Rose sat on the velvet-cushioned stool infront of her mahogony dresser, brushing her long red hair with a black comb. She hummed softly to herself, not requiring a servant to perform this task as she could do it quite finely on her own, blind or not. A black blindfold covering her lovely onyx eyes showed her disability to the world. She knew she'd be meeting a new man today, and knew for a fact he was, as all of them were, interested in her money and nothing more. As dissapointed and annoyed as the girl was, Rose knew she could only turn each down as they came.

Darius opened his eyes when his attendant, Alexander, informed him that they would soon reach their destination. Sighing, he lifted the curtain to peer out the window of the carriage. They had been riding for hours and the sun was slowly starting to set behind the hills. The carriage came to a halt and Darius did not wait for someone to open the door for him. He hopped down onto the gravel path and looked up at the large mansion before him. He let out a whistle of awe before strolling up to the front door.

Darius stood silently in the entrance hall with his hands in his pockets. Alexander had already announced his arrival to the servants who answered the door, and they were now busy whispered amongst themselves. Darius tried to ignore them as he looked around the room. She certainly has a nice place, he thought, examining a piece of artwork hanging on the wall.

The whispering suddenly stopped and Darius looked to see why. A beautiful young woman with long red hair, who Darius assumed was Rose, was slowly descending the staircase. Darius took his hands out of his pockets and walked over to the bottom of the stairs, Alexander by his side. "May I present Lord Darius Winterfell of Leona, son of Duke and Duchess Geoffry Winterfell." Darius bowed and took Rose's hand in his before placing a light kiss upon it. "M'lady," he said respectfully.

"And to you," Darius said. He looked into Rose's face and smirked. He could tell that she was putting up a front. He did study acting in his spare time, after all. Sighing, he straightened up to get a better look at his hopeful bride-to-be. She was at least a head shorter than he, wearing a crimson dress and black blindfold around her eyes. She is beautiful, Darius thought with a smile. However, everyone failed to mention she is blind...

"Well," Darius said, breaking the silence. "Shall we get acquainted with one another?" He glanced back at Alexander and motioned for him to leave them alone together. His attendant bowed and said, "M'lord," before going off to do whatever. Darius always wondered what Alexander did when he was not waiting on him, but now was not the time to find out. He truly did want to get to know Rose better.
