Well, things had been going exceedingly well lately on pretty much all aspects of his life at present. Kawena was contently full, knew where nearby water sources were, and had a steady stream of highly enjoyable socialization from the lovely leopardess, Huyana. While they got along swimmingly, he was still hesitant to call her 'Hu'. He figured that it was perhaps because calling her by such a cute, familiar nickname is something to be saved for a lover, perhaps a mate. Using Hu seemed to be something that denoted a close familiarity and even a potentially romantic fondness for her. The orange male didn't want to overstep his boundaries beyond simply joking with her. Of course, he could be over thinking the matter and worrying over nothing.
It was early yet and Kawena was feeling lazy, at least didn't have to intent to get up and around just yet. He was awake, but he was enjoying his sprawl too much to get up and active quite yet. He was laying on his back, all four feet in the air, his front paws kind of resting on his paler orange belly. His tail slowly swished back and forth and his eyes were closed, save for an occasion peek around by one of his eyes.

She hadn't minded the males presence. It wasnt like her, as she preferred being alone over having someone who wasn't family around her. She was making an exception though, and she was rather proud at her ability to make friends rather quickly. She was resting in the tip top of her favorite tree, and he had taken up residence underneath it. She had offered its branches, a huge step for her to actually take, and he took it every now and again. Her tree was important to her, and she didn't share with just anyone. Though it wasnt like she told him that.
Stretching out her legs up in the tree, she leapt from one branch to another, before she made that final descent down to the floor with grace and focus. When she had amde it to the earth, she stretched once more, and pawed at him playfully.
"Are you planning on waking today?" She teased.

Kawena made it apparent that he either wasn't watching her descent, or wasn't interested, when in fact, he was watching her casually through a faintly cracked open eye. When she grew closer to the ground, he closed his eyes and made a show of 'being asleep or otherwise dozy'. Her playful pawing made him grin though, in spite of his sleeping act.
Letting his head loll over to face her with a drawn out sigh, he 'blearily' blinked his eyes open and smiled up at her. "Hm? Maaaybe," He drew out with a tease of his own. "I figured why ruin a good sprawl when I find myself in one."
He rolled over onto his side before pushing himself to his feet, shaking himself to rid his coat of dust and any dead grass that may have decided to cling to his fun. The result left him looking a bit more ruffled but cleaner. Kawena gave a long stretch before sighing and looking to Huyana. "There, I'm up. Happy now?" He asked with a crooked grin.

She snorted and grinned, shaking her head and poking him with a paw before he stood. Once he had finally stood she flicked her tail against him. She was never really afraid of having physical contact with others. She had lived with her sisters after all, and they had been just the type to want to cuddle and snuggle all the time. Where she wasnt the best cuddler, physical contact didn't worry her.
"You'd sleep all day if I let you. I've learned that rather quickly." She teased and watched as grinned at her.
"I wont be happy until I have breakfast. We need to get some." She said, and felt her belly gurgle. She had eaten last afternoon but that had seemed like ages. Now it was time for a fresh kill. He ate more often than she did, and so he wasn't as hungry (usually) as she was.
But this time, he was coming with her whether he liked it or not. And the thought made her chuckle.

He didn't mind the contact. While he and his own litter mate hadn't been the cuddly sort in particular, but he didn't shy away from physical contact if he came to it. Perhaps he simply didn't have much of a need for personal space, or didn't care for it one way or another. He didn't put much thought to it.
Kawena laughed. "Not all day," He protested mildly, his grin unfaltering.
"Well, then, that won't do at all!" The male said straightening himself up with a curl of his tail. "We must do something about this travesty once."
A few of the habits that he had picked up in the desert still stuck with him and that was the main reason he wasn't generally hungry when Huyana was. In the desert, he had to take what he could get and that often meant eating smaller meals whenever he could get them. Mostly, hares, lizards, and snakes. He had eaten a scorpion once. It was a nasty little thing to kill and he had been wary and smart enough to not eat the poison stinger. That would have just have been dumb.
He didn't mind going on a hunt with her in the slightest. If anything, if the hunt was vigorous enough, he might work up a bit of appetite himself. Maybe.
"What might the lady be in the mood for?"

It was good he didn't think less of her, for her touchy feely nature. She couldn't help herself. Being raised by her eldest sister, she had grown to show her love often. It was a force of habit now.
"Okay, well then almost all day." She grinned and shook her head. He was such a dramatic leopard, but she liked it. It was interesting, and he left her guessing.
"Well we will stop it at once then! Hunting is fun." She purred, flexing her claws as she showed her excitement. She looked at him, and winked.
"I mean.. If you think you could beat me. I'm a pretty awesome hunter. You might fall short." She teased, in an obvious playful manner.
"I'm thinking whatever we find. The mornings, I'm the least picky."
