Who ever keeps a feather? Well, not in anything but hyper-sensitive and emotional movies. Quiddie had seen feathers fall before. Sometimes she picked them up and looked at them a bit. Mostly she'd just step over them.

But not this one.

First, it struck her as strange to see the slowly wafting feather at all...it was about ten o'clock on a chilly winter evening. She was walking down the last twenty feet of the path to her house, when she noticed it out of the corner of her eye.

Why would there be a feather here, floating gently on a wind she couldn't feel? Birds don't fly at night for the most part...and most had flown south for the winter anyhow.

Not to mention the fact that despite the stray streetlamp here and there, there was very little light. But she could see every single strand of the silvery little feather. It seemed to have it's own source of faint but very blueish light. Quiddie extended out her arm and watched entranced as the
feather floated down into her hand as though there were no other place for it to have gone.

The moment the downy-soft object touched her skin, her mind echoed with a single, crystal-clear word and a sudden understanding that this was given into her protection, and that she must guard the feather with her life. With her very soul.

She retracted her hand, staring purposefully at the beautiful new adventure that lay in her possession.

"Logos."

She blinked, swallowing as her throat suddenly ran dry.

"I will protect you."

Quiddie returned home after another busy day wading through the Gaian Marketplace. Logos greeted her merrily at the door, clinging to her leg.

Quiddie patted the child on her head, dropping her overstuffed bags. "I brought you something, Logos."

It was about time Logos had a friend...or just something or someone other than Quiddie to dote on. She enjoyed being the center of the little Hououza's world, but she ultimately feared for her future social skills. Perhaps...hopefully this would be a good start to building her independence.

She rummaged through two different bags before finding what she'd been looking for.

"There was a little shop on the Isle de Gambino, Sweetie. I saw these and thought immediately of you."

She pulled out two bulbous stuffed kitties, and after a moment's conemplation, Logos squealed happily and accepted the gifts!

"Danke, Mommy! I love them! And I'll take very good care of them!"

"I know you will, Sweetie. Have fun!"

(She was sure to have bought a back-up of each of them, just in case something happened to the originals.) xd



Update: Quiddie gave the second cotton-candy colored Mew to who she hopes will become Logos' first friend, Sasame. heart
