Jarita huffed slightly as she eyed the surrounding area...it had looked right when she saw it form the air but upon landing it was clear this was not where she was supposed to be. For one thing..there was mud here, Eversong would never have directed her towards someplace with that hideous sticky junk in it. Even without taking a step she could almost feel it clinging to her hooves. Disgusting.

For another the pretty stream he had spoken of...well up close it looked more like a murky pool. Like someplace toads and frogs might live and Jarita hated toads and frogs about as much as she hated mud. No this was definitively not the right place...which of course begged the question..where the hell was she? Shuffling her wings slightly Jarita craned her neck around in the hopes of finding some sort of landmark, she was loathe to do more then look about however for fear of sinking into some type of muddy hole and getting her legs any dirtyier then they already where. "Stupid stallion" She muttered to herself as she looked around.

After a very close call three days ago while spying on a pair of Kalona Camaria had laid low. The first day she had spent flying like she had never flown before trying to put as much distance between her and those Kalona's as possible. The second day she flew more, though there were no more signs of the pair she wasn't about to take any chances either. And so today she had decided to stick around this area and see how things turned out. It wasn't the most beautiful place in the world but she had certainly seen worse in her travels. Should the coast be clear by the end of the day then she would seek out the one who had requested the information about those Kalona's and get her payment. This was one job she would be glad to see come to an end.

Trotting through the wet ground Camaria spotted a dark colored mare standing off in the distance. How peculiar. This was the last place she expected to see anyone. Even more so the mare looked a bit lost or troubled. Well, she doubted that she was in cahoots with those Kalona's so Camaria let out a whinny of greeting and then walked over to the winged mare. She could have swore she heard her say something about a stupid stallion earlier. "Hello there. You look as though you could use some help perhaps."

Jarita turned her head as another voice spoke up in the vicinity letting her eyes travel over the largish mare heading towards her. She was a hefty looking mare - a draft by the looks of it and she was walking through the filth and muck like it didn't bother her at all. It reminded her of Bangil, Bangil never cared if she got dirty either and Jarita sighed slightly. It would have been nice to meet someone who cared about their appearance for once.

Still it wouldn't be lady like to say such a thing out loud and so Jarita put a small smile on her face and nodded slightly to the mare. "I seem to be a bit lost" She confessed "it's almost certainly my mates fault..he's terrible with directions" She continued. Was that mud oozing up between her hooves/ Jarita was sure it was and the sucking sound the other mare was making as she walked closer was not helping. This was a terrible place, it was...ugh fit for pigs or some other animal who liked to roll in mud..but certainly not for the likes of her and she couldn't help wrinkling her nose a bit at the thought.

Camaria couldn't help but let out a bit of a laugh. "Typical males, they won't ask for directions when they are lost and also are terrible at given them as well." She had known plenty of males in her travels who would rather wander about for three days lost than to stop and ask for directions. She had no idea why males were so against such a thing but Camaria was never one to avoid asking for help if she found herself turned around. Though in her recent travels and taking on her role as spy and information gatherer the need to ask for directions was a rare thing. Giving her head a bit of a shake Camaria looked over the mare quickly. She was a dainty thing, and looked horribly out of place in this almost swamp of a land they were standing in.

"Well I'm not from around here but have traveled this area enough to know my way around. Maybe I can get you turned in the right direction." Her hooves came to a stop now that she was close enough to the mare to hold a conversation. It didn't take much to tell the mare was less than pleased to be standing on the muddy ground. Sadly there wasn't much she could do about that at the moment, but she knew of a clean stream not far away where they could clean off the mud. Camaria wasn't a huge far of mud, but it was part of her job to accept the places she had to travel to and their dirtiness. "So where were you headed for?" She asked, making a mental note to mention of stream to clean up in with her answer.

Well at least the mare seemed like she might know her way around the area - even if she didn't live her, actually the fact that she didn't live here was a bit of a relief! Jarita just didn't think she could trust anyone who lived out their lives in a swamp like some sort of heathen. Respectable people just didn't do things live their lives like that and Jarita did not like associating with anyone but the most respectable of people. It looked bad and appearances were important!

"that would be most appreciated" she told the mare politely "My mate was supposed to be meeting back up with me near what he called a 'crystal clear stream surrounded by weeping willows'..and while there are certainly willows here this looks more like a muck pool then a stream to me" She stated with a slight sigh "He must have told me to go right when he meant left or something"

Camaria bobbed her head and thought. "Weeping willows." She repeated more for her own benefit than anything else. Certainly she had remembered seeing some weeping willows the other day, and from what she could remember there was a stream near them. Now which direction were they in? Glancing up at the sun, Camaria looked at it's position and then glanced off in to the distance. "Ah yes, it looked like he did get those directions mixed up. I know the place you are supposed to go to." It wasn't too far from here, but certainly not something that could be seen from the ground thanks to the thickly, gnarly trees with the moss hanging down from some of the branches.

"I can show you the way, but first there is a small stream not far from here where we can wash this mud off." She was certain the mare would be more than happy to be clean once more. Taking a step back, carefully so as to not splash any mud at the other mare, Camaria unfurled her wings and took to the air. As she did so she realize that they had not exchanged names. "I'm Camaria. Sorry I forgot to say so earlier." Sometimes her duties got in the way of manners, but that was often an excusable reason.

Jarita was getting more then a little bit worried when the other mare took so long to answer and glanced about as though trying to figure out where they were. If she knew the place Jarita had described then shouldn't she have recognized that right away? Jarita was fairly certain that she had given a good description. Of course her worries were put to rest a few moment's later as the mare stated that she did indeed know the place she had spoken of - what a relief! She had not been looking forward to wandering aimlessly around this dirty disgusting place.

Even better the mare seemed to know a place where they could clean up first -it simply wouldn't do to keep on and met Eversong in the state she was in, she felt absolutely filthy even if there wasn't much dirt visible upon her hide Jarita knew it had to be there, it was impossible to be in a place such as this and not get at least a little bit dirty. "That would be wonderful" She told the mare, carefully unfurling her wings and following her into the air. "Jarita" She shared with the other mare when the name was exchanged "It's a pleasure to meet you"

"Jarita." Camaria repeated the name with a nod of her head to store it in her memory. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well." With a few more flaps of her wings she was up above the treeline. "The stream is this way." Making sure that Jarita was behind her Camaria flew smoothly through the air, her stockier body may sometimes hinder her movements on the ground, however in the air she was as graceful as the lighter breeds. Before long the stream came into view and with a tip of her wings Camaria aimed for it. Landing on the banks the larger mare stepped into the water carefully letting the flow of the water wash away the majority of the mud before attempting to rub off the more stubborn dirt.

It did feel good to be clean once more. With her legs cleaned Camaria stepped out from the water and allowed toe sun and light breeze to dry her fur. Turning she looked towards Jarita. "The willows are not far from here, as soon as you are ready to go we can head that way.

Following the other mare closely Jarita glanced at the land around them - thankfully the more swampy area's seemed to be falling behind and the land while certainly not the clear grassy fields she preferred was looking a bit less nasty. No that she would ever decide to live in such a place...This place with the willows had better be fairly spectacular or Eversong was going to get a piece of her mind for dragging her all the way out here to begin with.

The sight of the clear spring was a relief and Jarita landed on the banks with a bit of a glee. Clean clear water! It was a wonderful thing and she happily scrubbed and let it wash away the dust and dirt that she was sure had accumulated upon her during her trip. The mare wasn't satisfied until both hide and feathers were once more gleaming and shiny. "Whenever you are" She told the other mare "And thank you for showing me the way - It would have been simply awful to keep slogging through that hellish place much longer" She added gratefully.

Camaria waited patiently for the mare to ensure her body was spotless before stating that she was ready to go. She couldn't help but smile a bit, Camaria was never a real girly girl but knew keeping herself clean and well groomed was an important part of life. Of course in her line of work sometime she had to get messy and the messier she was the better she blended in. Getting caught was not on her agenda and so dealing with mud on her hide and leaves in her mane and tail were just a part of the job. Giving her head a nod Camaria's wings unfurled. "It's no problem at all." Though the image of Jarita wandering around in a swamp all day made her smile grow a bit wider.

Taking to the air once more Camaria led the way towards where the weeping willows grew. The further they got from the swamp the more lush the land became. Now all they could see was wide fields of green grass, dark green patches of forest and a few rivers cutting through the landscape. A single large lake sat to the east of them. "There they are." She said pointing with her muzzle as a large grove of weeping willows came into view. Behind them flowed a river which one could see the bottom of even from this distance. "Sure is a beautiful place." No wonder Jarita's mate had picked it for a meeting place. Gliding down to the ground once more Camaria landed in the grassy meadow that flowed out from the willow grove. "Here we are safe and sound."

As they moved away from the swamp and the land below them became more and more agreeable from Jarita's point of view the mare began to forget that she was irritated with Eversong and was instead rather charmed that he had obviously chosen this site so carefully. Now if only he could get his directions right the first time she wouldn't have to get irritated with him in the first place - and Jarita was entirely sure that her earlier trek through the swamp had been entirely his fault.

"It is a nice place" She agreed as they landed, glancing around the area with a nod of approval "I suppose that Eversong did well in this instance..even if his directions were a bit off" She told the other mare with a slight smile before turning around to face her again "Will you be staying for a while..or have I taken you away from other duties?" She asked, Jarita wasn't sure how long it would be before Eversong showed up so she wasn't opposed to some company if the mare was planning to stay.

Letting out a light laugh Camaria looked towards the willows as their dangling branches danced in the breeze. It was places like this that made her want to stay for a while, but it seemed that she was always on the move even when she wanted to stay put. Such was the downside to her line of work, one could not stay in one place for too long. It was safer that was. "I can stay for a short while." She told Jarita with a bob of her head. Yes there were things she would need to do later but a bit of rest never hurt anyone. "Once your mate shows up I will take my leave." It would be nice to put a face to the one who had given Jarita the bad directions but Camaria wouldn't stick around much longer than that. This place was beautiful and surely the mares mate had chosen it for a reason. "Shall we take a quick look around while we wait?" Surely Jarita's mate wouldn't mind if they took a quick tour of the place. Camaria had flown over here several times but this was the first time she was on the ground and able to take a truly close look at the area. Motioning with her muzzle Camaria led the way towards the trees where they could get an up close look at the willows.
