Lattice had been much happier as of late. She had missed her sister and now her sister is at the Academy with her! Still she tried to pursue a life outside of her twin and let her twin do some exploring on her own which may be a mistake at some point but the Engraver decided not to worry about it for now. Now was time for tea.

Quietly she had made her way away from the academy and eventually she found her way to a nice little picnic area with places to sit a plenty. The tables sat upright and proud and there were even a few benches. The Engraver made her way toward one of the tables and set the basket down that she had brought with her. Carefully her hands brushed against the seat at this particular table and once she was satisfied there was no one in the space she sat down.

School had started Lattice on a bit of a 'paranoid' bend where seating was concerned. Lattice didn't really care to repeat the act of sitting on someone unless invited, though she couldn't imagine why anyone would do so.

Mitsu had been spending a quiet day outside reading a book. It was nice to do things outside the dorm now and again. After all, she wasn't at home so she didn't have to be stuck inside like she was there. Turning another page Mitsu looked up as a figure took a seat at a picnic table not far off a basket in her hand. It was only after a thorough inspection of the seat did the ghost sit down. Hadn't she seen the girl in class?

Mitsu peered through her mask at the ghoul a moment longer a curious thought running through her head. Maybe she should say hello? The recent events as of late had left her a little leery but maybe this wouldn't be so bad. The girl didn't give off a sense that she would be harsh, though Mitsu knew all too well to never judge a book by their cover.

Finally her book was closed and Mitsu stood from her seat by the tree and hesitantly made her way over to the ghoul. Light steps took her within just a couple of feet of the picnic table before she paused. "U..umm I..I saw you from over by the tree. I think I had seen you in class? I thought I would come say hello."

Once settled in she started to get things out of her basket such as a tea pot and a couple of coups all glazed with black on the outside and a deep red on the inside. They were very nicely made they looked delicate yet it was likely they didn't break that easily otherwise Lattice wouldn't have them there. She looked up when she heard the voice pausing as she moved to get the thermos of hot water she had prepared before coming to the area, "Hmmm? O..Oh! I recognize your voice a bit...Hello," She said thoughtfully as she then finished getting everything out and laying it down, all the makings for tea and a small platter of pastries.

"...Would you like to join me?" She asked softly extending the invitation with no hesitation, "I would enjoy the company, and you sound very kind." Lattice couldn't really go by looks either way she went. She gestured a hand to the empty seat across from her, "I believe the seat is free if you accept."

((For the curious: What the tea set looks like.))

"Hello." Mitsu said again, her voice a bit more upbeat now. The ghoul seemed especially nice, Mitsu hadn't expected to be invited to sit. She really just wanted to say hello and see how the ghoul was fairing. Mitsu remembered she had been yelled at by another student before class has started. Not to mention, hadn't she been lost in the reaper dorms?

"Oh, thank you," Mitsu said softly before taking a seat her eyes glancing over the pastries and tea set the ghost set out. It all looked very fancy, like a tea party of sorts. "I..I don't want to interrupt if you are expecting someone else."

She shook her head a bit, "It is just us," Lattice said in her calm tone as she moved the pastries closer toward where Mitsu could reach them easily if she was so inclined. The pastries seemed to be mostly berry based and had a pleasantly sweet scent to them. Lattice poured some water into the tea pot, "What kind of tea would you like to start with?" Lattice asked quietly, she seemed rather pleased to have company with her for tea.

"My name is Lattice by the way," The ghoul offered her name without much prompting. She knew that sooner or later she'd trip somewhere but thus far Mitsu didn't make her feel awkward or nervous, it helped that the other ghoul didn't seem threatening at all.

"Just us?" The ghoul looked like she was prepared with enough stuff for someone else to join. Or maybe she really didn't mind random company and came prepared. Hearing the plate scoot across the table Mitsu eyed the pastries the ghost was pushing toward her. They smelled nice with a promise that they would be sweet. Carefully Mitsu picked up one but did not bite into it yet.

"I..I'm not sure, what kind of tea do you have? You really don't have to go to the trouble though," She had just randomly showed up there was no reason she had to go out of her way to make her tea. Mitsu was curious though, she liked tea and she could smell other berries, more than what were probably in the pastry. Maybe even a hint of flowers? If she didn't have her mask on smelling would have been a whole lot easier.

"Oh!" Mitsu was getting bad about introductions at times. How rude of her. "My name's Mitsu." Her tone was light as she smiled a bit behind her mask. "It's nice to meet you, Lattice." Mitsu committed the name to memory as well as the face. The ghoul seemed very nice perhaps they could be friends. "Are you fairly new to school still? I think the first time I spotted you was in the reaper dorms." She didn't mention that the girl had appeared lost, after all it had turned out to be a rather random gathering, like they had belonged there anyway.

She nodded a bit at Mitsu's questioning tone, "Yes, just us and no one else," she replied her voice making an attempt at pleasantness but only falling to a flat monotone despite the attempt she made at sounding friendlier.

Lattice tilted her head a bit as she got out several little packets of tea, "All kinds. I like the ones with berries best, but really it is no trouble," she murmured quietly, "in fact I can brew you your own cup, it'd be my pleasure, really." Lattice loved to please others and to make a new friend happy was the best feeling of all for her, "So please pick whatever makes you happy."

"Nice to meet you as well," she nodded her head politely as she poured hot water from the thermos into the teapot and then smiled a little at Mitsu's words, "Y..Yes. I was in the reaper dorms. Very much by accident...I am fairly new so it is easy for me to get lost..."

So it was just them. Mitsu had no problem with that. It gave her a chance to get to know someone new without a lot of other people around to make her nervous. And this ghost ghoul seemed rather calm which made the usual leery side of Mitsu's personality non-existent.

"Ooo, I'll try something with berries if you don't mind." Mitsu liked tea but she had never really had any with berries before. It sounded good though.

To the new statement Mitsu gave a small smile behind her mask. "I've been here for a couple of months and I still get lost so don't feel bad." The lycan's sense of direction was a little skewed at times.

She was happy to oblige Mitsu's request as she set up a cup especially for her. Lattice seemed quite content to be serving like this; it wasn't a chore at all for her to set everything up properly. It took a few moments for the tea to properly brew before she quietly offered over the cup and then set forward a small box that held various sweeteners to choose from. "There you are," she said in a tone that was almost happy sounding.

Lattice nodded a little bit, "It is very confusing being away from everything you know. Have you made many friends since you arrived?" she asked as she set up her own cup of tea to enjoy. She gestured to the gathering of pastries, "Help yourself."

Mitsu gave a short nod of understanding. It was confusing but at the same time, for her the change had been for the better. "It is a little strange at first but it gets better."

Looking to the tea as it was set out in front of her Mitsu lifted the cup carefully to give it a sniff. It smelled nice all on its on. Carefully she moved her mask just enough to have a small sip, though the contents were still rather warm. It was even sweet on its own but that didn't mean Mitsu wasn't intrigued by the container of honey that Lattice had pushed in her direction.

"I have made quite a few friends." The smile was in Mitsu's voice as she reached out for the honey to add a little to her cup. "I didn't have a lot of friends," or any friends really, "At my other school but here its been different. I've met so many wonderful people." Mitsu was rather excited about all the people she had met, it was helping her to slowly grow confidence and not be so closed off. "Have you made any friends yet?" Mitsu asked curiously before taking a sip of her honey sweetened tea.

Lattice nodded quietly, "I also had the misfortune of being separated from my beloved Sister but we have reunited again just recently. So it will hopefully get better for me now, I was very lonely and heartbroken without her." The Engraver had no qualms admitting to this to a stranger or rather someone that was practically a stranger.

The ghoul seemed content to sip her tea plain and without sweeteners today as she picked up her cup and carefully sipped from it and then set it down.

"My Sister was pretty much my only friend until I arrived here, I also have met many wonderful people," Lattice replied. It was a good grouping she had gathered around her so far and even her Sister was proud of her for reaching out to so many and befriending them. "So yes I have made a couple of friends," Lattice smiled a little, "I hope we can be friends as well."

"I can understand missing your sibling." Mitsu really could. When her brother had gone missing she had been devastated and it had taken her a long time to find a way to deal with it. He had been there all her life and suddenly there was a gap that no one else could really fill. It was almost painful being without the person you consider your family and your best friend.

"I was very close to my brother too," Mitsu said softly, pushing her mask aside just enough to have another sip of tea. It was a little awkward but she managed. "I hope we can be friends as well." There was a smile in her voice even if her mouth couldn't be seen. "I would enjoy that very much."

Since it seemed mutual that they wanted to be friends Mitsu decided that maybe some get to know you questions were in order. Now what were some good get to know you questions? Mitsu had already learned that Lattice had a sister, that she liked tea, she was calm, "Do you have any other family, Lattice?"

Something about the statement Mitsu gave about siblings almost begged Lattice not to prod further but before she could stop herself the question fell from her lips, "Do you have a sibling, Mitsu?"

It wasn't that she wanted to reopen wounds on her new friend but it seemed like something they could somewhat share or have in common. If anything she could offer Mitsu some form of comfort - any comfort at all. The Engraver nodded quietly nodded and offered a small smile, "Yes. I would enjoy that as well. I am sure we could be good friends, you and I."

She picked up one of her pastries and nibbled on it quietly the question from Mitsu made her pause mid-bite before she shifted her shoulders in a shrug and resumed eating and then spoke when her mouth was clear of food, "Not in a traditional sense. I have an entire clan of fellow Engravers but no single ones could be a relative other than my Twin, Needle."

There was a pause after Lattice's question, a bit of hesitation before Mitsu finally opened her mouth to speak. "I...I did." It was almost a soft whisper and it was evident by her tone that there was pain associated with her lack of family. Setting the tea cup down lightly Mitsu straightened a bit before trying to speak again. She was doing her best to get passed this, maybe talking about it more would help? "My brother has been gone for a couple of years now. It was tough being separated from him. He was really the only family I had." Though it was still tough. As close as her friends were she wished she had someone truly close that understood her like family did.

"A clan? Is that like a pack?" Mitsu was trying to relate it to terms she understood. Clan was somewhat familiar, she knew it was a group of people that stayed together but were they close like in a pack?

She was still regretting the question though Mitsu answered it with some hesitation the Engraver however took the information and nodded lightly, "I see. I apologize for your pain. I hope...Maybe some day you will be reunited," Lattice replied sincerity showing through her tone. The ghoul knew the pain of separation but honestly she was glad to not pry more than this. It seemed too painful.

"I also apologize for bringing up a painful matter, please forgive me, Mitsu." Lattice said after a small sip of tea. She didn't want to bring her friend pain.

Lattice seemed thoughtful before she nodded, "Yes a bit like a pack," she smiled lightly and resumed eating her pastry until it was gone.
