Rainbow Sky loped along the field of grass, watching them sway slightly in the breeze like the waves of the big water she'd visited not long ago. She paused to enjoy the warm sun on her hide and noticed a figure in the distance. Definitely another horse, but somewhat... transparent? Were there such a thing as ghosts on the plains?

Gale didn't know exactly what he was doing, he never seemed to but as usual he was alone. His lonesome seemed to be his usual company if he wasn't around his long time companion Ferra. The two had gone on many trips together. Nibbling on some grass his bone-like tail gave a quick flick behind him, his mind was too focused on nothing at all to realize that anyone else was in the area. It tended to keep him out of trouble after all, not to mention he rarely spoke to others.

The mare headed for the strange stallion, curious and still unsure if he was a ghost. She'd seen some strange things on her journeys and a ghost would be the least of the strangeness she'd encountered. As she neared, she called out to him. "Hallo!"

Gale felt his body freeze momentarily when somebody called out to him. Lifting his head slowly he turned his head to peek at the mare behind him, his eyes peeking out from his mane which had fallen to hide a large part of his face. He watched the mare silently for a moment, only his ears giving a small flick. "Hello there." His little contact with others left him at a bit of a loss as far as what to say or do went.

"Are you a ghost?" Sky asked innocently, approaching closer. "Or are you real? I have seen a lot of strange horses, but I'm beginning to think you might be the most unique." She paused a few paces away, not wanting to invade his space too much.

Looking at her with a raised brow he was a bit dumbfounded by the question. Was he... real? Pondering for a moment he gave his head a slow shake. "Are you referring to my legs and tail? I am no ghost. It is simply a trait that runs in my family." He gave a soft sigh, peeking back at his hind legs. "I tend to keep to myself to avoid unwanted attention it may attract. I do a pretty good job with that."

Sky grinned. "An interesting trait. A shame that you hide yourself away." The mare moved a little closer. "You must have a really intriguing family. I'm sorry if my questions made you uncomfortable, though."

"Three of us carry it so far. My grandfather, my mother and myself.." He gave a small fidgeting step when the mare stepped closet, not used to the contact of others but Ferra he didn't know what to expect of her. "It is fine. Everyone has their curiosities. Some more than others, and some little to none."

The mare nodded. "My curiosity does sometimes get the better of me." She looked about the plains, then back at the stallion. "I've been traveling through this way for days and you're the first horse I've seen. Do you live nearby or are you a traveler like my?" She smiled at him. "I'm Rainbow Sky, by the way, but you can call me Sky."

His eyes remained on the mare, even as her gaze moved to look around the stallion. "Curiosity killed the cat I hear others say sometimes." His ears gave a small flick. "I live in the area, though I am prone to going on love travels with a mare named Ferra." He listened to the mare, taking in her name and giving his head a small nod of acknowledgment. "My name is Gale Wind. Ferra simply calls me Gale."

"Oh, we have matching names," Sky chuckled, referring to them both having been named for weather events. She considered the mention of the other mare. "Ferra must be fun to travel with if you go on a lot of journeys with her. I had a companion for a bit, but he decided to stay with his family. so, now I travel alone."

"Our names may match, my family however is full of odd ones." Lowering his head some he gave his head a small shake to remove the hair from his face, the best he could anyways, it always seemed to go back. "My mother's name is Mini Muse." He gave a faint chuckle, a small nod coming to the words on Ferra. "Yes, Ferra is an enjoyable travel companion. She tends to take it upon herself to cheer me up most times as well. Neither of us have a family of our own so that comes as a perk I suppose."

The mare nodded at his words. "I don't exactly have a family, either. I mean, I did.. my herd, but I left. I just didn't feel that was where I belonged, so I'm searching for home, now." She smiled a little. "I suppose we could keep each other company on our travels if you want."

Gale paused for a moment. His ear giving a small flick at her words not quite understanding exactly what she meant by them, "Searching for home?" He looked around him, this was his home. "Is home not where you make it? I mean.. I could call anywhere home.." He supposed it all depended on the person and how they viewed things.

"Home is what you make it, I'm just not sure I've found what I'd like to make my home," Sky answered, shrugging. "Maybe I should learn to spend longer periods of time in a place to get a feel for it before moving on. I get so caught up in the journey sometimes I forget the destination."
