Ever get that feeling, when you just get home from a show, and your just dying to tell someone about it, but you don't know who to rant to? Rant to us! Post about the show you just went to see. What did you think of it? Have you seen it before? If so, how did it compare? Who was your favorite charactor? Who rocked in what role, and who could've done better? Go nuts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last night Cats was in town here. I was so excited to go! I saw it a number of years ago when the tour was last here, but I was young then, and I don't remember much from it, just some of the themes. I think they did really great. The show was a lot of fun to watch, and I have developed an adoration for Rum Tum Tugger. Such a David Bowie-esque fallic symbol wink . hehe. All in all, a pleasant night at the theater, on Valentines day, with my mother and my good friend Jesi. Ladies night! Wooo! Jesi had seen it on Broadway, and she said she was really impressed with how the tour cast really made the show their own. They did things slightly different from the Broadway cast; various nuances that made the show interesting and fun. biggrin They had two shows here. One last night and one tonight. I would've like to have gone to both, but I had to work tonight. xp . oh well. At least I got to go!
Good Idea for a thread!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Awhile ago (January First) I saw Little Wemon on Broadway. It was before the show offically opened, but it was still stunning.
The casting was wonderful. Sutton Foster is the second eldest child, the tomboy Jo. Amy McAlexander is the youngest sister called her actucal name (Amy!) Megan McGinnis is quiet Beth, and Jenny Powers is the eldest daughter of Meg.
I loved the acting. There were times where Jo would act out part of her stories that she wrote and there would be people doing the exact same thing she is doing at prescisely the same time. It was wonderful!
If I would go back to NYC and had a choice to see some shows. I would probably see this one again. It was a really wonderful musical!

Coco Oco Let's just say that the ending song for the first act gave me the same chills 'Defying Gravity' does. I have heard many people say that about it. Well, the last show I saw was Wicked back in early Decemeber... so I'm not really gonna go on about it since I don't remember most of it. I do remember that no on can hold a candle to Norbert Leo Butz and Kristin Chenoweth. I am going to see DRS in two weeks, so I'll post about that once I do.

Well, I just got home from seeing Metamorphoses. It was.....different. But very cool. It was done by the University of North Dakota Theater Arts Dept., so I knew the majority of the actors. It was really awesome. If anyone lives anywhere near Grand Forks, go see it. It's wonderful. The most unique thing about this show is that the entire thing is performed in and around a pool of water. (So obviously it was done in the lab theater.) Also, the full-frontal male nudity. But it's ok. It was done very tastfully. (It was the charactor Eros) The show is based of Ovid's Metamorphoses, which are myths of love involving Greek gods etc. I.e, Zeus, Hades, Persephone, Hermes, Midas, Pandora, Aphrodite, the aforementioned Eros......you get the idea. I liked particularly that most of the stories ended unhappily. Only one or two had really happy endings. My favorite part/charactor was Sleep. I don't know why, but I really like how he was portrayed.
