It had been an interesting few days, to be sure - starting with finding Alba being beaten up in a locker room and culminating in her acquisition of an adorable little legendary.
Said legendary was hanging off one of her shoulders - not because it was too big or heavy; neither of which were even the least bit true for the foot tall, two pound clone - but because it liked to cling to her shoulder to easily hide behind it when necessary. Or behind her hair. Although, 'hide' was subjective - in the Jirachi's case, if it couldn't see them, then quite obviously they couldn't see it. The little creature hadn't yet quite grasped the fact that whoever it was hiding from could see it easily due to the light purple star-shaped headpiece that stuck out like a sore thumb from behind the agent's back.
The aforementioned agent was currently walking down the grunt dormitory hallways, a tray of cupcakes in hand - white with vanilla frosting. Though the majority of the cupcakes had white frosting, quite a few had lilac or a pale pink color topping them instead. Claire paused in front of one specific door - it had taken a minor amount of effort, but overall it wasn't too hard to find out which one was Alba's - and balanced the tray with one arm to knock with her opposite hand, then replaced it to ensure the cupcakes wouldn't fall. The Jirachi was already leaning over her shoulder, waving one stubby white arm at them with its tongue sticking out of its mouth. Claire hadn't allowed it any just yet - though she had let the little clone have a taste of frosting after she was done. She really hoped he was in - the run-in with the trainee just a few days prior had worried her, and she wanted to make sure he was alright. Plus she had cupcakes. If he wasn't there, what would she do with all of them?

At the sound of the knock, there may have been the odd grunt or groan from inside. "Just a minute! Spook, can you- Thanks." There was the click of the lock being undone. "It's open!" Alba called, carefully sitting up on the edge of his bed.
His black eye had faded to an unpleasant, yellowish green, and he kept his right arm with the bruised wrist positioned loosely around his ribs. Since he wasn't going anywhere that day, and hadn't expected a visitor, he wore a simple pair of baggy, gray sweatpants, and a white sleeveless top. Some patches of different yellow and green tints decorated his bare arms. At Spook's excited reaction to looking through the door's peephole and quickly unlocking the bolt, he quickly glanced around for a hair tie before giving up. He wouldn't be able to tie up his usual ponytail, anyway, so he left his hair down and settled with putting on his glasses.

At his prompting, Claire twisted the door handle - carefully, of course, she didn't want to drop the cupcakes at the last minute - before shifting the tray to both hands again and pushing the door open with her hip. She noted with a slight quirk of one brow that she'd never seen him with his hair down before - was it really that long? - before pushing the idle thought aside as she closed the door behind her. "How're you feeling?" The agent asked as she took a few steps into the room, a small frown forming on her face as she noticed the assortment of bruises scattered over him.
The Jirachi, upon the door opening, stopped mid-reach before clinging to her trainer's shirt with both tiny hands. The only thing visible were a pair of lavender eyes above Claire's shoulder - that, and a similarly colored, large headpiece.

"Claire, hey," Alba greeted as she entered. Spook, of course, immediately locked her eyes on the treats. "Spook. Down," her human commanded in an amused but warning tone. The bell Pokemon pouted, but obeyed and returned to sit at his side. At the question about his health, he nodded with a tired smile. "Sore but recovering, thanks. They said I have to rest at least another couple days. Let the ribs heal and all that."
He eyed the lavender appendage to Claire's shoulder, and tilted his head to get a slightly better look. With a wry smile, he added, "You, on the other hand, seem to have something growing out of the back of your shoulder."

The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile, and she lowered the tray a couple inches. "She can have some if you'll let her, I brought them for you. I had a little... help making them," so saying while giving the pokemon at her shoulder a rueful yet affectionate glance as she walked closer to the bed. "And good, I'm glad they're giving you a few days, it looks like you need it. Did they give you any pain medicine or anything?" Hopefully they did, though she wouldn't be surprised if they gave him some common pain killers people took for headaches or minor pains, rather than something stronger.
"I do, don't I?" She replied with a chuckle, glancing to her shoulder again as the Jirachi's lavender eyes met her own. "Azdeif, say hello to Alba," the agent said in a clear voice, making sure to enunciate properly for the little legend's benefit - a benefit that would make itself crystal clear momentarily, in a small voice that sounded like the tinkling of a bell. Hello, the small voice said. Alba. The lavender eyes flicked from the person on the bed to the agent to whose shoulder it was still clinging, then back to the man again, as if asking 'was that right?'

Alba let out a breath that sounded like a faint chuckle, since he still couldn't do the real thing. Chest muscles were annoying in that way. "Don't tell her that. She'll swipe the whole tray from you, if given half a chance. Thanks. You didn't have to that. Oh um, should be room up there, if you want to set them down." He motioned with his head toward his tall dresser. Aside from some empty coffee cans, pens, and a small bottle of basic painkillers that was almost empty, the surface was about as barren as the rest of his side of the shared room. The other side didn't have much more personality, but at least they left signs that someone did indeed live there.
When he heard the small voice, Alba stared, absolutely speechless. "Did that... did it just..." He hadn't taken too many pills without realizing, had he?

"Mmh, can't have that," she said idly as she carefully moved a few things off to one side before setting the tray down. "Do you think limiting her to one a day or something would work?" Memories of her trying to handle Zeus's insane obsession with chocolate surfaced again - nauseating memories, at that.
She dismissed them with a slight shake of her head, then turned back to Alba with an amused smirk. "Yeah - psychic legendary," she explained, giving the occupied shoulder a shrug so the Jirachi would take the hint to float up a bit higher. It did, though tiny white hands were busy clasping and unclasping. Something suddenly stuck in the little legend's head, however, as its mouth formed into a tiny 'o'. She, it said suddenly. She.
The agent made an amused noise. "Technically legendaries are genderless, but Azdeif's decided she's a girl." Why the little clone had decided that - or how she'd even figured out the difference - she had no idea at all.

A few words stood out to Alba as he gaped like a fish, including the words "psychic" and "legendary." Arceus, he really was illiterate when it came to Pokemon.
"Umm, yeah. Limiting it may work." At least he knew he wasn't hallucinating, now. "Azdeif, huh?" he said, turning his attention to "her." Something about the Jirachi came across to him as being very... child-like. It was something that wanted to bring back several memories. He gave a fond smile. "That's a very nice name you have, Miss Azdeif."

Azdeif's mouth formed into another small 'o' as Alba spoke, then she grinned up at Claire - a grin that quickly disappeared when she looked at him again, though the smile kept reappearing and vanishing, the little Jirachi the epitome of indecision. Miss Azdeif? The bell-like voice said at last - a smile present on her face as she repeated the phrase, though it disappeared when she looked up at the agent. The small purple eyes searched her owner's face for some direction or instruction.
The smile reappeared on Claire's face as she made a vague shooing motion towards Alba, though it was directed at the little white clone. "Go on," she said in encouraging tones, "go say hi."
The little legend nodded and floated over to Alba - the smile gone again, replaced with a hesitant though inquisitive expression - then hovered a foot or so in front of him, mouth forming another tiny circle as she studied his face. A tiny white hand reached out to--
"No," a firm yet gentle voice said, and the hand immediately retracted from its intended target of Alba's injured eye. Azdeif turned to look at Claire once again. "No touching when someone's injured. Hurt," she amended after a moment.
Hurt, the small voice repeated as the Jirachi turned back to Alba, lavender eyes studying the discolored bruises before she hovered around him in a semi-circle. The little legendary finally floated down to land on the bed, then pointed at Spook and looked to Claire. Pokemon?
"Chingling," the agent supplied.
Chingling... Azdeif repeated slowly as she studied the other psychic-type curiously, clasping and unclasping her little hands again as though hesitant about how to approach her. A thought seemed to strike her suddenly, and she looked up at Alba instead of her own trainer. Name?

Alba watched the entire exchange in amused silence. He had to really fight to not laugh aloud at her curiosity about Spook. "This is Spook," he supplied, motioning to the bell that stood just a little shorter than Azdeif did. "Spook is my friend. She helps look after me." He kept his words simple, remembering how easily small children could be confused.
"Ching!" Spook chimed in greeting. In the blink of an eye, she went from standing almost stock still in observation, to hoping forward and leaning to reach for Azdeif's hand with her tassels.

Spook, the light voice repeated, peering curiously at the bell-pokemon as she did so. The little Jirachi peered down at the Chingling's offered tassels, took a glance at the agent standing nearby, then smiled shyly - after receiving a nod from Claire - as she slowly reached out to take a tassel in one tiny hand. Spook! She said again, more enthusiastically this time, and grasped the tassel in both hands before she hovered again. The Jirachi floated a little above the other psychic-type, studying the appendage she held very curiously. She let go of it suddenly, then did a back-flip before she landed on the bed with a grin, hands up in the air. Spook!
Something seemed to catch her attention though, and she lowered her hands and frowned. Friend? Her confused tone hinted she wasn't sure what the word meant, as lavender eyes flicked between Alba and Claire. What? She knew some things about the labs, had been told about missions and orders and obeying her new owner, who had shown her kindness and how good frosting tastes, but the agent had yet to mention that specific word to her yet. Was it a type of pokemon? Was it something pokemon did..? Something helpful?

Alba paused briefly. A memory was nagging at the back of his mind. "It's... uh..." He decided to go with a reassuring smile and, "A friend is someone you like. Someone you can get along with, and can trust." Yes, Spook definitely covered that criteria for him. She may not be much of a fighter, and he may baby her more than he should, but when everything was said and done, he could count on her to be there to cheer him on and help patch him back together. It was more than could be said for most of the humans he knew.

Azdeif held very still, the quintessence of attention while he spoke, her mouth in the shape of a tiny circle again. "Friend..." She repeated once more, a thoughtful frown forming on her face. She brightened almost immediately before floating up and starting to head towards Claire - except she suddenly disappeared into thin air. She reappeared almost immediately in front of the agent - who looked as if this behavior was just as normal as a person walking - and the little legendary pointed at herself, then at Claire, her bell-like tone hesitant and hopeful at the same time. "Friend..?"
A slight chuckle escaped her as Claire offered the Jirachi a nod. "Yes, friends."
Azdeif visibly brightened and did a back-flip in the air. "Yay! Friends!" She suddenly paused, however, to turn and look at Alba. The little clone floated a couple feet closer and pointed to him, then pointed at Claire as well. "Friends?"
