His useless, terrible, silly, stupid, pointless siblings. Without them he felt painfully alone; not that he would admit that to anyone. With a soft, muttered grumble, the colt peered around the swamp. They had decided to play a game, which he had firmly refused to join. After drifting off to sleep nearby, he had woken many hours later to find they had wandered away, nowhere to be found. He didn’t want to call out for them; that might make them think he cared. As time when on he grew increasingly anxious, any sound sending him into a panicked round of hyperventilating. He might be a colt now, no longer a foal, but he was still incapable of being on his own.

On the other hand, for the full adult buck, Tusk was taking a very leisurely stroll along the muggy lands, ears laid back calmly, eyes at their usual half-closed position. There was a great sense of dignity in his steps, fluid, and light. He'd been searching for something delicious to dine on. Something better than the low-grade greens he'd been finding as of late... they were starting to bore his palette. No. He needed something more. Something richer, and worthwhile.
While on his hunt, it just so happened that he spied another of his kind... a young one, at that. Staring for a good long while, that careless and emotionless expression plastered on his face, Tusk simply observed from afar. The child looked as if it were about to freak out... and scream, running in a random direction. How pathetic... After awhile of growing bored of just watching, he called out to the youngster, "And what seems to be your problem?" he asks in a plain drawn out voice. He didn't care all that much, but... it was bothering him to see the child so on edge.

Nose-In-The-Air would have run off screaming… if he had known which direction to run. So for a long time he simply continued to turn in anxious circles. He was utterly unaware of Tusk and when the older male’s voice suddenly drawled out, the young colt spun on his hooves and moved to flee before he had even made sense of the words. But his quick flight response was ruined by his long, annoyingly gangly limbs that he had not quite grown into yet. Thus he ended up face first in the mud, fairly sure he was going to get devoured or beaten. When nothing happened, he lifted his head, trying to find his assailant.
