"VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!! WHERE IS IT?!"
That was the sound of a very angry dragon.
An angry dragon who seemed to be missing one of his favorite treasures. It was his ruby d20 actually. Jericho had dug around through his treasure and dice piles respectively, seeking it out but he couldn't find the damn thing. So now, he was storming out of his dorm to try and see where it might be. It had to be somewhere nearby! Normally the dragon would be rather careful about his possessions, but that didn't mean he still wasn't prone to a slip up now and then.
Hopefully the item wouldn't be in someone else's hands at the moment... else things could go a little poorly.

Following a loud, rumbly sort of noise that echoed around the corridors...
Somewhere, a fire elemental sneezed. She'd just picked up a shiny red thing- something that'd go extremely well with her outfit, if set in a brooch or something. Though she wasn't too fond of brooches, herself... perhaps a necklace, instead, though it was a bit too chunky for her liking. Necklaces should be simpler, and more elegant.. As delicious as diamond-studded neclaces looked, they were awfully cumbersome, and Vieve couldn't understand why anyone would want one. Then again, she wouldn't mind having a collection of those to display somewhere...
She turned back to the gem she'd just picked up, and inspected it more closely, only to realise it was actually a dice. Interesting. Vieve wasn't into gambling, herself, but if she could make use of this somehow...
How did one make a weighted die, again?

Jericho stormed through the halls, keeping a sharp eye out for anything remotely shiny. He spotted random bits of dropped silverware, a few silver seeds and a couple shiny beads. The dragon ignored all of these. There was something more important to him right now and he couldn't waste time picking up stuff along the way.
"Jack dammit! It has to be around here somewhere!" he snarled. A few times he nearly knocked over a vase or two as his wings practically thrashed out while he walked. It was probably a good thing he had no tail in his humanoid form.
Whenever he passed by another student, he typically barked out at them, to see if they had seen it around. No one had so far.
Spotting the next person ahead, which appeared to be a fire elemental, he made his approach.
"YOU! Have you seen a ruby d20 around?"

Vieve would have frozen in surprise, were she not a fire elemental. She managed to wheel around in slow-motion, though, to come face-to-face with the dragon. He was a lot bigger than her, and seemed threatening enough to be able to pick her up and toss her across the hall- best not to pick a fight.
Instead she held the dice up appraisingly, as though evaluating both Jericho and the ruby at the same time.
"You're referring to this, I presume?" It glittered in the light, and she couldn't help but feel like just running away with it- it called to her, okay? Just like most other shiny things. Forcing herself to abandon that thought, she tossed the dice and caught it, quickly closing her palm over it so he couldn't see.
"Guess a number."
Perhaps she could hold it just a while longer..

Jericho's golden eyes zeroed in on the ruby as the girl held it up. The dragon was just about to try and snatch it right from her without so much of another word, but she had closed her hand around it before he could do just that. Staring at the elemental rather dangerously, he gave a low growl as she told him to guess a number. Seriously?
"20," he snapped before demanding, "Now give. It. Back."
A part of him had to mull over the possibility of his die being stolen. That very thought only furthered his rage. If the girl decided to bolt off, that would kind of go along with that theory of his and he would no doubt chase her down for as long as he could.

danse-hexe rolled 1 20-sided dice:
11
Total: 11 (1-20)

For a moment her fist clenched tighter around the dice, as she mentally said goodbye to it. Perhaps they would meet again, and in considerably more favourable circumstances. Then she held it out to him, her hand trembling slightly.
The number that showed on the side facing up was: 11.
Vieve tore her eyes off the ruby die, instead focusing on the dragon in front of her. If she were a cat, she'd be slightly puffed up, in some attempt to look more.. fierce? dangerous? fluffy? Well, she wasn't a cat, anyway. And now she'd returned his die, he was probably less likely to throw her across the hallway, though it was hard to tell- he did still look pretty scary.
"You've got pretty good taste in treasure, it seems, but also bad luck.. So. The game, you lost it. How about lunch sometime?"

Watching her carefully, Jericho soon glanced down at the die as she revealed it. Snatching the ruby back, he took a moment to look it over. There was little doubt that this one was his seeing how there weren't many ruby dice floating around in the first place, but a little double checking couldn't hurt. It indeed was the one that had gone missing.
Relaxing now that it was back within his possession, he let out a breath and turned his attention back to the elemental as she spoke.
Luck certainly had not been on his side as of late. That was for sure.
"I'd be a poor excuse of my kind if I didn't know my treasures," he said, still sounding a little displeased but not nearly as angry as he was just a few moments ago. The dragon blinked as she suddenly asked about lunch. That seemed.. slightly random.
"Lunch?" he repeated.

So, that had gone across well... Honestly, Vieve didn't know where the line was (or if she'd already crossed it), with this guy; she wasn't often intimidated.
And perhaps there wasn't a reason to be, either, this time- it wasn't as if he could hurt her.. could he? If anything she'd just claim medical fees, or something.. ... something. Man, her brain usually worked better than this.
"Yes, lunch." Perhaps it wasn't the best idea- after all, he did still look like he could eat her, and she wasn't certain even Cricket could fix that.. "Imagine if I hadn't picked up that die there; maybe someone would've kicked it into some corner, or some crack in the wall, and you'd never be able to find it again. Maybe a cleaning gnome might pick it up and sell it off, and you'd still be searching forever."
She steeled herself, looking straight up at him. "So technically, you owe me one."

Still holding onto the die in the meantime, Jericho eyed the elemental a little critically as she explained what she meant. Oh, the nerve of this girl! She could have snatched the die in the first place for all he knew! Feeling a spark of anger once more, he rumbled a little lowly while thinking things over.
Well. Owing lunch wasn't nearly as bad as having to give up another treasure for the sake of his die.
"Fine," he said unhappily, "What do you want to eat then?"

"Weeellllll.."
He didn't look happy- that was obvious enough. She'd heard dragons were terribly touchy about treasure- nothing she couldn't identify with, though.. did that mean.. he had a hoard of treasure somewhere? In the school?
Maybe he'd just inherited it from his parents; she knew nothing about dragon treasure. But maybe he was like her, working to build up his own stash. And she could respect that.
But someday hers would be bigger. The biggest. In all of Halloween.
"How about.. the mall? There's probably something we'll both enjoy, there."
And then a thought crossed her mind.
"Or would you rather cook for me?"
Vieve suddenly had the mental image of herself, being roasted over a fire. Not that that would hurt her, but.. it.. didn't sound particularly tasty, either. Cursing herself for even coming up with that, she crossed her fingers, hoping he'd just take her to the mall...
She didn't really.. want to be.. mauled, if he happened to be into minced meat or the like.

"The maul sounds fine," He said before blinking at her alternative suggestion. It was a little odd to him, but mainly because he wasn't much of a cook. That, and people didn't generally ask him to cook anything. The only exception he could think of was Riley requesting some jellied kobold brains.. which was one of the few things he could make. Everything else? Well...
"Unless you enjoy your meat charred, I don't think you'd like my cooking too much," Jericho replied. Then again, it did appear that she was a fire elemental. Maybe she wouldn't mind that sort of thing, then. In which case, he'd have to go out and hunt something down first before roasting. But that probably wouldn't be too hard to do. There were a fair number of wild minis about.

Well, that was.. true. He didn't look particularly suited to culinary arts. Why had she even asked that, in the first place?
Oh, right. His room. She'd wanted to scope out the competition, so to say. But she'd have enough opportunity to visit that eventually, she supposed- so mall it would be! He seemed to have calmed down a little, at least, enough for her to let herself relax.
"I don't particularly fancy charred meat, but I'm sure it'd be amusing to watch, anyway... But yes! To the mall, then?"
She let him lead the way, wondering what he would pick- hopefully something edible. A free meal was still a free meal, though, she supposed, and he didn't look like he'd enjoy cold food, which was definitely a plus.

"Alright. Then follow me. I'm Jericho by the way," he said, giving his name. He might as well introduce himself since he'd be feeding her.
Jericho just hoped she wouldn't end up wanting something incredibly pricey to eat. With any luck, she was fine with just about anything, especially since he was going to be the one picking out the place.
Turning around, he started on out the building, and off the campus. It wouldn't take too long to reach the maul at least.
"So you new around here or something?" he asked along the way. The dragon didn't recall seeing her before and all.

Jericho... the name sounded familiar, though she could've sworn she'd never met him before. With the way he looked, anyway, it'd be hard to forget him. A 5"11(ish), scowly, scary-looking dragonthing? Her memory couldn't be that bad... Perhaps she'd heard his name over the ickycom or something. Detention notice?
... she hoped not.
She followed a little way behind him, cautiously, as he headed to the maul. "I'm fairly new, yep. Got here just a little before prom, but I haven't had the chance to meet many people, yet. You?"
Looking around, he seemed to be taking a way to the mall she wasn't too familiar with, which rang alarm bells. What if she'd happened to run into some stranger prowling the school for fresh meat? Against her better judgement (perhaps), she continued following him anyway; they were still in town, and it was fairly crowded. He couldn't possibly do anything to her here, could he?

Prom was a little while ago, so this girl... who hadn't given him her name yet, must have been laying low for the most part. Though, a part of him was starting to feel a little suspicious. Why not introduce herself when he had given his name? The dragon glanced to her a little warily, but continued to walk along.
"I've been around for about nine months or so," he replied, "What do you think of the academy so far?"
As they were passing up the arcade, Jericho paused momentarily to glance inside. There were a fair number of people there at the moment. Hm... maybe on the way back he'd stop on in to play a game or two. Yes, that sounded like a good idea.
