He hadn't come here for a long time, indeed.
One look behind him showed that Hesperis was already angling toward the gardens, but he didn't follow her. Instead, Joshua entered Virgo's outpost proper, makeshift toolbelt made out of his jacket (that wouldn't be called a jacket now, honestly, the thing was beyond repair), a white tanktop that looked just a little too big for him, and black jeans that had seen much better days, what with the fading and holes at the knees.
...He was already regretting the tanktop. It was chilly in here !
But really, there had to be something Virgo would like fixed in there, or beds that could be used if given some TLC. For now he was wandering, looking for the senshi of innocence herself, through if anyone had stayed in the outpost all this time, he could probably be clued from them, too...

"Howdy, tiny," Ricky called, laughing at the scrawny shorter boy in the tank top. He, too, was wearing a tank top and denims, but he filled out the tank top significantly better than Josh. As a frequent exerciser with good muscle tone and greater height, he notably bigger than the other boy.
The southerner had been taking a break on the steps of the Outpost, his body drenched and reeking of sweat and body odor - the physical state of being that Ricky simply loved to be in. Nothing said "man" more than the strong, rancid smell of one.
He slapped Josh on his back, meant to be a friendly greet or pat on the back but perhaps too much muscle was used, as he flashed his dopey smile. He remembered Josh well - Josh may be tiny in comparison, but he had been Ricky's hero when Ricky was dangling off the road after the space whale had attacked them.
"Yer here ta get some work done?" Ricky questioned.

Joshua tilted his head toward the source of the words - not startled per-se, but he hadn't seen Ricky before he'd spoken. "Hey." He said with a grin.
...And for a split second, was tempted to try to push him in the fountain. Joshua was certainly a fan of hard work, but not a fan of smelling like hard work, you know ?
The slap was indeed stronger than intended - not enough to knock Josh off his feet, but enough to have him a little unstable for a moment. "Gentle, Hulk." Well, apparently they had nicknames now.
"Yeah, well, there ain't much else I can fix in Leo, so I figured I'll come see over here ? I need to keep busy."
As long as he kept busy, it was okay. It was in idle time that reality caught up and he started to miss home.

"I hear ya," Ricky nodded. He liked to keep himself busy as well, and there was plenty of work that needed to be done in Virgo. He had been working in the gardens around the Outpost on most days, something similar to his work back at home, but also did a fair amount of heavy lifting work within the Outpost. "Been workin' on fixin' beds today. It ain't nuttin' too difficult, just makin' sure they all level and won't break none when someone lies down in 'em."
He pointed to one bed that was clearly broken, the four legs of it were crushed underneath the base of it. He didn't have the tools to fix the bed and had been doing whatever work he could with his bare hands, but Joshua seemed to have come prepared with a tool belt. Smart kid.
"You know how to use them tools?" he pointed to the belt.

"Yeah I mean, it's not like we can restore them to their initial state." He certainly didn't have that kind of skill - through really, an antiques specialist would have a field trip up here, really. Especially in Leo.
Through all these places were ancient in their own ways...
"Of course I do." Well, duh. It wasn't like he carried a tool belt just for show. "There's some spare wood around to make some makeshift legs for this ? Not sure there will hold even if I hammer em back in place..."

"Naw, I reckon not," Ricky agreed, eyeing the broken beds in desperate need of repair. They wouldn't be able to be restore them to their initial state - the beds were far too old for that. But they could probably fix them up a fair amount to at least be functional. "Wit' some work and some good pieces o' wood, I s'pose we could get them into some good shape. You ain't know where any supply stores are up in space, do ya?"

"Ha, I wish !" Hardware stores in space. Wouldn't that have been convinent as hell ?
"I just take things apart, keep what's more or less intact or can be fixed, and discard what I can't use." He said, looking around him. "Like, this one..." He walked toward another of the beds. "The legs are okay, but the bottom part that's mean to hold a matress is busted. You can take off the legs on this to put on the other one, and put this one on the ground so that someone can use it without the mattress falling off. Bam, two usable beds, and I still have a spare leg to use if I need it."
Reuse and reinvent were words Josh lived by, really.
