Calypso was lost.
At one point in her journey, she had known exactly where she was going. That sense of purpose has since died out, as had her food supply, and on a routine hunt, she hadn't been able to find her way back to her temporary 'den'. It was a ramshackle burrow, probably used by some small rodent colony, and for a while it had been perfect. But now....
Calypso found herself pulled to the edge of a pride before she was even aware of it. The music coming within had been like a siren's call to her, drawing her ever closer before she caught herself. She was no dainty lioness; that much was clear with one look at her musucular frame and exceptional height. In her youth, it was a prize for her warrior life style, but now it kept her from following the music as it faded away.

When Kova was younger and for most of his life, he used to spend most of his time in the pride circle. He loved to dance, sing and use the drum. Like his father he loved to dance, Kova loved to dance. He spent a lot of his time around the dance circle. He liked to teach cubs and play and also dance he loved to dance so much. However now it was a little different, with his cubs older and doing their own things, with him by himself the drum circle almost depressed him. He hadn't known where his mate was for a long time. He didn't know what happened to her at all he really didn't know what happened to her, even though he was over the fact that he didn't have her any more, his probelm was that he was alone, he didn't like being alone. He really didn't want to be alone at all anymore.
He had been wandering toward the borders of his pride instead lately, he could be left alone out here and during the gatherings he didn't feel as lonely. To Kova this was something that was always very nice To Kova it was almost as if he had more of a right to be lonely while he was out here doing his own thing. To him it was much more justified. However this time as he was wandering he was a little surprised to find some one else wandering around these lands. His ears perked up as he loooked in her direction before calling out to the lioness. "Are you lost?" He called, not that sure what else to say to her. He hadn't really encountered any lions outside of the pride recently so to run into this female was a very interesting adventure. He was hoping that she wasn't looking into any trouble though. He still knew he had a bit of a duty to defend the pride.

"Oh." Calypso turned her head towards an approaching lion sheepishly. She'd been so lost in her own world that she hadn't noticed him. "No..." She paused, and shook her head distantly. "Yes. I started this journey with a purpose, and now that it's gone, I don't know where I'm at." She grinned, "Though, I'm sure that's not really an answer, is it?"
She stepped forward, her muscular frame moving with what feminine grace she had left. If any remained, it had been so thoroughly beaten by the constant war effort that it might have resembled a cub walking after her mother. "What pride is this? I've never heard such wonderful music before."

Kova looked at the lioness curiously, he had never seen her around before and she sure had an interesting answer to his question. It amused him, she was smart and interesting. He liked that. "I know that feeling." He answered approaching her a little more and nodding at her, he flicked his tail behind her a few times and then grinned at her from ear to ear. "It works as an answer." he chunckled a little. He was about to telll her where she was at until he processed her question and a grin grew on her face. He was so proud of his pride. "This is the Nchi'mahadhi pride." He told her, the large grin was still on her face, he loved his pride very much. "It's a pride based on music. It's in every part of our lives, and we choose to acknowledge that."

"The Nchi'mahadhi? I can't say that I've heard of it before, but then again, I've led a secluded life." One battle right after the other left her with little to no time to actually learn about those she was defending. Or even destroying, for that matter. All thoughts of inter-pridal affairs were left to the higher ups, and she...Well, Calypso had, and alway would be, a foot soldier. Still, by the way he was smiling she could tell that the male really did love his pride very much. His smile was infectious, and managed to brighten her own.
"If you don't mind clarifying, how is music in every part of your life? Or the lives of your pride members? I can understand the passion of it, but to base a pride around it..." Calypso wasn't trying to shed a dark light on the pride itself; actually, she just wanted to know more.

Kova paused for a moment as she glanced at the female once again before a small chuckle escaped his lips. "Well," he started with a pause, it wasn't really that surprising at all to know that some one didn't know where his pride was. It wasn't the first lion that he had met that didn't know what his pride was. It wasn't that well known of a pride. "Most others don't know about it in general, really we're a not that well known. We're a quiet pride and we're pretty hidden, well at least not that many others come in our way looking for a pride." He laughed and then settled back on his haunches and flicked his hair out of his eyes before speaking to the female once again.
"Well..." He thought about how to explain it. "Everything has a rhythm," he paused looking at her with a smile once again. "It's odd but really to us it makes sense. Everything has a voice, makes a sound. Especially lions we all have a rhythm. But it takes some one who understands that and embraces it to be in our pride." He nodded at the idea before pausing once again. "We welcome all into our pride to start teaching each other and helping eachother and then it hits you one day!" He laughed once again before looking at her once again. "It's very nice, we all are friendly and we have times where we all get together and enjoy playing together." He nodded once again flicking his hair out of his eyes. He always felt like his mother had a better time explaining it but she was hoping she got what he was trying to say.
