It was just another bright and sunny day, Thom sat on his couch pawing through old books of history of the island, many with old faces he recognized. The home had been quiet... too quiet, this worried him, mind you he was a bit of a paranoid male, his past didn't help that. It wasn't like Ama to spend this many days away, he hadn't found her at HQ or any of her normal haunts that he knew of... in fact he didn't see any faun, and that made it even more worrisome.

It'd been a full day since the ceremonies at the Great Tree, and Amadorine had yet to make her return to her home. First, after spending the night and most of the day resting and recovering, she had to make a trip to the Fae Clearing to return a certain flower to a Guardian's crown. Then she had to speak with her father. Now, dressed in her new clothes with a leather pouch hanging from her neck and the lantern swinging at the crook of her arm, the orange faun made her way back to the home she shared with Thom. With a big yawn, she walked into the cave.
"Hey Thom. I'm back."

Thom looked up in surprise he'd not heard anyone enter the home, "Ama!" a wave of relief washing over him seeing the faun. He didn't even notice at first the change in attire she now wore. "I was getting worried" he admits to her plainly. He takes a deep breathe, the breathe he felt like had been held for days from his worry now released.

A guilty grin came over her face. "Sorry, I would have been back this morning but I had a few things to take care of." Absently she played with her now rather long hair as she made her way to her spot. Placing the lantern up on the shelf she sighed and flopped down. "Damn it feels nice to be home again. You have NO idea how long it feels like it's been."

There was no reply to Ama's statement from Thom nor even a single sound, in fact if she looked towards him she'd see him staring jaw slack and unmoving. He'd just noticed the clothing she wore, and her playing with her hair brought it to his attention, not to mention the changes in her antlers. Get your mind outta the gutter he thought to himself, she'd been living with him as a roommate for a long time, and he'd not ever seen her look as she did now.

At the silence that followed, Ama sighed and sat up, looking over to Thom. "Look I know you're mad-" She stopped speaking mid sentence and blinked, then tilted her head to the side. Why was he staring at her like that. "Hey, what's up?"

Thom gulps and in a squeaky voice he start "Since when.." he coughs to clear his voice "Since when did you dress like that... and Since when did you have long hair"

Ama raised her eyebrows at the squeak that sounded in Thom's voice, then laughed a little. "Well, the clothes were given to me by our chief, Rais, to go with my new position on his council. As for the hair and antlers? Well, I'm now known as Amadorine of the Elm Tree, and my hair sort of grew out through the magic of the ceremony I guess. I'm not sure what I'm ganna do with it; probably chop it short again."

Thom nods, his eyes still glued to her form. Then it sunk in... Position on the leaders council... did that mean she'd have to move?. "What.. what do you have to do? I mean... " well he didn't know what he meant, or rather he did but he wasn't sure he wanted to say it. Thom had grown to like the female, he never regretted letting her move in. Thing was he never had admitted it, nor was he sure he'd be ready too in near future or not. After his past losses, two mates, four children, the male was too scared to put himself in another position like that again.

"Well, it means that I might have to travel a lot. I mean, I guess I'm kinda a glorified scout in ways." She rolled her shoulders in a shrug. "But if it's ok with you, I'd still like to keep my place here too. I'm going to need a place that I can come back to and call home."
Drawing her knees up, Amadorine started twirling her hair and watching Thom with hopeful eyes. She really hoped he wouldn't kick her out.

He listens to her explanation and nods slowly his heart sinking a lil... Well until he heard her request and a sense of relief flooded him, he did his best to hide it though. "Yeah, of course you can stay, I wouldn't have let you move in if I was gonna kick you out for just doing your job" he kept his voice level and gave a soft smile as he did.

"Really?" She exclaimed, leaping up and throwing her arms around him. She hugged him tightly, her little faun tail wiggling in pure joy. "Oh I'm so happy! Thank you!:

Thom's eyes went wide as he was suddenly pounced, as he glanced over her shoulder he saw her tail wag happily and he returned her hug though he blushed visibly, and it was doubtful to be gone before the hug ended "You are welcome Ama" he squeaks at her once more. Well partly cause her hug was rather tight but not entirely.
"How often do you have to travel?" he asks her Hopefully not too much he adds in his mind.

Pulling away from him, Ama stretched her back and yawned, then flopped back down to sit on her cot. She really was still exhausted from it all still. "I shouldn't have to travel ALL that much. And... and I'll always come back home."
She paused a little, then shrugged. "And I guess it was a good thing I didn't get chosen to marry Rais. I think I'd miss living out here too much."

"Good, glad to hear you wont be moving around too much, it's been a lil too quiet without you for the last few days." He nods sitting down and trying to shake off the blush. And then he heard the rest of her words "Wait... what???? you almost married the faun leader?" he turned to her in shock, and his eyes widening.
