current lesson charms 1 charms lesson 3
Accio
Pronunciation: Various suggestions have been made, including:
/ˈækioʊ/ AK-ee-oh
/ˈæksioʊ/ AK-see-oh
/ˈæsioʊ/ a**-ee-oh
Description: This charm summons an object to the caster, potentially over a significant distance.
Suggested Etymology: The Latin word accio means "I call" or "I summon". In the Hungarian translation, the spell is called "Invito", possibly from the word "to invite".
An object can be placed under counter-enchantments to prevent it being summoned magically.
Protego
Pronunciation: /proʊˈteɪɡoʊ/ proh-TAY-goh
Description: The Shield Charm causes minor to medium jinxes, curses, and hexes to rebound upon the attacker. It can also cause a shield to erupt from the caster's wand. This Charm was created by Trevor Poor
Suggested Etymology: Latin protego meaning "to protect".
Notes: cannot block unforgivable curses .
Incarcerous
Pronunciation: /ɪŋˈkɑrsərəs/ ing-KAR-sər-əs Description: Ties someone or something up with ropes. it is used mostly after a battle to make the people who might try to escape be tied up so they won't run Suggested Etymology: English incarcerate meaning "to imprison" or "to confine",[26] via Latin carcer meaning "prison."

Description: Causes the target to become covered in boils.
Suggested etymology: Latin furunculus originally meaning "petty thief" but later used to mean "boil" in English
this spell becomes more powerful when mixed with the bat boogey hex and can alter the affect to something unknown when used on malfoy in that combination malfloy was turned into a slimy octopus type thing

Suggested Etymology: There is none at the moment it feels as though someone has broken an egg on your head, like a flood of cold running down over you. When under the Charm, your body takes on the appearance of whatever is behind you. you feel like a human chameleon. When the spell is removed , it feels like trickling of warmth instead of cold
Aguamenti (Aguamenti Charm) Pronunciation: /ˌɑːɡwəˈmɛnti/ AH-gwə-MEN-tee Description: Produces a jet of water from the caster's wand. the amount of water used depends on the users intent and the power behind the spell and the talent the user has for this spell Suggested Etymology: The Latin word aqua (water) combined with augmentum (compare with English augment), an increase, from augere, to increase; see aug- in Indo-European roots, meaning: “increasing the water (flow)”, this combination explains the QU/GU alteration in aqua- → agua- (see agua e. g. in Portuguese and Spanish). -menti is the genitive form of the suffix -mentum

past lessons charms 1 charms lesson 2
Alohomora- From Hawaiian “Aloha” which means “hello/farewell” and Latin “mora” which means “obstacle”. This spell is used to open a locked door or window. While it will not unlock all magically sealed doors, it works well against "Colloportus." this spell is used in most non combat situations but is still a valuable spell to know
the pronunciation is ah-lor-a-mora
Cheering Charm-these charms are for beneficial use only they cause the target to become happy more relaxed and more friendlythe incantation is tuor vardamirthe pronunciation is two-R-VARD-A-mirror Confundus Charm “Confundo” is Latin for “to confuse”. Used to confuse an object or person, to make them believe what the spell caster wants them to. it is a spell that is relative to the caster's power can cause people to be very disorientatedthe pronunciation is kon-fun-do
charms lesson 1
the Engorgio charm is very usefulit is used to make things bigger to enlarge them there are many uses for this spell some include making objects bigger for demonstrations, making an item that was too small become bigger making something bigger to see the tiny details in itthere are obviously lots more uses for this charm the pronunciation is en-gorg-IO the engorgio charm is meant for objects only there is a separate spell for living things Expelliarmus spell Latin for “to expel a weapon”.This spell is used to disarm an opponent. Although a simple spell, it causes the victim's wand to fly out of his or her hand, depriving its victim of his or her primary weapon and means of defense. When used by many people on a single target in tandem, the spell is powerful enough to knock the target off of his or her feet, as was demonstrated on Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. the pronunciation of this spell isex-spell-e-ar-mus Immobulus"Immobilise" means to prevent moving. is a very useful spell can stop enemies from approaching, can stop things that are thrown at youthe pronunciation of this spell is M-MOB-U-LUSHermione used this spell in her 2nd year to stop some Cornish pixies
charms 2 charms 2 lesson 2
Reducio
Pronunciation: /rɛˈdjuːsi.oʊ/ re-DEW-see-oh
Suggested etymology redusen" Middle Eng. diminish, from "reducer" Old French. bring back to the source, from "reducere" Latin. bring, lead
this spell is used to make things smaller it is a great counter to engorgio
it is most often used to return things to their normal size after the engorgio spell has been done another use for this spell is to make things smaller so that they are lighter and take up less space great for travel
Rennervate Pronunciation: /ˈrɛnərveɪt/ REN-ər-vayt
this spell is good for bringing people out of unconsciousness when this spell is cast successfully it will emit a red light just like the stunning spell will
it is also a counter to the stunning spell not really used for combat but can wake up a friend who has been hit with the stunning spell and that gives you more people to continue the duel with
Suggested etymology from the prefix "re-" would come from Latin re-, "again" and "en-" Old French from "in-" L. cause to be + "nerves" Eng. c.1603 strength, from "nervus" L. nerve
Petrificus Totalus (Body-Bind Curse) Pronunciation: /pɛˈtrɪfɨkəs toʊˈtæləs/ pe-TRIF-i-kəs toh-TAL-əs
Description: Used to temporarily bind the victim's body in a position much like that of a soldier at attention; this spell does not restrict breathing or seeing, and the victim will usually fall to the ground. this spell has many uses from stopping people from getting away to keeping others from attacking you or a friend.
note the eyes of the target remain mobile which means the person is still aware of what is going on.
Suggested etymology English petrify meaning "to turn to stone" and English total meaning complete
charms 2 lesson 1 Serpensortia-Pronunciation: /ˌsɛrpənˈsɔrti.ə/ SUR-pən-SOR-tee-ə
Suggested etymology: Latin serpens meaning "a snake" and French Sortir meaning "come out of, to leave".
Causes a large serpent to burst from the end of the caster's wand.
this is useful mostly as a distraction in battle but if you have a fondness for snakes then you might like this spell
Silencio (Silencing Charm)
Pronunciation: /sɪˈlɛnsi.oʊ/ si-LEN-see-oh
Suggested etymology:Suggested Etymology: Italian silenzio or Spanish silencio meaning "silence". this spell is used to make things silent witches and wizards dont cast every spell with out some form of verbal command making this a useful spell one use is to cast it on some one making all verbal messages they would send to others in battle useless and it also disrupts their team work a bit
Obliviate (Memory Charm)
causes some one to forget a memory that
a good use for this spell is to use it on people who have seen things you dont want them to remeber or tell others about another use would be to cause them to forget the memory of the the spells they have learned making them unable to magically defend them selves
Suggested etymology: Latin oblivium meaning "forgetfulness"
charms 3 none yet
charms 4 none yet
charms 5 none yet
charms 6 none yet
charms 7 charms 7 lesson 2 Episkey Pronunciation: /ɛˈpɪskiː/ e-PIS-kee Description: Used to heal relatively minor injuries. When this spell is cast, the person feels their injured body part go very hot and then very cold. Suggested Etymology: Greek episkeu meaning "repair, restoration". Notes: Rowling writes in Half-Blood Prince that Harry's knowledge tells him this spell could belong to a family (or variety) of Healing Spells.
Piertotum Locomotor Pronunciation: /pɪɛrˈtoʊtəm loʊkɵˈmoʊtɔr/ peer-TOH-təm LOH-koh-MOH-tor Description: Spell used to animate statues and suits of armour to do the caster's bidding. Suggested Etymology: Latin petrus, same etymology of Italian name "Pietro" (English "Peter"), meaning "stone", Latin totus meaning "whole of", Latin loco meaning "to place", and Latin moto meaning "to move about". this spell is one of the more complex of the locomotor family of spells it takes great concentration and control
Geminio Pronunciation: /dʒɛˈmɪni.oʊ/ je-MIN-ee-oh or /ɡɛˈmɪni.oʊ/ ge-MIN-ee-oh (hard "g")}} Description: Creates a duplicate of any object upon which it is cast. As revealed by the goblin Griphook, any copies created are worthless. The duplicate lasts several hours. Magical properties, at least of a Horcrux, are not copied. Suggested Etymology: Latin gemino meaning "to double".
lesson 1 Evanesco Pronunciation: /ɛvənˈnɛskoʊ/ EV-ə-NES-koh Description: Makes the target vanish. Suggested Etymology: Latin evanesco meaning "to vanish". Notes: According to Minerva McGonagall, in Deathly Hallows, Vanished objects and organisms go "into non-being, which is to say, everything." This was McGonagall's response to the question, "Where do Vanished objects go?" from the doorknocker at Ravenclaw Tower. (makes no sense to me) (overly smart ravenclaws can probally understand it) this is a great spell to make your eneimes powerless to fight you aim this spell at their wand and they no longer have it or just aim it at them and they dont exist any more there are many uses for this spell it can be used for just about any situation where you need something gone
(Flagrante Curse)
(Flagrante Curse) Description: Causes any object affected to burn human skin when touched. Suggested Etymology: Latin flagrantia meaning "burning, blazing". this is a useful distraction if you cast it on the persons clothing or on thier wand or if you cast in combination with a multiplying spell like the gringots bank cast on bella lestrange's stuff
"Four-Point Spell" A simple spell, performed with the wand laying flat on the open palm of the caster. When the words are spoken, the wand rotates to point north.
this is great for not getting lost which use can then use for combat strategy

final info
ok its time for the final this time we are going to have a nice little battle between students to test your new knowledge of the spells we covered heres how this will work every one in this class room wil be on their own team (meaning its Aunt Slappy vs Yukina101 vs DownAzzLette vs vivacious_red) first things first determine your hp in a single post you will use the random number generator to get a number between 1 and 25 the number generated will be your hp we will have a series of rounds if your hp is dropped to 0 or less you are out for this round the more rounds we get through the more points you can earn every time you start a new round you will do the random number generator to see if you have more or less hp (same numbers as last time) a round will be over when only one person has any hp left in order to take a persons hp down you will use the spells you have learned in this class you may use any spell you learned in earlier levels (if your taking the 2nd level of charms you can use any spell we covered in both levels one and two ect ect) when attacking declare whom you are trying to hit how much hp they have left and how much damage you have done
dice system roll one(1) 20 sided dice and use them for these results 1-3 nothing happens(no damage no pts) 4-6 the spell you were attemping to cast doesnt work the way its supposed to and it hits the caster instead(1 damage to self) 7-9 the caster heals for 2hp(1pt for the casters house) 10-12you succeed in hitting your target with a weak version of a spell of your choice(1damage 1 pt for house) 13-15 you succeed in hitting you target with an average version of the spell of your choice (2 damage and 2pts for house) 16-17 you hit the target with an above average version of the spell of your choice( 5 damage 4 pts for house) 18you heal your target for 5 pts(no points) 19 you cast your spell but it hits a random target(roll a d4 where 1 =Aunt Slappy 2 =Yukina101 3= DownAzzLette 4=vivacious_red that player takes 5 damage and the casters house gets 5pts) 20 you attack twice in one turn doing double damage with your next attack(this stacks x 3) 10pts
