[Backlog to Adolescence]
Velveteen Angel

Kasi'wakia was, for once, not near the duelling area. Her teacher had been busy that day, so she would have no lessons in the art of duelling and there seemed to be few people in the duelling area when she had checked it earlier in the morning, so she didn't bother to wait around. Instead, she was just walking in the desert just out from the main area of the dens.

She could have returned to her family's den and spent time with her siblings but that was boring and they were so noisy - though that probably came from there being so many of them. Kasi enjoyed the silence of the desert sometimes, because few people tended to wander out into it when the sun began to approach the hottest part of the day and Kasi took advantage of that fact as often as she could. She was careful not to move too far out though, in case she lost her way and ended up stuck out there in the heat of midday.

She'd gone through another growth spurt recently, resulting in slightly uncoordinated movements but her duelling training helped her retain some grace as she moved.

Kakek had also been going through a bit of a growth spurt. He was going through what many called the awkward stages of his life. His legs had grown long and lanky. He moved around more awkwardly. However his body was beginning to become more bulky with muscle. And almost more importantly he was beginning to grow in a mane. At the moment it looked more like a mohawlk but he didn't really care, he loved it so much. He was starting to get big and strong and a large firekin like his grandfather, which he was named after. He was very proud of himself because of that. He was excited to do more and more things including more and more of his job but for now he was happy with what he was doing.

Today he had off from training and he didn't have to help his mother around the pride and that made him pretty happy. It was a sort of a break you could say. He didn't like breaks but today his teacher insisted and he could deal with it. He enjoyed working more than anything else. He didn't take it lightly that was for sure. However along with his growing he had calmed down a bit. He wasn't as much of a troublemaker but there was one thing for sure, he still enjoyed teasing others from time to time. When ever he got the chance really. Espically his siblings. And there was another that he liked to tease but he didn't know where she was at the moment.

However he was relaxing in the shade, enjoying a break from the summer heat. He was sitting by the oasis, laid out on his side, flicking his tail around. However he had a better idea. He stood and wandered into the oasis, letting the water flow around the middle of his legs. It felt so nice to have the cool water on his legs. He knew that he wasn't the only one who enjoyed bathing in these waters.

The sun began to beat down on Kasi's back with more aggression as it approached the hottest time of the day and she winced. Sure, she was pretty light coloured since she was red and white, but it was still pretty hot in the sun. She glanced around, and was pleased to note that she was near the oasis. She could have a quick dip in the water and then go back to her walking before things got too crowded. Perfect!

She set off towards the oasis with a confident stride. When she was younger, she had been quite aggressive to make up for bouts of insecurity but her training - and maybe just growing up a bit - meant that she had grown a lot more confident in herself.

As she drew closer to the oasis, she noticed a figure in the water. Not unusual, but as she drew closer, she stiffled a groan. Kakek. He wasn't as insufferable as he had been when they'd been cubs, but ugh, he still knew how to push her buttons and make her forget about trying to be level headed. She was hot and tired though, so she continued to approach the Oasis.

He was really enjoying the feeling of the water on his pelt. He moved forward a little more so that he could feel more of it on his chest. He smiled as he did. He loved the feeling of the water, during hot days like this he enjoyed it even more. He was almost completely distracted by the feeling of the water, he almost didn't notice the sent of the other approaching. ALMOST. He chuckled some when he realized who it was. Kasi was around his den often, she had been often. Either she was coming to see Aithne, who was a few dens away from Kakek, and a good amount of the time in his den to spend time with Azar. Or Kasi was there to see Azar. His mother happened to be Kasi's teacher.

He turned around to look a the female. "Well look who we have here." He chuckled a little quietly, shaking his head as he did. "Being a little lazy today?" He asked. He knew that he worked quiet often but like his mother he could swear he almost never saw Kasi take much of a break. He did appreciate the lioness for working so hard however he still enjoyed to pick on her and push her buttons mostly because he really enjoyed seeing how she would react. She wasn't his favorite person in the world but she was always amusing and interesting. Either way today looked like one of those days where he was going to have fun picking on her if she liked it or not.

Kasi was unsurprised when he noticed her fairly quickly. He wasn't stupid, as much as it pained her to admit it. He was actually kinda smart, but that didn't mean he wasn't irritating still. She scowled at him as she drew closer to the water, which meant coming closer to him - unfortunately.

She bristled a little at his comment. "Lazy?" She scoffed. "Isn't that a bit of the fire calling the sun bright?** " She looked at the water he was standing in pointedly, looking unimpressed with his words. She was not lazy. In fact, she hadn't taken a break all week and this was well deserved, she justified to herself.

Deciding to ignore him, something that never really turned out too well, she moved into the water. Sighing as the cold water hit her overheated pelt, she gave a slight purr of delight, hoping it was quiet enough that Kakek wouldn't hear. Aah, the water was exactly what she had needed, she thought happily, pushing Kakek's presence as far from her mind as possible.

[** ooc: the "fire calling the sun bright" is my lame firekin equivilant to "pot calling the kettle black". -cough- ]

Kakek knew at times that he was a little lazy. He wasn't going to lie, however he also worked really hard most of the time. She he was not calling the sun bright that was for sure, not this time anyway. He shook it off though, he knew that she was trying to push his buttons just as much as he was trying to push her buttons. Or at least that was what he thought anyway. He smirked as he watched her, he couldn't help but to be amused by her. He just really wanted to give her a hard time. "Yeah lazy." He teased once again.

He splashed around in the water some before realizing that she wasn't really paying too much attention to him. He didn't like that. He couldn't bother her when she wasn't paying attention. He looked at her before coming up with a better idea, he turned around and started to head out of the watering hole he had an idea of what he was doing he was hoping that she would think that he was leaving. However after he turned out of the watering hole he turned around and then looked toward her again a grin before taking off into the water, running closer to him and then half jumpping up and playing his paws on her rump attempting to pull her down. He was being a little playful but he also knew that it was probably going to annoy her.

She scowled at his 'lazy' tease, but otherwise ignored him, focusing on the water. Perhaps if she ignored him enough, he might leave. She was hopeful, but doubtful that it would work.

She heard him moving around, but didn't look. She forced herself not to. Looking would imply she cared what he was doing and she didn't, so she didn't look. Simple, right? Which also meant that she was completely unprepared for when he launched himself at her.

She yowled as he grabbed at her, his paws at her rump tugging her down with him as he landed in the water. Her back legs gave a little, causing her to crash down into the water and become even more wet. Which cooled her, but it also irritated her - a lot.

"Kakek! You JERK!" she shrieked, trying to push herself up, feeling water logged and irritated. She spun around to glare at him.

Kakek couldn't help but to break out into laughter as she fought against what he was doing, not only that but her annoyance with him as he did it.he found it really amusing. He liked to pick on her hwne he could. "Come ooonnn Kasi, Lighten-uppp." He whined to her and swiped a paw at her a smirk was still on his face He backed up and swiped a paw at the female playfully.

((I was thinking, if you have the time, you should set up a RP with her pregnant, or If I have itme before I go back home~))

Kasi scowled at him furiously, growing even more annoyed as he whined and swiped at her. She was, vaguely, aware that he was being playful. Kakek wasn't the type to really fight 'seriously' as she had learnt in their attempted cub-duels as youth while Kasi was being taught the basics of duelling by Azar. He was more the lazy sort, not the battling sort, or so Kasi thought.

"You need to grow up, Kakek!" She snapped at him, as he told her to lighten up. She summoned her strength and smacked the water near him, sending water splashing towards him - aiming for his face, but not caring if she missed her target, as long as she got him somewhat wet. Ugh, the jerk.

Kakek couldn't help but to laugh at the lioness's frustration, he was very, very amuse by the fact that she was getting more and more annoyed at him. He enjoyed that the more he messed with her the more frustrated he got. He found it extremely amusing and he just wanted to get her more and more angry that was for sure. he paused for a moment as he looked at her before chuckling and moved out of the way of her swipe, he still got a little wet but it made him laugh a little more and then he shook his head at ehr out of amusement. "You're just a grump." She told him pretty annoyed at the fact that he was telling him that he needed to grow up but at the same time very much hiding the fact that he was annoyed, instead he snorted as he looked at her

"you're just a grump." He stated to her simply shaking his head in the process before speaking. "You take things much to seriously."

Kasi was pleased that she had managed to splash him a little, but it wasn't really that much. She'd rather hoped to splash him in the face completely, but that didn't happen. Stupid aim! Clearly she had to practice a lot more than she was. She'd double her time spent training. Maybe she could ask Azar for some extra sessions even...

She bristled at his insult. "I'd rather be a grump and take life seriously, than be a childish jerk and waste my time!" She announced, though she knew he was hard working. It was hard to miss the fact that he did actually train, and he wasn't some big huge fat firekin, he was growing up nicely, but he was still a jerk - and Kasi doubted that would ever change.

She huffed, feeling groggy and water-logged. She padded towards the edge of the water, no longer interested in 'keeping cool' considering she had already lost her temper.

Kakek looked at the lioness and then he couldn't help but to chuckle a little bit. Smiling at him, she was amusing, he liked her a lot and he couldn't help but to pick on her a lot, he couldn't help he was amused, especially since she got so grumpy there was nothing more amusing then when Kasi was grumpy. He smirked from ear to ear as he looked at her before laughing a little. "Okay Kasi, if you say so." He flicked his tail behind him before he started to head the other way, not really interested in hanging around her for too much longer. He had his fill of bothering her today. "I will see you around Kasi." He stated before he started to trot the opposite direction of her. He could go find something else to do for today.
