The thumping noise was audible all the way to the first floor, and it was bothersome enough to those on the third that any of them that were conscious had moved to stand at the bottom of the spiral staircase. It had been largely cleared of all the stones blocking the way, enough that perhaps one person could pass into the clear, starlit night of the room above them--just barely visible was a line of what seemed to be bars, peering out to the open sky above. The spectators knew that this had to be a very awkward perspective, considering the way that the shadows seemed to dance. Like a drunkard's weaving, almost.
No, the spectators couldn't have any idea what in the world was going on up there. Could it be... someone had finally made good on jumping from tree to the dome, and now was trying to pull the rest of the rocks clear so others could come up? After all, no one really knew what was up there. Could be knives. Could be the skeletons of old sacrifices--the story of what Virgo used to get up to had spread and become more horrifying in the hands of the more vicious and vengeful civilians who were trapped. It wouldn't be all that odd to find an Iron Maiden.
So they gathered around the staircase, listening to the drunken crashes. Among them was Soldier Virgo, and she looked none-too-pleased with what she was hearing... but not exactly inclined to move as yet...

It was just another night at the Surrounding, and Valhalla was in the process of organizing some of the medical supplies that had been left around the place. Was it really that difficult to place gauze where the rest of the gauze was...? Apparently so... He'd already made sure the trash had been picked up, not wanting to make the place even more of a mess.
But he looked up when the others did, frowning in slight concern when a strange noise could be heard from somewhere upstairs. What the heck...? He didn't like it, whatever it was, but then again, he was always wary about strange noises. He could have been at home, working on projects for class, but he'd figured that the civilians at the Surrounding needed more help, and he could afford to put off his assignment for a little bit.
"Captain...?" he asked as he slowly approached where Soldier Virgo was standing, becoming even more wary of the expression on her face. "What is it...?" Should they all be gathering around like that...? "Did someone get stuck up there?"
Maybe a child had been exploring and ended up slipping through the rocks, somehow...?

Just another night, indeed. With long hours spent at work and his nights occupied with either patrolling or volunteering his time up at the Surrounding, the days were starting to blend together for Ganymede. He went about filling up water bottles and making sure no one was causing any trouble in a bit of a listless fashion. It didn’t seem as if this entire messy situation was close to being over, and the longer it continued, the more anxious it made him.
He glanced up with the intention of tossing an annoyed glare in the direction the noise was coming from, but it ended up being more of a concerned frown, and he stopped what he was doing to approach the Zodiac captain and the small group that was beginning to gather, taking up a position beside Valhalla -- a familiar enough place for him now, if only for the comfort his presence provided.
“What’s going on?” he wondered, peering around cautiously and straining to hear better, but he still couldn’t tell what it could possibly be. “Someone causing trouble?”

After her harrowing attempt to reach Chronos, Keren Della-Blue had elected to stick close to Virgo outpost for the remainder of her time at the surrounding. Knowing what impasses lurked on the rainbow road was enough to make her content with her place cleaning up the crap that had accumulated at Virgo.
That didn't mean she was complacent, of course, and a pounding from the mysterious top floor was enough to draw her out of today's hiding place. After shirking work to lounge about in the groves, it took a lot of commotion to make Keren trek all the way to the third floor landing and see what was going on.
She arrived with a petulant but worried look on her face, and moved to stand behind the elaborately-dressed senshi, Ganymede, because she liked his style best and he looked pretty strong. "One of the monsters from out on the road couldn't have come here, right?" she asked, nervous wiggle in her voice.
Babylon mounted the stairs two at a time, like a responsible knight ought to. He was feeling good about the work he was doing at Virgo outpost, even if he wasn't sure the Zodiac Captain would ever forgive him for not being Menachem. Responding to weird noises from upstairs... were not only what you ought to do when you were a knight in a sea of civilians, but it would also, perhaps, win him a bit more of Virgo's favor for being proactive.
Much to his chagrin, Babylon was not the first to arrive on the scene, but it was heartening to know that others had deemed this worth their while. He fell into line beside Ganymede and Valhalla, shooting his teammates nods of recognition, and then glanced at the unfamiliar senshi, the white-clad knight, and the girl who he thought he recognized as one of his sister's friends. The knight seemed reasonable - the petulant senshi and the teenager, less as much.
"If someone managed to make it up there, I'd be interested to know how they made it up there," he mused. "I mean... yeah." He was always interested in new and improved methods of breaking, entering, and generally getting to be places where he didn't belong.

Virgo, Virgo, Virgo. Darwin didn’t like Virgo; the Virgo Outpost, that was. Only other time he'd been here was because he was hurt. So, why was he here? Well… good question. No particular reason, not really. Seemed like a good idea at the time, or a better idea then then it did now. At least it should be safe-ish here, what with all the not-aliens that Darwin saw had gathered.
Squinting up at where the noises were coming from, Darwin wondered out loud, “ Wonder if it’s space squirrels…”
Earth squirrels managed to get into Earth attics, so why couldn't space squirrels get into space outposts? Made sense to him.

"If Space Squirrels are anything like the space BATS I don't think we've got enough supply of peanuts and dry corn to appease them." Holi volunteered, with maybe a touch of bitter irony at the idea of Space Squirrels, imagining something the size of a small mastiff with foamy jaws and a foul temper. Try and keep that out of the bird feeder.
She'd recently returned to Virgo for the second time since they'd been brought here, this time for injuries from an rather less earth-like monster at Chronos.
She was definitely unimpressed by the attitude of the senshi with the blue hair, especially after the determination the others at Chronos had shown to keep everyone safe, but it wasn't her place to lecture him, especially with Chronos herself doing an pretty effective job of it.
"Maybe we should try and move another rock or two to make sure if anyone finds something bad up there they can retreat in a hurry if they have to?" She suggested, though there was a small, unpleasant twist of doubt in her stomach. Had something excavated from the inside, or from the outside? With so much rubble, and her lack of having previously investigated this area, she wasn't quite sure.
Nothing that was going on was terribly reassuring, especially since Virgo was supposed to be the 'hospital' area, meaning many of the people here were in... less than perfect shape, a thought that made her knead her fingers absently into her tender, healing shoulder, short of actually manhandling the healing injury, a small fragment of her thoughts wondering if she'd have a scar.
This time anyway she wasn't planning on charging into the fray unless there was no choice. Call it a lesson learned, even if curiosity drew her to the area of the noise.

Originally Varya had intended on exploring the surrounding after her wounds healed, but she was finding it hard to leave. People had been disappearing. She'd heard the rumors, civilians whispering quietly to one another while doing chores. What kept them stuck up there was the hot topic of the day, and probably would be until the situation was over.
At least she had her arm back. She did have to give the senshi that, they did have a knack for heeling things that needed it. It only took a few hours for the pain to subside, and another day after that for the broken bones to mend in her arm. It was kind of amazing really.
She'd already helped do some of the cleaning before(she didn't really mind it much, so long as someone was doing it with her!), and she had been tired. Virgo was an excellent place to sleep, always peacefu- THUMP.
The noise shook her from her revelries and then continued to harsh her mellow.
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP.
Curiously, Varya stood, making her way over to where a crowd of people were gathered. It didn't take her long to make it towards the front, looking to the person Virgo for a little bit of enlightenment. Unfortunately, she looked as confused as Var felt, which didn't bode well for any of them. "Whats going on?"
