She took a walk to think things through.. Her mind was full of a choice she knew she'd have to make sooner or later but the choice was disturbing her. On one side.. she had A friendly stallion that wanted her to be herself and not worry if she was ladylike like she wanted to be or not. Fun as he was.. was he the right choice? One the other.. she had duke.. A bit dimwitted and slow easily stunned by a girl speaking her mind of course but there was something more to him... something that the other didn't have.Heaving a heavy sigh, she shook her head and continued walking. How had it come down to this? What was the turning point where a friendship had become slightly more?

Rythorn had finally taken a day off work and after months being on the job and looking out for basically everyone and making sure the other Soq looked out for themselves and others and made sure no one was tormenting others etc he was finally allowed a break but what to do was another matter, he wasn't one for having free time so when he got it he didn't really know what to do with himself. Rythorn had decided to take a stroll around the lake before getting something to eat, maybe then he might find out what to with himself, maybe he could actually watch the stars tonight, it would give him something to do and he always had wanted to just star gaze but wasn't ever able to do so long enough before he was called back to work, maybe though, tonight would be different now that he had leave.

Scowling at herself, she grumbled and muttered tossing thoughts this way and that in her mind before finally shoving it all aside. She could see the muddy banks of a lake up ahead and a small grin played on her maw. Like her mother, she loved mud.. it just seemed to be something that soothed her mind and cares for what ever reason. The earthy smell was welcoming.. strong.. bringing back welcome memories of her time with her grandfather.
Reaching the bank, her hooves slid and sunk into the mud with a welcomed squish. A small giggle escaped her and before she knew it, she was out wading in the water. Looking down, she saw her reflection in the ripping water, her veil and bow still nicely attached in her hair. Giving a frown, she grumbled and actually thought aloud to her reflection. "What's wrong with you? Make up your mind already you fool..."

Rythorn stopped and looked up, having heard someone, noticing another a small distance away he assumed it was her but decided to ignore her, he wasn't going to butt into someone elses business, she seemed to be wanting to be alone anyway so who was he to disturb her? Rythorn carried on walking and started to walk past her, thinking about what to have for dinner.

Shighing, she dipped her muzzle into the water and disturbed her reflectiong. The sound of a passer by caught her attention though and she raised her head to see who it could be. " Hello?" Her voice was calm, polite and sweet much like she'd learned to be from her mentor as a foal.

Rythorn stopped and looked at her "hi, sorry for ignoring you but I thought you may want to be alone" he said as he walked over to her "is everything alright?" He asked curiously, not wishing to pry but thought that he would at least try and be polite and see if there was anything wrong, maybe he could help, at least he would try anyway if she wished to talk.

She flushed in embarrassment. "Oh.. that.." She chuckled awkwardly. "I was just.. thinking aloud... More or less venting my frustrations on something." She offered him a polite smile and waded out of the water, mud clinging to her wet hooves in the dry dirt. "My name's Tian.. though most my family calls me Tia for short."

"What a beautiful name however the filly who owns it has beauty that still surpasses it" he said smiling at her, not a come on exactly just a mere observation and compliment more then anything "I am Rythorn, Ry for short, if you wish, I could listen, sometimes talking things out with another helps."

She chuckled lightly at his compliment and took it at face value. "Pleasure meeting you Ry... I guess you could say it's something a bit silly.. nothing but the random mutterings of a mare torn between two suitors.... Both whom she likes equally." She admitted it was a bit.... unladylike to be having such a dilemma. Still she couldn't help but to be torn between the two of them. "I seem to be falling down a slope that's leading me to a path unbecoming of a lady." She frowned. All that training and some how she had the nagging feeling that it was all crumbling and failing.
