Wolframite hadn't gone on a quiet patrol with a lieutentant before in some time and the break if not easy task was rather relaxing. It had become rather monotonous to be spending night after night doing the same rounds. He usually broke it up with going to different areas and investigating new parts of town. It was amazing all the places he could go to and interlope upon as a officer of the Negaverse, but even then, things got boring.

Still, duty was duty and being a general, he felt it was somewhat required that he take on a lieutenant every now and then to see what they were up to and how prepared for solo runs they were. The last thing he wanted was to hear their numbers were getting smaller because no one bothered to show a few rookies the ropes.

He met Benitoite in the Negaverse subspace and informed him to meet him later that week at a Keep Destiny City Beautiful!, Anti-littering billboard on top of old bakery. When he noticed the signature of a lieutenant arrive, he turned from walking the scaffoling holding up the billboard to meet him. "Hello, Lt. Benitoite. Did you have trouble finding the place?"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 16, 2011 9:15 pm

In the time since he'd joined the Negaverse he'd had his mental up's and down's and altered old thoughts and beliefs. He had no choice really, unless he really wanted to be in a mess mentally. Right now he was mostly stable, aside from the stresses high school added to just living.

The nights he did go out, while broken up due to schools ever present demands, were looked forward to and enjoyed. Work was work but it was enjoyable, aside from that night at the art gallery and the resulting E.R visit. But that was weeks ago and things hadn't gotten that bad since, though he wasn't about to place bets on every night out remaining accident and injury free.

He'd been surprised, though pleased in some way, when the general had approached him with the request for a meeting later in the week. He'd marked it down in his planner, in some code so his parents wouldn't figure it out, and spent the rest of the week looking forward to it. It wasn't like he didn't get training or know other officer's in the Negaverse, but this was someone else showing an interest and that left him feeling warm inside.

When night had fallen, and the appropriate time approached, he slipped downstairs and into the greenhouse. His parents would leave him alone, they always did, and head to bed. So while they did that he slipped out the silent screen door and into the backyard. From there it didn't take long till he was approaching the strong signature of the general.

"No, not particularly. You picked a place that stands out rather well." Polite as ever the blond approached the other slowly. A small nod, or bow, of his head. "I hope your evenings been well?"

"Hopefully not too obvious." Wolframite said with a look around, a tad paranoid that senshi might be about. He would have fought them, but he would at least like to get through introductions with the Lieutenant first. Luckily, he felt no signatures, but still felt that a billboard everyone glanced up at might not have been a good idea. "My evenings have been good enough." He said, not sure what a 'well' evening was. Was it seeing no senshi that made it well? Surely that was not why he patrolled and it did make for some rather boring days. He wasn't around to take things easy. Was it if he saw a senshi? Just seeing one completely ruined his night - unless he managed to kill a member on the opposing side. Usually senshi were slipperier than that. All in all, uneventful or busy, it had been normal.

"Okay enough to not see too many senshi, but I am looking for a few." Members of the BMC. Castor. Big names like that he wanted to strangle with his bare hands but knew better than to take on his own. He just wanted to see them! All the senshi all over the place but the one you really wanted to come across never popped up.

"How have your patrols been so far?" Wolframite asked, moving off the scaffolding to hop down to a roof below. "I'm not sure how long you have been in the Negaverse or how much training you have already received. I'd like to help out in any gaps of information you might have."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2011 11:14 am

"No, I don't believe it's too obvious. But it is a place people glance at often enough, and if like me they give little mind to it." Benitoite, like the general, didn't sense anything but he assumed the others senses better than his own. For the blond a good evening was gathering energy with little to no incident. If a senshi had to be involved than let it end without him winding up too badly injured, and if he was lucky the senshi wound up injured. But of course the question, or rather the answer, could mean many things for many people. But so long as the answer was positive it was good.

"I've only just come out tonight to work, I've yet to encounter a senshi for the evening." Though there seemed to be no shortage of them, he figured it was only a matter of time before he saw one tonight.

"A mix of good nights where energy collecting goes well, no interruptions, and bad nights where I wind up attacked both verbally and physically." A small shrug. "The worst was going through a window, at least the senshi went with me." Though he didn't know how badly injured the senshi was, he could only hope she'd taken a hell of an injury; one he hadn't noticed that evening.

Following after the general, after saying his piece. The light click of heels hitting the roof signaled his landing. "Two months now. I've only really started training, with general Painite, recently. I've become rather...annoyed with loosing or coming to a draw with the senshi. For information I know some things, about the rift and the original war...." Pale eyes met the general's form, they were around his own height. At least he didn't feel so short.

"I just don't know the past this time around. Members of note, what started this new fight." There were gaps and he knew it. Why had senshi woken here, why had the negaverse started taking on members, what had these senshi fighting when it seemed they didn't know the past. What drove them to fight and want a war? Why not just live a normal life, forget being a senshi. Hell, why not they return to their original world. "I'm working on learning to fight without weapon use, as mine's rather small and useless at present."

Wolframite only laughed about the weapon. "We all start with bad weapons. Learn to use it, even if you don't want to. It's what is going to teach you the basics of how to handle your next weapon which is far more dangerous. I started out with a jump rope. Imagine how terrible it was for me, but if I didn't learn how to swing it and control the line, then this..." Wolframite opened his hand and a long chain materialized with massive, serrated blades on either end. He took the chain in both hands and showed the officer. "...would have probably chopped my head off the second I tried to swing it. Trust me. Even if you fight hand to hand with senshi, work with your weapon someplace safe to get used to it. Try the Rift or even the woods. Not the park though. Senshi are all over there, but much further in. It might require some walking, but it's worth the effort." He suggested, and smiled. "Also, if you need to, take up sparring partners. Many officers will take up the offer to practice, but expect to get hurt. Most of us play rough in order to train better." He did just that. He didn't believe in being soft with officers when they were fighting a war.

As for the history of the Negaverse and the senshi, Wolframite only shrugged, dismissing his weapon before leaping onto another roof. "It depends how much you already know. There is the history of our recent ranks. Who starts the Negaverse in this time and how our leadership has changed, with Charnoite and Nealite...." His voice grew soft a moment, before looking up at the boy. ".... to the history of why we even started fighting to begin with. About our Queen and Serenity. It is a lot to talk about. Do you have anything more...specific? If not, I could be talking for a long time."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 19, 2011 9:14 am

Listening to the General he watched, looked over the weapon. He could see the point in the words. They were words, a reason, he hadn't considered. Benitoite thus far had not heard of the evolution other officers weapons had taken. Hearing this it made sense to him, a lot of sense. "I know of at least one senshi who claims the park." He spoke. Was it really that bad when it came to senshi lurking all about? He'd only met two, one telling him she frequented the park.

"I wouldn't expect someone to go soft, the point of training would be lost if you went soft." Common sense, right? Though he supposed some people did lack that.

Following the General he landed lightly. "The new ranks, the recent. That's what I'm lacking. Zinkenite told me about the original war, he showed me the Rift. Painite told me a condensed version of the same story as well. I don't know what started this recent war, it's rekindling." That was what he didn't get. Who started it and why? Things had been peaceful before it all had seemed to erupt, taking over the news and local media.

It was a split second decision as he looked at the General. Lips parted and words, without a thought given to them, spilled forth. "Would you consider also working with me on training? It can't hurt to work with multiple people, different styles and such." He hadn't a clue what he may have just dug himself in to but hopefully it would be good for him in the end.

Wolframite walked on ahead, pausing to standing over a ledge and look around, then went still a moment. He thought he felt something, but it seemed too far off to really pinpoint. A speck of senshi energy somewhere in the distance. It seemed better than anything, and he gestured for them to head towards the park. "I don't mind training. I'll help anyone who is eager." He wasn't against anyone wanting to improve as one better trained lieutenant was one that was less likely to die. They didn't need fewer numbers and Wolframite didn't like more deaths.

"I became a lieutenant before the Queen arrived. The leaders and first General-King I knew of was Charonite and his wife, General Nealite. Charonoite was the one to first recruit us, and we just collected starseeds then. There were a lot less youma around too. Our goal was to bring the Queen back." It hurt to talk about them. "Our goal was to bring the Queen about and to find Serenity. To kill the senshi and force them from our planet. I don't know about Charonite or how he arrived or how the senshi first arrived. They just seemed to always be here and now more and more of them come."

He jumped down to a walkway bridge that went over a road. He didn't turn to look back at the other officer, head slightly bend down. "Then Nealite and Charonite were frozen in stone for treason." He started to walk on. "Beryl took over, and then the General-Kings and Queens came to help us in the war. We also started to collect energy orbs instead of starseeds. Our fight has been the same. Stop the senshi and keep the princess from taking over." He looked back at the boy at last. "In that time, we've had a lot of enemies and a lot of fights. Too much to really keep track of and enemies I'd rather not think about. We've lost a lot of people." He was still traumatized by Wiseman to this day, but the BMC was far more recent to his nightmares.

Following the other officer, his head downcast and eyes half closed. His pace was slower as he trailed behind, somehow the others words still carried to his ears. So a married couple had run things, sort of, in the beginning. Where they somewhere he could see? Just to see two of the first people of their group? It wasn't some morbid reason for wanting to view them, just to perhaps see those who had brought in people first. People who had stood on the front line when members were even more lacking. Voice wasn't given to his words, he'd find them on his own, it would allow him to view more things in the process.

"I've heard about starseeds, I've never...seen one." He'd also never seen a dead body. He knew what they were, he just lacked the experience of seeing what one was. This wasn't something he was looking to change any time soon. He understood deaths happened but it wasn't something he knew first hand and the blond was sure he couldn't handle it. "Why the change from starseeds to energy? Though I will say it is a good idea." Or so he figured. If starseeds killed and they were fighting for the freedom of people, of Earth, it was best to not go killing the people you wanted to save. It seemed a bit hypocritical. "How did they betray us...? By being married, surely that couldn't be called such..." Or could it? He didn't know what would be considered such honestly.

Moving to catch up to the other he set to match his pace, pale eyes lifting to take in the form of the general at his side. Hearing the other speak he realized something, with definite clarity. The general had been around a very long time and seen a great many things. How must it feel for him for their side to not be winning, to not have already won. What about others who had been so involved in this war for so long.

What could he say about the Princess, aside from the obvious? She needed to be found, before she woke and before the senshi found her, she needed to be dealt with. He wouldn't say killed, even though the clenching in his chest told him what he knew but wouldn't give thought to. She was too dangerous, to everyone. "How do we win this war? Take out just the Princess...every senshi?" He doubted the senshi would leave if the Princess was handled, he couldn't see it. Would this be a war which lasted till old age took them all, and only then would it end for them only because they had ceased to be. The next generation would continue the fight? What would finish it, stop senshi from arriving.

And back to something spoken before the heavier part of the conversation. "We can set up a time and place to train then? I need to be better prepared, cat fighting and rolling around on the ground stabbing a senshi with a paintbrush is not something I want to continue, although I did leave some lovely marks on her face."

"I do not know the crimes clearly about our past leaders. Charnonite...Nealite....they were very good people. I respected them both highly. Many of us did. Whatever they had done against our Queen, it must have been terrible, and as such, our Queen in her own judgement did as she saw fit." Despite Wolframite saying this, the words came out as almost rehearsed. This was the proper way and not to be disputed as a solider of the Queen, but he had his doubts. He had spoken with Nealite. Envied Charonite. It was hard to think that even now, they were locked away in crystal. "Someone can show you the chamber they are kept. I had decided to give them their peace. I cannot go there more than I already have." It tore him too much inside. He missed them - so much. He often wondered how things would be if they were still around.

As for the other questions, he paused as he walked up a fire escape to a higher building. "Starseeds are a must to learn. You might find yourself in a situation where a civilian is causing you trouble. Beating them to death takes too much time. Taking a starseed is quick, a weak spot most people do not think about, and it will take them down quickly. As for beating someoen with a paintbrush, save that for when you are alone to practice. Fight to save your life and use your weapon when it's actually dangerous. When you are with a senshi, that is when starseed taking is vital."

Everyone needed to learn that lesson, and Wolframite paused before gesturing the boy. "Come. You should learn."

He moved, heading to the shadier district. It was where cops rarely went or answered calls, where everyone minded their own business, and where a bum or drug addict being found dead in an alleyway wasn't uncommon. This was the best place to show the officer a vital lesson.

"As for your other questions - on why we changed to starseeds to orbs, what wins the war, and if the Princess is what will end it - I do not know. If it was simple to know and then end this war, it would have been done already. We constantly face new challenges and new problems. Do not think of ending the war so much as keeping it from being taken over. In the meantime, watch over your own and become stronger to protect our family and this planet." He gave the boy a serious look with his only good eye. "Understand?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 3:25 pm

There was something off about what the General said, but he didn't question it. It wasn't likely to be a good thing if he did. But it sounded like, to him anyway, that they were good people and that perhaps the General didn't agree with what had happened. This would be kept to himself, he really was learning to keep his mouth shut at times. It was a lesson his mother had thought he'd needed to learn, and told him as much many times over his 16 years of life. Looks like he was finally learning, not in a way nor in a setting she'd have preferred surely. But did it matter much?

Following the other officer up the fire escape, taking a single glance down to the ground, he shrugged. Heights didn't bother him, a really good thing all things considered, in fact he sort of liked heights. They allowed a good view of the area around, to see things far and wide and they made the city look huge...rather than narrowed to the right here and around you.

Realizing he couldn't escape this lesson he just nodded sort of numb. He had to learn to kill...would he be expected to kill someone tonight? He really hoped not, he wasn't sure he could hold his stomach contents if he had to. The knotting feeling had already started taking hold and he suspected it wouldn't let go any time soon. The way he spoke about death and killing was so calm and just struck him, it sounded wrong in his mind. Sure, this was war. But did everyone need to learn to kill? If anything he could see a senshi or a knight being killed but not a civilian. At least he pointed out that it was a big thing with senshi, rather than civilians.

Swallowing down the nervousness he felt, accompanied by a weak suck feeling, he nodded as he took the time afforded to find his voice. "It's why I joined, to protect those who can't and myself. And now this family." He was beginning to think of the negaverse as a family, it was. He could see certain people as certain key members of a family, as odd as it may seem given they were all fairly young. But it was still true. As for getting stronger, wasn't everyone striving for that? Like Painite said - you are never done learning and training.

"One final question, if it's not too much." This one was an important one, in his mind. "Is there any way to gather energy without being present. To say...give someone something, an item, and that gather energy from the person?" Sort of like giving someone a garment of clothing and having it gather from them while they wore it. If such a thing were possible it opened a new way to collect energy, and more plans to be worked on with Painite.

He paused a moment, looking over a ledge before moving off, picking up the pace and watching to see if the lieutenant would follow alongside him. "I don't know about harvesting energy that way. You'd have to ask the General Queens if that's possible. If we can, I would like to know why we haven't already. That might mean there is a reason, but if you want to find out, it's best to just ask. So far, we've done all the energy collecting. That and the youma." If they could use officers to use their time on other matters other than gathering energy, then he would be for it. He felt everyone would be, but there were merits to taking energy. It gave you experience and taught you how to be stealthy and trick others. To handle unpredictable situations and crafty people who were fighting for their lift. It got you into a mindset and steeled you against taking something precious from a person.

Speaking of.

After a few roofs, Wolframite stopped and spotted someone walking into a parking lot. It wasn't a fancy on that would have cameras or security, and he pointed to the next building at the person walking about.

"Here. We're going to teach you how to gather a starseed. It's essential you know this. See him." He pointed to a person walking through the cars, looking around. It was clear he was up to something and probably picked this parking lot because it didn't have security.

"Try to overtake him. I'll follow with you. If you see he has a knife or gun, get out. I'll teleport to get to him." He assured him, and he hoped over to land on the ledge of the other building before moving over the rim into the parking lot. He rested against a minivan and gestured for the boy to hop over.

PostPosted: Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:14 pm

Nodding his head, he'd have to somehow...at some point ask a General Queen. The idea was sort of intimidating, for obvious reason, but it would be a good way to collect energy if it was possible. If not at least he knew, right? It wasn't a method to us used often, simply when in a pinch for a lot of energy. He actually sort of enjoyed the nights out gathering energy, time to him and time to be someone else. He was slowly finding a love for that. But a short cut now and again could help with juggling school and this second life.

Soon, all too soon, the conversation went back to starseeds and taking a life. It was a subject and dealing he didn't like. He didn't like this situation at all...but it was needed. Biting his lip he nodded slowly. Hopefully he could get the upper hand with the help of surprising the person, who seemed to now be peering into a car window. A car thief likely, though maybe just looking to steal something inside of the car. Either way it didn't matter.

A knife didn't scare him, not as much as a gun did. The blond suspected it was due to the glass piercing his side some weeks back. He'd sort of gotten over that fright rather quickly. It was painful, no doubt, but it just didn't carry the same scare it had before.

Hoping over to the next building he jumped down onto the ground. A glance up to the watching General. He really hoped he didn't mess this up, though he knew he would pull this off perfectly. This was different from simply gathering energy and that was why he knew he'd not do as well. A moment taken to gather himself before he headed across the parking lot, moving on the his toes to prevent his heels from making any noise. The few lights in the parking lot, and the patches of light they cast, were avoided as he bent and moved between cars and made his approach. He was really hoping no weapon would be involved, aside from whatever the man was planning to use to get into the vehicles. The easier this went the better, less traumatic. This was going to alter him, in some way. No one killed and didn't change because of it.

The car thief wasn't well armed. He worked in getting his business done by not being caught and running away at the sign of trouble. What he did have was a wire hanger, and it seemed he must have known the make and model of older cars to be able to know which ones to use it on that wouldn't get him electrocuted. Other than that, he seemed to be wearing a jacket that would alow him to get into a car if he, say, decided to smash a window bit a bit of asphalt rubble. It didn't seem tonight would require that as he had found a car that, by looking in, a very promising looking bag in the back. It could either hide laundry or someone's laptop given to them on their birthday. It was worth the gamble, and he started to wiggle the coat hanger wire through the rubber seal of the window, shaking and jerking while trying not to look as if he was doing anything more than just hanging by a car, and worked to get the door unlocked. Very few seconds, he would look up to scope the place but once he started to concentrate, looked up less often. His back was to the officer.

Wolframite watched. Taking down a person wasn't easy. You have to be fast and, at lieutenant power, you were only slightly more powerful than a normal person. This thief was older, slightly taller, and would have the dose of panic desperation to get him to fight. It would be a messy restraint and the officer would either need to hold the boy down or knock him out. If he thought of another option, Wolframite would be most interested, but instead watched and remained quiet. He had the easy job of audience, but would jump in if the boy needed him.

((You can NPC the thief and have him do whatever you want.))

((Was going to ask about that actually, lol))

He had taken in the height, ignoring the age. Age didn't matter to him as much as height. All he did note in regard to age was the fact the person wasn't ancient or too old. He had to somehow surprise him and get an advantage, a fight between two cars could be messy. The idea of banging, like a ping ball, between two cars was not appealing.

Stopping, and peeking over a car trunk, he watched the older man. Noting he seemed rather busy with what he was doing, defiantly looking to break into that car. He could take a real risk but gain the surprise, hopefully, which he wanted to gain. He stilled ricked getting hurt but the chance of surprising him was appealing.

Getting back to moving he moved between cars heading closer to the man. The car to the man's back was when he stopped. The man didn't seem to notice him yet. Ducking as the man turned to look around, it wouldn't do to be caught now, he stood back up. Hopefully he was able to get the element of surprise, he was really hoping. Jumping up onto the roof of the car he didn't wait, his boots had landed on the car roof with enough sound to startle the man, he jumped down on the man like a pouncing cat. One hand going for the man's face, trying to find and cover his mouth. Perhaps not the best of ideas, as his back was bound to slam into the car he'd just jumped off of, he was hoping to throw the man off balance and when they fell he could lock his arms and legs about him and hold on through the struggle.

He was right about his back slamming into the car. A sharp cry from him as that happened. His hold on the mans mouth, once he found it, tightened and his legs locked up around the man. For a split second he thought of himself like some cowboy riding a bull. The thought vanished as the man tried to get him off slamming him into the car and trying to pry his legs off. Not going to happen. The one hand he had free pressed against the man's chest in an effort to drain what energy he could to weak the would be thief.

His high heels clacked as he walked straight to them, not bothering with the shadows. It was a messy take-down to say the last and the lieutenant was even trying to steal energy to weaken the man. Not very effective, but there were more than one way to skin a cat. Stopping beside them, Wolframite raised his leg and kicked the man's head. When the first blow didn't seem to knock the man unconscious, only breaking his nose, the captain tried again and was pleased to see the man go limp.

"Energy stealing takes a lot of concentration at your level and it's slow. In that time, the man could panic and try to wiggle out of your hold. By holding him that way, you also make yourself unable to do anything and you're waiting for him to slowly go down. You should think of quick take-downs. Blows to the chest or head are good to knocking someone unconscious. If you hold him like that and he's trashing about, you attack attention and make yourself vulnerable to attack. A senshi or even a police officer could come around and jump you."

Now that the man was limp, the general leaned down and gestured at the hand the officer was using to steal energy. "Another way to quickly take someone down is not by slowly taking their energy, but quickly taking their starseed. If this was a senshi you were trying to take down, they could have shouted a magic attack already. If you get this close, you could have taken out their starseed and helped our cause in no time."

He looked back at the now limp man. "Put your hand through his chest." It wasn't a request. It was an order.
