Svetta sat underneath the shade of a tree, looking up at the odd sky before her. It was dark, and there was something blocking out the clouds. She didn't know what they were or why they were there but it scared her and she definitely didn't want to move.
In her short time in existence, Svetta had never seen clouds before or had ever bothered to look for them. She had been content with focusing all her energy on her sisters, her mother and her father, but lately she's become aware of all the other things within the pride. Namely, her extended family.
Before Svetta had become wary of the overhanging darkness and taken shelter under a tree instinctively, she had been looking for her Aunts. She wanted to ask them things. Questions about being Seers, and why she did not come out being a Seer like her father. Her mother was unable to answer her questions because she was not a Seer, but she said her Aunts and Uncles may.
"When will the darkness pass?" She questioned, looking up to the sky with a frightened stare.

Twit watched the sky apprehensively, wondering why he had let Mel convince him to come on this visit. He hadn’t met her older brother yet and, as usual, he was nervous about meeting new lions. The ominous weather wasn’t making him any less anxious. In a way, it gave him the idea that something terrible was about to happen.
“Mel, there’s a cub under that tree.” Well, it wasn’t something terrible but it was odd. Even Twit knew that cubs, female cubs in particular, weren’t supposed to be alone like that. Looking closely, he noticed she looked a little scared.
---------------------
The day wasn’t particular inviting but Mel had decided to visit her older brother and see his cubs again. She was bringing two hares as a little gift so she assumed Behnam wouldn’t mind the intrusion. As she neared her den, her companion’s words caused her to turn her head abruptly to look at the tree. Recognizing the golden markings at once, Mel’s eyes widened in shock and she dropped the hares before running to the cub.
“Svetta? Svetta, what’s wrong? Why are you alone out here?” She was quite sure that was her name though she still mixed the cubs’ names up on occasion. Slowly, Mel regained her composure when she realized the little blue girl didn’t appear to be injured in any way. She looked healthy even if a little anxious and Mel could tell she had grown considerably since the last time he’d seen her. “You really shouldn’t be here, it might rain.”

Svetta heard her name called in the distance and looked down from the overhanging darkness. When she saw her Aunt, Mel'Tamu, she anxious paced where she stood waiting for the older Banu to come to her aid. Wasn't she scared of the darkness?
"The sky is dark, Auntie!" Svetta exclaimed, huddling as close to Mel as she could possibly get. She had never seen the sky like this before and it scared her genuinely. She peaked back up at it and than to her Aunt's bird quietly, before speaking again, "Why is the sky dark? Why won't it go back to being blue?"
Svetta didn't understand the concept of rain. She had yet to even see it, so naturally not wanting to look stupid she refrained from asking as to what rain was.

“It’s okay, dear. They’re just clouds.” Mel said with a gentle smile, lifting one paw to hold the little blue cub closer to her body. It was adorable to see the little girl’s first reaction to something new. “They’re blocking the sun but there’s nothing to fear. It won’t stay that way forever.”
She chuckled, looking up at the dark sky as if it was the first time she was seeing it as well. Cubs had a way of giving one a fresh pair of eyes regarding things that the adults had grown far too accustomed to. Looking at the dark ominous clouds from a different perspective, Mel could see why she looked a little frightened.
“On days like this you have to stay close to your den because it might get really windy and rain.” Secretly, she found the situation rather amusing and her little niece beyond adorable. It was a nice feeling, having the tiny girl seek protection in her aunt’s paws and being able to give her some comfort. But perhaps it was best not to say too much, Svetta might realize Mel was enjoying this a little too much. “Is your father home?”
---------------------
“We might get some thunder, too. You should tell her about that.” The little bird said, not half as amused as the lioness. He could tell right from the start what was bothering the cub and he might as well hint at a new – perhaps necessary - lesson. It would be nice to warn the little blue banu that the sky might start roaring and that flashes of light the ground without warning.
And lightning rays… oh, Twit hated those. He’d never actually seen one hitting the ground but he’d heard terrible tales of creatures being zapped into the afterlife in an instant. Shivering, the little bird fluffed up defensively.
