With the White Raven out on a mission of her own, Skah Talutah had been left behind to his own devices. Though most of the murder followed the White Raven wherever she went, over time, some of the crows grew closer to Skah. Nowadays as he travelled he would never be seen without at least a pair of crows if he did not have the mistress in his company. Today there were two, a pair in fact, one male and one female. Their life cycles were the only ones that Skah really cared to study. They intrigued him, they lived in a massive group called a murder, and yet they still paired off into partners and some even chose mates for life. A strange concept that he did not understand. Then again, he had never met anyone worthy of his time since (or before, for that matter) he became the mistress's White Blood.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella stood still as she tried to filter the news. Her people...no, those who had once been her people were all dead. Or so it was said. Not many, if any had escaped. Her sister, Memory...she was probably dead now. It was one thing to be dead to one's family, and another to have them dead. Because as long as they live, there's hope that maybe someday you can set things right. But not now. She was gone. This separation was forever, or something close it it. She could feel the sorrow descending, why had she left to go with him? She loved him--she didn't regret it. But she regretted having had to lose them both. She could have died in the flames with her sister...then she wouldn't feel this pain anymore.

Skah didn't walk very often. That is, not normally in most cases. First off, he did have claws instead of hooves, so there was that. But, in addition to that, he walked differently depending on his mood. Right now, he was deep in thought, and as such, he crept along almost in a feline manner. Head somewhat lowered, each taloned toe being placed carefully and his tail whipping silently back and forth behind him. This concept of 'love' that was spoken of so often, was the hope that most beings seemed to cling to. It kept a pair together, and it offered those that are weak strength in times of need. Such a strange concept, something that he thought he had once experienced. A deep throaty growl and a lifted lip as he dismissed that thought. No. Love was something that was made up for those who were weak enough to need something to believe imaginary to believe in.
A scent was caught on the wind, and his nose quivered as he tried to identify it. Left... right... aha... yessss.... Lowering his frame some, he slunk towards the source of the scent in absolute silence, what exactly would he find that produced such a wonderful aroma? He couldn't wait to find out.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella's red hair hang loosely, sweat coating her. It was almost like she could feel the flames now. Surely her sister was gone. Everything was gone. He was gone...alone somewhere. Somewhere where she could not grieve at his grave...if there was a grave. It had cost her so much to let that be, but whatever peace it afforded him was worth it. Or at least she kept telling herself that

Thoughts now put on hold, Skah continued to creep forward his hair dragging along the ground, following the scent as it grew stronger, knowing that he was getting close now. Nose wrinkling, he almost began to drool over the beautiful smell, but it wasn't until he finally spied what it came from that he stopped and straightened up. Tilting his head to one side so his ebony mane fell mostly to either side of his eyes Skah took a moment to take the scene in. There she stood, pale and pretty but stock-still and he could swear she was shivering. A wicked grin spread his lips as he quietly strode closer. He approached her from the side, so perhaps she would not see him straight away. He hoped to get right up close to her before she noticed him, but in any case he did not say a word until he was near enough for her to feel his breath upon her skin. His voice was gravelly and broken, "Nightmares chasing you during daylight hours, sweet-one?"

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella shivered as the rank breath hit her, the words caused her to tremble in terror. What fresh terror had now alighted on her in her scattered state? What now had she fallen prey to? She wanted to give in, to not fight...to be with those she loved. But some primal desire was pushing her forward. Somehow she still wanted to live desperately. But why, after all she had been through...She turned her eyes toward him, "Must be...something so vile as you can't really exist...can it?"

His own eyes followed hers, leaving the two soquili gaze-locked for a few moments. Cold laughter trickled out of his maw before he replied to the mare, "Oh, you're too sweet. Really!" An evil glint in his eye, his head lowered just slightly, bringing his longest horn dangerously close to the mare's cheek. Gently it scraped her cheek before he turned his head away from her and began to circle her. "Perhaps I am just a manifestation of your inner demons, like you say. Afterall, why would any 'Creator' make a creature as evil and malicious as I?" As if to accent this, his tail whipped once, real quick to make a cracking sound behind the mare.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella felt the blood gliding down her cheek. His delicate cut had elicited it from her, but she did not flinch or shirk from him. "Perhaps you are from my nightmares. I think you're right, nothing would create you willingly--not a kind creator anyways." Her skin was crawling at his proximity and the cracking of his tail. "So what are you here to haunt me about today?"

His nose pointed up in the air as he inhaled deeply before dipping it back down to a natural degree. Her blood smelt so... warm. Licking his lips, Skah grinned as he tasted her fear and blood on the air. He paused a moment, tilting his head to one side as he considered what it was that this mare could have nightmares over. By the time he came up with an answer, he was on his second slow lap around her. While he replied he strode back towards her head, leaning in close again. What did anyone allow themselves to be haunted by? "Love." One simple word that explained it all. Most were weak enough to fall for this ploy, this conceited concept of love. Before drawing away from her to resume the circling he opened his mouth slowly... and licked the stream of blood off of her cheek. Eyelids sliding downward, he smacked his lips at the taste of her blood. Almost inaudibly, "Mmmmm..." and his feather-tipped tail grazed her side/limbs.

Nyx Queen of Darkness She shivered at his touch. Was he really just a phantasm, or had he guessed? It wouldn't be so hard, she supposed. But she had lived alone so long, taken care of herself. Scared? Naturally, but not broken. It was just starting, ebbing it and forcing it to her advantage. "Such a cliche answer really. I thought I'd at least get a good demon. But you..." She scoffed, "Did you flunk out of demon school?"

His eyes snapped open at her snide remarks. How dare such an insignificant speck talk to him like that?! Launching himself forward, he aimed to land with one dextrous foot amid her thick mane at the top of her neck behind her ears and the other one gently grazing the soft skin under her chin down towards her chest, careful not to pierce her skin. Not yet. Growling at her, his face pressed up against hers, he stood strongly on his hind legs, almost as if it were a secondary stance for him, cheek-to-cheek and flaming in anger now. "You know my answer is no lie. The ones you lost burn you from the inside-out. Leaving you here to walk the cold road of solitude, miserable and alone. Don't kid yourself, mare. You let it happen." His claws pressed a little harder, a physical threat showing that he could indeed just cut into her and end it all.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella felt his claws yanking her head back and making a path with his claws down her throat. She felt her anxiety quicken, but she pushed back the terror. "So you've come to tell me? Do it then, end my pain." What would it matter if she were dead? Dead wouldn't hurt anymore. "End me now if you wish. All you say is true."

"Mmmm.... yes..." a soft exhale, warm rank breath hitting her cheek first, then probably her nostrils shortly after. The grasp on her hair tightened, pulling her head back a little further so that she would inevitably be looking up, should her eyes be open, up to the dreary grey sky overhead. His other paw ran roughly back up her neck, leaving the lightest of scratches behind but when his talons made it back to her soft underchin he began to press a little harder. This time as he scratched back down towards her chest he drew blood, but these were not mortal wounds... not yet. He waited, anticipating her to give in to her imminent death at his claws.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Aella stood absolutely still. She was determined to not give him anything, nothing at all. He would not see her pain or her fear. He wouldn't get a scream from her. She felt the slices on her neck and back. They cut deeper, and something thrilled in her. She wanted to live. Desperately, it was if some animalistic desire in her was screaming for life. Her eyes flashed at him, and she jerked her head around to him, careful of his claws
