Beatrix
After the nice get together at the Paranormal Post newspaper club, she had met new students and even made a friendly impression on a new acquaintance. A new day has come and Bea had received a written letter from a ghost ghoul named Lattice who she had met not too long ago. It was an invitation to have some tea! Bea was delighted that a fellow ghost ghoul interested in spending some quality time. She floated over to her closet and picked out nice stylish white dress to wear. She brushed her hair out and kissed her minipets good bye.

As Bea was leaving her dorm room she looked at the letter again for directions. “The door… with ink on it?” She took a few steps down the hallway and the door stuck out like a sore thumb. “Ha,” Bea laughed very amused, “that was quite easy!” Bea lifted up her dainty hand and began to knock on Lattice’s door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Lattice
Lattice was just simply in her room not really doing anything of interest other than just simply taking care of some general cleaning and making sure her room was tidy after she had performed a bit of meditation and such. Thus the knock on the door surprised her despite it being a bit planned, she'd just been so absorbed in preparing for her guest that it still surprised her. The ghoul quietly smoothed out her sash a bit before she padded over toward the door and then pulled it open. She wore a slight smile in greeting as she shuffled a bit out of the way, "Bea, welcome, please come in."

It was around then that a soft whining whistle exited from a boiling kettle on the modest stove that was included in Lattice's room, "Please, make yourself at home," she gestured a needle covered arm toward a small table where one needed to sit at on small square pillows since it was so low down. "Tea is ready in a moment, is there any particular tea you desire?"

Beatrix
Bea smiled and happily walked in with a friendly greeting from Lattice. “Thank you!” She stepped into the room with awe and astonishment. She has never seen a room like this before and it was completely different from her own. She peered down to see the square pillows and made her way towards them to sit down.

“Ah. Um… I’m not picky. Whatever you have is fine.” The pillow was a bit strange to sit on, seeing as Bea has never really experienced this before. “What is your favorite tea? Do you have anything to eat with them?”

Lattice
Lattice nodded a bit, "My favorite is raspberry tea, but then I enjoy anything with raspberry in it," she chuckled slightly as she moved to attend to the tea so it didn't keep whistling the entire time. She got out two cups and started to pour water in them, "I have all sorts of tea and I also have some spookies that I managed to get the last time I went to the maul, will those be alright?"

Despite asking she still got out a small plate and started arranging spookies upon them just in case, after all a good hostess always anticipated a guest's whims. "Thank you for visiting, it means a great deal," Lattice said toward Bea as she started to brew up raspberry tea for them both.

Beatrix
“Ohhhh, raspberry and spookies? Sounds delicious!” Bea clapped her hands together in excitement. Spookies are delicious, no matter what kind they were, and tea always sounded delightful to her anyway. So the combination was completely a-okay with the white lady. She finally made herself comfortable at the table and watched Lattice tend the tea and spookies. “Oh, no. It’s my pleasure! It’s always nice to have company no matter where you go.”

Bea observed Lattice for a moment in adoration. “Your tea set is beautiful by the way.” smiling as she complimented the nicely decorated tea cups.

Lattice
"It is true, I have learned to enjoy company of others a lot more since I came to Amityville for schooling," Lattice replied as she wandered over first with the platter of spookies placing them down in the center for easy reach as well as a small compartmented container filled with various sweeteners for the tea. She then went to get the cups nicely brewed tea. One cup was placed before Bea and the other in the place where Lattice was going to sit.

"Thank you very much. My Sister gifted it to me. It is a very treasured set." It was obvious that if anything happened to it Lattice would be quite distraught. Lattice seemed settled for the most part as she held her cup between two hands leaving it unsweetened, "Anything new going on with you, Bea?" A little conversation before they would play a game was always nice.

Beatrix
Bea nodded in agreement, “Mhm! Same here,” she giggled. Should she go for the spookies first? or take a sip of the tea? Bea could not decided. Her thoughts were interrupted for a moment when Lattice mentioned her sister… Lattice had a sister? That must be very nice. Bea wished to have family or even a close friend. But so far there hadn’t been much more than acquaintances or new friends. She appreciated how Lattice was fortunate to have a sister. Bea curled her fingers around her tea cup, holding it delicately like a flower in her hands. She took a small sip before setting it down again. “Ooooh, that’s hot.” She smiled warmly.

“New? Um… Let’s see…” She thought for a moment before answering. “Well, I don’t think much has happened since I last saw you at newspaper club.” Bea truly could not think of anything new that had happened… “What about you?” she asked curiously.

Lattice
Lattice chuckled softly, "I'd hope it is still hot," she teased a bit as she moved to take a sip from her own cup of tea before she set it aside and picked up a spookie to enjoy. She seemed thoughtful about what was new with her before she offered up, "I learned new things about boils they apparently keep brains in their pants." She said bluntly and with a straight face.

The Engraver honestly believed this.

The ghoul thought about it a bit more, "And a boil gave me his cape since I enjoyed it so. He was very kind," Lattice smiled happily as she moved to pick up her personal Hanafuda deck and started to shuffle them. "I keep trying to go out and meet new people, it is very enlightening."

Beatrix

Lattice’s teasing did not make Bea feel annoyed, rather the opposite! Bea giggled a bit too… After the other ghoul picked up a spookie, Bea did the same right after. She took a bite out of the spookie and barely held onto her squealing. It was delicious! Bea wiggled a bit on her cushion and decided to take another sip.

Brains in boils’ pants?! Bea choked a bit on the tea, coughing rather violently. “W-what?!” Bea was quite surprised but did not want to pester Lattice with her trivial questions. Instead, Lattice continued with another experience she had had with another boil. When Bea recovered her composure, she asked “Ooooh, he sounds like a gentleman! Who was this boil that lend you his cape?”

Lattice
"I'm sorry did I say something bad?" Lattice paused in her story for a moment tilting her head before she shifted her shoulders, "A new friend of mine she says boils think with what is in their pants and I assume that meant they kept brains in there..."

Lattice was a little bit literal.

"Oh! The boil? His name is Herryk. He is very gentle." She continued to shuffle the cards in her hands only pausing to take out a slip of paper that had a diagram drawn on it of all the possible matches and combinations Bea could achieve for their little game so she wouldn't be flying blind during the game. "I have yet to meet a bad boil though, much less one that thinks with his pant-brain."

Beatrix

At this point, Bea found Lattice to be intriguing and, quite frankly, adorable. Bea let out a small laugh before replying, “I don’t think your friend meant that there is a brain in a boil’s pants. I’m pretty sure what she meant was… umm… how should I say this? Uhh… Well, boil’s don’t have brains in their pants. Let’s leave it at that.” Bea nodded at the ghoul.

“Herryk… Herryk… Oh! That large, bare-chested boil with a manly deep voice? I think I met him before. He came to my campaign booth once during the florescetival. Though, it was very brief. VERY brief.” Bea took another sip of her tea. “I don’t think I met any bad boils either. I’ve met a variety of boils, but none of them seem like bad people.” she smiled.

Lattice
Lattice resumed shuffling after a moment only to pause again, "That is disappointing, I was hoping to get a boil to show me," she blinked behind her mask, "not that I could honestly see it either way, but still, the idea of brains in one's pants was very interesting."

Oh well she was certain boils kept other things in their pants that weren't brains.

She nodded a bit, "It is sad it was a brief meeting then, you did not get to see a full scope of his personality," Lattice smiled lightly before she started to deal out the cards. This would be a casual game with no expectation of rules to be followed to the letter. "Whenever you are ready you may make your first move. This game is a bit like a matching game." She said after she set everything up along with a discard pile.

Beatrix
Bea happened to choke again at Lattice’s comment about a boil showing her what could be in his pants. Though it wasn’t violent this time, she still had a hard time breathing. She cleared her throat several times, “Ah-ha! Um! Goodness. Excuse me!” she said to herself.
“Anyway! Yes, it’s a shame I didn’t get to know him better. He sounds like a very nice boil…” Bea took a moment to remember her encounter with him and looked back at Lattice when she dealt the cards. “Ah, these are the hana… fuda… cards, right?”

Lattice
Lattice tilted her head, "My, my I must be shocking you a lot with these concepts," she observed curiously and then shifted her shoulders. "Do take care I would hate to have something bad to happen to you." Perhaps she should leave this particular subject alone now it seemed to be upsetting poor Bea!

She nodded a bit, "This is my personal deck that I drew myself, if you want I can make you a deck one day if you enjoy the game with me." Lattice offered quite eager to show Bea how to play and hopefully enjoy the game as well.
