There was a whimsical tune drifting down the demon dorms' hallway that day. A certain frost demon had been tinkering away at the piano in the common room light-heartedly, enjoying the afternoon break after lessons. Her muse hadn't been kind to her for the past few weeks and that day was the first time she had touched the piano since the FMC auditions. And there was no better way to get back into the groove of things than a simple piece right?
Well at least that was the case for Edel, who let her fingers dance mindlessly across the piano while her thoughts were clearly elsewhere. Her half-heartedness was made more obvious by the fact that she could hear a pair of footsteps walking down the common corridor.

It was the tune that brought Charlie out of his room and down the hall. The sound... He'd heard this one before. He knew this tune... or at least he thought he did? Was he dreaming maybe?
No. He wasn't.
Lightly placed foot steps accompanied the tune as Charlie got closer and closer and then finally stopped and stared at the figure at the piano.
"...Your not a cd..." Charlie was surprised. Part of him thought maybe some one had left their walkingdeadman playing or perhaps an eyepod. The tune may have sounded simple to most but to Charlie it was impressive.

They were getting closer, those footsteps, and they were really soft. Edel slowed down a little to listen for them, peering over the piano to see who they belonged to. From around the corner a bob of bubblegum pink hair appeared, followed by a figure that belonged to a small boil. From a distance, Edel could see the him squinting.
And he edged closer, still squinting.
And closer, still squinting.
Until he was right in front of her next to the piano, still squinting. Edel ended the song with a dragged out note, suddenly feeling very conscious of herself. .....Is there something wrong with me?
"...Your not a cd..."
The frost demon's eyes widened as she gave the boil a slightly befuddled look. By “cd”, could he possible mean a record or something? Edel smiled at that thought.
“Hello there!” she quipped brightly in response. “I-I don't think so too.....”
“My name's Edel, nice to meet you” The frost demon held out her hand for a handshake before she noticed the exceptionally long sleeves the boil was wearing.

So the music HADN'T been coming from a CD. Charlie was impressed. His amazement showed completely on his face.
"Wow! YOUR really good." He crossed his arms and nodded to her. His arms came undone when the demon offered her hand to him though. He smiled and extended a long sleeved hand to her. Charlie hardly ever really thought about how others often were confused where his hand was. And even if he did, he probably wouldn't have cared enough any way.
"Uhh... My names Charlie. Charlie Night if you want to know my full name but I like Charlie just fine." He gave her a wicked grin.
"So.. can you show me what your doing here?" The demon was peering at the piano.

Edel reached out to grab an empty sleeve, which felt odd, so she tried again, this time taking the hand that jutted out under the long, trailing sleeve. Hm.
The frost demon tried for a very subdued smile at the generous compliment, but ah, it was still evident that she was rather flattered (even though she might have figured that Charlie might have been a little easy to impress). Still, flattered nonetheless.
The frost demon raised her eyebrows at the question and played a C major scale in response. Well, that was unimpressive. Edel grinned sheepishly at the other demon. “Here goes”
Making a quick mental selection, Edel positioned herself again before breaking into a light, cheerful tune, playing a few bars before looking back up at Charlie while she continued to play, just to see if he was still as enthused. A minute or two into the sonata, the frost demon thought it might be a little too vain of her should she carry on to finish the piece so she picked an appropriate time to end the truncated piece.
“Would you like to play the piano too?” she asked the pink-haired demon earnestly.

Charlie shook Edels hand quite enthusiastically. It may have looked weird how he shook her hand with such long sleeves to anyone watching the two. But Charlie didn't care.
He took a seat right next to Edel on the piano bench and watched her fingers fast at work. He could only watch in amazement that such movements and pressings could make such a wonderful sound. So of course when Edel asked if would like to try, the demon wasted no time.
Only, Charlies attempt was far from graceful. He pretty much lifted his hands up high over his head and began smacking the keys with his hands. The piano made a horrible sound. This confused Charlie, so he continued doing what he was doing. Smashing keys.
Then he stopped and looked up at Edel in his confusion.
"Its not working right."

Edel was pleased to see Charlie take up the offer so enthusiastically and made way so the boil could experiment with the full range of keys. She of course, didn't expect Charlie to be able too good with the piano but she certainly didn't expect what was to come.
In the split second before Charlie brought his hands down on the piano keys, a siren sounded off in Edel's head.
But the frost demon, too slow (and too considerate) to react, simply let the jarring piano smashing wash over her. Don't get her wrong, she wasn't mad at Charlie at all. It was just that the piano.....oh the heartache.....
The piano however, did get a short reprieve. The frost demon gave Charlie an understanding smile that also showed signs of thinly-veiled pain. But then she reminded herself that she was being unfair.
“Perhaps we should try this one key at a time?” she offered, moving over to the piano and playing the C major scale again. Edel looked at Charlie kindly and said, “Follow after me?”
“This is Do Re Mi” she sang along as she hit the corresponding keys.

"One key at a time?" Charlie had thought he was doing pretty good but .. one key at a time? He nodded any ways and listened and observed. Edel was soft on the keys which confused Charlie some. He was pretty sure you were supposed to smash the keys in but if thats what it was... He went ahead and followed after the ice demon. The sleeves made pressing the keys a little awkward though so he ended up pushing two or three keys by mistake at a time. The demon grinned none the less. "I think I got it ~ " He went ahead and repeated again. It was still pretty horrible.

Of course, Edel would be lying if she said she played the piano one key at a time. But hey! At least what Charlie was doing now had some semblance to music. The sleeves made things a little tricky but the frost demon figured she might upset the boil if she suggested rolling those up. It's probably a Charlie thing she convinced herself.
“Alright! So it goes like this : Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do~” she explained. “Remember Twinkle Twinkle Little Scar?” Edel proceeded to play the tune. Perhaps it would be familiar to the fallen angel?
Somewhere between there and then did the ghoul start to notice the pair of headphones around Charlie's neck. She wondered what those were and may or may not have stared too much such that the boil might notice.

"Twinkle twinkle little scar....?" He knew that one for sure. Not that it was a tune he listened to regularly. He gave the female demon a nod. "It goes like this right?" He started on the keys - but it was not twinkle twinkle little scar that came out. The tune was interesting to be kind. Not as bad as his first attempt but clearly being a piano player was not what laid in Charlies future sadly. He looked back up to Edel and tilted his head. "What are you staring at?"

Edel pointed to the pair of headphones pointedly.
“Those.”
Her eyes were wide with wonder and the ghoul looked at Charlier most earnestly.
“What are they?” she asked curiously.

BWAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHACharlie let out a good natured laugh. He even banged a fist on the keys of the piano for effect. Though, when he looked back up at the demon he wasn't all that sure she was joking. "W-wait. Your serious?" Charlie raised a brow. Then the demon removed the headphones from his neck and handed them to the ice demon to examine. "Headphones. Thats what their called. Music comes out of the round parts and in to your head." Charlie explained it the best he could. "Would you like to try?"

One might figure that they had just asked a very stupid question to have even a kid laugh at you.
Still terribly embarrassed, the frost demon accepted the pair of headphones and examined them gingerly while Charlie explained how they worked. It was a rather bulky apparatus.
“Alright ... like this?” the ghoul fitted them over her head and onto her ears, bending them backwards a little uncomfortably. That seemed about right. Except there was no music coming out from it.
Edel blinked at Charlie helpfully.

Edel had the right idea how to put the headphones on at least. But the music hadn't been turned on. Charlie knew this as he slyly revealed his eyepod and pushed play. Loud dub step music started to pump. For one not expecting that sort of sound it could be quite surprising. " ISNT THAT GREAT!?" Charlie shouted over loud beats.

Edel watched very calmly as Charlie took out the eyepod it was connected to. A central power system? Or a remote of sorts? Whatever it was, she very cleverly deduced that it would start the music playing.
Of course it did. The ghoul quite nearly freaked out when the loud music blasted into her ears, jumping backwards and hitting her arm on the piano keys. And there Charlie was, grinning widely at her.
"ISNT THAT GREAT!?"
“Y-Yes.” came the response, but the frost demon couldn't hear herself reply. She tried again.“YES” she shouted, which was all very unnecessary since she was the one with headphones on, not him. Oh boil, was the music loud. Edel carefully removed the headphones but held them close to her ears. She could still hear the music playing 2 inches away.
“Can it play anything else? Something softer?” she asked sheepishly.
