Aysu had far too much free time. She'd been trying to keep an eye on things going on with Mazin and Selene, while being grumpy at her brother, keeping up with her hunting duties and various other things.. she liked to keep busy, even if very little of it required any commitment. She was happy that way, though she had given some thought to the opinion that some obligation would do her some good.

Not a great deal, though.

It was late in the evening but Aysu wasn't ready to stop just yet. She was wandering around the edge of one of the busier areas of the pride- not far from a favorite waterhole. Humming, she had no particular plan.. but she would find something interesting to do or someone interesting to watch.

Kivuli had decided that stalking down all his children was a bit of a hassle. Having reared seven cubs, he always knew where they were and what they were doing - 'something fathers always knew' he blamed - but now that they were all on their own, it made it a journey to stalk them down. But, he had seen at least three children today, and out of seven in one day, that had been a good number.

Basking in the evening light on a flat rock, he stretched his aching paws, his eyes glancing around the pride's more . . . local area, his personal decision to off-work guard the place a last moment thought as he sidled up to such a comfortable spot.

Regardless, it wasn't much after the dark pelted lioness had made her way into the clearing that he recognized her as his youngest, Aysu, and felt that the gods were truly shining down on him in respects to . . well. . . almost bumping into his children today.

"Aysu, good evening," He called out with a air of calmness, a warm smile masking his delight in the luck gods. "What brings you here?"

Despite the dimming light working against any camouflage Kivuli Mwezi might have had, Aysu did not notice him until he called out her name. She stumbled to a stop and looked over to him. When she realized who was speaking, she smiled. She didn't see nearly enough of her father anymore!

"Daddy!" she said, walking closer so they could chat more comfortably, "I was just out for a walk, what are you doing here?"

Watching the slightly delayed reaction warmed his soul almost as much as being called Daddy in the evening light. It was one of the perks, he figured, that he received when he became a father, and made him feel really content with life when he got the ability to hear it.

Awarding her with the same wide smile he had when he saw her, he nodded to her a little, before tilting his head side to side softly. "I've been stalking your ridiculous amount of siblings out to have a chatter all day, so . . . " he started, looking at his perch, "I figured I was due for a little rest and relaxation . . . and maybe a little of guarding. I may be married to my job." he finished, chuckling softly before looking his daughter over.

"I hear you've been busy recently, or . . . Yareha has, at least."

Aysu was happy to walk up and take a seat, wasting no time for formality and just making herself comfortable. It was her father, after all! She even approved of his excuse for being about, she liked to keep up with family for the most part.. it was the most reasonable and easy of gossi to access, of course!

"Oh?" she tilted her head when he said he'd heard she was busy, but then she frowned when he mentioned Yareha, "Oh."

There was a pause before she said anything else, not particularly keen on discussing Yareha. She was still sour at him for how he had acted when she was only trying to tell him an interesting story.

"What did he say?"

Gauging from the attitude shift that Yareha's name brought up, he could only imagine that he was as lovely talking to Aysu as he had been with his father. Smirking a little, he lidded his eyes and looked away from his daughter, rolling his shoulders in a lion shrug.

"He was rather evasive, so whatever romantic notation he has going through his mind is locked away from his dear father at this time." He murmur, shrugging it off again, closing his eyes for a moment. "Knowing Yareha, whatever he's doing, he's doing it with a dose of good faith. I told him, Yareha is Yareha, Aysu is Aysu." He chidded to the air again, before looking back to Aysu.

"He took it poorly, unfortunately, but I know it's for a greater good in his mind. Don't let it bother you so, my dear, it tarnishes your beautiful face when you fret." He finished, giving his daughter a soft look.

Raising a brow at her father, Aysu tried her best to make sense of what he was saying but she just couldn't manage it. All she could get from it was that Yareha had been talking about her and now he was up to something he wouldn't tell their father. She didn't respond to him immediately, even when he offered a compliment as he tried to brush off the curious (and mighty suspicious) subject.

"He hasn't been very nice, though I suppose I shouldn't have expected much," Aysu muttered grumpily, letting her current opinion of him dominate which memories of him she could summon.

"I'm still sure he has your best interest in mind." He murmured in response. Watching the emotions race across her face made Kivuli's smile soften up into a stoic glance as he crossed his golden paws over each other, lined ears flickering. "Even if it doesn't co-encide with what you want," he finished, hoping it would help her a little.

"He's just. . . very hardheaded, you're right. He thought I thought he was still a child, which I don't . . . I just worry."

Hmmm. Of course he'd be hard on dad too. That was so like Yareha. No good, causing trouble, hurting feelings.. at least Aysu was keeping most of her grumbling to herself now or she might have said something she'd regret when she wasn't so mad at him.

"Let's talk about something else," she said decisively, "What have you been doing, besides trying to keep track of all of us?"

He couldn't help but rock his head side to side, to sort of denote nothing much, before looking to his daughter again, dropping the whole previous conversation. It seemed like it was going to be a sour topic for the both of them for awhile, and being the father in the middle . . . sometimes it was like walking through quicksand on eggshells.

"I've been . . . well. . . I've been doing what I usually do," he murmured to his daughter, replying to her query. "Daddy is not quite as exciting as his children these days, been just, enjoying the evenings that I get, now that i can stretch in my den again." A chortle came from his muzzle as he finished, before huffing a little.

"Gets a little lonely, though."

Finally, Aysu was smiling again. She did like his attitude about everything, though his remark about getting lonely was a bit of a downer. She wasn't sure what there was she could do about that, unless she tried to help him make friends or tried to set him up.. it couldn't be the same, being friends with your kids.

"You can always hang out with me, daddy," she said despite her thoughts about it, smiling at him, "Or you could go out and mingle instead of sitting about here all by yourself. Why don't you come with me now? I was headed for the water."

"I don't see why not." He murmured. "Let's go see what kind of reactions we can get."

He couldn't help but reflect his baby girl's smile, and even more so, could not help but accept her sudden decision. She was just so kind, to even her own father, so he decided that he could take just a little bit more off his day and just . . walk just a little more. It couldn't kill him.

"Alright!" she replied excitedly, getting back up to her feet and circling around her father, coming up to a stop at his side so they could walk together. This would change her plans but it would still be just as fun, if not more fun, having him around for a walk.

"Let's go, then!"
