This was Caleb's favorite time of year, when it was still warm enough to be outside, but cool enough that his favorite scarf didn't look out of place, and he was taking every advantage of it. He was sitting under his favorite tree, one off in the corner of the yard that they were permitted to eat lunch in, with his thermos sitting next to him, untouched. He scribbled down answer after answer, working on the math homework that he had put off until then. He knew that he should have had it done earlier, but his english paper had taken him longer than he had thought it was going to. At least he was getting it done, right? He would have preferred to be doing anything else, and if someone were to come by, he wouldn't mind the interruption in the least. In fact, he'd probably welcome them with open arms, and, depending on who it was, might even offer them a piece of the candy that he had hidden in his messenger bag.

Kali grinned as the lunch bell rang signaling the end of class. She stopped by her locker to grab her lunch before heading to the cafeteria. It took a bit to get there due to all the people who liked to hang out and chat in front of the stairs and in the door ways. Squeezing by a group of people congregated at the entrance of the cafeteria she looked around. It was busy as all ways and looked as if most of the tables where full, not that it bothered her much the weather had been nice lately which meant that she could sit outside and eat instead of staying in the stuffy cafeteria. Moving closers to the door that lead to the yard she smiled some more, It looked the yard was relatively clear of people which meant she had a good chance of snagging a spot under one of the trees before the rest of the people decided to move out as well. Looking around the yard she spotted a tree over in one of the corners that looked nice and there didn't seem to be a lot of people around it ether. Heading towards the tree she was happy to see someone else was there, she liked to hang out with people but it was weird to sit with a large group of people you don't know. When she was a few feet away from the tree she called to him "Do you mind if I join you?"

He looked up when he heard someone approaching, and grinned brightly at the girl. "Not at all," he responded. "Company is always appreciated."
He wroted down the last answer, and then slid the paper into his bag. "I'm Caleb." He thought he reconigzed her from one of his classes, perhaps English, or maybe it was science? Either way, he didn't mind her invading his tree.
He was in a much happier mood now that he was done with his homework, and pulled out a piece of chocolate, a miniture peanut butter cup, out of his bag. "Would you like a piece of chocolate?" That was another great thing about this time of year, you could buy a bag of like 50 pieces of candy for way cheaper than getting each piece individually. "I've got a few different types if you have a favorite."

Kali smiled as she sat next to him under the tree "I’m Kali, It’s nice to meet you." She put her lunch bag down. Grabbing her lunch and a water bottle out she took a sip the water before replying, "Sure I’ll have a peanut butter cup if you don’t mind."
Putting the box that contained her lunch on the bag she tilted her head slightly. "I feel like I’ve seen you around. Do you think we share any classes?" She asked before pulling the lid off her food. "Want some grapes?"

"If I minded, I wouldn't have offered," Caleb teased, tossing her a couple of the wrapped candies. "And I think we either share English, or Science, or maybe even both." He chuckled. "Guess I'm not the best at paying attention to the people in class with me."
He opened up his thermos, hoping to give it a chance to cool off before he drank the warm tomato soup that was inside. "I'd love a grape or two, thanks." His parents were bad at keeping fruit in the house, candy sure, but not so much the healthier things in life. Other than goat cheese.
"What'd you bring for lunch, other than grapes? I've got tomato soup." Her lunch appeared to be homemade as well, and he was a little curious as to what she had brought. Most people either bought their lunches from the cafeteria, or from the carts that sold the bean burritos and pizza.

"I guess you wouldn't" She laughed as she caught the candies. "I think you right about us being in both classes together, I'm not good at noticing my classmates’ ether, I don't think I know the names of anyone in my classes." She chucked, smiling as the wind in the yard picked up slightly turning into a feint breeze.
She pulled a small bunch of green grapes off of the one she had in the box handing them to him "Here you go." Opening one of the chocolates “Tomato soup’s good” She replied before eating the chocolate and taking another sip of her water “I have sushi.” Taking a fork out of her lunchbox she stabbed a piece of sushi.

He chuckled as well. "Guess we had better hope none of our classmates come up and wanto be greeted by name then." He was joking mostly, especially since it was possible to bluff through a conversation without using somebodies name. "Thanks." He took the grapes happily, popping one into his mouth. "Mom and dad always forget to buy fruit, and I love the stuff almost as much as I like candy." He tested his soup with a finger. Still not cool enough. "That's a pretty unique lunch." It was too, he didn't think he had seen anyone bring sushi before. "Do you eat wasabi with it?"

“Yeah that wouldn't end well would it?” she joked back “Your welcome” she ate the piece of sushi she had stabbed earlier “My parent’s forget to buy them sometimes to, so I grab some when I buy stuff for my cats.” She put the candies where the sushi and a few grapes had been. "So what are your favorite fruits? Mine are apples and grapes."
She pulled a few grapes off of the bunch eating them “Yeah I wanted to try something with fish in it that I don’t usually have.” she ate a few more grapes “I do sometimes but I don’t have any today. ”

"That's a good idea." Perhaps he would do that the next time he went out shopping. It would be nice to have fruit for his lunches. "My favorites are oranges and cherries. What kind of cats do you have?"
His soup was cool enough to drink now, and he took a sip out of it. Ah, now only if he had thought about bringing some crackers. Oh well. Hindsight was 50/50.
It seemed the sushi had lasted fairly well. "What type of sushi is it?" He wasn't much of a conissaur of sushi, he knew which ones he liked but not what they looked like. "Pity. We could have pranked somebody with a bit if you would have brought some." Perhaps it wouldn't have been the nicest, to spike one of his pieces of chocolate with a bit of wasabi paste, but it could have been amusing. Plus, it would have been, as far as pranks go, fairly harmless. "Perhaps next time."

“I have a black cat we think she might be a Bombay and an Egyptian Mau. Do you have any pets?” she wondered what her cats where doing right now, chances are they were sleeping. Cats usually sleep for about thirteen to eighteen hours a day after all.
“It’s Norimaki I think. It has salmon in it.” Kali laughed at the idea of pranking someone with wasabi. “That would be hilarious! I’ll defiantly bring some next time.” She tilted her head a bit trying to remember what the cafeteria lunch was today and if it came with hot sauce.

Caleb nodded. "We've got a Persian and a ferret. The ferret's mine." He grinned. "I named him Sneakers, because he wouldn't stay out of mine when I first brought him home." He adored that silly little creature, even if he was occasionally a pain.
"Interesting." Salmon wasn't one of his favorites, but he put on his list to try the next time he went out for sushi. You never knew what would be good until you tried it.
"We'll be able to do it more sneakily this way," he said, after a few moments of thinking. "People would probably notice a green glob of wasabi just dabbed on a piece of candy. Some of our classmates might be dumb, but they're not that stupid." He chuckled. "So, what kinds of things do you like to do? Other than playing tricks on people."

“Sneakers sounds cute. Does he still go in your shoes?” Kali leaned back against the tree they were sitting under.
“True hmm if we use the peanut butter cups we could cut part of the top of remove some of the peanut butter put the inside, replace the chocolate and microwave it so it melts back together then let it cool in a fridge before re-warping it.” She laughed a bit “I play with my cats a lot, take walks, look for stray cats and hang out with people.”
