Welcome to Lolli and Nyh's surprise basket event!

First and foremost an earnest Thank You goes out to Ririka, for the hard work and making this happy opportunity possible. <3

Just recently we received a surprise of not only two, but THREE baskets for our dear pair, Setsumi and Rokhan.
What's a person to do but let everyone have a chance on the fun? 8D
This will be a classic style RP event, where the lucky owner will be chosen based on the character they create for the baby in the basket.

~Meet the family~

All information posted below is from teepee blurbs and are subject to updates. n_~

User Image

Mother :: Setsumi

Setsumi is a mare that makes 'silence can be so loud' a way of life. She is a very shy individual because of her life spent mostly in solitude. As much as she enjoys tales of adventure and beautiful far lands, don't expect her to go rushing off to discover such things. Setsumi enjoys taking things slow to fully understand and appreciate everything she can. The few individuals that can successfully wait up at her pace are the ones she considers true friendships. But don't be fooled, while she is demure Setsumi is not one to be pushed around. Anyone daring to pressure her or her family will get a snort and perhaps even a good biting. She doesn't appreciate her boundaries being threatened, no matter how kindly she'll flex them. With this surprise of motherhood once more, Setsumi vows to be a stronger mare and be a better role model for her children to lean upon.

User Image

Father :: Rokhan

Rokhan is one of five children born to Malis and Kifo, 'trolls' from further south than the Kawani lands. He occasionally stops and visits Adaira and her teepee when out wandering far from his mother's home. Rokhan is stable, though sometimes it doesn't appear that way. He's a spiritual creature, like his Momma, and will not think twice about standing on the plains during a thunderstorm in order to better hear what the spirits are telling him, nor does he believe in sweetening up the truth. He can be seen as wild, and is honest to a 'T'. Apart from more "dangerous" side of him; Rok is a stallion that believes in trust, commitment, and random acts of kindness.

User Image

Half-Sister :: Kahili
(1st born)

Kahili is, as her temper says, adventurous. She wants to see everything and anything there is to see. She also loves to meet new people as she travels and isn't really afraid of anything. Yet. As a foal she didn't understand that kalonas were bad and thought they were just big bullies but she understands about most of them now that she's grown. She hasn't encountered anyone 'bad' in her life yet but that could change in the future.

User Image

Half-Sister :: Ake'ha'so
(2nd born)

[Akehaso has been missing since she was a foal. Her whereabouts and condition are unknown; Both Setsumi and Kahili keep high hopes that she will one day return.]

User Image

Brother :: Zul'aola
(3rd born)

The eldest of Rokhan's three children. Born to a family filled with love, but split by his father's wanderlust he has a fairly unhealthy rivalry with his brother and absolute adoration of his two sisters. As a foal he believed that with the unique feathers on his shoulders he could learn to fly, a fact that was completely untrue. In an attempt to prove others wrong he leapt off of a cliff and fell headlong into a lake. He was rescued by a rather promiscuous Guillian. For nearly all of his young-life and the beginning of his young-adulthood he looked up to the red stallion and did what he could to be the same way. All he got was a gross parody of Guillian's ability to love everyone for what they are. Zul'Aolani is brash, blunt, and beligerant. Three traits that have been with him since he came out of his basket. Since falling for Linn, his Dear Heart, he's softened in the way he sees his parents; but, has become even more protective and overbearing of her. For him - There are no gray areas. Things are as they are, one way or the other.

User Image

Sister:: Ai'jin
(4th born)

As a foal, Ai'Jin was excitable and very playful. She spent great amounts of time roughhousing with her brothers and exploring her surroundings, trying often times to keep from going too far from the family. Despite her explorations, Ai'Jin never managed to cross paths with another Soquili, her only acquaintances being family members yet. When not with her brothers, Ai'Jin spent a great deal of time with her halfsister, Kahili.
As an adult, Ai'Jin mellowed out considerably. While exploring still captured her attention a great amount of the time, her relationship with her brothers became a little less dependant. Never entirely alright with spending so much time on her own, Ai'Jin understood that growing would be different for each of them, and while she remained nearest their mother and sister, the boys branched off to explore themselves.
The family ties are a great deal to Ai'Jin, so she's very thankful that while Zully and Manji do expore, she does see them fairly often. She takes great pride in her close relationship with Kahili and her parents, and is more than glad to have them all.

User Image

Brother :: Jumanjii'
(5th born)

The son of a bashful mare and a free-spirited Troll makes for a very confused individual. While Jumanjii' holds great pride from his father's blood, his mother's temperance has played an important role on his behavior. Manners is a must, no matter what the situation! However, Manjii' will not let that hold him back from speaking his mind and doing things as he sees fit. Thing is, he has a poor way of doing so in a considerate manner, usually coming off as ignorant to anyone else opinions. Separated from his family at youth, Manjii was found and raised by a stern half-kalona stallion. Unfortunately, once Manjii grew out of the shadow of his mentor his ego seemed to glow from the freedom. He was his own man now, and could do as he please. And for a time he did, not caring how harsh his tongue or manners appeared to others. In his mind, the truth hurt and he was at no fault for stating such. Until one day, however, when he ended up in a vicious battle with another Soquili. The other scorned Manii for his arrogant ways and scarred his left eye in a violent excuse of making Manjii 'see' life more humbly. Now Manjii approaches life with a grin and is more relaxed in conversing with others. Except when it comes to mares, as they are a baffling mystery to him.

What do you think of this adventure, and how well do you fare on this semi-long travel?

Prompt 2:
With having three new bundles of energy in the family, your older siblings make great effort in helping take care of you. So it is no wonder that on occasion your parents ask them to babysit so they can take a mini break. What do you do in that time, and how do you regard your older siblings?

Soquili Name: Regin (boy) | Melisizwe (girl)

Name Meaning?: "Wise or Counsel" | "Leader of the nation"

# of Soquili owned: Five. (Teepee's front page isn't up to date quite yet, but each page has a different soq to it.)

Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I love to RP but life is making it difficult to, and sometimes I have to simply go with plotting. (plotting is so much fun though. xD Good trade off.)

Personality: Dignitary (both) would be the temper listed on the cert. Male, or female, this basket would grow up to be a prominent member of which ever group of friends he or she joined. (herd or family). They are a very serious type, and never would do anything on impulse. They think everything through, like to plan, and plot.

Soquili Name: Kanjin (both genders)
Name Meaning?: "introspection"
# of Soquili owned: 2
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? RPs, I’ve never really understood back plotting.
Personality: Patient (for both genders). Kanjin is a little slow at times, not in a bad way, but s/he is never the first to try or learn anything. In fact, Kanjin appears content to follow in his/her siblings’ shadows. This isn’t because the foal is unintelligent, but rather the opposite. Kanjin is very patient and observant, learning through observation and weighing out any risk before attempting something. Kanjin is rarely willing to take a chance and work outside of his/her comfort zone, and prefers to work within it to achieve his/her goals. S/he will achieve those goals, however, even if it takes a bit longer. Kanjin just wants to think of every possible outcome before making a decision! As for family relationships, Kanjin isn’t often at the center of things, but will occasionally make little offerings and gestures to show that s/he’s there should anyone need him/her.

Note: For the purpose of this prompt I am playing Kanjin as a male.

Kanjin followed along behind his siblings complacently, content to let them rush around and explore things as he watched them. The quiet, reserved colt saw no reason to waste his energy discovering things that he could learn through secondhand observation, especially not when they were doing a lot of walking. His ears flicked back and forth, taking in delighted exclamations and soft gasps, along with the murmured explanations given by his parents and the occasional shrill whinny of shock. He knew in a sort of distant way that he worried his family by the way he didn’t act like his siblings, didn’t appear to be keeping up with them. In fact, he didn’t appear to act like a normal colt at all.

But that was silly, of course! He was just as curious as his siblings, but he had his own way of learning, and his own pace. Why should he act like somebody else? It was all just so silly! He was startled out of his thoughts by a sudden squeal up ahead, which quickly changed into a laugh of delight. Curiosity piqued, the colt trotted forward to where he had hear the sound, and found himself looking at… a lot of white. Was this what his parents had herded him and his siblings here for? Hesitating just outside of the vast area of white, he felt the reassuring crunch of twigs and dead leaves under his hooves, and proceeded to dig his heels in, refusing to move forward another step into that great white unknown.

No. No, no no he was not going to take another step forward! Kanjin needed time to watch, to think, to make plans and decisions and – mentally flailing at the thought of how much preparation he was going to need in order to properly encounter this new thing without risking himself, he sidestepped, and his shaky foal legs chose that moment to betray him, sending him stumbling forward to land with a squelching sound as he abruptly sat straight down in the… the white stuff. For a moment, he was almost too panicked to think, and just sat there until he became aware of just how cold this substance was.

His rear end was cold now, and growing colder! And it even felt kind of wet, too. Shuddering, he pulled himself to his hooves and stood there, looking around miserably as his breath made frozen clouds into the air. Had anyone seen that? Kanjin hoped not, because that had been the exact opposite of what he had wanted. Though, while it was through his own observation and his own mistake, he had learned some valuable information. The first thing was that this white substance was cold. That made sense, really, since everything was cold right now – even him! The second was that it was wet, as his still cold and damp rear attested to. Kanjin was fairly sure that he didn’t like this stuff very much, and that he wanted to go home.

The small colt was pretty sure that wasn’t going to happen, however, so instead he shook himself off and took off at a dead run back for the edge of the forest, to the dry and crunchy twigs and leaves. He would watch from here for a while before he dared to venture out into that mess again, and no-one was going to make him do otherwise.

Soquili Name: Girl: Liking Filana, Dukina, or Jelen
Boy: Liking Goigan or Tignus
Name Meaning?: none I know of... (WoW character maker page ftw)
# of Soquili owned: 10- 2 of which I co-own
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I prefer rp's but I can and will back plot if the other individual is unavailable for RP.
Personality: (gender doesn’t effect personality) This colt or filly will be a story teller. As such there will be some a time in his or her life that she'll wish to venture out and see the world in order to get new materials for his/her stories. He/she will be calm in nature much like it's mother though underneath lays a fury best left alone if it's avoidable. Strong family ties are held dear and pride for her troll blood ties and ancestry runs deep.

(Replying as a filly for this and using the name Jelen)

Jelen’s mother and father left her in the capable care of her older siblings so that they could catch some time for themselves. Watchful eyes looked up taking it all in, every moment as her sister Ai'jin walked ahead of the three foals, leading them out into the pasture of brown, drying grass. Beaming, she picked up her pace so that she was now beside her sister. "Ai'jin... DO you want to hear a story?" Her look was a mixture of excitement and hopefulness at the same time. Ai'jin smiled and nodded her head to amuse her younger sister. "Really?" Her eyes were large as she looked back to see her other two siblings that had been her basket mates smiling wide she then looked back up to her older sister. "Shall we all stop soon and I can tell you one?" She looked very hopeful at this. She wanted nothing more than to share her stories with her family and entertain them and others as she could.

Ai’jin finally stopped and chuckled. “Sure thing little one. How does this look for a story spot?” Jelen grinned and nodded enthusiastically. “This looks great!” She Waited for her three siblings to get comfortable before starting a story. It wasn’t the longest story she’d ever told, more of how the trolls came to be in these lands. Of course she’d added her own embellishments to sweeten the plots but none the less, she was happy relating the story all the same. Just the look on their faces as they seemed to hang on her every word was enough to secure in her mind that this… the joy spread through her stories, was what she really wanted to do in life. She wanted to tell stories to anyone and everyone that would hear them from her.

Soquili Name: Cacciare (Male), Mois Lunaire (Female)

Name Meaning?: Hunt (Male), Lunar Month(Female)

# of Soquili owned: 1 full owned Basket and 1 Co-Own <3

Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I'm falling in love with the whole thing about plotting and RPing. Back Plotting I'm assuming is playing as a foal, even though your SoQ might be grown, which I'm cool with x3 <333 I think it would be fun either way really <3

Personality:
Male:
Cacciare is adventorous, loving to explore new things and being the first to try something. He can be timid and shy when he meets new Soq. He enjoys paying mind to his manners and trying to take care of anyone younger than him. When alone, he tends to enjoy his quiet time. Playing with his siblings is pretty much his favorite activity, leading them to new places and thinking up new ways to enjoy playing together. He adores his mother and thinks she does a wonderful job at teaching him things. He generally returns the favor by trying to teach her new things too, even if they might now be one hundred percent correct most of the time. Overall, he enjoys his live at home and his surroundings.

Female:
Mois Lunaire looks up to her mother and older sisters like they were some kind of Gods. She tries to be like all of them at once, which sometimes leads to confusion. She often looks to her brothers and father when she feels vulnerable. She expects them, as the males of the family, to protect her from anything that might harm her, although she tries to be independent all at the same time. She loves being around her other basket siblings. Following them around no matter what they are doing. If they are up for adventure, she's all for it. If they wanna lay around, she's good with that too. She is kind, gentle, and is painfully honest. She cares about every living thing, not hurting even a bug.

Prompt Reply:

Your mother and father, ever the travelers, urge you and your two siblings on a trip just beyond the woods to see areas already blanketed by a shallow coat of snowfall. What do you think of this adventure, and how well do you fare on this semi-long travel?

Male:
Cacciare ran a bit ahead of his siblings, eager to see what there was to see and even more eager to find this snow stuff his parents were talking about. He HAD to be the first to see it... he wanted to make that his mission! As he continued along, he heard a strange sound. He had seen other animals and things in the woods before, so he didn't bother him too much. He decided to go over and see it. As he approached the bush, a rabbit familiar jumped out! Frightened he started moving backwards, falling on his rump. The rabbit familiar giggled at him before hopping away. "Stupid rabbit..." Cacciare glared at it as it hopped away. As he got back up, he noticed the distraction seemed to 'cause him to fall behind from his siblings. Trotting along at a slow pace for a bit, he lets them get a little further ahead of him before bursting into a full gallop, easily catching up and then overtaking them. "HA! They are waaay slower than me." He slows down after getting a good distance ahead, deciding that a walk would be a decent pace at this point. Stopping a bit further up, he started sniffing at a tree, it just smelled funny. As he pulled back his nose, some sticky sap clung to his muzzle. "Ewww...." He licked his muzzle cleaning most of it off. "Weird stuff..." He looked around for his siblings, seeing them getting close again, he ran over to them, trotting a circle around them before trotting back off again. He liked being able to fun circles around his siblings, but he mostly assumed that they simply didn't want to race him... they never did. As they progressed further, he saw another interesting thing. Walking over to some flowers, he noticed that there was some white cold stuff on it. Licking it, he realized it tasted like water. He happily chomped up a few of the flowers, licking at some of the frost. He and his siblings had already traveled a pretty far distance, they could see the edge of the woods. Excitedly running off ahead of his siblings, Cacciare bounded right into the small clearing. Touching his hooves against this strange cold white stuff made him stop in his tracks, his siblings almost running into them in their excitement. They sniffed about the ground, licking up the snow. They all agreed that it was fluffy, cold, wet, and that they LOVED it! Excitedly they started their journey home. Cacciare couldn't wait until the world was covered with that stuff! Then he could play in it all day... maybe figure out some games his siblings would play too...

Female:
Mois Lunaire, who her siblings usually call Mois, wasn't enjoying the walk so far. She was excited to see the fluffy white stuff her parents told her was snow, but she simply didn't enjoy long. She went along because she enjoyed being with her basket siblings. They were fun to play with. She trotted a bit behind the two, looking left and right. Oh! What's that behind that tree! As she turned her head, she saw something dart behind a nearby tree. Not worried about her siblings getting too far, as they were stopped up ahead looking at something else, she went and sniffed around the tree. A fox familiar poked it's head out of it's hole and touched her nose! She backed up a bit and stared at it. The fox smiled a bit and darted back into it's hole. Mois sniffed the hole a bit before walking away to go see her siblings. They were still looking at something, so she went over to where they were. She looked at the stick there were staring at, wondering what was so interesting. They got over it quickly when whatever they were looking at seemed to have moved on. She continued to follow them, sniffing at the ground, trotting a bit ahead, then falling a bit behind. They nudged at each other and head butted each other a little as they continued on their walk. Forgetting how long the walk was, Mois was actually enjoying herself. Before they knew it, they came to the clearing, seeing the white fluffy stuff. She licked at it. Wow! It melted on her tongue and became water! Her siblings were doing the same, all of them walking a bit into the clearing, kicking the snow and digging it up. They were enjoying this cold wet stuff. Before they knew it, it was time to go home. Mois was excited for the walk home. She would explore a bit more with her basket siblings, then they would all cuddle and take a nice long warm nap!

Soquili Name: (m :ll: f) Inesh :ll: Abihishri
Name Meaning?: strong king :ll: fearless beauty
# of Soquili owned: Laures, Lady Liliah, Zorana, Giolladhe, Semuan-Ya Vasszuraj, Li Ronen Xolani, Fei Yen Li, Keilani, Raveena - so 9 (though 1 is co-owned)
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I like to rp but due to rl, plotting is easier.
Personality:
If boy- Sedentary
If it was up to Inesh, he would never have to leave the comfort and safety of his home. Why would he ever want to leave, he has everything he could ever want right here? He is shy, not liking to have anything to do with others outside of his family, barely speaking even to answer direct, specific questions. Part of this is the shyness, but even moreso is the speech impediment which causes him to stutter and stammer badly, unless he concentrates on what he is saying.

If girl- Audacious
Abihi is quick to challenge conventions and ideas, wanting to know the reason of how and why, always looking for the better way. She is not shy in the face of strangers, dangers or trials. She is bold, willing to get in the face of those she is questioning, though she does have the common-sense as well as the intelligence to know when she has gone too far and when she shouldn't cross the line, when she needs to back off. She is a thrill-seeker, never wanting to be bored, so she will travel anywhere and search for anything- as long as it will get her blood pumping.

Common aspects of personality- no matter what, they will have strong ties to family and kin, be kind (though when/if necessary willing to defend themselves and others physically), be patient and understanding, faithful/devoted (in romantic relationships as well as normal friendship),and look ill on betrayal not being able to truly understand it.

Note: For the sake of the prompt, I will be assuming the basket is female.

For the past few days, Abihi had noticed the strain around her mama's eyes. So it was no surprise to her when mama said that they would be spending the day with one of their older siblings. The news was exciting and welcome. She wondered which of the siblings had returned home and would be their watcher. She hoped that it was Kahili. Kahili had the most interesting stories to tell. Abihi knew she wanted to be just like her big sister when she grew up. She bounced excitedly behind mama and her basket-mates. The day was going to be so much fun!

Her spirits lowered just slightly when she saw that it was not Kahili who was waiting for them, but 'Manji. Not that she disliked 'Manji or anything, she just… just didn't understand nor get along with him overly well. They were too much alike to get along well or easily.

She kept the smile on her face and went to greet her brother. 'Hiya, 'Manji. So what're we gonna do today?'

Ideas and plots passed through her mind, while he wasn't her favorite of siblings, nor was he the worst, just the most dull -at least in her mind. He needed to be more fun. Perhaps a game of hide-n-go-seek? Or even if she could somehow manage to get 'lost' that could be fun...

Though unbeknownst to her, all the thoughts passed over her face. 'Manji walked over to her side and lightly tugged her mane, pulling her out of her thoughts.

'Don't even think about it Abihi. There's not gonna be any games or 'getting lost'. We're gonna go and find some treats for mom.'

' 'Manji, that hurt,' she started to pout a little, but perked up at the mention of travel. She enjoyed going places, there was usually something to find, or exciting to do. The fact that they were also doing something nice for mama that was also enough to ensure that she would behave, at least as much as she could.

Knowing his little sister's penchant for getting into mischief - it was no wonder that mom was stressed and needed a break- he knew he would have to keep a close eye on her. After all, he had been much the same when he was younger.

'Abihi, I want you to stay close.'

'Yeah, yeah. Whatever.' She agreed, not really paying much attention to what exactly was being said. She was too busy imagining what the place they were going to would look like, and what sort of trials would be there.

Perhaps a wide open plain, were she could run, unfettered and free and finally beat the wind. Or perhaps a forest clearing where there could be an obstacle course where she could challenge the others to try and beat her. Or, or...

There were just so many interesting possibilities. Perhaps one day she would experience and conquer them all.

Soquili Name: Boy - Rey'jin // Girl - Varnzula
Name Meaning?: Both are names of WoW characters of mine. :3
# of Soquili owned: 4 - Saluki, Sallexis, Ramiro, and Mei-Li
Do you prefer rps or back plotting?: I'm more partial to RPs, but I like the occassional Back Plot here and there as well.... So both.
Personality:
Boy: Observant - Rey'jin is quiet, often keeping most things to his thoughts as he watches everything around him. He soaks up his environment like a spoon and is most likely to remember even the smallest detail of an area that most others might miss. Same goes for when he watches other Soquili. He's smart and can easily determine one's motives just by watching them for a short while (at least, when he's older, anyway). Because of his quiet and calm nature, he always comes off as caring and sometimes admirable by the amount of respect he holds for each Soquili. Manners are never a question as he seems to live by them, however he will hover on the boundary of protective and brash should any of his family be in danger or threatened.
He does live for some simple joys though! He loves to roam and venture to new places 'cause that's just more stuff for his noggin' to collect upon.

Girl: Skittish - Varnzula is a shy little thing. She's not exactly jumpy - like her personality suggests, but rather the definition of skittish that classifies someone as easily excitable, or restlessly or excessively lively. There's a slight hint of demure that she gets from her mother, but more often than not it is quickly over-shadowed by her nervous perspective of things. She hasn't had much (if any) reason in which to by so nervous and shy over anything thus far - and most can hope she doesn't ever have to in the future - but she just is. Her nature leads her to be cautious of everyone. This includes her siblings, since playtime would undoubtedly get a little too rough for her tastes.

Soquili Name: Kaz'Ronae or Rikkari
Name Meaning?: Peaceful death or tusked wanderer
# of Soquili owned: A lot >_> though it'd be awesome to own a tusked baby from further down the family tree <3
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? Both!! Though recently I have done more backplotting rather than RP as costuming has taken up my time.

Personality: Kaz'Ronae takes after his father as he is straight forward and honest, however his demeanor is much more like his mother in the respect that he is more likely to stop and think about something before taking that first step forward. Kaz is the strong quite type who is very protective of his family and the ones he cares about. His favorite thing is to watch the world, observing the ways everything flows into each other. Preferring silence to lots of noise and chatter, he can sometimes feel a little overwhelmed at home but there is no place he would rather be. There is a chance the trollish wonderlust will kick in when he grows up but it might take another to prompt him to leave the nest. A thought I have for him is that he can get tangled in the wrong side of the trollish war if he ever went to visit the Vitterfolk as Tuuli is working from the inside and would find him a useful pawn. However, when he realizes the path she is taking him down he would probably turn her in. He could also be one of the few who pull Rynn out of the shadows when she gets lost, bringing her back into the family and setting the stage for Zev's arrival. His quiet and supportive nature would help him with that.

Rikkari is a tomboy, sprightly and energetic with a grand love of life. She has a tendency to look before she leaps but so far has been lucky to keep out of most troubles. Rikki's biggest weakness is food and has a soft spot for apples, usually going out of her way to get a bite of the delicious morsels. She is a believer in the spirits and will at one point travel to see her grandmother for training. Her dream is to make her family proud and also meet as many people as she can. She is fascinated with the differences of all the races and can sometimes point out things that might not always be polite. However she has a heart of gold and can be quite loyal to the soquili she 'adopts' as her own. I can see her falling in with Voodoo and the Horde if she happened to go traveling. Wanting to prove herself, she could push herself a little too hard and learn that sometimes finding your own niche is a better idea than trying to follow in some lofty, unattainable goals.

Prompt Reply: Winter is fast approaching, and this will be your first experience with the chilly substance called snow. Your mother and father, ever the travelers, urge you and your two siblings on a trip just beyond the woods to see areas already blanketed by a shallow coat of snowfall. What do you think of this adventure, and how well do you fare on this semi-long travel?
(from Kaz's perspective but with Rikki included so you can get a feel for both)

The weather had taken a drop for the worst, harsh winds blowing across the plain the family had called home for the past few days. With a twinkle in his eye, Rokhan had woken their children early with the intent to show them something new. His siblings woke up first, Kaz preferring to wait until he was sure no one was going to jump on him this time. After taking a few steps he eyed his brothers and sisters wearily, sure that if it wasn't one of his basket-mates it could be the elder ones in a playful mood. With a final stretch he trotted out to find out what his father wanted them to see. After being told the surprise was just over the next rise he prepared himself for the trek.

It wasn't every day their parents kept the destination a surprise and Kaz was curious to know why the secrecy. The chilly air made his breath come out in quick puffs as he trudged along, feeling the hard ground beneath his feet. He was more used to the springy nature of the lush green grasses but recently that had become a little scarce as the small family had moves ever increasingly northward. He knew he was headed towards the mountains, he had overheard his parents talking a few nights back, but not much more than that. Lost in thoughts it was a surprise when his sister came bounding up.

"Whatcha doin' there?" Rikkari had a grin across her face, excited to be out and about. "Ya be all makin' faces an' such like ya got better things ta be doin'!" She nudged him with her shoulder, causing him to have to jump to the side or face visiting the ground for a quick trip. "Ya got some secret trick in ya head or ya just flyin' in ta clouds again... silly brother, ya know ya can't be flyin'!"

Kaz'Ronae snorted before he spoke. "Ah be just enjoyin' te cool air Rikki, that be all." He had been enjoying the quiet moment also but sadly, those were fleeting with his siblings being around. He was about to add in a little more before something new caught his attention. The foal stopped and stared. Right over the ridge they had crossed the world spread out as far as they could see... completely pristine white, only marred by a few trees and shrubs, their stark dark branches contrasting with the pale snow. "What te spirits..."

"Oh sweet!!" Rikkari bounded on ahead, "Look Ma!! It's white!!" She dove straight into the valley, stirring up the cold white flakes with her hooves as she barreled into the snowy banks. "Ooooooohhh... and it's COLD!!" With a few more bounds she raced back up, a bigger grin on her face than before. "This is fun! Ya should try it out!!" Without asking for a response she headbutted Kaz down the hill into the snow. "Seee!!"

As their parents looked on, the siblings checked out the new experience. Kaz, after rudely being pushed into the cold wet stuff, reached down with his nose to sniff at it. Other than crisp and cool, he couldn't smell much... though it did quite remind him of water. With a quick lick he tested out his theory and was surprised with the sharp frozen feeling upon his tongue. Still, it did seem interesting and he took another bite, feeling the sharpness as the cold snow bit back. Dancing around on his hooves for a moment as the frozen feeling went to his head he shook it out before chuckling lightly. This was definitely curious stuff! It tasted like water but was much much colder... almost like the spring they had found once that had bubbled up from the ground. He turned to look behind him and noticed that with every step he left a trail; so did his siblings and his parents. Though, while his siblings had run on ahead and was leaving large, messy tracks, his parents, with their longer legs, left only light tracks in the snow. With an idea Kaz tried to lift his knees high, turning his head back every now and again in the off chance he managed to do the same. After a few minutes of practice he was proud to see hardly any marks of his passing... that was until his sister came barreling through again.

"Why ya just standin' there! Come on slowpoke!!" With another laugh she disappeared off and Kaz'Ronae looked up realizing the family had already moved down to the center of the valley. Not wanting to be left behind he forgot his practice and followed his racing sister, gasping for breath in the cold sharp air as they caught up to their parents.

Rokhan turned to them with a smile, "So? Enjoy the surprise?"

He was answered with a resounding, "YES!"

Soquili Name: Io'lani [male or female]
Name Meaning?: "to fly like a hawk"
# of Soquili owned: 7.5
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I love to do both heart I RP a loooot. I'm flexible either way~
Personality: Determined. [Going with the male pronoun. Personality and response are the same for both genders.]
Io'lani follows the saying that "the only rule is that thou shalt not get caught." He is determined to do what he wants, whether it means bending the rules, finding loopholes, or ignoring them. Normally, this attitude shows up when he wants to play - if he is told to quiet down, he'll go somewhere else to be loud, even if he gets in trouble later. A little rebel at heart, 'Lani loves his family and idolizes his father, trying to be like him at every turn, though 'Lani tends to make mistakes that get him in trouble. He generally gets bored and antsy when he's not moving or playing with something... But his favorite pastime is playing tricks on things.

Prompt Reply: [Prompt 2]
Io'lani waited impatiently for his parents to leave. They were taking a break for a few hours, and leaving him with his older siblings. He was bored of just sitting and behaving - couldn't he just go do something? Annoyed, he rolled over on his back, watching Ai'jin and his other siblings from an upside-down point of view. As soon as his parents were out of sight and earshot, 'Lani rolled over. Finding a piece of pounded bark to tug on, he walked up to Ai'jin with it half in his mouth. "Cahn vee go pway now?" he asked, rolling his eyes as his other siblings laughed behind him. Spitting out the bark and scraping his tongue against his teeth to get the taste off, he tried again. "Can we please go play now?" He smiled and attempted to cross his ears under his mane, but it didn't really work - they were too short. "I'm booored."

Hoping she'd say yes, 'Lani stood up straight, eyes gleaming with anticipation. Even if Ai'jin said no, he had a plan - he could sneak out when she was busy with the other two. After all, they were just as much of a handful as he was... Weren't they? He tilted his head as he thought about this. His parents always laughed about their troublemaker son, though once in a while they'd get serious with him - could Ai'jin handle the other two better than she would be able to handle one of him? "Hmm"ing slightly, 'Lani waited for her reply - whatever she said (it all depended on her mood these days), he'd still get to play... I just won't say where, he thought mischievously, mentally smirking.

Soquili Name: Female: Mari Male: Ba’al
Name Meaning?: Female: I was thinking about the personality, knows what they want, when they want it, does not want to wait around and randomly thought of the heroine Vixen from DC comics, her first name is Mari, no special meaning. Male: Lord/Possessor, a god of storms and fertility (the curls remind me of wind/waves so I liked the idea of a storm based name)
# of Soquili owned: 4 (one is a co-own)
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? RP, but I prefer to have some idea of where the rp is going.
Personality: (Both, but I will be writing the personality/prompt using female pronouns) Mari knows what she wants, when she wants it, and she wants to keep things moving. She can be impatient, and as a foal is the type to race ahead of her parents, unable to just settle down and enjoy the scenery. As she ages she will gradually be able to appreciate things around her, but will still be unable to take things slowly. If she has a goal in mind she can be bossy and demanding, trying to get things done on her time schedule. Without a schedule she still wants to move quickly, but she’s willing to listen to others (aka she doesn’t have to be in control all of the time, but she’ll step up when she needs/wants to). Actual listed temper would be driven.

Prompt Reply: Prompt #2
Babysitters are for babies, Mari thought to herself as she wormed her way between a tree and an overgrown bush of some sort. Her older siblings were nice, in fact she really liked them, but she did not need to be constantly watched over like the other foals. Let them stay back there and graze, Mom and Dad never go this way to the stream. Besides I tried to tell them, I said I was going to the stream and no one would go with me so I’ll just go by myself!

A few minutes later she began to realize why her parents never took them this way. Any traces of a path had long since been overgrown, and with the trees and dense brush it was nearly impossible to head in the direction she wanted to go. She was just about to admit defeat when the sound of something coming along the trail behind her reached her ears. She turned, ears flicked forward in an alert position as she backed up against a tree, wanting to have at least one front blocked while she scanned for an exit strategy.

But out of the forest came not a monster, but rather Ai’jin. Her faced showed a myriad of emotions: concern, annoyance, happiness, relief, and even a touch of anger. “Why on earth did you run off?” she questioned, finally settling on a stern look. “You know better than to run off, and to here of all places.”

Mari gave her a sheepish look, something she could still pull off at her age. “Sorry Ai,” she replied, though the ease with which she spoke hinted at numerous previous apologies just like the one she was giving. “I just really wanted to see what was down here.” She took a few steps forward, noting that the path was at one of the rare open places where two soquili could fit side by side. “But if we get back before Mom and Dad they’ll never have to know…right? I’ll race you back!” With that she bolted forward, racing past Ai’jin to get to the narrow trail before she could react, ready to head to her next adventure.

Soquili Name: Daithi for a boy, Ailis for a girl
Name Meaning?: Daithi {Da-HEE} means swift, in Gaelic. It seemed a name that the troll daddy would be proud to give his son. Ailis {AY-leesh} means kind and noble, which I picked more because it seems something the mother would like. I love both names, and would be happy with either a boy or a girl.
# of Soquili owned: 1.5 {co own one}
Do you prefer rps or back plotting? Honestly, I'm pretty even on this.
Personality: Their listed temper would be Relentless.
As for a more in-depth look at their personality, both boy and girl would be driven to wander by their fathers blood. Oh, it's not like they don't love their...somewhat large family and being around them. Its just that they, like their mother, enjoy silence. The only way to get that silence is to go out on their own. Every two weeks or so they'll drop back in for a visit, if only to see their parents, but even before the day is done that relentless urge to walk, to see, to do will take over again. They need to get higher, they need to go lower, nothing can be left undone. And so, they'll leave again and pop back up only when whatever it was that had taken hold of them had been completed. Besides the wandering habit, they're also stubborn to a fault, slightly vain, and just a bit prone to getting in over their heads. They're also kind though, easy to talk to, and adventurous. While not the best soq ever born, they are by far not the worst and their personality makes them relatable to even the strangest of their kind

What do you think of this adventure, and how well do you fare on this semi-long travel?

*Note:
I will be writing as male for the prompt, though the female would react the same way.

Three small creatures stood upon the landscape, still and unmoving. The scene before them was a winter snowfall, perhaps the first winter snow fall. Out of the group, a small buck starred in wonder up at the blanketed sky. Small white dots had already started to fall, flurries blanketing his hair in a downy white. It covered everything, slowly at first and then with a growing rapidness. It was almost as though you were watching the world disappear. So entranced by it was he that he did not notice the cold, did not notice his siblings, did not really notice anything.

Nothing but the snow. Snow, that was the name his mother had called it. He'd marveled at the wonder in her eyes as she'd said it. That had been three days ago. The journeys provisions had taken a day to pack up, and then they'd waited two more to make sure that the trip would not be for nothing. Those days had set a burning to his chest. He'd needed to see this. Needed to see something other than his families herd.

The trip itself had been worth all of the wait. The trees, the animals, the sky. All the things he'd seen before, yet never quite like this. No, never like this. It was as though, with every step he took, he became more and more awake. Aware, that was the word. Aware of everything. From the breeze on his face to the small spider hanging from the limb above him. Daithi had thought that nothing could have overshadowed that experience. And now, he was here, and realizing just how wrong he'd been.

He was here, in this beautiful land where everything disappeared. Where everything melded into one vast landscape of white and he, small thing that he was, was just a dot upon it. It made him feel tiny, feel his youth. There was a new perspective here, one that said "You will come back to this full grown, one day, and still, you will only be a dot upon the white." It was a daunting thought, but it spurred him. The young horse ran over to his siblings, a new light in his eyes. They were already playing, one attempting to bury the other. His quick turn-up startled the one laying on the ground, causing her to jump. Daithi cast an apologetic look to them, sorry he had ruined their work. They just laughed though, their easy love for one another keeping them from anger. This was what his parents wanted, why they'd sent them on the trip. They thought it simply something children should do.

Yet, something else had happened. Within the white, he was made anew. It would not be easy to leave this new beautiful world and go back to his enclosed one, and yet he would have to for a time. Yes, only for a time. Nothing would keep him from this, nothing would keep him from anything. He'd see this world, know it, be it. Drink it in, he would. He'd do it all. A new resolve pounded in his child heart, making him smile. It was fierce and edged, not unkind but knife like. It was a knowing smile.

He'd do it.

He would.
