Kiita had been absoloutely delighted.
Rini cringed a little at her guardian's delight while they arranged the "date" -...thats what Kiita called it anyway. The teen simply thought of it as dinner. JUST dinner. With Sesshomaru. On Valentine's Day. The pink-haired teenager sighed. She shouldn't have mentioned Sesshomaru's agreement to Kiita. She just thought Kiita would be able to help with a few ideas again. After all, she was the one who thought of a dinner in the first place.
After a small tussle with Kiita over where this dinner was exactly supposed to take place, both finally agreed on a good, but not too fancy nor too fast-food like, restaurant. A place where both burgers and steaks could be served, as well as a special tonight for the holiday. Add a pretty penny or so, and the chef would make any type of dish desired of the customer.
Kiita insisted she not wear black tonight. Rini agreed to it, although she immeditely dismissed Kiita's idea of wearing a skirt...nor a dress. Just...no. No skirt, no dress. In the end, Rini ended up standing near the door of the restaurant, waiting for Sesshomaru in jeans with a white long-sleeve that opened in the front to reveal a delicately light pink tank top beneath it. Her hair had been pulled back so half of her hair was up in a long ponytail and the other half of her hair remained down. Hoop earrings and white sneakers. Kiita didn't approve much of it. But she'd deal. Formal things weren't her type of things anyway.
So here she was. Waiting for her da-...companion for the night.

Sesshomaru walked up the sidewalk with his long flowing hair behind him. He didn't seem too phased by the idea that he was going out to dinner with Rini, but just like Kiita, Tenshi had spazzed out about it all day. He had to leave the house around noon time just so he wouldn't have to hear about it.
He was wearing a white yukata top with large circlar red flowers sprawled over the side of the chest and down the sleeve of his right arm. He had matching pants with a red belt holding it all together, and red shoes like he usually wore. Although it was more formal, the outfit was made of silk instead of the usual durable cotton, and it seemed to glow in the moonlight much like his silky silver hair.
He brushed some snow off his shoulders as he finally reached the woman he was to be sharing the evening with, and stopped momentaraly. "Rini." He acknowlaged, nodding his head in a greeting. "Is this the place?" he asked, looking over at all the other couples waiting to get inside.

((Replies will be slower. Dx I just remembered some homework I didn't do. sweatdrop ))
Perhaps it was because she was a girl that she was overthinking this night. Seeing Sesshomaru walking up to meet her made her think of this. He seemed so calm. Actually, he was always calm. She could never really tell what he was thinking. Maybe thats why Rini was uncomfortable around him sometimes. She always showed emotion, while he on the other hand seemed...well, blank most of the time.
And he didn't seem to be dressed as casual as she aimed to be herself. Quite the opposite in fact...ah. Oh well. Everyone around this area were dressed in different ways anyway.
Rini nodded, "I've never eaten here before, but Kiita says she heard this place was nice."
She motioned for him to follow, "Kiita...well, she was so excited she reserved us a spot earlier today." Rini mentioned, a little embarassed. Early, early, EARLY today. But Sesshomaru didn't need to know the time. As long as they got out of the cold and past all these people.

Sesshomaru gave a breif nod of his head as his eyes gazed over the long line agian, many of the couples looked aggitated from having to wait, while others where too busy shoving their tounges down eachother's throats. But never the less. "I never eat at restronts myself, ether. But this is a welcomed change from the norm." He said as he held the door open and headed inside, waiting for Rini to follow him.
Yeah, he didn't seem like the kind of man to hold a door open for somebody else or lead a woman somewhere arm and arm. In fact, a waiter had held the door open for him. And when the waitress asked their names and what section, he all too promptly answered for Rini.
Once they where seated he adjusted his shirt sleeves and looked down over the menue, before glancing up to Rini. "Why was the human you live with so excited about us going out for a meal?"

((-has not even finished 1/4 of her essay and doesn't give a damn anymore- =D))
Taking a quick glance over the other couples as well, Rini refrained from blushing. Maybe she should have saved this for another night...but then again, it would be pretty random to ask if he wanted to join her in a restaurant by themselves some other night. So Valentine's Day was a good excuse...she guessed.
Rini obedientely followed Sesshomaru into the restaurant and waited silently as they were being seated. Her eyes scanned the menu for a few moments before she looked up from it to reply to Sesshomaru, "Ah...uhm." Not knowing how to answer him without blushing and embarassing herself even more, she countered with a question of her own, "Tenshi didn't act excited?" Rini asked.

Sesshomaru's eyebrow rose as Rini requitted his question with her own, but simply let it fall back down as his eyes skimmed the words on his menue. "She did. Saying things like 'I can't believe my Sesshomaru is going on a date" and "Be sure to let me see the babies.'... I was quite insulted by the 'my Sesshomaru' part." He said, completely ignoring Tenshi's sugjestions at them being a couple.. Weather it was because he didn't care, or maybe he thought it so, nobody knew... Accept for the fact it was rather perpostorus for Sesshomaru to consider himself someone's boyfriend anyways.
He then closed the menue and set it on the table, having dicided what he would like, he then simply folded his fingers together and rested his chin upon them. "Interesting menue."

BABIES?!?! It took a lot of effort from Rini not to just cover her face with her hands, although she was no longer sure if she was blushing or not. Hopefully not. And she couldn't decide whether to damn Kiita for this idea, damn herself for going along with it, damn Sesshomaru for mentioning what his adoptive mother said, or damn Tenshi just because.
"...Kiita said a few things similar to those." She finally said. Then Rini took the menu and held it up a little higher than necessary while she looked through the various foods offered.
Wasn't it interesting he didn't seem embarassed at all?
Some of the soups looked good...
She probably shouldn't be this fidgety around him. He wasn't acting weird, so she shouldn't be either.
That dish looked tasty as well...
Just friends. Thats all. Dinner between friends. It was supposed to be a fun night.
Yes, she'd order that dish.
See the babies. Pah.
By then, the menu had been lowered from how high she originally had it. Rini refolded the menu and placed it beside her. No more stupid stuff.
"I thought so too. Ready to order?" She asked, before she glanced around to call over the nearest waiter.

Sesshomaru nodded his head, before he beat Rini to the punch and waved over the woman who said they'd be serving them. Once she came he handed her the menues, and folded his hands together. "I'll have the steak, very rare. The fruit salad, and a bloody mary." he finished, sounding like he belonged in fancy restronts.
His eyes then trailed from the waitress over to Kiita, grinning ever just slightly. "Would you like to order some wine aswell? I have enough money." he was mostly waiting for her to make her own order, but he went ahead and asked anyways to get it over with.

After waiting for Sesshomaru to finish his order, she couldn't help but grin a little back when he offered some wine, "Sounds good." Rini looked at the waitress again, "I'll take the fish fillet...aand rice and potatoes as the two sides." She paused to think about a drink...but since he was ordering some wine as well, she told the waitress a glass water would be fine.
Watching the waitress leave, Rini turned back to Sesshomaru and gave him another smile, "You act as if you've done this so many times before. Are you sure you don't do this often?" She asked. "Like, fancy dinners with the fam-...Tenshi and the others you live with or something?"

Sesshomaru watched intently as Rini made her order, and his eyes breifly followed the waitress as she was leaving. But when Rini spoke to him, his attention went back to her, he gave a quick shake of his head. "No, I don't do this often at all. Tenshi will go out to dinners with Gabriel, and sometimes bring the older children in the house along.. I'll tag along every now and then, but not often." he then shrugged.
"It must just be in my blood to like exsuisit things." He said oh so modestly. He then leened back a bit in his booth, his legs pushing out just slightly under the table, so they where touching the middle bar. "Do you come to these kind of places often?"

After giving it a little thought, Rini replied, "No, I don't do this often either." She shrugged her shoulders a little, "Occasionally with Kiita and the rest of her kids on certain holidays if she isn't up to cooking."
Her nose wrinkled a little bit for a moment, "Her cooking was never the best, but I guess you could consider it decent. So going out for dinner to fancy places like this was usually somewhat of a treat for me and the rest of the kids she's taken in."
((Sorry its a little shorter. I'm getting a little distracted and can't think of much to say. gonk ))

Sesshomaru gave another breif nod and then thought, before he looked to Rini. "Tenshi is a rather decent cook. Come to the house sometime and you can eat all of her cooking that you want." He said calmly, before he adjusted a strand of his silver hair. His eyes then started wandering around the restront, spotting random couples that where cuddling and kissing at their booths... He then looked back to Rini.
"I didn't realise this was a date place.. People probably think we're a couple."

"Thanks. I'll drop by sometime." Rini simply replied, although inside her head she was thinking that Tenshi's cooking wasn't the only thing she'd come to their house for. Although she really couldn't think of talking to that woman again without being embarassed after that bathroom incident...
"Kiita didn't mention it was specifically for dates..." Rini said, trying hard not to seem too embarassed and not to blush. She'd have a talk with Kiita about that later.
How could he sit there and seem so...calm...he's never looked nervous or confused.
She wondered what he thought of his little comment. Feeling a little awkward, the pink-haired teen began playing with her fingers in her lap.
"Well, what do you think about that?" Rini asked him.

Sesshomaru's head cocked back to look at Rini at her question, before he slightly rose an eyebrow. "What do I think of what? That this is a place for couples, or that people will think we're a couple?"
Right when he was done asking the waitress came back with their plates, and set each one in front of the respectful diner. Sesshomaru nodded his own form of thanks and moved the plate properly, before he opened up his napkin and set it on his lap. You know, to catch any food he might drop.. He wouldn't, but it was the principle of the thing.

She gave it a moment to think over before answering his question, "Hmm...well, both I suppose." She replied, beginning to wonder if she should have just not asked the question at all. Just great, another thing to make her feel awkward.
But she shouldn't feel awkward, she thought to herself. Sesshomaru was one of her only friends.
Once the waitress placed each plate in front of them, Rini quietly thanked her and shook her head as the waitress asked if anything else was needed.
Looking over what she ordered to eat, the teen began to cut a small piece of the fish she had and placed it into her mouth, followed by the rice next. "The food's good." Rini mentioned casually.
