Hobbies: Rock Climbing: Don't let this hobby fool you into thinking that Bellatrix is an out doors-y person, she can't stay outside for very long due to her albinism causing her to get awful sunburns in a very short amount of time. No, Bellie prefers to climb rock walls to get her physical activity in. Though, some may say that she climbs up the rock walls just so she can use the ropes and harness to float gently down. She seems to enjoy that part of the climb the most. She can be seen at the rec center at least three times a week climbing the walls.
Painting: Bella loves to paint, though most of the time her painting isn't the traditional type of painting that one would normally think of. She prefers to paint three dimensional objects, such as bird houses, wooden toys or even going so far as to repainting her furniture because she figures she'd prefer that coffee table over there to be pink this week. Often times, if someone would go over to the Spendel household, the place would smell of paint, and they would find things much different colors then the last time they may have visited!
Volunteering at School: Bellatrix hasn't always been an avid giver of her time, no, this started when her daughter, Millicent started attending school. Now she gives her time to all sorts of things, from bakesales to help raise funding for field trips, to going to each and every boring PTA meeting that she manages to hear about. Bellatrix will stop at nothing to make sure Millicent's school days are the best they can be, and she will always be there to help the school in order to make sure they is able to provide the experiences that her daughter deserves.
Virtues: Empathetic: Did you have a bad day? Fall down, skin your knee? Bellatrix will be there to comfort you, maybe bake you a fresh plate of cookies to help you feel better. Having her daughter has made her realize that you have to put yourself in other people's shoes and try to feel what they are feeling in order to best help them feel better. She will always be around for a hug if you need one, and she'll be completely happy to give you the hug, wanting to put a big smile back onto your face. This helps her with her job in order to respond quickly to how a client may feel about something she has planned for their event.
Devoted: When Bellatrix puts her mind to a cause, she will stop at nothing to support the cause--be it an action or a person--and she will do her very, very best to see it through to the bitter end. It doesn't matter if the cause in question is a good one or a bad one, Bellatrix will still put her mind and very soul into it. Fund Raising for a school trip for her daughter? Bellatrix will attend every fund raiser, wash as many cars as she can, and help to sell those candy bars at work. Millicent not doing well on her spelling tests? Bell will coach her each and every night without fail, not stopping until she's improved her grades. Bellatrix also makes a habit of only picking one client at a time, so she can devote her full concentration to making their event a success.
Organized: Everything has a place and Bellatrix makes sure that everything stays in its place. In her house, everything has a label and she makes sure that both herself and Millicent keep everything where it belongs. She organizes her time well too, and makes sure she's never late to any of her appointments and is never late for anything that Millicent needs to get to. She doesn't want to be one of those poorly organized mothers who forgets about their children's wishes. Her organizational skills also helps her to be a good friend, keeping a well structured datebook so she won't forget anyone's birthday's or anniversaries!
Flaws: Overly Emotional: Something that Bellatrix truly shares with her daughter is being overly emotional about almost everything. One might even go so far as to call them mood swings and say that Bellatrix should perhaps go and see someone in order to get them under control, but she'll probably get offended at this statement and brood for a few hours until something catches her eye and makes her smile in half an instant. Anything can set her off, be it a good thing or a bad thing. Watch out for the water works, and for the overactive laughing!
Smothering: Bellatrix doesn't like being left alone, she never has, and with the addition of Millicent to her life ten years ago, she's had the luxury of not having to be alone at all really. But children do grow up, and Bella isn't too happy about this, often trying to spend more and more time with the child and keep her home as to ease her own loneliness. Bellatrix's ability to smother people with her needy-ness has caused some people to abandon their relations with the woman. Of course, to Bell, you can't spell Smother without the word mother, and this is why she smothers people. She just can't help it.
Overly Ambitious: Often times Bellatrix finds that she bites off much, much more than she can chew and ends up with many tasks that remain unfinished...sometimes forever. She figures if she just organizes her tasks that they will all manage to get done, one after another, though sometimes this doesn't happen as planned. She may start painting a wall, the dining room table and Millicent's toy box one day, and three weeks later she may start on the other side of the same wall, painting it a different color, never managing to finish the first shade of paint that she had began with. When her tasks pile up too high, Bellatrix is in the habit of just dropping everything and starting over fresh--no matter how it makes her house look.
