Hi everyone.
As a refresher from the usual Gaian drivel, I figure it would be nice to see some poems posted that weren't written by melodramatic, emotionally-fragile 12 year olds for once.

As such, Here's a thread for any literarily-inclined Gaians who live in the real world, rather than that of cliche's and self-pity.

I'll begin.

This one has yet to be titled. It's inspired by the old philosophical parable of Plato's cave.

The secret isn’t in motive,
You don’t need a ‘why’ when noone knows how.
It’s in the difference between stillness and stagnancy,
In growing up, not growing old.

Cynics will tell you it's foolish,
That ignorance is bliss only 'til they take your bliss away,
But my own illogical skepticism has me smelling fear.

Fancy the shadows as truer,
and turn not your neck toward the sun.
Down he came without his eyes dear Glaucon,
let me play with my shadow-puppets for now.

Thoughts?
Suggestions?
I know my meter is pretty awful, but hey, I thought the idea was pretty good for a poem written on the spot.

Everyone else, feel free to contribute poems of your own.
But please, no more pseudo-poetic emo melodrama.
