Quote:
Lily stood in her room trying desperately to find something to wear. She did not know what she was suppose to wear out partying. Shoes, hair, clothes, jewelry. Lily was lost, not only that she bet Paris would be their soon, probably all done up and Lily was standing in t-shirt flipping throught the clothes in her closest and vetoing everything.

This was suppose to be fun and boy after the month that she was having she needeed it. She felt a bit selfish, but this small amount of time wouldn't hurt right. She would go back to the surrounding the next night.

Quote:
Paris was in desperate need of a night out. He thought September had to have been the worst night of the year, except then he remebered Febuary and how horrible a month that had been, and he thought September came in second. Still, it had been horrible. Dreadful, really. What with civilians randomly vanishing and turning up in space, late night patrols that were either uneventful or full of action, being dumped by Chris and having to deal with the wash of emotions that came with that tragedy, he was almost ready to call it quits and lock himself away for a while and just not doing anything.

But moping by himself was boring. Very, very boring. Thus, a girls' night out was in order. Of course, he wasn't exactly a girl and therefore the term didn't quite fit, but he could ignore the details.

Quote:
He'd had as much trouble deciding what to wear as Lily seemed to be having now. He hadn't been out partying in so long, at least not with someone, and not with any intention other than getting drunk. Should he wear a dress? Shorts? A skirt? Eventually he settled on a pink, black and white dress with black shoes and accesories, with his hair thrown up into his go-to fancy style of a French twist. Overbored? He didn't think so. Lily already knew about his choices in clothing anyway -- and besides, girls were usually so much better about it than boys were.

And so, he put as smile on his face and prepared himself for a evening he was determined to make fun, and he lifted a hand to ring to the doorbel.

Quote:
Paris got the pleasure of being greeted by Rose, who gave Paris a curious look, bending forward and getting up close and personal. The fashionista actress stood taller than Lily's own 5'7" with similar red curls cut close to her head. "Hello," she said still to all close and moving closer, "does my all to innocent sister know," the actress asked shaking her head and moving aside.

"She's up in her room," she said giving direction throught the house up to Lily's room.

Lily stood in her closet curls wild, trying to decided between a cute white skirt and identical skirt that was black. She was thinking about wearing an outfit similar to one of her favorites. "Bah this is so much harder than I though it would be. Why did I agree to this?"

Quote:
The invasion of his personal space was met with the slightest bit of discomfort, though Paris did his best to hide it and kept a smile on his face all the while. He was suddenly glad for the heels he was wearing. His short stature was always more pronounced around tall people. Thankfully, the extra inches provided by his shoes didn't make the different seem so bad.

"Oh, right, thank you," he said when he was directed to Lily's room. He made his way awkwardly into the house, glancing around here and there as he went, and followed the way to his friend's room a bit slowly, wanting the chance to take everything in. Once he arrived, he lightly knocked on the door. "Lily? I'm here. Er... you didn't tell me other people would be here..."

Other people's family always made him feel weird, even if it was just his friends. He'd never met Ladon's mother. And Chris's family... well, he liked them, but everyone else was just... weird.

Quote:
Lily grinned seeing Paris come into her room, "thank heaven's your here. I can't decide what ..." She stopped hearing Paris's words. "Oh, sorry I havent though of it. Mom's here probably in the library, Dad's away on business, Xander's in his room studying, and Rose my sister is was in the movie theater. I would have had you come to my new house, but I haven't finished moving everything. Most of my clothes are still here."

She took Paris by the arm and pulled him into her walk in closet, "but I digress, please help me pick something. I'm honest not sure what exactly I should where. As soon as I get dressed we can head out and remember I said I had a surprise. Well we get to spend the night in hotel and the suite as jacuzzi." Lily grinned shifting throught the clothes again.

Quote:
Library, movie theater, new house... Paris didn't even know how to process all of that information. Then again, he'd been to Chris's parents' house, and they had a large house with large rooms and fancy offices and fireplaces in the bedroom and a jacuzzi and a cabana and all those luxuries rich people had, but he'd started to think the Gallos were just special, sparkly people with special, sparkly things that no one else could ever hope to have.

Clearly, that was not the case, as he should have very well known.

Awkward he might have initially been, but Paris looked forward to the opportunity to do some self pampering. "That sounds fantastic," he said, looking through Lily's closet after she'd pulled him in. It was huge. Huge, huge. It made his closet look rather pathetic in comparions. Not that he didn't have nice clothes, too. They were just sort of... crammed in every which way. "My vote is nothing too long. Maybe a skirt with a cute top? Or you could go with the classic little black dress if you've got one."

Quote:
Lily nodded and grinned shoving a few pieced to the side before pulling out a mostly black dress with a bit of lace detailing on it. "Didn't think I would ever really have cause to wear this. My sister bought it because lace is my favorite fabric, but I bet it will work right."

She headed looked over head at the boxes in the top of the closet and realized she really needed to move the rest of her things and only leave a few things at her parents house, for those night when she stayed the night. She pulled down a round shoe box, "I think these shoes go with it the dress. Let me try them on and you can tell me what you think. Could you look through my jewelry box on the dresser to see if you spot somthing nice."

With that she changed quickly and came out to show off the dress and shoes to Paris. "What do you think?"

While Lilly went to change, Paris moved over to her dresser as she'd requested and began to go through her jewelry boy for something to go with her dress, figuring it would be best to go with something simple and elegant. Maybe a necklace? A nice bracelet? A ring? Nothing huge, but definitely classy.

He over again when Lily came out. "Looking good. With all the clothes you have, I don't see why you'd need my help picking something out. You could probably wear anything and look fine. Then again," he paused to consider, "I guess the more clothes you have, the harder it is to settle on just one thing."

And it wasn't like he didn't spend a lot of time going through his own closet whenever he needed to get ready, even if his wasn't nearly as big as Lily's.

"I picked out a few things I like," he said, motioning to the jewelry, "but I figured I'd let you make the final decision."

"Thank you," she said softly at the compliment.

Lily shook her head walking over to the jewelry Paris had picked from her jewelry box. "I have a lot of clothes, but my sister bought the majority of them, thankfully keeping in mind that I like lace. I've gotten pretty good a pairing things up, but otherwise I know next to nothing about fashion or the appropriate dress for a night on the town. I'm only any good at it when I go with someone else, usually Alex. He's got such a great sense of style, simple and clean."

Lily put on a simple silver chain with a single emerald teardrop hanging from it and the matching earring. Effectively the only bright color she had on her aside from her hair.

"Looks like we are all set," she spouted, "now lets climb into the car and head out." She quickly headed out of her room only to nearly walk right into Xander.

"Where the fire Lily," he said before noticing Paris then looking back down at his sister. He smiled and gave her a pat on the head, "going out huh, its about time. Hope you too lovely ladies have fun!"

Lily shook her head grabbing Paris's hand, "Bye Xander. Introductions another time," she said pulling Paris along, hoping to get to the car without another interruption. She was excited for this moment of normality.

Paris couldn't pretend not to be excited as well. He'd spent so much time trying to be an adult recently -- working, worrying about relationships, volunteering up at the Surrounding while still keeping up with his patrol nights here on Earth -- he was beginning to forget what it was like to actually be young and live a little, and he hated that. He was only seventeen. He shouldn't have to worry about any of this extra stuff, and for tonight, he wasn't going to.

He followed Lilly out of her bedroom, smiling at her brother as they walked into him and then passed him by, though he said nothing in response, still a little awkward feeling around other people's family. He'd didn't know when he'd become inundated with so much awkwardness when he used to be anything but. Probably when he'd begun to lose control of his life. What he wouldn't give to have that control back...

"So who is Alex?" he wondered as they continue on their way to the car. He tried to remember if he'd ever heard Lily mention the name before, but he couldn't seem to recall. "I don't think I've ever heard you mention him before."

Then again, he apparently wasn't in the habit of meeting any of his friend's other friends. He'd never met any of Ladon's other friends, except his boyfriend -- ex, now -- but he didn't think that counted for much, and he'd gone months casually dating Chris and then being his girlfriend without being around his best friend or getting more than a couple of glimpses of her at summer camp. Lily was really the only mutual friend he seemed to have with Chris or with anyone else.

"Not your boyfriend, is he?" he asked, a bit cautiously, not sure he really wanted to get on the topic of boyfriends when his own was... well, not his boyfriend anymore.

Lily blinked looking at Paris and giving a small grin when she asked who Alex was then frowning intensely her face going into a yuck expression when she popped the boyfriends question.

"Alex, my boyfriend? Ewww, no, no, no. He's my best friend, he's like my brother we were practically raised together. He's made years of business parties and social gathering not so stuffy. Don't know what I'd do without him," she said pulling open the door to her hyrbrid truck and climbing in even without him being her best friend, practically raised with her Alex was gay, which obviously meant so off the radar.

Lily buckled her seatbelt, started the car, and decided to forgo music, "and I have never had a boyfriend before, never even been kissed by a boy," she said feeling the need to state that little fact.

Lily grinned while driving into town, "so you've been to this place before, yes? I'm not much of a partier, so when we get close you'll have to direct as I don't actually know where we are going. I should put a gps thing on my phone at some point."

"It's kind of overrated anyway," Paris said, climbing into the car and buckling his seat-belt as well. "The whole kissing boys and dating thing, I mean."

Only it wasn't, it he were to be honest with himself. Sex was overrated sometimes, sure, but actual relationships? He was starting to rethink some of his previous opinions on them, if only because his relationship with Chris hadn't seemed overrated at all. Real relationships could be fun and worthwhile. It was the flings, the careless romps he'd had before that hadn't meant much of anything.

He didn't say any of that, however. He'd rather not think about his break-up with Chris more than he already had. Tonight was supposed to be fun. No drama. Just a night out to let loose and be young for a while.

He directed Lily toward one of the nicer clubs he'd happened across during his partying days, and hopped out once they'd arrived and parked. "I figured one of the more upscale places would be better," he explained, tossing her a little grin. "Can't take a nice girl like you to one of the seedier places I've been to. This one isn't, like, très chic or uber high class with, like, celebrities and models everywhere, but the clientele's a little less rough than you'd find on my side of town."

Lily laughed shaking her head and mumbling, "If you say so." She figured Paris would know. She worried to much about such things because of Tali, why hadn't she seen that one coming, but also because almost dying a bunch of times tended to make fiercely determined to have a future, a life.

She was happy that Paris seemed to be pretty good at giving direction and it seemed they arrived in no time at all. She laughed at Paris comment shaking her head slightly, "I can handle anything you throw at me," she said although she was very glad the place would be upscale. The closest she'd been to nightclubs were Mudville and Hindsight, which were a bar and grille and a karaoke lounge respectively.

She could help, but to be a bit excited looking to Paris to guide the way to the entrance while trying to tug at her dress which seemed to have become an inappropriate length during the car ride.

"I just want to dance till my feet hurt and sing along to the songs while I'm doing it. I really need this break."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 05, 2011 12:11 pm

”Trust me, you aren’t the only one,” Paris told her as he led the way to the entrance, fishing out his ID to have it checked at the door. He waited for Lily to do the same, and looped his arm with hers to walk with her as they were allowed inside.

It was your typical club—same loud music, same dim lighting, with sparkling, flashing colors thrown every which way—but it was somewhat more tasteful than a few of the other places he was used to. There were a lot of people dancing very close to one another, of course, all wearing clothing of various lengths—most of which tended to be a little on the short side as far as the women were concerned—and Paris didn’t think it was completely free of the influence of drugs, but what place truly was? At least it was clean. He didn’t feel so much like trash taking Lily to a place like this as he would have had he picked a place on the other side of town.

“You want a drink first or do you wanna go ahead and jump out onto the dance-floor?” he asked, leaning close so that he could actually be heard over the sound of the music.

Lily showed her ID and then found herself led in by Paris. It felt really good to get out and as soon as the music hit her ears she wanted to sing and dance Paris question went with out a verbal answer as Lily proceed to take Paris hand and head over to the dance floor. Drink could wait Lily want to dance.

Lily let go of Paris' hand when they reached the dance floor the song drumming her hand, she swayed her hips and moved her arms to the rhythm singing out the word to the familiar song. Even though she was singing Lily smiled, she wondered briefly why she never did this sort of thing. Sure she had been to parties, but not like this. She mentally resolved to drag Alex out to a club, probably this once since she did not know any other's.

She looked to Paris and gave a silly grin. She had to say she was really glad to have made friend with the boy. She didn't care in the least that he dressed and acted as a girl, it hardly mattered.

Paris had absolutely no problems whatsoever when Lily pulled him out onto the dance-floor. He wouldn’t have been against a drink, but considering he’d been trying to lower his alcohol intake recently he supposed resisting temptation for a while would be the best bet. He didn’t intend to get drunk when he was out with Lily of all people—that would be rather rude of him, and she’d always been too nice to him for him to want to make her deal with something like that.

Instead, he let the rhythm take him over and moved to the beat of the music, which he thought was just as good as any drink or drug anyway. It didn’t numb his mind, but it gave him something to focus on and let him get out all that pent up energy in a marginally safe way. The fact that it was crowded and he couldn’t get away with dancing without occasionally bumping into people didn’t bother him at all. It felt good to be out and moving around and just letting everything else go.

He grinned back at Lily and sang along as well, loudly, though there wasn’t a chance of him actually being heard very well when the music was turned up so high. He didn’t know why he didn’t do things like this more often, just go out with a friend and have a good time. He hated being alone, yet he spent way too much time out searching for company among strangers instead of just calling someone for a couple of hours of freedom.

He supposed that after becoming a senshi, cutting himself off had seemed like the safer option. Now he wondered why. It wasn’t so hard to pretend being normal. He was still himself. He still enjoyed the same things. He still liked the same people. None of that had changed when everything else had.

Lily grinned and continued to dance and sing oblivious of most other things around her, all the bumps when unnoticed. What didn't go unnoticed however, was the hands on her waist, which startled her and had her head whipping around and looking wide eyes at the guy who was now trying to dance with her.

She stopped and gave the guy a good glare before moving away and taking hold of Paris' arm with a pleading look. "I think a drink would be a good idea now."

Lily wasn't so fond of surprise touches from strangers. She really didn't mean to freak, but it just seemed so improper not to ask. It was something she probably should have expected in this setting, but still.

The boy made a very rude comment as Lily walked away hoping Paris would follow, but Lily ignored it. She still wanted to dance, but after a drink, her shoes weren't really good for being on the dance floor all night, even if she did dance ballet, comfortable for the feet, yeah right.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 20, 2011 5:02 pm

Paris didn’t mind the casual or not-so-casual touches by strangers. He’d been to places like this far too often to be surprised by it. He found it rather exciting, really, though he could sort of see why other people might not long it. Not everyone was as free with themselves as he was. Not everyone was comfortable with the thought of someone they didn’t know being so close. Lily’s reaction wasn’t too predictable—he hadn’t truly known how she would react until she did—but it wasn’t surprising either.

“Alright. Let’s go,” he agreed, pulling himself away from the dance-floor with only a mild sense of disappointment.

While Lily might have been able to ignore the rude comment, Paris heard it and rolled his eyes in response, and made sure to reciprocate with a rude hand gesture before following Lily and heading toward the bar.

He grabbed onto her arm before she could move so far ahead of him. “Are you okay?” he made sure to ask. She didn’t look too terribly freaked out, but he didn’t want her feeling uncomfortable when they were supposed to be having fun. “Don’t feel like we have to do this. If there’s anything you don’t like, say something.”
