There he stood, on the beach, yet again. Why he liked the ocean so much was never very clear to him. The sand sneaked into clothing, the smell of brine clung to fur, and one time, a seagull relieved itself on his mask. Really, he should absolutely hate the beach... but there he was again, standing up to his ankles in the cool, salty water, staring off into the horizon. He was there often enough that the local Mer's and Kelpi's stopped to greet him as they went about their business.

With a sigh, he turned from the never ending water and went for a run down the beach. The sand kicked up by his hooves fell heavily as he picked up speed and was soon thundering down the straight stretch of land.

User Image Annabell wasn't sure why she was at the beach, she had been told to go West not East! But for some reason she was... drawn here. Something that didn't make sence since Annabell was not exactly the type who generally went to places she hadn't been ordered to, and she certainly wasn't one to go by her instincts and change a plan... after all, that may take her towards her 'destiny' and she was trying to avoid that as much as possible! Annabell didn't want to die.

The prediction that surrounder her ever since the moment of her brith haunted her thoughts, but today she was determned not to let her mind wander towards it.

Walking straight up to the Ocean's edge she stared out at the changing scene. In an out. Soft and dramatic at the same time, it was a world of contradictions... beauty and danger all mixed into one package. The blue and whites fascinated her, and as the Ocean waves licked their way up the shore and around her ankles she couldn't help but lower her head to watch them. She smiled softly, it tickled, dragging the longer tuffs of hair with it as it tried to make its way back to the Ocean.

She was so caught up for a moment that she never heard the clatter of approaching hooves until it was too late. Turning with a flash she opened her wings instinctively... ready to fly away at a moments notice. Shock covered her features and her breath caught in her throat... she was almost positive she her wing had hit something. Turning to tried to see what it was....

Dimitri was lost in thought as he gained a constant gait, running down the beach purely by memory of its every bump and pitfall. He did not pay attention to those he ran past, aside from making sure that he did not run into anyone. Then again, he was not expecting any of them to make any sudden movements. His mind vaguely registered a brown, winged mare as he ran by her, and he gave her enough breadth so as not to brush alongside her. It was wing that she suddenly snapped open that he had not been anticipating.

It hit him full on in the side of his face and it sent him sprawling to the side and into the sand. A wave of dust was picked up as his momentum pushed him forward a few tail-lengths before he came to a stop with a grunt. Groaning, Dimitri lay there for a moment, conscious only to the fact that at least his mask had stayed on and that he was covered in sand. He wasn't sure if he wanted to get back up again immediately or wait for his ears to stop ringing...

Annabell's gasped wildly as he eyes first saw the legs of what ever she had hit... then the torso... and finally the head and forelegs. She has hit another soquili!

The thought hit her so suddenly that it stunned her and for a moment she could nothing more than gasp and stare helplessly down at the fallen form of the one she had 'attacked' -even if it had been an accident.

Of course, it only took a moment for her mind to clear, and when it did she felt a wave of guilt wash over her and her mind started to race with one concept -she needed to help him! All at once the words spilt from her lips, "I am so sorry! Please forgive me.... are you ok? Did you hit your head? Does anything hurt?" She tried to eye up his body for the signs of any wounds and injuries; but it was difficult with the material that seemed to cover his body, she had never seen anything like it before... and on his face was... what were they called? It took her a moment to remember... a mask! Again, it was such an alien concept to her. There was nothing familar about the fallen form before her, no wings or horn, no stars and moons.... but at the same time he was still a horse, and she had hurt him so it was her duty to help.

As Dimitri's head stopped spinning and the ringing faded from his ears, he felt something bubbling up from his throat... it started off as a grunt and then burst out into a full-throated laugh. What else could he do but laugh it off? He had made a royal fool of himself, not keeping in mind that perhaps he should watch where he was going.

Opening his electric blue eyes to blackness, Dimi realized his mask must have slipped sideways ever so slightly and he hurriedly nudged it back into position. Still chuckling, and with a grunt of effort, Dimi tried to regain his hooves... but as he stood, his head spun and he fell into the sand again, still laughing. With a flick of his tail, Dimi finally addressed whoever he had run into, not really able to see them yet, though he heard from the voice that it was a female, "Nothing more hurts than my pride, good lady... there is nothing to forgive."

As the laugh wound down to just a gentle chuckle every once in a while, Dimi got his hooves underneath him, as though to try and get up again. With one more surge of strength, Dimitri brought himself to his feet once more and stood there, swaying. Now, the black stallion was finally able to get a look at his accidental attacker... and his jaw dropped...

Annabell couldn't help but continue to feel bad. She didn't like it when she caused harm or injury to others, hated it still when she upset someone.... though it did seem that the stallion was not mad, if anything he was.... laughing? She blinked and blinked again, perhaps he had hit his head REALLY hard and it was making him to the opposite? So rather than crying he was laughing?

She was about to say something to him when he tried to stand up and stumbled. Reflexes and instinct had he moving towards him, and it was only the thought that males were proud and that he probably wouldn't appreciate her aid that had her stopped. "Becareful." She whsipered instead, saying a silent prayer that he would regain his balance unharmed soon.

When he finally managed to stand she noticed instantly the wobble of his legs, they seemed to simply refuse to hold his weight.... unable to stand back anymore she moved instinctively towards him only to stop when his mouth literally fell open. Frozen to the spot she looked around, "What? WHAT?" He heart started racing and she couldn't help but think.... is there a monster behind me?

Dimitri noticed the female try to assist him once or twice, but she held back. What curious behavior... it was as though she didn't wish to harm him more? Was she usually clumsy? Judging by the stinging in his face and neck where she had clouted him with her wings, the answer was yes. But putting the pain aside, he was almost glad she had knocked him off his feet.

Quickly snapping his mouth shut, he started to shake his head but stopped as the movement made his head spin even more. With a gentle chuckle he replied softly, as though trying to placate a frightened rabbit, "Forgive me for startling you... it's just... Well, to be completely honest, it has been a long while since I was last graced by the presence of an Angeni, let alone one quite as stunning as yourself.... no, I should not be so forward." He bit his lip and looked away. It was unusual for him to be so tongue-tied, but then again... how usual was it to get buffeted by the wings of a glorious Angeni?

Annabell had been looking around in fear that their was a monster behind her when the stranger before her spoke again.... she literally froze to the spot, her limps refusing to move, refusing to turn back or forward. She gulped and bullied up the courage to finally turn back to him, a deep red blush covered her cheeks. She was rarely the target of such words, as there were far more beautiful mares within her hidden herd... plus she was the one who was cursed, that tended to cause the stallions to leave her be.

"Em....ah...." She was flustered, knowing it was very unfit for an Angeni but she simply couldn't seem to form any words. Gulping again she bowed her head to him, the blush still heavy upon her cheeks. "Thank you, you are most kind."

Dimitri groaned inwardly as he realized he must have just made things even more awkward than they already were with this loose tongue. This was why he usually hid behind pretty prose and twisted sentences- like his mask, they kept the judgement of others at bay by concealing. Alas, there was not much he could do at this point to reverse the damage already done. With a jovial shrug of his shoulders he replied smoothly, "It is nothing, I was only speaking the truth."

Well great... now that they had gotten past his head trauma and her beauty, Dimitri could not think of what else to go on. Pretty things tended to dazzle him, though he insisted he was not that shallow. Composing himself with a flashy smile, he continued, "I can only hope that my terribly hard head did not injure your lovely wings..." This said with the hopes of lightening the mood and perhaps making the lovely lady feel more comfortable... though that blush was quite adorable. Had he ever seen an Angeni blush before? Adorable indeed. "May I be so bold as to inquire off you attraction to the ocean this fine day?"
