Amrita was at a loss. She spent all morning trying to fix it, and yet...she couldn't. It was impossible! It just wasn't happening, and she even had a couple scorch marks on her nice yellow jacket because of it. So badly that she had to take off the jacket, leaving her in a fitted rusty orange tank top and a similar colour bell pants, making it look suspiciously like a hippie one-piece that unbeknownst to her showed off her new curves. Today was terrible, and eventually she submitted to a simple fact; she needed help. Lots of it. So she started visiting the people she remembered to be tall (and was amazed that they were less tall now! A halloween miracle!), but they were either not in their rooms, or busy.
Hrmm...Okay, What now?
"...Oh!" Amrita lit up, fleeing to her own room before fleeing to the Reaper dorms, taking a look at the log book to find a 'Roch'. There wasn't just a 'Roch', but there were a lot that had Roch in their names somewhere; so she started her hunt, knocking on every door that she suspected to be the Roch she was looking for.
"Oops, sorry, wrong door." She said to the first not-Roch, who was too short and green to be him. "Ah, my mistake!" She said to the second one, who was too chubby and brown to be him (okay, so it definitely wasn't spelt 'Roach!'). The third door though, she knocked on and had to wait for the answer, one hand playing with her longer, more curly hair over her shoulder while the other one hid something behind her back.
Then, when the suspected Roch answered, she gave him a scrutinizing look over from head to toe; he looked like the Roch she remembered! Not as tall but that was too be expected; her new body was nearly two feet taller than her old one, after all! Not that her current 5'5 was tall...
"...Wasn't your hair purple before?" Was her eventual greeting. Sure Amrita, be confused with a hair change while you're the one that went through an entire body change.

Roch blinked, then reached up to self consciously touch his hair. Yeah, he still hadn't quite gotten used to the whole... red thing. But it'd been one of those quick decisions that he'd be stuck with for a while.
"Ah, yeah," he said, a slight grin on his face. "I thought it was time for a change." And to look less like his family members. "So what's up, Amrita? You need something?"
He could use a chance to get out of his room, anyway. Ah, and the food eating competition was coming up, too, right? That was cool. If he could keep himself occupied for the day he'll have forgotten about the problem entirely by tomorrow!

Amrita brightened instantly.
"It looks good on you! Red is a nice colour." Except when it had something to do with fire, then it was a stupid colour. But she left that part out. It was so nice to hear that he recognized her; she did undergo quite the drastic change in body appearance, after all! She was happy enough to hug him, but she kept her distance; a lingering personal bubble from her previous body. "Can I touch it?" His hair. It always looked fluffy, and now it was closer to her!
"...Eh? Oh! Um, yes, see..." She rubbed her bare, patchworked arm before drawing the one out from behind her back to expose a blue lollipop, not-so-discreetly offering it to him. Despite how it looked, the lollipop was not a bribe. She just had a lot left over, and knew he liked them! "Umm...I have a huge favour, see, my, uh, charm is stuck in a tree and won't listen to me..." She also left out the 'death' part of 'death charm', but that was by accident.
"I can't climb trees s-so...I was wondering...help...?" The ghoul bit on her lower lip, looking more and more sheepish.

He took the sucker. "Sure," he said cheerfully. "I'm good at climbing trees, it turns out. There's a lot more things to grab on to, compared to walls." Wait, what? Did he just say-- "Where's it at?"
He unwrapped the sucker, sticking it in his mouth happily. Bribery would get you everywhere with Roch, it seemed. Even if it hadn't been meant as a bribe. "A charm, huh? I don't think I got one of those. What's its name?"

"...You climb WALLS?" She sputtered in disbelief, gray eyes widening. Roch just gained +2 respect points! That didn't stop her from leaning up awkwardly onto her toes to pat his hair...and gave a very confused look. "Your hair is hard. Is that normal?" She was so observant, this ghoul. So, so very observant. His question brought her head down from the clouds, and after a moment or two of blank staring
"...OH yes, his name is, uhh...DC." DC the Death Charm. So creative. "--and we should go!" A cool, lightly green tinged hand rested on Roch's arm, trying to urge him out the door before someone else got to her DC, or worse...DC went elsewhere.

"I gotta gel it so it stays pointing up," Roch explained, reaching up and patting his hair as well. "Alright, let's go get DC, then." He willingly followed her, sucking on his sucker the entire time as well as wondering what sort of charm would go up a tree and not come down.
Maybe it was like a cat or something? "Have you gotten a guitar yet?" he asked as they stepped out of the reaper dorm.

"Ooooh...Is it hard to get the gel out?" She was going somewhere with this, really! The ghoul lead him out of the dorms and deeper into the school's grounds. "A-ah, no...I've been looking, but...I can't decide on one." She admitted sheepishly, using her free hand to tuck some hair behind her ear. "I've narrowed it down to three, though!" The pride in her voice was a tentative one, really unsure if himhawing this much was a good or bad thing. Amrita suddenly stopped with a gasp, as a Little Death Charm went bolting across their path; the gasp made the creature freeze mid-stride. "...DC!" She squeaked, letting go to do something she never imagined she'd do - run towards an obviously fire-type pet. Sadly, it stopped, saw her, hissed, spat tiny drops of flame, and bolted back the way it came...and up the tree it had been in, judging by the scorched claw marks that ran up it. Amrita's mood deflated instantly, and the appearance of fire made her practically paralyzed with fear; or at least that's how it seemed, since she didn't move much after her pet ran up the tree. "H-he's been th-that way since I got this body..." She said unhappily, clearly hurt by the Charm's actions.

"Um... y'know," Roch said slowly. "That's a FIRE type pet." He looked at how terrified she clearly was. "Are you sure you even want it back?" he finally asked. "I mean, clearly you're terrified of it, and it doesn't seem too fond of you, right now--how about we look for a non flame spewing pet instead?"
How rude, Roch! How do you know how they really felt? Well, other than the habit of getting your pants caught on fire.

"Y-yeah, I know...he's usually not..." The patchwork was rubbing her eyes with her backwards hands, palms naturally outward. "S-so mean to me." She finished, staring sadly up at the pet in the tree, whose growl made it sound a lot bigger. The thought of getting a new, non-fire pet made her heart hurt - well, if it could hurt - and she shook her head. "He was given to me in Christmas town...he's been with me since he was born!" Her old body was littered with teeth, claw and scorch marks from the once-happy DC, and even though she should be remarkably happy that he was avoiding her...she wasn't. Not at all.
"What if he doesn't come back?!" Her voice was starting to pitch, apparently quiet afraid that she was going to lose the most constant thing in her life, even if said thing did scare her on a daily basis. "J-just...can you try? Just once? Maybe he'll come down for you...?" Hope was for fools, and Amrita was most certainly one.

"Yeah, going up a giant matchstick for a flamer in a bad mood... um..." He frowned. "What does he like?" he asked her. "Any special type of snack, or toy, or something? Maybe he likes being sweet talked, or music?" he asked. "I can usually get my pets to calm down with a song or two." And that was saying a lot, considering that Jackdammit was fully deserving of his name.

...She hadn't condsidered the possibility of the tree being lit on fire. "No...I've tried all his toys and he won't listen to me..." With another heavy sigh she slouched forward in defeat. "I don't think he knows who I am anymore." Her scent changed with the body and her voice was much different; while there was still some visual and verbal cues that was pinned to 'Amrita', on the whole she was an entirely different person on the outside.
"I just...don't know what to do now." Which was why she had gone in search of someone to help her; plus being busy generally made her feel better, and allowed her mind to focus on something other than her upset. "You think I should just leave him...?" Now, she was looking to Roch for advise, and staring at him intensely.

"Amrita... jackdammit, let me give something a try," he said, hating the idea of her not being happy. He held up his fist and summoned his guitar. "Since this is the only jackin' thing I know how to do right," he said. "Let's try calming both of you down first." That's right, Roch, the only ways you knew to solve things were your fist or your guitar, he thought dryly to himself. He started playing a song he'd used a million times since learning. But it was still his favorite for calming himself down.

She couldn't help the little flinch she gave, something he said made her feel incredibly guilty. But she stayed quiet, clasping her hands in front of her and allowing him to do his thing. She really didn't believe him; she thought he was far from only having this one thing. Gray eyes closed and she just listened, surprised to find that it did as he intended; she felt better, calmer...but was that because of the music, or because she had a moment to think without being frantic? Hmm!
DC wasn't as won over, but he did perk up curiously. The music maker that the boil had kind of looked like the one his Amrita brought home a while back! He had stopped growling and had started purring (though the noises didn't sound remarkably different), but he didn't get down from the tree, staring down at them both with wide, white-hot eyes.
"Roch...I think it's working!" She whispered to him encouragingly, knowing the difference between DC's noises like halloween and christmas.

"Yeah, okay," Roch said, searching his mind for the next calming song he knew. He was going to take her word for it working, because seriously he had no clue. It still sounded pretty angry to him. Fur Elise, he thought. It was even more calming than Perfect Waves. He felt a little guilty for playing the same songs over and over again, but hell, they hadn't been there when he'd been trying to calm himself down. He could always play moonflower, he thought. It wasn't as if he could only play it when Xiu was nearby or anything. That'd be stupid.

Amrita actually liked theh song Roch played next; she was sure she had heard him play it before, but she still enjoyed it! Now her eyes were entirely on the Death Charm, though her backwards hands had found and subsequently curled into the fabric of his shirt, clinging there as though if she let go it would stop.
DC was, well, Charmed down from his post...meaning that he at least climbed down from the tree. He sat on the ground, staring at them both and purring away. The ghoul clutched Roch's shirt tighter, wanting so badly to say something; but she was afraid that if she did, her Death Charm would his and firespit again. Her silence seemed to help, and in the end the creature took off with an obvious hop to his strides, moving past them and away from them. The Vetala watched him leave, more specifically the direction in which he left.
"...Ohthankjack." Amrita breathed a sigh of relief, dropping her forehead to rest against Roch's arm, her grip on his shirt loosening just a little.
