Barth had not heard from Lilith since the Floresctival. He had thought prom had gone well. ...And after Prom. But after losing the elections Barth was beginning to become...insecure about the lack of contact.
Halloween was also drawing closer.
Prepared for the worst, Barth visited Lilith's dorm for the second time. He knocked with a lump in his throat.
"Err, Lilith? ...It's me."

The knock on the door had been heard but even after a couple of moments no one had answered it. It wasn't exactly quiet behind the door though as the sound of several pairs of feet shuffled across the floor while a definite sound of Lilith's squeal followed it.
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh," could be heard before it finally went quiet.
It stayed quiet and then finally the door cracked open. It was unusual for Lilith, her foot holding the door from opening very far as she peeked out to see who it was. Needless to say she was surprised to see Barth standing there, once again at her the door to her dorm which happened to sit at the top of the reaper's dorm in one of the towers. She didn't have words immediately for him, but there was a small smirk on her face through the door crack. Oh, she definitely recalled the fun they'd had and seeing him only reminded her of the pleasantries.
"Bartholomew," she greeted, but she did not relent with the door.

Smirk was good, wasn't it? Sort of a smile? Maybe?
Like with prom, had used his stair-climbing device and was not as exerted as he might have been. It was the only reason he'd been able to manage the flights and flights...and flights.
The shushing and noises behind the door worried him. She had said she and Draven were still together. And he wasn't...unfamiliar with...well, but he had thought, or rather hoped...
"Not...a bad time, is it?" Barth asked.

"Uh," she let slip out as she felt something latch onto and rub against her leg. She flinched, looking at the floor, her foot kicking back behind her.
"It's fi—" she stopped abruptly.
"It's fine," she reaffirmed.
There was certainly something suspicious happening because before she could say another word she began to giggle and squirm around while trying to hold the door where it was. She was getting louder though and again she let out a squeal like she had earlier before she opened the door. It was becoming too much to contain and soon she was unable to hold it any longer as her leg gave slipped, allowing the door to open and then like a flood there was suddenly eyes upon eyes staring at Bartholomew. Some of them weren't content with just staring though and several of them slip out of the room from between Lilith's legs, revealing the culprits as some mischievous Florejox.
There were entirely too many of them squeezed into the room, and it was a wonder Lilith had even been able to answer the door.

"Hel-" he started towards the florejoxes, friendly enough, "~lo?"
He'd been glad that what had been tickling Lilith's fancy had been of the small and furry variety, but he had not prepared to see Lilith's furniture buried in the things.
He bent in an attempt to scratch one of the ones bursting by.
"I've been err- I've been a bit worried since I didn't hear from you...how on Halloween are they all fitting in there?"

"Hello," she said in reply, adjusting herself to a more upright position.
Why Bartholomew hadn't heard from her and how all of those Florejox had gotten into her room in the first place was really quite an interesting story and it all started back during the Floresctival when Lilith had decided to go see what had been happening with the festivities. She wasn't the most festive of people, but she had gone regardless. Most of the time had been spent visiting Bartholomew's booth and throwing darts at lecherous old men instead of the balloons in his booth. However, after all of that something had happened and that something was brown and fluffy with fins adorning its legs.
There were so many abandoned Florejox during the festival that one by one, Lilith eventually filled her dorm room with them in an attempt to rescue them all. She couldn't leave a single one out there and before she knew it she had so many new additions to her collection and all of them not wanting to share Lilith with the world. How could they let their beloved mistress go out into the world that had been so cruel to them? It certainly was not an option, clearly displayed as a couple dozen attempted to cling to her legs in the doorway.
"Well, they are entirely comfortable piling on top of each other," she said flatly.

"Yes, err, well," Barth said, trying to process the sheer amount of them.
"Not that I'm going to dissuade a bit of Gluttony, which- I admittedly find to be an admirable trait, but your room seems a bit...small. Not your fault. Err, entirely a...mismanagement on the school's part, but err,"
It completely baffled him that they had all survived this long. Maybe they had...been eating each other? Or there'd be...less alive ones at the bottoms of the piles? He wasn't an expert when it came to this sort of thing.
