An rp to help me build Fergus' character. I will also be using my goat familiar, Lemon.

Fergus returned from foraging with a basket full of berries and a few flowers he knew Lemon liked to eat. Lemon waited for him patiently in the grass hut they built together.

"Well it took you long enough" Lemon nagged.

Fergus dropped the basket at her feet, "Satisfied?" he grunted.

Lemon squealed and immediately stuffed her face with greens. She hummed merrily and found a place in the sun to chew her food.

"Im sure that will last you a while, considering you like to chew your food when it comes up again." Fergus teased.

Lemon simply grunted and ignored him, but Fergus was feeling tired and thirsty after his morning hike. He lay down next to Lemon cozies close to her.
She slowly turned her head up to look at him, and she stared blankly at him for a bit as she chewed.

"Stop looking at me with your goat eye!" Fergus couldnt stand that blank look she would give him, she only did that to annoy him, it bothered him more that she knew it would work.

"I know your asking for milk..."

"No im not! I just want to sit by you, im tired and soo parched." He dramatized the word parched.

"No, you only get milk after I eat." Lemon told him as she turned her head away dramatically.

Fergus grimaced and stomped when he stood up. "Your such a stubborn goat!"

"As bitter as I am, I still make the sweetest milk." She teased to remind him why he puts up with it.

Fergus flicked his ears back and left to take a drink at the river. Instead of taking the path he usually did he took the longer way there, it was more overgrown and weedy. He enjoyed kicking the grass and short trees to make his own path. As he was looking down at the tall grass being kicked under his feet, he got his horn stuck in a low branch, at first the sensation startled him and he bucked, when he did he hit his head. Wincing from the pain he let out a curse. Why was he given a horn to protect himself when his enemies would sooner fall over and laugh at him than fear him. After flicking his head a bit, he was free from the branch, but it left him covered in leafs and tree moss.

Once Fergus reached the river, he was grateful to see the waters were rough and unclear. He hated looking at his reflection as he drank, Fergus had never felt comfortable with his image, the tribal markings may have given him a tougher edge but the flowers on his face and body overpowered them. They made him feel girly, and powerless to any predator or trespasser.
Fergus loved his swamp dearly, and did all he could to protect it from those who seek to take it from him, and maybe he was made to reflect its beauty, he just wished he didnt have to reflect it on his face.

The slope was muddy and he approached it with caution but slipped and slid down it. Fergus groaned with distaste, now he was reflecting the swamp's mud and advertising it all over his legs and backside. This morning was proving to be more difficult than most, but he wasnt going to let the mud keep him from getting a cool drink. He lowered his head and took in the crisp water. The water was refreshing, but the mud was cooling him off as well, he got the idea to cover himself in it. He took a minute to roll around in the mud, covering most of his face and body, and on his way back the tree moss stuck to him more easily. By the time he got back to Lemon he figured he looked pretty horrifying.

Walking softly he crept up on Lemon from behind. Fergus tipped his head back and made a gargling sound in his throat. Lemon all but jumped out of her skin! It took her a moment to realize it was Fergus looming over her, "Fergus!" she scolded, "You, you look like the swamp thing."
He let out a laugh. "Is it that bad? I didnt think you would scare with a bit of mud and moss."
"Im not afraid of mud or moss!" she argued, "but your creeped on me and made that awful sound." Lemon shivered. "Startled me, thats all."

Fergus looked intrigued "Did I startle some milk out of you?"

"Not yet. Hey if you can scare me, ill give you some. If you get scary enough, you might actually be able to scare off trespassers!"

She was mocking him, but she was right. Fergus had a hard time getting himself to appear before the ones he was trying to scare off. Using his booming voice and with Lemon banging on an old pot and kicking around, the noise was usually enough to scare people off. He didnt know what he would do if he had to actually confront another soq face to face. He was so afraid of other soquili making fun of his lavender flowery face he never made friends. Lemon never cared what he looked like, she has been more like a mother to him than anything. They take care of each other, he keeps her safe and fed, she gives him sweet milk, when she feels like it. Lemon has always been such a stubborn goat, it was in her nature, but it is also in her nature to care for others.

Fergus looked around for things to make him look spooky or frightening. He rolled on another coat of gooey mud and moss. He gathered a bundle of twigs and twisted his wavy hair around them, he was now a haunted image of himself. The mud dried to a sort of grey color, and gave him an undead sort of look.
Wind blew through his tangled branch dreaded hair, he picked up a smell that was unfamiliar. Curious, he tagged the scent, and crept to stay unseen.
It was a boar, it was a fourth his size but those tusks were more than intimidating, they were downright dangerous. This was his chance to try out his new look.
Dashing out of the brush Fergus charged the unsuspecting animal. When there was about ten feet between them, Fergus reared and let out hallowed sounding whinnies.
The boar made a stance like it might charge, Fergus stomped and snorted, the hairs and the animal's back raised up and at the last moment it turned and bolted away. Fergus was ecstatic, he even chased the boar further to spook it.

He turned and trotted a bit back to the hut. He approached the hut and peered in to see Lemon, but she was no where to be seen. Fergus felt his heart sink, what if a predator got to the camp, and.. he couldnt bare to think of it. He pulled his head out with a panicked look on his face.

"Mlaaaaaaaah!" a voice let out behind him. Fergus spun his head back only to see Lemon, his nose flared with anger.
Lemon fellover laughing. "You, you should have seen you face!!!"
"That was not funny Lemon, I was worried you were hurt!"
"I know im mean, but it was just so funny" Lemon continued to laugh.
She had fooled him again, out witted by a goat, Fergus felt less than accomplished. He didnt bother to mention the boar, he figured Lemon would find a way to turn that against him to.
"Okay, okay you got me."
"He he, yes and you deserve some milk for that." Finally.
