Appearance Information Apparent Age: 28Height: 6’5”Weight: 220 lbs.Eye Color: Cornflower blueHair Color: Sandy blonde/Dark brownPhysical Description:
An athlete in build, Jirou is a solid 6’5” with lean, flexible muscle built over years of martial training. Encased in lightly tanned skin, his most striking feature is the stark lack of a left eye, rather a large, hideous white scar with a full view of the inner socket due to how the scar tissue left his eyelid partially open. As such, Jirou normally wears some sort of eye patch, ranging from the typical white medical eye patches to swaths of clothe he ties at the back of his head. The other eye, on the other hand, is a deep shade of cornflower blue and constantly reflecting an intensity that Jirou never intends. Rather, he tries his best to not seem imposing, even if it doesn’t typically work. Topping him off is a bed of shaggy sandy blonde hair, hanging down to his neck in multiple light layers that flip up slightly at their ends. The left side of his hair before his face is quite a bit longer though, and graduates from sandy blonde to chocolate brown from the crown of his head downwards. Jirou makes cracks about how his scaring must have changed his hair color, but he really has no idea why that section remains darker then the rest. He’s come to use the long section in place of a patch at times, mainly when he first meets someone; he finds it rude to appear with a covering of any kind during a first encounter.
Clothing for Jirou is fairly simple, he wears the typical black shihakushou, however he rolls up the gi sleeves to his right shoulder and selectively rolls up the black left gi sleeve as well. The only other variant from the standard uniform is a set of short fingerless gloves, dark blue as it is his favorite color, and in place to add at least some minor protection against damaging his hands. Not that they aren’t heavily scared as it is, but he’s made it a habit to prevent further tearing of his skin. Personal Information Personality Overview:
As a man who finds life to be precious, Jirou prefers to stay away from conflict, unless it is for the purpose of protecting someone or something that deserves it. This same ideal makes him very lax and constantly searching out activities that correspond with the need for a calm atmosphere, and becomes agitated if that peacefulness is disturbed. Still, even when the s**t hits the fan, Jirou is a good old boy, finding it in himself to put a wrong to right and helping those around him whenever possible. The only problem he runs into on a regular basis is that his single eyed expressions seems to be so intense it becomes intimidating to those he runs into to look him in the eye. Jirou never blames them, he knows quite well that his jaded inner self shines out, along with a pent up violent streak he just barely contains for use in battle.
On that note, Jirou is extremely cool and calculating when he’s forced to fight, and visibly dislikes the exertion of his strengths to cause destruction. So, not only is he careful in choosing his movements, should an opponent be weaker or then himself intrinsically, he will alter his fighting form to reduce the damage he may do to them. Perhaps use a bakudou rather then move in for a devastating strike to the sternum. Additionally, Jirou rarely speaks while in battle and prefers if his opponent keeps quiet as well. He has no tolerance for trash talk and will unleash his barely held in bestial tendencies if they continue to spout insults after being warned.Character Time-line:
A loner much of his life, Jirou doesn’t speak often or fondly of his past, only mentioning that he was a brute that didn’t deserve the strengths he was gifted with. Not until almost two hundred years of his life had passed before insight finally pulled him from his self-destructive rampage across the high numbered districts of the south rukon. What could be described as an out of body experience was what did it, but it was more like the day he watched himself beat a man into raw little bits before a mirror that pulled him from his rage.
For the next fifty years, images of his grimy body splattered with blood and thicker things would haunt him, just as much as his scaring and the lack of knowledge as to how it happened. In that time, Jirou drifted from one hovel to the next, steadily working up through the districts and closer to the Seireitei, his eyes constantly trained on the Shinigami that passed through occasionally. He would slip in his new found discipline, three times, each time awakening with blood stained tears and hands. Eventually Jirou began to hate himself, and that loathing finally put a stop to his rampages, giving him the time needed to learn his control.
Then, as many do, he began growing hungry by each passing day, his senses sharpening to the point he could feel the weak pulses of life of those around him. Never one to steal unless necessary, he sought out work in the southern first district. Construction was his calling, since it required little literacy skills or speaking skills, something he lacked completely after wandering for so long. With his career came confidence, and a physical peace that kept his body cared for and mind from dwelling on the past. Jirou even began reaching out to others, helping the less fortunate near his home, including from bandits and the depraved that constantly circulate the rukongai. However, it was within his last few years that the work and pay he received couldn’t keep up with his appetite and growing spiritual presence.
Always aware of the Shinigami, Jirou took the initiative and searched out how to become one from the few residents of his district that wore student shihakushou. Not finding the process difficult or to cost anything he applied and his world expanded immensely. Forced to work with other students, pushed to his limits in training and given the freedom to learn reshaped him, pushing aside the bestial persona he’d once worn for one far more lax, with ideals imparted by his memories of his early life. Much more personable, Jirou thrived in his studies, forcing himself to learn control and patience that he’d previously lacked.
Now graduated, with flying colors, the once beast turned gentlemen has his eyes set on the first squad.

Zanpakuto Information Zanpakuto Name: Suimenkahyou (Underwater Panther)Ability Type: ElementalRelease Phrase: Kirihanasu (Dismember)Sealed Description: - Length: 4’ in total with a 3’ blade
A simple tsurugi, Jirou's zanpakutou is nondescript when sealed. Unlike most tsurugi, however, the blade curves just as any other katana would, and is typically well cared for unless the situation prevents Jirou from fawning over the sword. The tsuba takes on the shape of an eight pointed star, antiqued gold in color while the tsuka is wrapped in deep blue that appears almost black unless in direct lighting. As for the saya, same nondescript design, simply black with a blue cored looped around a few times near the top.Inner World:
The home of Suimenkahyou consists of a world perpetually filled to the brim with murky water, blocking out sight to a few feet in any direction. Essentially a playground for the beast, endless rocky structures dot his internal home, allowing him to hide with ease and sit at the ready to attack whatever should make its way into his hunting grounds, including Jirou. Seemingly devoid of light, this water filled world is host to numerous bioluminescent creatures, from fish to jellies.
A common occurrence upon entering Suimenkahyou’s world is for a school to tiny fingerling fish, each glowing an eerie blue to swirl about you, as if to act as guides. Additionally, if the beast should be slumbering, there is only one place within his world that he can be found, a deep-set cave topped by an enormous tree of deep-water corals. Here, life is abundant, every nook and cranny of the coral skeleton alive with a spot of life, down to the tube worms feeding slowly off the particulate obscuring the waters. When the beast immerges, the lights switch off or dim as every creature knows that they are now in danger.Zanpakuto Spirit:
An amalgam of animals, Suimenkahyou appears a horse sized mountain lion who’s sides are riddled in a combination of brassy scales and deep yellow pin feathers. Atop his head sits a full twelve point set of burnished copper deer antlers, while hidden inside his maw is a fearsome pair of snake fangs, retractable and constantly dribbling a corrosive venom.
Unlike other zanpakutou, Suimenkahyou is a beast. An alien intelligence sits behind his unusually keen eyes, but he possesses no form of speech other then the growls and roars that nature intended him to have. Malevolent, he has no love for anything and none at all for Jirou, causing his wielder to contain his bottomless rage from taking hold. In fact, Jirou greatly fears the day that he attempts to learn his bankai, in fear of letting Suimenkahyou out into reality.Shikai Description:
Upon release, Suimenkahyou liquefies, with a visible violent splash; again solidify into heavily articulated bladed gauntlets. Each of Jirou’s fingers are topped by a molecular edged blade that continues down the back of each finger in the articulated form all the way to the knuckle where the metal tapers off into a fine point. Three plates sit at the back of the hand and connect to another larger series at the wrist before the final metal piece wraps about the forearm from wrist to elbow. More like the finest soft leather in the way it bends and flexes over Jirou’s hands and arms, the metal of Suimenkahyou acts just as any other weapon metal should when used to strike or is struck, it protects and cuts in return. Colored like burnished brass, the plating that makes up the gauntlet contains a very carefully concealed pattern of swirls, indicative of the water element that the weapon is aligned to.
For Jirou, the release of Shikai rips away part of his careful control, bringing out a primal hunter. His control still stands, but he becomes more brutal and exacting, using any opening he can find. Suimenkahyou doesn’t help Jirou’s situation by imparting him with a boost in both physical strength and a staggering increase in speed, since the additional power again lessens his control.
Abilities:
Name: Mouten (Blind Spot) Class: Supplementary/Passive Range: Short to Long Description: An ambush predator, Suimenkahyou’s first ability disperses a reiatsu generated water based mist around Jirou’s form. The mist directly emanates from each gauntlet, lifting on the air and passively swirling about him up to sixty meters, effectively blocking out vision to only a few feet when inside. Being reiatsu based, Jirou’s reiatsu becomes twisted within the mists, dissipating and blending with the cloud to provide a makeshift cover for him. Of course the mists can be blown aside or evaporated, but they continually manifest rapidly so long as Suimenkahyou remains active.
(As a note, the mists do not mask others reiatsu, only Jirou’s.)
Name: Nijuujin (Doppelganger) Class: Supplementary/Illusion Range: Short to Long Description: Within Jirou’s mist, the technique Nijuujin effectively forms what appears to be a doppelganger that lurks within. However, there is no physical form, only a shadow and condensed expression of reiatsu that Jirou can manipulate and speak through. Attacking the shadow does nothing to harm it; the only way to remove it is to blow the mist away. Jirou makes great use of this technique in deceiving opponents as to his location, forcing the shadow to move at high speed and taunting them with quick blurbs of speech before he makes a move.
Name: Hyou no Sasuga (Knives of Ice) Class: Offensive Range: Long Description: The only offensive ability of Jirou’s shikai, Hyou no Sasuga condenses the mists into shards of ice and propels them at an opponent. Typically, Jirou will only use this technique when an opponent is lost within the mists, making the range of the attack far more devastating as it descends from all sides. Nowhere near slow, Hyou no Sasuga condenses in less then a second, sending up to thousands of shards hurtling at an opponent. Also, as the mists are now condensed, Jirou is easily spotted and the blanketing effect on his reiatsu is lifted. Combat Information Fighting Style:
Never formally trained before the academy, Jirou’s fighting style is perpetuated by his former life in the rukongai. A loner, he learned to fight quickly and dirty to stay alive. As such, he goes for any opening an opponent gives him and watches keenly any movement they make. The same goes for his reiatsu sensing. Jirou has spent countless hours, peaceful hours, of watching the world through his inner perception, learning to pick out the slightest of reiatsu amounts or changes. He feels emotion from others in a similar manner, after observing how reiatsu changes with moods, much like reading micro expressions.
When he lets loose, loses his constant internal struggle with Suimenkahyou’s rage, there is no telling the destruction that will follow him. Until someone knocks him out, breaks through to him or he runs out of steam in some way, he will keep going smashing apart whatever is in front of him. In that same instance, the predatory nature of his calculating moves in combat remains, making him extremely dangerous during these episodes.Reiryoku/Reiatsu Abilities:
Name: Shunpo (Flash Step) Class: Utility Range: Personal Description: The shinigami’s signature movement technique, using extreme speed and acceleration to overcome the eye’s capacity to trace movement. This ability can be used to travel quickly from one place to another, or in combat by a skilled practitioner to get a jump on the enemy. Known Kido:

Alright, there's only really one thing to address, and it's inconsequential.
You don't have a bankai listed. Usually we don't accept profiles without one, but personally, I like to talk with the person about what the bankai is going to do as they create it. You're perfectly fine not adding one right now if you don't want to.
ACCEPTED.
