Wow, I must say this was a very exciting weekend in the NFL, lots of surprises and many great games to talk about.
1. Top NFL Teams! Bills and Lions!?- In week one the Bills crushed winless Kansas City and the Lions came from behind to beat a Buccaneers team that went 10-6 last season. Week two the Lions delt the same punishment to the Chiefs while the Bills came back from a 21-3 deficit to beat the Oakland Raiders. This week we see the Bills go in to fight top ranked New England, a team they've only beaten once in the last 21 tries, while the Lions went into Minnesota where they haven't been the favorites to win there since 1991! At one point the the scores were Patriots over Buffalo 21-0 and Minnesota over Detroit 20-0. In any other year we expect to see the same scenario play out while the Bills and Lions are both brought back down to earth with a reality check.... Not this year. Detroit orchestrated their second come from behind victory of the season and defeated their division rival in overtime 26-23. More impressively the Buffalo Bills, who trailed 21-3 to Oakland last week and came back to win, did the same thing to heavily favored New England, forcing 4 Tom Brady interceptions! I came into this season expecting these two teams to be better than they have been in previous years, but never would I have expected these two teams to be where they are now. When Mathew Stafford is kept healthy, he has the potential to be an elite NFL Quarterback! And if Buffalo can play an entire game with the same intensity they have in the second halves of their Patriots and Raiders comeback, they would be Scary Good! I know this is only week 3 of the regular season, but for Buffalo and Detroit to play like this!? All I can say is... WoW!!
2. Vick injured again- Philadelphia spent a lot of money to put together their dream team. Their 'Miami Heat' of the NFL. After a win in week 1 they have gone 2-0, and Michael Vick is hurt again. Last week it was a concussion, this week a broken right hand which currently leaves his status for next weeks game questionable. Maybe the Eagles are like Indianapolis, can cannot win without their Pro bowl QB? Or maybe the hype for the Eagles set the bar too high, and this team just cannot function without a healthy Vick. Last weeks loss to Atlanta was bad enough, but loosing to division rival New York was just painful. The East is a very competitive division, and the Eagles cannot afford to fall behind this early. The Eagles had so much expectations riding on this season, I even picked them as my Superbowl winning favorites, but with all that talent, they cannot afford to be stuck behind the 8 ball already, especially with a loss to the Giants and Washington taking an early 2-0 winning streak to lead the division.
3. Worse in the NFL?- Through the first three weeks I've seen the same three teams pop up in power rankings and conversation for being the worst in the NFL. Kansas City, Indianapolis, Seattle. All three were 0-2 going into week 3, And though two of the three are still winless, we are seeing improvements in these franchises. Kansas City who were blown out in their first two games by a combined 89-10, nearly pulled out a win over powerhouse San Diego with a 20-17 loss. A loss is a loss, but a close game like this one is still very impressive by the Chiefs. Indianapolis who look like a chicken with it's head cut off without Peyton Manning, took the defending AFC Conference Champion Steelers down to the Wire with a 23-20 loss. At times showing signs of their former, dominant AFC selves which they have been lacking in the first two weeks. And the Seattle Seahawks, who many have gone on record calling thee worst team in the NFL, get their first win of the season over division Rival Arizona 13-10. Not as impressive as the Chiefs or Colts performances, but a win is a win. Going into the season I didn't expect either of these teams to be bringing up the rear in the NFL rankings. Are these things a sign for better games to come? Or is it just one day of good play and back to their former selves next week? This season brings new meaning to the phrase, "On Any Given Sunday"
SHOUT OUT PLAYERS!!
Wes Welker (WR New England)- Even in a loss, Wes Welker had a career day against Buffalo. 16 receptions for 217 yards and two scores. Both the receptions and yards are career highs for the Wide Receiver. People are already talking about MVP honors for Tom Brady, but Brady wouldn't be where he is now without Wes.
Blaine Gabbert (QB Jacksonville Jaguars)- 12 of 21 for 139, one touchdown and three fumbles. Not great numbers for a QB, but what impressed me most was the conditions in which the star QB played in. Rain games are tough on any QB, and for a rookies first outing he did much better than Luke McCown, and still nearly pulled off a come from behind victory over Newton's Panthers. Considering the bad weather this was a good first outing for the rookie QB. And I look forward to seeing where he goes from here.

Silver Ace Revolver I'm amazed you didn't include the Rams in worse teams. Right now yes I would say that the Rams are at the bottom of the list, but I was mostly focusing on who were being considered the worst prior to week 3. And after watching much NFL Network, Sportscenter, and reading many online sports web pages. Everyone was focusing on either Kansas City, Indianapolis, or Seattle. Despite the Rams being winless and being one of the worst teams in the league, they were still left out of the general conversation for being thee worst team in the league. And that's why I didn't include them in that topic.
