Hero alias: Quicksilver (Subject to change.)
Real name: Isaac Raziel (he goes by both his first and last name equally.)
Powers/abilities:
‘Quicksilver’/Roskyy Materialization: This is in fact not true quicksilver or mercury (though is very easy to mistake as such) but a very light metallic liquid that becomes very dense when compacted. Isaac has referred to this as ‘Roskyy’ since he first noticed it as a child, likewise calling himself a ‘Roskyyven.'
It should be noted that Isaac does not simply create this material but pulls if from what he calls 'the rifts in between places'.
‘Quicksilver’/Roskyy Manipulation: Isaac can manipulate roskyy without touching it-- he can stretch it, shape it, compact it or send it away-- the amount of which rests his limitations. Trying to alter or summon too much will leave him exhausted and cause his 'creation' to fall apart regardless, so he's very careful to try not to push himself.
While roskyy is very rarely found naturally and the power to draw it forth seems to be very rare, Isaac has the ability to control this as well. If another Roskyyven is attempting to manipulate the same Roskyy, it becomes a contest of will, endurance, and sheer power.
'Rift' Sense: While not a power that has an active use, Isaac can tell where 'the rifts where places meet' are nearby, thus allowing him to use his more active abilities.
Isaac likes to play with electricity a little more then he should, using roskyy as a conductor. He's also fond of making objects out of it-- anything that crosses his mind. Toy plane? Check. 'Pet cat'? Check. Shapeless heavy blob for dropping on or tripping people up? Check.
Once he's properly introduced to mechanical science (which he's bound to do poorly in,) he might even be willing to lend some assistance. An ultra lightweight superconductive metal that can be condensed must have it's uses, right?
Right now Isaac's powers rest in a more supportive role, but if he can control more of it or control it for longer he might be able to take a more... upfront role.
Which area is the character based/from: Upper Sewit, but his mother was originally from Tasea and carried with her a number of traditions, most notably the superstitions.
Age upon entering academy: 8, what feels like very young by his peer’s standards (and he knows it.) Because Isaac has been unable to control his power leaking into everyday life, his parents fretted that he needed to go to a safer place for him... and Isaac, hoping he might be able to make friends, figured it might not be a bad idea. But now all the other kids are older then him, bigger and scary and better then him...
How did your character get their powers: Isaac was both conceived and born at rifts between one place and the next. It’s hard to say what exactly those rifts were or where they lead to, but they seem to have leaked into Isaac’s very existence. In short, his powers were obtained at birth due to outside influences that no one was aware of at the time.
Motivation for entering academy: Isaac doesn’t really fit in with the other kids or even adults. He always tried very hard, doing his best to be the proper gentleman his parents brought him up to be… but that made people uncomfortable. And when that didn’t drive people away, it was usually the strange silver slivers that would sometimes appear like heat waves around him. It wasn't a problem when he was younger and his friends weren't old enough to notice how odd it was, but now...
Knowing his powers and knowing that people would never be comfortable around him until he could control them, his parents agreed that the Academy, a place safe away from home, would be the best place for him. When they brought this up with him he was at first reluctant, but his parents insisted on how good it would be for him. After all, he could let his ability show more around people he wouldn't later have to live with, right?
Faith in his mother and father overrode his fear of leaving them and when his ship came in he left with a stiff upper lip.
Strengths: Isaac has a very good understanding of his powers and how to use them as he has taken a child's approach to learning-- it's very instinctual with trial and error beyond that. He also has a will to learn from the more physical oriented heroes but as of yet has no training due to his age and simple lack of a teacher. (He also has a rather strong sense of justice, always a good thing when training to become a hero...)
Weaknesses: He's not very powerful-- while he does have a good understanding of his own powers and how to use them, he can't pull very much roskyy or manipulate very much at all. He also has a hard time explaining his power to others and very bad at controlling them when he's not actively thinking about them. (Sometimes roskyy will materialize around him when he isn't paying attention.)
Personality: Issac was raised to be very courteous, very chivalrous, and he holds these ideals very close. Above and beyond all else, he will always, always do his best to be an outstanding gentleman... unless he's moping or very upset.
Isaac wants friends more then anything. He's scared without his parents there and even if he didn't fit in very well back home, he knows he needs to go out of his way to be social and make friends. He's strangely displaced from his displaying his emotions on the matter-- he's not once shown anyone that he has to stop to gather his courage regardless of rejection.
Isaac is generally good tempered, happy and willing to help others out. He is, however, a sore loser and prone to holding grudges when he feels he's been wronged. He's as stubborn as they get about this... and it's one of his most childish forms of expression, belying his normally composed and mature (for his age) appearance. When he's upset, it isn't uncommon to see him sitting in a ball on his cot in a blanket, huffing and teary-eyed and trying to ignore everyone else. He can, as far as he's concerned at these moments, stay angry forever. (He can't.)
In short, Isaac is: Courteous/Chivalrous with a strong fortitude for his ideals, secretly lonely and scared, good tempered and outgoing, stubborn when he feels he's been wronged, apparently mature for his age with bouts of extreme childishness when he's upset.
Isaac is often found eating fruit-- apples, oranges, kiwis, peaches-- the juicer the better! He loves sweet things but generally tends to stay away from things that are sweetened only by sugar. He's not against helping out in the kitchen if it means he'll get something sweet... In fact, he loves making them! He's not comfortable cooking on his own, but he knows what to mix with what.
Sweets aren't the only things he enjoys, though. Isaac also loves music and bright, flashy things. Fireworks are utterly fascinating, thunderstorms are breathtaking, and if Cirque Du Soleil ever manages to cross dimensions he'll be the first one in line for their show.
He also likes to doodle pictures using roskyy because he can simply pull it off the paper (or whatever else he chooses to draw on) without having to use an eraser. He's not very shy about drawing on walls for this reason-- after all, he can clean it up in a moment without leaving any kind of a mess.
General backstory: Isaac was both conceived and born on 'the rifts where places meet' unbeknownst to his parents. It was because of this that Mrs. and Mr. Raziel gave birth to a very unusual child. As a toddler Isaac could be found playing with thin silver strings or balls, toys his parents had never bought him and had no idea where they came from. It wasn't until his older years that he realized this was unusual, when his parents saw him pull roskyy in front of them for the first time and proceed to mold it into a toy airplane. They panicked a bit before they finally asked him how he did it. Isaac, sill unaware of how unusual his ability was, replied with an equally unusual response. "The same way I always have. I just... tug on the strings that aren't there."
His parents worried about this. Here was their baby, hardly five years old and doing things no ordinary human should be able to do. They wanted him to grow up normal, away from the craziness of heroes and villains. This was their baby, and they didn't want him hurt.
It kept leaking into his life, though. He had a hard time making friends from the start-- he was too proper, too formal for the other kids. And when he did make friends, they'd get scared off. All Isaac wanted was friends, he'd cry to his parents, just like a normal kid. His parents were beginning to think that he would never be a normal kid, though. And if he ever was to be as such, he'd need to learn to control his powers.
Looks department: Isaac has very light blue eyes to the point of easily being considered silver, a trait that really should have tipped his parents off. Otherwise he looks very much like a normal (rather adorable) child of his age-- he has soft, messy blond hair and a slightly pudgy baby-fat build.
His costume design is as of yet undecided, but he does wear a mask, most likely made out of roskyy. (In his hero stage, he'll remove this.)
Without his hero gear, Isaac looks like this:

More on Rifts, Roskyy and Roskyvven:
Roskyy is the material that Isaac can summon and manipulate. It is very much like mercury in appearance, thus leading him to call it 'quicksilver' when he does not have the time or is unable to explain. This material is a liquid in it's natural state and very light, only a third of the weight of water. However, roskyy may be easily compacted into a very dense, solid form that will hold until temperatures reach the melting point of true silver (961°C / 1760°F) or is submerged in any corrosive liquid for extended periods.
It is highly conductive but not magnetic.
When it's uses are done and it's no longer being used, roskyy can either be sent back through another rift or left to sit on it's own. When left untouched by heat or unmanipulated for extended periods of time, roskyy will resume a liquid state (if it was a solid) and begin leaking into the ground. This seems to happen regardless of density of what's bellow it... it's unsure what happens to it after that or at what point it stops soaking in.
Roskyy itself is pulled from 'the rifts where places meet,' according to Isaac. When roskyy is found without Isaac's interference (and it can be found in small pebble size hunks very, very rarely) he says it's because there must be another roskyyven around-- another with powers like him-- or that a 'rift where places meet' formed there in the past and that roskyy there was a side effect of the two places meeting.
(It should be noted that while Isaac does not know this, roskyy is not pulled from the rifts in it's current state, but rather is a side effect of friction from him pulling energy through said rifts.)
'The rifts where places meet' is a hard concept for Isaac to explain-- they have no visible appearance, no feel, no smell-- they're simply there. A person who has some luck sensing extra dimensional activity or even paranormal might notice something off about a place, but it'll be hard to explain to another. 'The rifts where places meet' are just as likely places where quantum mechanics became confused or quantum entanglement happened... and so one with a sound understanding of physics might acknowledge an oddity. Whatever they are, they're certainly there and not so uncommon that people fail to notice them-- even if they don't know what they are.
Roskyyven are people who have developed an affinity for sensing these rifts and have the ability to manipulate otherwise formless energy. More often then not these are children who would have been born without an active power but a disposition for feeling the energy of things.
Because the 'rifts were places meet' are so noticeable to these people, they often become the focus of attention and sometimes the sheer focus on them helps to teach how to pull that energy in closer-- the act of which creates roskyy, thus roskyyven.
