Ever since his mother had come in town, Tag had been spending a lot of extra time at the office. Or at the bars. Or at the parks. Pretty much anywhere but home. His mother was a great burden to him, and between her getting under his skin and pressures from General Painite and the stress of the missing civilians cases, Tag had been worn thin. And it was causing some dramatic effects onto his personal life.

Simply put, Tag Swagger was off his game. It had been a long time for him since he last got laid - nearly three whole weeks! He felt like he was fifteen again, only life sucked a lot more.

He was in the studio earlier than usual - in the early afternoon - relaxing in his cubicle leaned back in his chair and feet on his desk, lazily reading over some of the stories as he sipped on his coffee. It was the closest he had to an oasis these days, although his cubicle was starting to feel a little crowded and a full office was starting to feel more and more deserved.

One day, he hoped. One day.

Early enough to be there when the mail arrived. Unlike later in the day, when a slack-jawed teenage intern went around with a cart to drop off correspondence to its proper cubical, the early birds of the studio got to converse with an actual human being.

Kess Reever was a regular ball of sunshine, and had no qualms stopping to chat with folks that had plenty of work to do.

"Don't look too busy," It was a friendly tease, arms folded atop the thin ridge of the cubicle. "Swag Tagger, right?" A glance at his name placard made her easy grin grow wider. "Oh. Tag Swagger. I'll be damned. I've been saying it wrong since I got to Destiny City."

She didn't seem particularly remorseful. Instead, she came around the short wall to the 'entrance' to his 'office', to remove a somewhat thin, somewhat long box from her messenger bad.

"Can I get your autograph?" She lifted an electronic clipboard, brows raised.

Tag arched a high brow at the mispronunciation of his name? What was she, daft? What type of foolish and ridiculous name was Swag Tagger? His name was clearly Tag Swagger - it was a far better name, and certainly not ridiculous. And to have the audacity to mispronounce his name in front of him! People need to respect the egos of those with local quasi-celebrity status.

He swiveled in his seat to turn to the girl. That is, ugly people need to pay respect. Pretty girls, however, could say whatever the hell they wanted to him.

"No worries, with all the times pretty girls like you say my name its probably a mistake that's been done before," he teased as he grabbed the stylus and scribbled his signature into the electronic pad. He wasn't exactly one for humility, and he was hoping to break any awkwardness more than he was trying to boast. The boasting was merely a perk. "What's your name, beautiful?"

The tall blonde watched irritation melt into flirtation on Tag's face, one eyebrow slowly climbing as he delivered his line. A womanizer, then. Now that was something she could identify with.

"Call me Kess, handsome." The pad was pulled back, and in its place, the thin rectangular box was slapped into his palms. Kess shifted further into the cubical, planting a hip against his desk to watch him open it.

Not orthodox for a mail courier, but then again, Kess was anything but.

Tag would fine a lovely silk tie inside, with a short note inside. The blonde girl grinned. "From another girl that can't get your name right?" Or, more likely, some throwaway lover. Or his mom. Who knew?

"Something along those lines, I'm sure," he said, unsealing the bonds of the package with a few jagged swipes of his index finger. He hooked his finger into the package, pulling out a fine blue and black striped silk tie and a little note that read:

Tag -
Stay awesome.
- Tag

Those sorts of notes always warmed his heart. Sure, it cost a little extra to send a note to himself in his online shopping, but it was important to do so to keep up his love affair with himself. He tossed the note into the trash and turned to the courier.

"So, Kess," he started. "Do you wait around for all your recipients to open their package in front of you, or just the hot ones?"
