The LWL crowd - sold out as they usually did - awaited the next segment of the card to begin. They had already seen some amazingly technical and beautifully coreographed matches, and were lucky enough to see some of the hottest new talent take the stage in front of their very eyes.
The lights flickered off and on once, twice .. And then back to normal. There was some conversation amongst the fans as to whether that was the start of the next part of the show, or just a maintenance fault. But then it happened again; once, twice .. and back on as normal.
Then the lights cut out. The crowd set in to murmurs, wondering what the hell was going on.
...
Trumpets shot off around the arena, as some of the fans began to cheer, knowing exactly what was going on.
Something's tearing me down
And I can't help but feel it's coming from you
She's a gunshot bride with a trigger
Cries, 'I just wonder what we've gotten ourselves in to'
In a trail of fire I know we wil be free again
In the end I know we will be one
In a trail of fire I burn before you bury me ..
Set your sights on the sun!
Strobe lighting hit the arena, as a green spotlight came to life in the center of the ring. While fans were looking at the stage, some had noticed a figure standing with his head down in the middle of the ring.
Slowly, attention grew towards the man in the center of the ring.
Mind is willing, soul remains
This woman cannot be saved
From the drawn in to the fire
Mind is willing, soul remains
This woman cannot be saved
From the drawn in to the fire
Anything to bring it on home!
BRING IT ON HOME!
BRING IT ON HOME!
BRING IT ON HOME!
The strobe lighting slowly was fading away, the lights shutting out, as the green spotlight still illuminated the figure in the ring. There was anxiety within the crowd, and it could be felt from everyone sitting at ringside. They had the best view, and yet couldn't see just who exactly this enigma was.
The green spotlight stayed where it was, but the man lifted his head to face the crowd. The biggest cheers of the night shot out around the arena as the man was recognised as none other than 'The Prodigy' Nuke Fusion, a man who needs no entrance .. And yet still loves to make an epic one.
Walking over to a turnbuckle, he looked out at the crowd and raised his fist in the air, as the crowd went wild. The music had slowly faded out, and had progressed in to his 'Champion' theme of Self vs Self .. He pointed out at the crowd, shouting something at them that wasn't easily heard due to the loud music.
If I struggle a lifetime
What would my body be?
An empty shell
Upon what a demon fed!
Could be a heavy burden
To stay true to your words!
Speak up!
I wanna silence everything!
Jumping down from the turnbuckle and walking over to the opposite ones, he threw his first up in the air again, as the crowd were going absolutely ballistic. He was soaking in the atmosphere, as even a relatively 'small' crowd here were still making such a noise that was defeaning.
Pointing at the announcers, he smirked and then pointed at his shirt, which 'Nuke' on the front and 'The Prodigy' on the back. He knew that they would talk him up more if he paid attention to them, and he was doing just that .. Gaining more attention.
If I got no plan
Doesn't mean that I get what I want for free.
If I got no meaning,
Would you force me to a place where I make sense,
'Cause nothing lasts forever ..
Jumping down again, he called over to a stage hand for a microphone, and the tech guy promptly reached to the side and grabbed one before running it over to him. Taking the mic from over the top rope, he walked to the center of the ring, and pointed up as the green spotlight flickered and strobed to the beat of the song, and the crowd lapped it up.
How do I get home?
Everything revolves around me!
If I can't find myself?
It's so completely fake!
How do I get home?
Everything revolves around me!
If even you can't help?
Dark nights on my soul!
The music slowly died out and the spotlight regained it's composure, leaving Nuke in the center of the ring, a dark arena around him and a microphone in his hand; just the way he liked to make an impact.
Walking in a circle around the ring, looking out at the few faces in the crowd he could see, he slowly spoke in the microphone.
"The Prodigy has come to the Lethal Wrestling League, and you know that means legend-defining promo spots from this moment onwards."
The crowd shot off in to a cheer, knowing that they were in for a big treat tonight. Nuke being here was big news, and they were going to savour every single moment of it.
"You know this means history-making matches from this moment onwards."
Cue the second large reaction of the evening for Nuke, as most of the fans knew full-well that Nuke was one of the greatest technically-gifted superstars around today.
"You know that this means I'm going to tell the truth. The truth hurts. It's going to hurt when I remind you all that you're just a bunch of filthy pot-smoking, beer-guzzling, wife-beating inbred pieces of s**t who wouldn't even be given the chance to lick my boot clean just in case the leather suddenly gains a sexually transmitted infection!"
Wait, hold up. The crowd had just gone from cheering and being excited, to going quiet; it took them a moment to realise what exactly was just said, before they shot off a hateful surge of jeers his way.
"Oh, you get it, do you? I didn't think that your pathetically small brains would be able to comprehend the articulate words that are coming out of my mouth, let alone be able to find the way to actually get in to the arena. Or were you all walked to your seats by the stewards, just like a disabled child would be if they went to a sports event.
Hold up, I bet you even all got better parking spots than me as well. I mean, you're all retarded, right? Oh, I get it .. All of the parking spots in town are reserved for disabled people, because your entire town comes from the same s**t-covered cesspool!"
The crowd started a retaliation chant of 'Shut the ******** up! .. Shut the ******** up!' but this just got Nuke excited, knowing full well that he was getting to them.
"Oh, you don't like that, do you? It's okay, if you all leave now I still get paid more than you will in a year. Combined. Do you realise just how big of an acquisition I am for LWL? Well let me tell you, ******** the six-time Singles Champion, ten-time Tag Champion, eight-time World Champion standing in the squared circle before you .. And you know that you look upon greatness, simply because all of your girlfriend's and wives are getting wet right now thinking about what I would do to them.
Unfortunately for them, I don't hit trailer trash. I mean, I would hit trailer trash, but I wouldn't touch your sister with a barge pole; even though we all know you do worse when your parents are out for the evening drinking moonshine.
Wow, I must be hitting a nerve if you guys won't shut the ******** up. You're worse than that guy you call a World Champion around here.
What's his name again .. Rey Mysterio? No, close but I don't think that's it. John Ceno? Close again, but not close enough. Ah, the guy that should an hero, Hiro.
For those of you who don't quite follow that term, it's an internet term meaning that his pathetic little a** should go and hang itself .. Oh, and film it if possible; that way it gives people like my old friend Freakshow something to masturbate to."
The crowd weren't just hurling abuse now, but a couple of really angry fans had resorted to picking up their chairs and throwing them in to the ring, which Nuke was just able to dodge. Security had by now swarmed around ringside, and a group of guys readying themselves to jump the barricade were pushed back.
Walking over to the ropes nearest them, he sat on the middle rope and seemed to invite them in to the ring.
"That's right, if you guys want to start a riot and try to take me on, I'm willing to drop your redneck asses in the middle of this ring and then keep beating on you until you pass out. Oh, wait, that sounds like Friday nights with your wives."
The fans were not happy, and some of the security were looking at Nuke and scowling at him, not exactly ecastatic that they were having to try and subdue a riot kicking off in the arena. Turning away from the group, Fusion was ready to carry on from where he left off.
"Back on to the main subject here, the World Champion of this company. A man that runs his mouth, and yet is adored by mindless folk like you based on him pandering to you, and telling you how much he loves you and all that usual s**t.
He's the first hit on my list of targets in this place; I figured start from the top and make my way down, simply based upon the fact that I am better than each and every wrestler in this company. Hell, I'm the best wrestler in this business today; I've walked in to every major company to date and brought every single one of their 'Champions' falling to their knees in front of me. I have destroyed legends, created legacies and corrupted the uncorruptable. I have brought swift and painful justice to those who deserved it, sent vengeful retaliation the way of those who stood in front of me, and have had many a superstar bow down in front of me, and attempt to join me, to follow me.
Hiro will fall in front of my very eyes, and this company will shake beneath my dominance.
There will be no hesitation.
There will be no one safe.
There will be no one who can stand in my way.
Not even that piece of s**t you call a 'Champion', Hiro. He's always just there at the right momen-"
The lights flickered off and on once, twice .. And then back to normal. There was some conversation amongst the fans as to whether that was the start of the next part of the show, or just a maintenance fault. But then it happened again; once, twice .. and back on as normal.
