Xavier was tired. That much was evident - the darker smudges under his eyes quite telling. Taking care of 60 odd civilians up in space wasn't easy work. Add to that classes, work...
But still, he had to make time for this. Sure, they saw each other at school a bit, but it wasn't exactly enough, and he'd certainly... been putting his family like on the backburner since becoming a senshi.
He felt bad about it... but how to explain ? He couldn't.
But Adelaide had called him, saying she had something to tell him... And he couldn't help but wonder what his cousin had gotten into, this time.
So, he stopped at the door, and knocked. "Addiiiiiie~"

“HEY… Xav! Man…I have GOT to tell you something ok? Awesome timing… I mean my bro is totally busy right now and I absolutely tried to look it up on line but I can’t find anything about what happened that doesn’t sound like a load of crap.” She said and dragged him inside. She paused long enough to look him over. “…Actually, you look like crap. You go first.”
It was unusually generous for someone who tended to plow right on through most every conversation she took part in.

Yep, that was Adelaide-speak for 'come in', and so he did, through now something in his chest was knotting. Had she been attacked by a youma ? By a negaverse agent ?
What had happened that she couldn't find the explanation for ? Oh god...
Through, she seemed perfectly fine, but the way she asked about him made him pause. This wasn't Addie-behavior, the girl could steamroll through conversation like no one else.
Damn, he had to look like hell warmed over.
"Just school and work kicking my a**." He said with a grin, handwaving the notion away. "What's up ?"

She –stared- at you, “Uh huh…” She said disbelieving but sighed and crossed her arms. “Right.” She murmured. “So… I ran into a talking cat.” She said and let it hang in the air between them. She had to be new not to realize how risky it was to tell someone so casually.

'So I ran into a talking cat...'
Xavier's blood froze, and it was a double-edged sword that Adelaide knew him so well. He could read her well enough to know she wasn't kidding... But she could read him well enough to see all too well that he'd just dropped the equivalent of an atomic bomb on his a**.
God, no, no, no, no, no....
He stayed there, silent, frozen, for what seemed like forever wrapped into a few seconds, before he remembered how to speak. "...You're kidding, right ?"
He knew she wasn't kidding.
"God..." He sighed. "...I need caffeine."
This was going to be a long afternoon.

“No…not kidding.” She said folding her arms and then added suddenly. “Why do I think you know what I’m talking about?” She stared at him pointedly and reached up to twist her fingers through the thick tangle of her hair. “
She pulled a pen from the pocket of her jeans. It was an all too familiar kind of pen and she waved it casually between her fingers almost deliberately taunting.
“I have soda if you have answers.”

Seeing the pen only made it worse - the color slowing draining from his face, almost as if he'd seen a ghost.
He'd walked this walk how many times now, what was once more ? But at the same time it was completely different. This was Addie. His cousin. He didn't want her in this mess. He wanted her safe, just as he wanted her brother safe, too.
Now all bets were off.
"You were outside somewhere, a monster came out." His blue eyes seemed darker, stormlike, his voice heavy, much like a war veteran. "Then this cat comes out, start talking, make you a pen and phone, tells you to shout something funny, the fails to explain you much about what the hell is even going on."
He pulled it out of his pocket, then, a similar pen, but steel blue and... way more elaborate. "Caffeine. Now. Please."

“You DO know!! SON of a b***h you never told me OR Bro!!” She pointed accusingly, one of her rings, being a full armored finger ring made the point all the more dangerous to one’s vision, at least potentially.
She whirled in a heavy swing of twisted hair and clattering adornments and marched to retrieve him a heavily caffeinated cola and stuffed it towards him.
“TALK.” She demanded bluntly.

"Excuse me for not wanting neither of you DEAD !"
Yeah. He didn't look like he was exaggerating. At all. It had taken... how long exactly before he had even dared to tell his father ?
Yeah.
The can arrived, and Xavier downed it, almost like one downed a shooter. "First of all, you need to be careful on who you tell. You can't know... who's an ally and who isn't. There is magic that protect our identities... But they have a similar thing. This is serious, Addie. They'll kill you if they know who you are... or worse."
The way he said 'or worse' was downright chilling.
"...What did the cat tell you ? If anything ?" He asked. Useless to repeat what she already knew.

She rolled her eyes. “Yeah that’s… like not telling someone about CARS because you might get into an accident.” She said folding her arms. “YOU thought I’d blog about it –didn’t- you…” She scowled. “I didn’t blog about MY stupid pen I’m not about to blog about YOURS.”
She grabbed a chair and turned it ‘wrong way’ around to straddle it facing him and popped the lid on her own soda.
“You tell me first.” She humped lifting her chin offended.

And there it came, the all-too-familiar urge to smack her with a two by four, and Xavier settled for rubbing the bridge of his nose, right over his glasses, instead. He could already feel the headache coming in. "I already almost died more times than I care to remember, Addie. Did you think I broke my arm or got skewered through the other arm with a blunt pole for shits and giggles ? I didn't think anyone had truly brought the whole random explained accident bullshit." He scoffed. They all knew he was an horrible liar, and if it had been easier to tell the truth, he would certainly have. "If the negaverse knew you were connected to me somehow, then you'd have been a target. Same with your brother. Even dad didn't know. It's not like I got my kicks of keeping all of this hidden, trust me. Much more problems here than I care to get into."
Another shot of precious, delicious caffeine. "We are senshi. We represent... stars, asteroids, planets... you get the drift. We fight the negaverse, who is trying to take over earth and sending out monsters - youma - to gather energy and harm or kill civilians. Or so that's the general consensus, anyway. Some thinks they should all be killed." He scoffed. "I don't care much for fighting them directly. I don't care much for the extremes some went into to try and do so..." Thought of Lily, of the Blood Moon Court, came to mind, but he pushed them away. "They're... people just like us, deep underneath. I'd much rather protect than harm, but you get the idea. The monsters on the news are definitively real, through I don't think I have to tell you that by now."
God, that was a talk he wished he didn't have to do. Not with his cousin who might as well have been his sister for how close they usually were. "Do you know your name, your sphere ? How to do your attack ? Usually cats cover at least that much.... Through they rarely give us much in term of greater guidance beyond that, at least not on the first day. I can... help you with that."

“Oh yeah totally, want to see?” She said standing up again and holding up her pen. “Klymene Asteroid power Make up!” She said with an expression that, while confidant said she found it more than a little ridiculous. The transformation carried with it the strange sound of rattling bones, and indeed her whole ‘uniform’ panged of some urban mythology about Black Magic. Ribs and vertebrae held her swimsuit like ‘top’ in place; her collar was a stack of tiny skulls from rats and sparrows. Her skirt was –barely that, a tattered thing that split upward to expose most of her leg. She rattled and clicked when she moved with a myriad of bones, feathers and beads.
“I’ll rattle your bones.” She said with a cocky grin.
“Well…kind of not, my attack is called ‘lock jaw’, it like… makes a small area fuse even if it’s only temporary.” She rolled her eyes as though she rather wished that she could do it on a more permanent basis. “Senshi of BONES at your service, and if you make any boner jokes I will make sure you NEVER have one again.”

...First order of business would be to teach Addie - no, Klymene. He did his best to commit the name to memory - that powering up if your home was probably a Bad Idea.
...But somehow the whole damn schebang seemed.... Very... Well. Very much her. Through he was not above smacking people if they tried to abuse the view the skirt gave them.
As if was, anyone who messed with Klymene in Themis' presence would probably have a nasty surprise.
Over-protective ? Just barely.
He seemed in no hurry to henshin - his pen was still laying on the table - instead he just listened. "Sounds useful, through." His base power, well... Let's just say it hadn't been ever too useful. He only used it as a last resort, oh-god-I-am-so-boned move now.

“Well?” She said and powered down and flopped into a chair. “Tell me about you then! Or show me! Do something!” She waved her hands impatient. “This is all really ticking me off by the way, NOTHING useful comes up in a web search and most of the twitters are crap. Don’t even get me STARTED on the Blogs; I’m starting to think someone needs to target half the people out there making them.
She ranted on about how some people were treating it like some cry for attention with all the people saying they had seen a senshi or touched a senshi and so on.

"No one's that not involved directly knows much... And those who are don't boast it, so you won't find much on blogs or on the internet... As you've noticed. I mean, if you didn't know about all this and someone came to you saying they met a talking cat, the first leap of logic will probably be that they're high on something."
Yep.
And well, there was no use trying to hide it. She would see, anyway, and so he took his own pen back, finally.
"Themis Eternal Power, Make-Up !"
...What had he said about henshining inside a building anyway ? Oh well !
"Just so you know, I do not need to be informed of the giant wingbows on my a**. Im pretty acutely aware of them." He said, after the transformation settled. "And the more you make fun of other people's, the bigger yours end up. It's karma."
