Cameron had his nose deep into a book that he couldn't read. It made absolutely perfect sense to the young man, all these scribbles and strange lines that didn't make up any language he was familiar with. He couldn't understand a word but there was something about the pictures that accompanied the book gave his a strong opinion on what he thought the book was about. Visual aids were a very strong learning tool after all, and even Cameron could appreciate them.

It was surprisingly quiet in the records room right now, and Cameron was appreciating the quiet time that allowed him to read, or try to read, and understand the books he could find without getting a migrane from the blabbering idiots.

"Hm..." he thought, flipping the page over to find another picture. He was deep in thought while he connected the two images together to try and make the book a whole.

As much as Zirconia didn't like leaving the chibis she was babysitting with the other, admittedly competent, adults, when she heard of the Aquarius outpost was a library full of untapped information.

However, arriving, the cat-lady soon found out it was untapped for a reason. No one could read these books! They had some interesting pictures, which was why she kept exploring the outpost, but it wasn't what she had hoped.

Tossing a book aside, she looked around and huffed before switching to a cat to better creep around the furniture. She prowled around until she saw the cover of another interesting book she wanted and she approached the boy holding it to gingerly paw at his leg. "Excuse me! When do you think you'll be done?"

The ginger movement of the paw had not gone unnoticed but it felt a little light to be a person trying to get his attention so curiously he looked down almost immediately. He was a little surprised to see a cat sitting there but before he was about to go back to his book the most unusual thing happened. It spoke.

Excuse me! When do you think you'll be done?

There was a science defying object sitting at his feet. In layman's terms, a cat that talked. He didn't move, he didn't blink. Instead he just sat there and stared at it as if it weren't even there. There was a possibility that Cameron was actually going crazy from behind in space this long but the fact he was even considering it seemed to knock it right off the list. Crazy people would never consider that. There was a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, there had to be.

A. He is dreaming.
B. The cat is a machine that talks. A robot cat!

These were the only options and no, there most certainly was not a third where it was a magical talking cat.

"At this rate, not before I wake up." He answered the dream cat.

There was still a possibility that it was a robot cat. Cameron would love a robotic cat. Maybe he was awake.

A man could dream... or in this case, hope he's not.

Zirconia gave him a deadpan stare for a few moments, sighing, since it seems he hadn't come across any of the other guardian cats and she really only had interest in grabbing his book, not another explanation.

In a moment, she was a fluffy cat at his feet and in another she was a young woman maintaining only the ears, tail and collar from her previous form, leaning forward, closer to his face, with an annoyed expression.

"Oh come on, you can't take too much longer with it, you can't even read the language," She pointed out. Not that she could either, but she was certain she could understand the pictures better than he could.

"Besides, if this is all a dream, you have no need for reading materials anyway," She added, very lightly touching the spine of the book in his hands as if yo pull it away, and she was totally going to if he didn't tighten his grip in it in the next half a second.

Cameron wouldn't have believed if it he hadn't have seen it and even then it was pretty damn unbelievable. He may have been in space but animals didn't just morph into humans and he refused to believe this was the sci-fi children's book called Animorphs. Considering the situation it certainly unreasonable for him to consider the the idea that he may be crossing the border between sanity and insanity. It was just an idea, but he wasn't about to cross it off the list. It left the possibility that perhaps he'd really been bound up in this room in the middle of space for entirely too long. It seemed quite possible at this moment. The most disappointing realization was that his idea of a robotic talking cat had been proven to be false and he couldn't adopt her and take her home.

The young man was fascinated at the creature in at his feet, his scientific mind begging for answers that he did not know the solution to. He breathed deeply, staring at the woman in the face. It seemed he was studying her since tried to reason her way into the possession of the book he had obtained. She was entirely too close to his face, but at such a close distance Cameron was able to see that she was in fact a rather beautiful woman even if that annoyed looking expression was ruining the entire package.

He held onto the book, moving it out of her reach.

"If I am dreaming I can do whatever I want, including read," he said as a matter of fact.

He wasn't against sharing the book, for a trade of information. A young man, he certainly wasn't about to turn down the attention of a beautiful woman, especially if it were just a dream.

"Tell me then, my dream girl, can you read it?"

Zirconia's draw dropped just a bit as he pulled the book out of her reach, her passive grip on it ending just like that. She pursed her lips and sighed, obviously not especially happy about his little decision about being able to do whatever he wants in a dream.

Still, short of tackling him and wrestling the book away, there wasn't much she could do. An exchange of information hadn't even occurred to her, mostly because she couldn't help but look at him as a 'puny human' who had none to offer her.

So she daintily sat down in the chair nearest him, relaxed against the back of it, and let her bare toes locate an anklet that had slid off to move it around in half boredom. Her yellow eyes fixed on him with all the intensity of a hungry cat. She could wait.

"Oh, Kitten," She said with a quiet snort at the 'dream girl' comment and shrugged at the rest. "Not exactly," She said, "But I'm sure I have a much better sense of context for the visuals."
