 A growl escaped from the young filly, her fake bone claws scratching against the bark of a fallen tree, where was Kaia? Her patience was wearing thin as she spent the last hour or so searching the woods for her dorky sister; either Nakita was just missing the clear clues or her sister was skilled at blending herself into the surroundings. So be it, Nakita would not tell her sister the juicy tidbit of information she had just learned from their mother, it was a new helpful skill that would definitely be beneficial to the two of them.
Pale grey eyes looked around the forest, it was quiet, but maybe two quiet, all the animals going silent as a hush fell upon the woods; they knew when a predator was in their midst, but Nakita had been standing on the dead log for more than ten minutes trying to get her bearings, so it was not her presence that they were reacting to, but another’s. Nakita was not alone.

 Galla had been stalking the other girl for twenty minutes, lagging way behind. She was trying to hone her stalking skills, and she felt slightly accomplished that the other girl--a sister of the Flock, had not noticed until now. But too excited wit her little claws, she snapped a branch. Standing still, she tried to blend in but the game was up. The other girl was wary--alert now, looking for what had caused the birds to stop singing. Taking a few steps into the clearing, she tossed her hair lightly. "Sorry...I was...working on skills." She felt herself blush slightly.

Nakita crused under her breath, she was so wrapped up in searching for her sister that she had not caught on to being followed until it just a second ago; if she was not in flock territory, that lack in awareness would have meant death. The sound of the breaking branch was too loud in the silent forest, Nakita whirled on the newcomer. Her pale grey eyes locking on the butterflied winged filly, with claws, a name filtered into her mind, Galla Sile.
"Well your skills are improving greatly, I did not even know you were following me until the birds stopped their tweeting.” Which irriated the filly, she really should have been paying better attention to what was happening around her, “You’re Galla right? I'm Nakita.”

"Yes, I'm Galla," she tilted her head at Nakita. "I'm sorry, it was rude of me. I just...I hadn't had anyone else to track. Thank you." She felt a smile creeping onto her face, "I want to try everything when we're older, so I'm trying to practice everythign I can think of."
She paused for a moment, quiet again as was usual with her nature. "What do you want to be Nakita?"

Nakita understood exactly what the filly was getting at, did she not practice extra hard so she could be the best harpy ever? “Trust me I understand,” she looks down at her clawless hooves, it was only because of Taarab that she had the bone ones right now and felt more harpy than she did before.
The winged filly tilted her head to the side, what did she want to be, besides the best hunter, the best harpy? “I want to be a warrior, the best one in the flock. What is it you wish to achieve?”

Galla Sile pursed her up her lips thoughtfully, as she fluttered her wings delicately. "I want to...well...I want to try everything. See what speaks to me--what's best for me. How best to serve our sisters." She nodded at the other girl. A guard was one of her leanings, but there were other thoughts...she just wasn't sure anymore. "I want to be worth someone."

Nakita looked over the filly, from her clawed hooves to the butterfly wings upon her back to the feathers that filled her mane and tail; the young filly screamed harpy. The harpini (Angeni harpy mix) female felt her jealously rise; the filly in front of her was blessed more by her mother genes than those of the Sperm Donor. At the filly’s words Nakita shifted her gaze from her hooves to the talons of Galla, “With your wings and talons, you will definitely be worth something in the Flock. Those wings on your back will allow you to fly to places where most cannot go and that, together with your talons, are a deadly match and make you a force to be reckoned with.” Nakita gave the filly a small smile, pushing aside her jealously this one time.

Galla felt her face flush slightly. She was not quite as aggressive as the rest of her sisters, not on typical days. She'd much rather be herself and use ferocity when needed instead of all the time--to her it made it seem much more frightening and useful. She didn't like to raise her voice, but preferred to speak quietly. She had never considered that her and Nakita were any different. They were both sisters of the flock weren't they? Born here, deserving of this place and it was their Flock they would protect with their life.
"You're valued to," her voice was soft. "Look at you, those wings. Much higher than I'll ever be able to go."

She looked like her mother in colors, but everything else about her screamed her father, nothing about her screamed harpy, except for her temper. “That may be true, but I will have to work harder than others.” Nakita had to agree, she did have value, when she flew, but she was unable to used her wings to their full potential yet and she could only fly in an open area, Pale grey eyes looked over toward her four wings, that was one thing that was of pride to Nakita, her wings would allow her to fly higher and faster than any other in the flock when she learned how to use them properly. A fierce smile crossed her face as she turned back to the other winged filly and made a promise to herself, “I will be the best Harpy ever, even if I am lacking a few of the physical traits.”

Galla fluttered her wings lightly in excitement. "I'm sure we both will be. Fierce--and--and awesome!" She tossed her hair lightly, "I can't wait to learn more stuff! What have you learned so far?"

Nakita smiled at the filly, usually she was not polite to others not related, but there was something about this filly that Kita could not help but be nice, “I have learned how to hunt, glide, track, and how to use these bone claws that Taarab made for me,” she made the claws scratch against the dead tree she was still standing on, “What have you learned?”

Galla's eyes widened at the claws, "Those are amazing! Taraab made those? He's really good." She considered a moment before answering, "I've learned to track, hunt, dance, and climb...I don't know how to glide or fly yet." She felt her face blushing at the serious lack of skills in the winged department. "Did you just learn? Or were you taught?"

Nakita gave a curt nod, Taarab was extremely skilled at his work and it benefited her that he was so; for without him, she would not have these mock claws, “He is quite skilled in his craft.” The winged filly listened to the other blue winged harpy, “Dance?” Nakita was not sure how that skill would help in a fight, but as she contemplated on it, she realized that if one was nimble enough they could move with grace and avoid an attack, “Gliding will come with time, took me awhile. I can only glide right now, flying makes me tired,” Nakita winced as she admitted weakness, but this was another Harpy sister so she did not mind it as much, “I was taught a bit by another, but mostly taught myself by continuing to practice countless hours until I could get the skill down.”

"I bet you'll be able to fly really high," Galla fluttered her small wings. "I'll have to learn to. Have you met my brother?" She tilted her head, "He makes things too--pretty things. He's promised to make me gauntlets for when I'm grown." She nodded, quite proud of him. "What does your sister do?"

A small smile of thanks appeared on Nakita’s countenance, she hopped that she would be able to fly high above the clouds one day. “Your brother? No, I have not met him; I don’t make it a regular thing to talk to the males, unless they have a skill that will benefit me. Gauntlets would be a nice addition, definitely beneficial. My sister studies things…she takes after the Sperm Donor in that aspect.” Nakita cringed as she thought of her father, it still irritated her that he left the Flock and her mother still spoke about him in high regards.
