The night had progressed without much incident whatsoever. Kallichore stood on the stone cold edge of a building, looking out over Destiny City. Since joining the Jovians, her patrols had no let up, but there wasn't an overwhelming sense of urgency and failure that she'd felt before. No, the Blood Moon was a thing of the past for her now and she rather liked it that way. No more wondering whether or not she'd live up to expectations and no threat of death for leaving with secrets. Truth be told, she had no real secrets on the Blood Moon Court - she'd only entered at the bottom level and left just the same without any upward momentum whatsoever.

And it didn't matter to her anymore.

Where the others were, she didn't know. Kallichore tended to patrol on her own and split off from the others to cover more ground. Now she had Tomlin, the resident cat, alongside her. His company was unusual, but she appreciated it. Perhaps he knew more about what was going on than she ever could, and it wasn't every day that she could sit down and have a chat with one of the magical felines. The wind kicked up in a burst of cold fury, sending Kallichore's tattered fuku in all directions. She wondered whether or not the Jovians really would stick together through it all.

Ganymede had said that it would take work, but he was willing to put in the effort. If Ganymede, the one Kallichore butted heads with the most, was willing to give it his all, then who was she to think otherwise? It seemed like all of them were of the opinion that sticking together was the best option. Kallichore wanted to believe in them.

The city was beautiful at night. Tomlin had been operating at street level for so long, he'd almost forgotten what it felt like to catch a breeze that wasn't brought on by rushing wheels, and he was glad he'd chosen to follow the Senshi of Madness to her current perch. The stars, he felt, were a little brighter up this high.

For tonight, at least, he'd deemed that his Callisto was safe without him, and had finally taken the time to start checking up on the other members of their court. After everything that he'd heard at the meeting, that was a duty that shouldn't be delayed any longer. He needed to know them all to help them best. And Kallichore was at the top of his list - not because she was one of the familiar ones, the ones that his heart knew, though the awareness was only getting stronger as he met more of the senshi. It worried him, sickened him, how close the forces of chaos had come to taking her away.

He wrapped his tail around his paws in defense against the buffeting winds, and cast a sidelong glance at the ragged super senshi. She seemed to be doing okay. She was a strong one, definitely.

Ganymede tapped his foot against the ground a block or two away, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against an alleyway wall, waiting. Every once in a while, he peaked out from the dark recesses between the two buildings to check on the progress made by his patrol partner, but saw nothing more than a few stragglers entering and exiting the building he was currently using to rest against. It had been a long but relatively peaceful night so far, almost relaxing -- or as relaxing as hunting monsters could possibly be.

Valhalla had been the one to suggest they make a quick stop before going their separate ways and heading home. Ganymede hadn't seen much of a reason to argue, though it made him anxious to stand there waiting by himself while Val powered down to satisfy his sudden urge for a late night doughnut run. He'd have been perfectly content to head home a little early and fall into bed -- it had been a long day -- but he found it difficult to say "no" when Val had offered so nicely.

He was relieved to finally be rejoined in the alley and didn't bother to conceal his worry. "It took you long enough. Hurry and power back up," he said, glancing around to make sure they were quite alone, before taking the two hot drinks and warm pastries from the page so that Val could return to his powered form unhindered.

"Here," he offered Val's drink and snack back to him once the transformation was complete. "Thanks," he added, sipping his hot chocolate and backing further into the alley, to the fire-escape that climbed the building next-door. "Let's hit the roofs."

"Sorry, the cashier was taking his time. I didn't realize it would be so difficult to do something he's being paid for," Valhalla grumbled, mostly to himself as he returned to his powered self, taking the drink from Ganymede and moving to follow him to the fire escape before pausing suddenly. "There's someone up there already," he said, shifting the bag of doughnuts into the same hand as his drink so he could reach out and grab the back of Ganymede's collar.

"Give me a second," he hissed at him, trying to concentrate on the energy he could feel and try to determine if it was familiar or not. "I think we know them... whoever it is." He couldn't place a name or face to it, but it was definitely the energy of a super senshi. And there were only a handful of super senshi that he knew, other than Ganymede.

He nodded to his patrol partner, giving him the okay to head up the ladder to the roof, following behind him and looking around once at the top. "Over there," he said, looking towards the dark outline of a figure on the roof a few buildings away. "Can you see who it is?" he asked, but took a quick sip of his drink and leapt over the edge of the building and onto another, closer to the figure, before Ganymede had a chance to say anything.

Well, all the little ducks sitting so nicely in a row...It had been the flickering power signals that had attracted the lone general first, and he was now taking the time to closer study what had caught his interest. One was a senshi, for certain, and the other... Well Obsidian was an advocate of investigating things for one's self in order to gain knowledge!

They climbed to the roof, peering and whispering amongst themselves, and the General finally decided that he was bored with merely watching. How would Serenity's chosen do when put to the test? Pulling his blade free from the Negaspace, Obsidian sliced through the air--sending a burning blast of heated air towards the pair.

"You really ought to be more careful when flaunting around," He drawled with a laziness that didn't match the suddenly eager gleam in his eye. Easily enough, he leapt to the roof that they were currently occupying, running his thumb along the blade of his sword. "You never know just what might be lurking the dark..."

His eyes slid from Valhall to Ganymede and back again, a slow grin curling at the corners of his mouth. This might be fun. "Who knows? You might just have the advantage here... Two on one."

((I am so sorry about the delay on this! It was a combination of school starting + Gaia eating my post when I hit 'submit' without me realizing it. ;; ))

Ganymede would have responded to the page, told him there was no way for him to see who it was from this distance, though he could sense the senshi there and agreed that it felt familiar. One of the Jovians, perhaps? They were the only ones he was truly familiar with, and there was only one of them, other than himself, who had he power reading of a super senshi. He had no time to answer before Valhalla launched himself from one roof to the next and, not wanting to be left behind, he followed.

The next energy signature he felt could have come out of no where -- and did, but only because he wasn't paying as much attention as he knew he should. He had just landed on the next roof when he sensed it, and had just enough time to grab Val but the arm and pull him out of the way as hot air rushed toward them both.

He turned with a start and nearly dropped his hot chocolate as he gazed at a Negaverse officer he'd never seen before. His eyes stared, wide and obviously terrified, at the sword in his hands.

"We... we were just going," he said, inwardly berating himself for stammering, for seeming like such a coward.

But what was he supposed to do? Running was out of the question. They'd just be followed. But he wasn't dumb enough to challenge a man with a sword.

"What do you want?"

Valhalla skidded to a stop as Ganymede grabbed his arm and he felt the dark energy from directly behind him. s**t... he hadn't even realized they had been spotted. He whirled around as the senshi did, staring in shock, horror, and a bit of awe at the Negaverse officer with the sword. And despite the man's words, he doubted a page and super senshi could take on who he was pretty sure was a general. He'd run into one before, another with a large sword, and had somehow survived.

"Wait!" he quickly said, leaning down to place the bag of pastries and drink on the ground, holding up his hands as he stood. "Wait, wait. We don't want to fight," he tried to explain, his heart racing and his mind whirling as he realized the danger he was putting both himself, Ganymede, and whoever was a few roofs away.

He subconsciously took a step in front of Ganymede, as if someone as magic-less as himself could protect his friend from the threat of the man with the sword. "We just want to protect civilians from youma. That's our only intention." He was surprised by how level he was keeping his voice. Half of him was urging his body to run, but the other wanted to try and figure things out between them.

But what else could he say that wouldn't result in getting run through by a dangerous looking person? His hands remained up, wanting to prove that he was unarmed, as well as preparing himself to shove Ganymede out of the way if it came down to that. He could only hope that whoever was several roofs away would get out of there while they could.
