THE SOBBING ORPHAN: Drink Your Fill!
It no doubt caught the attention of the first search party, if only briefly, and future visitors to this bizarre youma village would most likely take notice as well. Its presence was one hell of a mystery considering that its usual visitors were beings with no need for any sort of food or drink, but there it was regardless. Those Negaversers who had the courage to take a step inside would be welcomed, albeit begrudgingly, to the Sobbing Orphan.
It was a tavern. A youma tavern. And it was where you needed to be if you were looking to resurrect a certain all-powerful monster.

DRINKING CONTEST: How to PlayIn order to earn the next piece, the youma of this town have called for a test of endurance. An enormous petrified tree stump serves as a central table for both the establishment and the event: resting on top of it is a towering, literal pyramid of steins made of everything from glass and stone to wood and bone. There have to be hundreds of them, and each one is filled to the brim. It's obvious what you're expected to do. Do you think you can out-drink your peers? INSTRUCTIONS:Make a drink attempt by rolling TWO 6-sided dice during your post. The FIRST number is simple: it determines how many drinks you managed in one go! Your SECOND number assigns the kind of drink you're guzzling down, and each one has a unique effect... 1: You majorly lucked out. It's water! Slightly murky and brackish, but it'll do. Your total remains unaffected.
2: Whether the acid spatters it leaves on the table tip you off or you're unlucky enough to chemically burn your lips on the stuff, you're quick to notice this drink is not fit for human consumption. Disregard your first number -- you finish ZERO drinks for this attempt.
3: ...These steins are all totally empty. Quick, pretend to drink before someone notices! In your eagerness, you also end up gulping down a couple filled ones without paying attention to what's in them. Add 2 drinks to your total!
4: This might have been an alcoholic beverage at some point, but it's since degraded into pure vinegar! The taste and smell is so potently awful that you can't finish all of them, no matter how hard you try. Subtract 2 drinks from your total.
5: It's a miracle -- against all ludicrous odds, you're drinking real booze! Enjoy it while you can! Your total is not affected, but your decision-making skills and physical coordination are.
6: This is the most delicious substance you have ever tasted AND YOU MUST HAVE MORE. The bartender notices your unsettlingly delusional brand of eagerness and slides some more drinks your way with a smugly suspicious grin. You get an extra roll! Try not to learn where this stuff comes from. Seriously. You may make three rolls a day. Please keep track of your total at the top of each post!You can win only 3 extra turns a day -- at which point the drink will drive you insane and turn you into a feral youma if you don't stop. This game will end on Wednesday at 8PM CST!

The second Howlite had seen the tavern, she'd known that she had to go in there. The door had been shoved open, a wide grin on her freckled face, and... What do you know. They wanted to see if their human allies could hold their liquor.
It would be RUDE to refuse that sort of hospitality, and if the drinks were free... "Fluo!" She sat at the bar, tapping the spot in front of her, eyes on the bartender. That was universal, right? "Sit next to me. This is going to be awesome," She eyed some of the strange drinks, "Or dangerous. That isn't mutually exclusive."
Pursing her lips, she considered. "I'll take.... Eight."
... Was this some kind of joke? There wasn't anything in it. Or, rather, that she could see. Maybe it was invisible. Either way, they were staring at her expectantly, so... She began to air, chug, and almost choked when a few of the refilled glasses contained actual liquid. Oh, well!
Wiping a hand across the back of her mouth, she shot her "superior officer" a lazy grin. "Game on."

Why had he signed up for this excursion again? Okay, so granted he didn't know he would be drinking 'on the job' as part of the job but...well, what could he do now? Entering the tavern behind Howlite, Captain Bismuthite held his breath...and his apprehensions. This could only end badly.
He just hoped he didn't fall asleep. He was a sleepy drunk, he'd learned during his short time in college thus far. He really didn't like the idea of falling asleep here. He didn't want to know what would happen if he did.
Never the less, one drink was slid to him. He was surprised it was....actually pretty damn good. He drank two more and...well he was starting to like this excursion a bit more,...and the drink even more so.
"Bring it."

No.... Seriously ? Hey, this was better than being carrired by a giant youma. Hands down.
She slid her way and took place beside Howlite, amused. "I had no idea youma knew how to party..."
She took the glass that was slid toward her, but thankfully did look before she could chug it.
"...Yeah, no." The trail it left on the table was clue enough that this wasn't good juju.

A hard laugh, as Fluorite refused to down any of her drinks, and Howlite clapped her on the back, before turning to see what her own pints had been refilled with.
The smile faltered, then, as she found a much larger number of equally nasty jugs o' acid.
"Uh, swap you?" When the bartender looked away, she pushed the glasses down the line of the bar, and shook her head. None for her, thanks. What was next?

Sugilite winced as the nasty vinegar passed her lips. Is this what alcohol tasted like? She couldn't see the appeal, at all, as a matter of fact it was straight up disgusting.
Glancing around, she saw others pushing aside their drinks. Well, it looks like she hadn't gotten the worst of the lot. Managing to choke down three, Sugilite couldn't bring herself to finish the two others. Maybe she'd get better results if she asked for more.

A tavern, oh god. Somehow he couldn't think of anything good for this events ending. He wasn't a drinker, simple as that. And he could picture drinking being involved, somehow. Taking a breath he headed into the tavern slowly.
Oh yes, drinking. Watching others he went and took up a seat himself. Ordering himself something, no telling what it was, he found himself with three drinks. The first one he gagged on for a moment, water it may be but god the quality was horrible.
Setting down the last container, formally filled with water. He didn't say he'd had water, just in case he didn't get so lucky next time.
A glance to the others around him, well one he knew and waved to. "Fluorite."

Well, at least she wasn't the only one - Fluo laughed when Howlite was handed enough acid to dissolve a lemon, but her laugh stopped when she got more of the same.
"Seriously ?" She sighed. "Look, no matter how much of that stuff you give me, in not drinking it." She pushed the new glasses away as well.

Oh, hey, bartender, this was NOT what he wanted. Bismuthite had hoped to get that rather nice drink he had lucked in to the first time, however this was not it. He managed to down one, but ugh, he couldn't down the other two. That was...that was horrible. And had him rethinking that maybe this was as bad as he thought it was going to be.
"You know, when I said bring it, I meant the good stuff," Bismuthite said at he pushed the other two fowl vinegar drinks away.

At least the next round seemed more potable.
The smell made her wrinkle her nose, and she sent Fluorite a long look from over the raised glass, before downing it.
"Holy chocolate covered youma--" She gagged, reaching for the second drink. Paused. Tried to lift it to her lips again. Nope. Shaking her blonde head, she pushed the drinks back.
"Nooope. Don't go for those ones. They take 'fermented' to a whole 'notha level."

Jarosite hadn't been expecting to be going drinking when he was called to the Rift. Starting a bar fight, eh maybe, but chucking eight drinks down in the span of five minutes? Not exactly on his priorities.
Six went down quick, and then he fished around for empty glasses, that weren't so empty, to prove himself. So it was a test of how well he could hold his alcohol? Er well, youma alcohol? This was going to be interesting...
