Laid back as the ghoul was, Hadiyya hadn't minded so much when her partner from class hadn't made an appearance the first day, nor the second morning, but even someone with infinite patience couldn't wait forever. There was work to be done, and a due date to meet, and Yaya wasn't keen on receiving any bad marks. She was a knob now, and with that came a certain amount of responsibility and expectation. She didn't know why the fire demon had been so scare, though she thought perhaps the water in Savage's class may have had something to do with. Regardless, if Danny wasn't going to come to her, she would have to go to Danny.
Her jar of dust bunnies was sitting on the dresser in the main room of her dorm, and she picked it up in passing as she made her way from the room and into the hall. Asking around had given her the fire demon's room number, now it was only a matter of finding it and hoping the other ghoul was home.
A little wandering brought her to Danny's door, and without pause the marid rapped curled knuckles along the wood, firm but not harsh. Glowing eyes trained on the grain of the wood as she waited for some manner of response from within.

Danny was actually asleep at the moment. It was no secret that she hadn't been sleeping well, and having a moment of pure sleep with no induced nightmares was a blessing from Jack himself. It was nice to get some sleep, but it was just in a nap in the middle of the day. Easily interrupted.
And it was. A loud, brisque rat-a-tat-tat woke her up, and made a rather grumpy fire demoness get up to answer the door. "Whaaaat," she grumbled rather crossly to herself. This was not her idea of a good afternoon.
Still, she was feeling a little more refreshed now that she had slept a little. Danny cracked open the door, revealing a very ... shiny ghoul. Danny didn't know who this was, but she automatically liked her. Even if she smelled sort of ... wet. Watery? There was something fluid about the ghoul.
Danny couldn't not like her though. She was COVERED in shiny. How was she supposed to pass that up? Danny wanted nothing more to rip all of her jewelry off and keep it for herself, but that wasn't really an option was it. Instead she opted for a very grumbly, tired sounding, "Umm. I... who are you? Did you need something?" Danny was scratching her head in a very unladylike manner. She wasn't really the image of beauty straight after waking up, but then, who was?

The door opened and Hadiyya gave the ghoul on the other side of it a friendly smile. Bringing the jar of bunnies up close beside her cheek and giving it a shake. "I'm Hadiyya from your human studies class, and we have an assignment to work on." The bunnies were given an extra little jiggle before the jar lowered, dark hands curling loosely around the cool glass as it rested against her stomach.
"Would you have time to work on that right?" Her tone was perfectly reasonable and patient. "Or would you prefer to meet up at another time?" By the looks of the fire demon she'd been sleeping, and there was the slightest tinge of guilt for having woken her. Still, it wouldn't have been necessary had Danny stuck around at the end of their lesson to speak with her partner.
"I doubt it will take very long either way." How hard could examining a few balls of dust be? Not hard. Hopefully. She didn't see it lasting more then an hour.

Something about an assignment and some cla... Danny nodded off for a moment and then jolted back upright in a matter of moments.Yaya probably wouldn't even notice. At the mention of Savage, Danny inadvertently cringed; the trauma of the classroom definitely hadn't left her system yet.
Still, it was homework, and Hadiyya had walked all the way over here- the least Danny could do was get it over with. Danny flung the door all the way opened and gestured to the inside of her room in a welcoming manner. "C'mon in I guess," she said, still a bit cross about being woken up. Maybe it was just the lack of sleep finally getting to her. "It's not too hot for you, is it?" Danny figured it wasn't. Hadiyya's general lack of heavy clothing led her to think so anyways. She could take it right?
Danny gestured to her own dust bunny sitting on the desk, faintly thumping against the glass jar. It's thumping seemed almost half-hearted though- like the little thing was dying just sitting there. In fact, it looked a little sickly even.
"What'd we need to ... uh ... write?" Danny wasn't sure what the homework assignment even was. She had darted out of the classroom so fast that she hadn't even heard what was going on.

The smile the ghoul was wearing faltered just a bit at the tone the other demoness had fallen into after opening the door, but she decided not to worry over it. If she had indeed woken Danny up from a nap, she could very easily understand how the other ghoul might be a little irked. Hadiyya herself adored napping, it was her favorite hobby, and she wasn't always gracious to those that roused her.
When asked about the heat the marid shook her head, chuckling. "Not at all, it actually reminds me of home." There may have been the tiniest touch of home sickness in her voice, but it lasted no more then a second. There and gone completely. Hadiyya had chosen to go and stay with Sharra and his family during their summer break, and she hadn't made it back to her own home in some time now. It wasn't the time to dwell though.
At the gesture the ghoul glanced down to the lonely little bunny tapping feebly against the glass walls of the jar resting on Danny's desk, head tilting curiously as she watched it. Glancing down at her own vivacious trio. Was it the heat perhaps?
"We need to observe and research the dust bunnies, then turn our findings back in to Professor savage along with the jars and bunnies." Hmm. Yaya glanced around, looking for a place to sit down. "Shall we then?"

If Danny had dog ears, they would've perked. It reminded her of home? Was Hadiyya a fire demon too? Danny's impression of this ghoul was just getting better and better. Maybe they could go find a nice fireplace to nap in together. Mmmm napping.
The fire ghoul shook her head, trying to get sleeping out of her mind. This was homework time! Not sleepy time!
"Well my bunnies look kinda dead," she said, very matter of factly. She wasn't angry or happy, it was just a fact. Danny could admit that she hadn't really given them the best attention she could've. Her life was a little more consumed with lack of sleep and other schoolwork. She had sort of ... well ignored her bunnies because it just brought up memories of that ... horrible .... trollapus.

"Dead?" Another look at the jar had the djinn frowning, and she stepped over to pick it up, giving the dusty contents a little shake. "Oh no, not quite yet. I think perhaps a little water.." Hadiyya was most certainly not a water demon, as was evident by the twitch of dark fingers over the top of of Danny's jar. A faint rain of crystal clear droplets falling to cover the bunnies in a light dew. "I think perhaps they were dehydrated." Closing her hand the gentle mist stopped, and she held the jar out towards her partner with a smile. The bunnies inside seemed, if not perky, then at least somewhat more alert. She'd either been right, or the water had merely startled them.
"I think perhaps if we put them on a table free of their jars and obverse and record their behavior, that should be adequate research." Glancing down at her own jar, the ghoul smiled at the antics of the little gray bodies within. They'd stacked themselves one atop the other in what she assumed was an attempt to free themselves. It didn't work, but it was cute. She dipped a pair of fingers within the glass to give the top most buddy a little pet.

All the love and admiration Hadiyya had earned in Danny's eyes was obliterated with the little raindrops-falling-from-her-hand trick. So she was a water demon. This would never do.
Danny backed up involuntarily along her wall and said, "Wh-why are you ... how did..." Her eyes stared at Hadiyya's hands like they were Jack reincarnate. She was terrified, absolutely terrified of the power that Hadiyya had, and was now going to be on her guard; she would watch Yaya's actions very closely.
Still, the dust bunny did seem to perk up a bit. Danny still looked at her suspiciously. "Or maybe they don't like water," she said, waving her tail a bit to emphasize the point. It wasn't exactly a secret that she didn't like water, and maybe Hadiyya would get the hint from that?
"Sure, let's just dump them out here," she gestured to her desk which would probably be spacious enough. Plus Danny could stand on one side and protect herself if necessary.
Danny opened her jar and set it on its side. The dust bunnies attempted to wiggle out of the jar, but were far too weak. Well this was awkward.

Cool eyes had flicked up at Danny's retreat along the wall, a dark brow raising curiously. "I'm a marid," she offered helpfully to the stammered questions, smiling peacefully. "It's natural ability."
A glance down to the bunny in Danny's jar had the ghoul chuckling softly, the backs of dark knuckles touching her lips as if to stifle the sound. "Maybe, though if it's been in this heat since class, then dehydration is the better bet." The delicate smile she turned up to Danny hardened just a bit as she noted the wave of that flame tipped tail. "You may relax, I've no intention of trying to snuff out that warm little flicker on your tail." Yaya could be impassive at times, disconnected from those she did not know, but she was never cruel.
Taking a seat in the desk chair, the djinn poured her three bunnies out on the desk top, giggling as they bounced towards her. "No no, go and meet Danny's bunnies." A gentle nudge got them back in the right direction, and once they saw the other bunnies in their jar they darted across the desk top and straight into the tipped jar, clustering around the weaker set and nosing them gently. "They're either compassionate little things," She offered after a moment, her head tipping to one side with a thoughtful grin. "Or they've sensed weakness and intend to exploit it." We're dust bunnies cannibals?

Danny's mind went: What the Jack is a marid. Danny's mouth went, "N-neat. Could you um. Not?" Was there any nicer way of saying "please do not bring that evil substance in here"?
Though Yaya was definitely honest in her efforts to be kind, Danny was still suspicious as a Christmas Elf in Halloween. She wasn't about to relax any time soon. The paranoia from sleep deprivation and the water from Hadiyya's fingertips were not a good mix.
Danny did watch as the bunnies interacted with each other. It would be cute if looking at them didn't remind her of Savage's classroom. She would hide that fear though- no need to embarrass herself in front of someone she just met.
"So uh ... should we take notes? Or um ..." Danny wasn't sure how this homework assignment was going to play out. The fire ghoul shifted to the other side of the desk, as far away from Hadiyya as possible without being across the room.

What Danny didn't know was Hadiyya had her own elemental phobia. A byproduct of a field trip gone terribly wrong, where their fears had been ripped from their minds by hallucinogenic fog and made as real. "I will refrain from any further tricks with water if you promise to keep your own element controlled as well." The heat was fine, Hadiyya even liked it, but every so often her gaze would flick down to the tip of Danny's tail. It was a controlled fire, not wild, but some fears ran deep.
Folding her hands on the desk top the djinn dropped her attention down to the bunnies as her three began to pull the weaker lot from the jar. "If you wish. We'll have to turn in our findings to the professor after, as well as the bunnies themselves." Yaya hadn't brought paper, but she had a good memory. she was confident that she could easily recall the important points later and jot them down once she'd returned to her own room.

Danny glanced at her own tail. Why would Hadiyya, a ... water thingy ... (as far as Danny was concerned, she was a water demon. It would take clear explanations to convince her otherwise) be afraid of fire? That was like Danny being afraid of a bush. Bushes burned. Like really fast.
Still, it at least showed Danny that Hadiyya was willing to try. In response, Danny wrapped her own tail around her leg, in a "defensive" position. Though she (hopefully) wouldn't say it, Danny was actually rather proud of her ability to scare someone who was clearly at an advantage. She preened herself internally, though the intent was false.
The fire demoness nodded and pulled out a sheet of paper, one for herself and one for Hadiyya. She nabbed a snake pen from her jar, and gestured to it for Yaya in a "take whatever you want" motion. On her own paper she began writing out some basic facts:
Paper Danny Fitz October 31st
The bunnys are really cute. Mine are really deady and Hadeeyah's are really happy Her own bunny surprised her though, as it opened its mouth revealing a long, icky tongue with veins pulsing off of it. "Oooh," said Danny, momentarily forgetting her caution with Hadiyya, instead opting for wide eyes of wonder, "That's cool, right?"

Lacing her fingers together the djinn rested her chin on top of them. Unless actually asked she wasn't about to share what she'd seen on that beach. Had she been a knob at the time and already had the ability t o summon water to her hands then it likely would have been different, but she hadn't had such powers then.
Gratefully she took the offered paper and reached across for a pen for herself, jotting down a few things.
- Partner's bunnies seem weak and sickly, though perked up a bit when offered water. Subject's tongue is... rather impressive for something of it's size. - Own bunnies appear chipper and eager to help. One seems oddly enthralled by the sickly one's tongue...
Glowing eyes narrowed as one of her own bunnies appeared to give the veiny tongue a lick. "It's very interesting."

Danny scratched her cheek and then continued writing notes.
Paper Danny Fitz October 31st
The bunnys are really cute. Mine are really deady and Hadeeyah's are really happy My bunny has a really really really really long tongue!!! Hadeeyah's bunny just licked it Wait what? Danny looked back at the bunnies. Were they really licking it's .... ewww! Too cool! Danny liked her bunny; she was incredibly proud of it's tongue, which seemed to be longer than all the other bunnies'.
"So ... Is anything supposed to ha-" Danny was cut off mid sentence as long-tongued bunny ate an entire stapler that was sitting on her desk. Wide orange eyes stared at the thing in wonder. How did that thing eat all of it without even ...
Danny smiled and said, "I'm naming this one Roch!"
To her paper she just added:
Paper Danny Fitz October 31st
The bunnys are really cute. Mine are really deady and Hadeeyah's are really happy My bunny has a really really really really long tongue!!! Hadeeyah's bunny just licked it MY BUNNY JUST ATE A STAPLER OMJ!!

For a very brief instant Yaya thought that long tongue was going to coil around one of her own bunnies and she stiffened, glowing eyes going wide enough to cast blue casts on her cheeks. "Oh!" Happily she was mistaken, though the sudden disappearance of the stapler was a little disconcerting. "My goodness. What a veracious appetite."
She didn't know this Roch, but she had to assume he was a big eater based on that comment.
- Partner's bunny swallowed a stapler whole!
Her own trio of bunnies had backed away from Danny's and appeared to be watching the 4th cautiously.
- Own bunnies are reasonably wary.
The tip of her pen came up to tap thoughtfully at her cheek as she watched the cluster of dusty creatures. "Strange little things."
