The reaper dusted her hands as she surveyed her new room, grinning from ear to ear. She’d been grinning so much today that her cheeks were hurting, but she didn’t pay it much mind. All that mattered was that she was here at the Academy now, and for the most part her room was set. Hel stretched, pausing as her stomach grumbled loudly. After all that work, it was time to get some food! She was a growing ghoul after all.

Hel poked her head out into the hall, looking down one way and then another. She liked where she had picked her room and was rather curious as to who her neighbors could be. The dorms did seem…empty, quiet, but she attributed that to the break. The valkyrie hummed thoughtfully, stepping out into the hall and closing her door while rubbing her chin. Maybe she’d just start knocking and see if someone answered their door, and then ask where she could acquire some snacks. Yes, that seemed like a good plan! Her dual gaze landed on the door directly across from hers, and still she grinned as she made her way over to it and gave it a nice, loud knock.

There was still a few days to go until Mot left for Lizzy's, and Mot felt no need to make contact with home, even though his phone had been buzzing with messages from his anxious (and surely pissed off) mother. Go home? Pff. No way. Just to do more pointless reading, staying indoors when he could be out and about.

Mot hadn't been doing much of anything that day. He'd fed his foxfire, who was now hiding somewhere in the room. A knock on the door saved Mot from his boredom. He smiled playfully, frolicking to the door and opening it wide…

…to see a familiar face! "Hel! You got accepted?" Mot asked with a grin.

She would wait for a few moments to see if there was a being in this room, and if not, she’d move onto another door! Worst case scenario, she could always start calling down each of the different halls to see if she’d get a reply. The reaper was saved from this course of action though, as she heard foot steps. Her gaze was riveted back to the door, anticipating whom she’d be laying eyes upon…

A look of pleasant surprise crossed Hel’s face as she immediately recognized who answered the door, still with his hat on, none the less! She seemed delighted that he remembered her name as well. “Mot.” She greeted back, her face stuck into a grin for the time being. She gave a firm nod of her head, placing her hands on her hips as well. “Indeed, I did!” Hel replied, almost as if it was obvious that she would be. “It’s good to see a familiar face. How have you been, friend?”

"Fantastic! Great to have a pretty face romping around this dorm for once." Mot grinned. "I've been well." He answered slipping his hands in his pockets, turning back into his room and leaving the door open for Hel to follow. "Won't be here for most of the break though. So I'll just have to hog your time while I'm here, unless you already have plans." Mot swiveled on his heel to face the ghoul again, smirking playfully. "How about it? Want to spend the day with me?"

The reaper seemed to flush with satisfaction upon being told she had a pretty face. Why yes she did, thank you very much, how wonderful of Mot to notice! It might be safe to say that the grim reaper was definitely starting to secure his spot within Hel’s list of likeables.

“That’s good to hear.” She replied, following in after the boil a bit, taking a moment to look at his room. The reaper blinked when he said he was going to be gone though, and a look of disappointment crossed her features. “Oh?” She questioned. “Are you returning home for the break?” Hel questioned curiously. When he talked about wanting to spend the day with her though, she was pleased at that. Looks like she might have found a solution to her problem as well! “Alright.” She eagerly agreed, “My time is your time today, friend.”

"Not home. I'm off to a friend’s house with a few other people." Mot would have extended the invitation, but that was not his place to do so. He couldn't help but notice her disappointment though.

Mot grinned, removing his hand from his pockets to clap them together. "Excellent! Then let's get out of this stuffy dorm and explore the school ground, shall we?" Mot made a detour to slip his boots and jacket on before returning to meet Hel. "Well then. Any preferences on a first stop?"

“Ah, I see.” The reaper replied. It made sense that students would be going all over the place. She’d honestly just stay here though, and get acquainted with the grounds and hopefully more potential friends before classes started up once more. “Well, I hope you have a good time.”

“That sounds like a wonderful idea.” Hel answered, taking the moment while he detoured to step back out into the hall. When questioned about a first stop, the reaper seemed eager to pipe up, “Would you happen to know a place to get food…snacks?” If Mot had been here a while, which she assumed he had been, hopefully he would know somewhere of the sort.

"Food? Well, the cafeteria is sill open. So that will provide an opportunity to show you key spots around the school." Mot shoo'd Hel into the hall as he closed the door, leading her out of the reaper dorms. "Speaking of…" Mot leaned his head back, getting a look at Hel's wings. "What kind of reaper did you say you were?" Were those real wings? Pretty sweet! Perhaps she was a valkyrie. They had wings as far as he knew.

"Any hobbies? Maybe there is a club around you can think about joining?"

“The cafeteria…” Hel echoed thoughtfully. Sounded like a grand hall for feasting! “Alright. Thank you kindly for showing me around.” She uttered appreciatively, getting shooed out and then keeping in step with the tall boil as they made their way out of the dorms. Once again, she seemed to swell with pride upon being questioned about her lineage. “I come from a long line of Valkyries.” She explained happily, pride apparent in her voice. “And I am the youngest valkyrie in my family, and the ninth.” The reaper smiled widely, looking up at Mot. “And you, friend?”

“Ah…I would like to join the Fitness club!” Hel replied excitedly, her eyes lighting up. “Jericho told me about it during the festival and as for hobbies...I enjoy working with metal and leather.”

Mot smiled as Hel seemed so proud of her heritage, listening as she explained where she stood in the scheme of things. "Big family, huh?" Mot chuckled. "I'm a Grim Reaper. So is my mother. My father is a Necromancer, and a recluse. I have no siblings." Mot shrugged. "Mother is very strict. I rarely saw my father. He's a nutcase." Mot cared about his parents, but he was also a teenager, and tended to scoff the rules set by the matriarch. There wasn't pride in his tone, but nor was there disdain. He loved his family, despite his avoidance of them.

"I'm in fitness club too. I've only been to it once though." Never mind the fact he signed up on accident.

Her hobby seemed unique. He certainly did not know anyone with a hobby like it. "No way! I'd love to see your work!" Genuinely, he was intrigued. What cowbell didn't want to see some leatherwork?

“Yes!” Hel agreed. She was part of a large family. When the boil went on to talk about his family, she listened with interest. When Mot spoke about being an only child, Hel couldn’t seem to grasp the idea. She couldn’t at all imagine being the only child. She looked a tad alarmed when he said his father was a nutcase, but since the boil was so…easygoing about it, it appeared as if he’d just accepted it. “My father is a grim reaper…” She mused, “And then all the ghouls in my family are valkyries…” Hel trailed off for a moment before grinning up at Mot. “I can let you borrow my sisters, all eight of them.” She jested. It’d be a crash course in having siblings, that’s for sure.

The reaper looked…a tad skeptical when Mot said he was in the fitness club, but still, she was happy to hear that. “Oh? That’s excellent! I hope I will see you there more often then.” She was about to ask him something when he commented about her hobby. She was pleased once more that he seemed rather interested in her hobby, and pointed down at the boots she was currently wearing. “This is some of my work right here.” She supplied and then asked rather curiously, “What kind of weapon do you wield?”
PostPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:48 am

Mot laughed at her offer. "Yeah, sure. Eight sisters. I could totally handle that." It was hard to tell if he actually thought he could or not.

"We'll see. I keep meaning to try it out for real, but I always find an excuse not to." Exersizing. Why bother when he had a gun to protect him?

Woah! She made those? Mot murmured something that seemed to show he was impressed as he admired the boots. She was good! This went way beyond wallets and small trinkets! "You've got some mad skills, m'lady." He mused with a smirk.

Mot puffed up considerably as she asked about his own weapon. "A Smith and Wessen pistol." He said aloud, as if everyone needed to know. "It has an attached chain I can use in case a situation arrises where my gun won't help me."

Hel just laughed along with the other reaper about handling her sisters, and left it at that.

She gave Mot a look of mock disappointment when he said he always found an excuse not to go. “Aw, that isn’t good logic, my friend.” She tsked lightly, pausing for a moment, before she made a fist and slapped it on her other hand, as if she just thought of an awesome idea. “Oh, I know! We should go together! Jericho said that the club works on a buddy system, and I do not have a comrade yet!” Obviously this way she’d have a buddy AND Mot would go more often! It was a win-win in her books.

“Why thank you.” Hel replied happily when he complimented her work. “I also make bracelets, belts and…” She tapped at her head, while looking at his hat. “Hat accessory bands.”

“Ah…a pistol…” Hel murmured, a hand coming to her chin as she stared at the reaper next to her speculatively. “You are…a long range fighter, then?” Even though his weapon apparently had a chain, Hel was…doubtful of his ability to defend himself close range, all based on his body structure.

A partner? Well, he and Junko once tried to arrange to work out together, but it never happened. Then again, having two ghouls to go with? Yes. Always nice to have options. "That sounds like a plan~ Hit em up any time." The again, maybe she would flake like Junko did? Then no sweat or blood!

….She could make all those things too?! Hat bands and belts! "Ooooh!" Mot seemed giddy. Maybe she could make stuff for him? Oh, but what could he do for her in return?! Mot seemed almost lost in his ideas.

"Long range, yes." He nodded. He certainly hated the idea of getting close. It was almost terrifying. He’d never won a close range fight. Never.

The valkyrie seemed terribly delighted and pleased when Mot agreed to be her buddy for the Fitness Club. Sadly, the boil absolutely had no idea how dedicated Hel was going to be to this club, and how serious she would be about making sure he’d go with her. Hey, he agreed, and to Hel that meant he would keep his word. “Excellent!” She cheered, grinning up at him. “When classes start, I will keep an eye out on the club, and let you know.”

Hel just beamed as the reaper seemed to become giddy about her mad leather and metal skills. Odds were if things kept going well between them, she’d start making him things without being asked to.

“Are you able to fend off an enemy if they happen to be upon you?” The ghoul questioned, a dark brow raised. It seemed as if his answer to this question would be crucial.

"Sure thing~." He agreed, waving a hand.

"Iiiii…" He rubbed his neck, obviously hesitating in answering the questions. It wasn't as if he would lie. He knew he was physically weak, and he wasn't about to pretend he was otherwise. "Well, no. Once they get me, I'm done." Little did the reaper know, he was being judged for execution.

The ghoul actually paused in their walk and her hands went to her hips as she waited. Scrutinizing the boil as she then started to tap her foot while waiting for the answer. Upon the affirmation that he would be done in if caught, the reaper frowned, still staring at him. Finally after a moment, she uttered with exasperation, “That’s no good, friend!”

One hand went back to her chin, rubbing it in thought with a troubled expression. There had to be a way to help him out! As a friend and future/potential ally in battle, she would be counting on Mot to have her back, and if he fell because someone got too close…unacceptable! Faster than someone could say ‘Amityville’ the grin was back on Hel’s dual toned face as she held out her hands in excitement at her newest idea. “I know! I will train you!”

"Train me? No no no." Mot waved his hands in denial. "I'm a lost cause, I assure you." The boil seemed almost reluctant to accept the help. He actually was not opposed to being helped by a ghoul, more so that he felt the task was something he could not accomplish. Then again, she did seem very very small. What could she possibly do for him? "You would be wasting your time, but you're free to try, I suppose." He would go along with it, if she wanted, but he was certain she would give up soon enough.

A confused look passed on Hel’s face as Mot seemed to reject her offer. She looked troubled, as her hands went back to rest on her hips and she frowned once more. “Mot! You need to think more highly of yourself.” She reprimanded. “I don’t think you’re a lost cause or a time waster.” She gave a firm nod of her head.

“If we were in battle, I’d have no problem covering you, but.” She paused. “If you are taken out by an enemy, it means I’d have to turn my back to other potential enemies to come to your aid…” The reaper trailed off, sounding as if that would never happen because she wouldn’t let it, but…just in case. “At the very least, I think you should be able to throw off an attacker, so that you can gain distance and resume your specialty.”

Mot was starting to get an idea of Hel's thought process. She was a born warrior, it seemed. He stared at her as she went on abbot her thoughts on the matter. He hummed in thought, rubbing his chin. Her last bit of advice seemed… plausible. He was no warrior, but the power to create an opening to run was… logical. "Well, you have a good point." Mot said finally. "You win~." He'd just have to go along with it, it seemed.

He resumed their journey to find Hel a snack, getting closer to the cafeteria. "Once we get you some food, we'll stop by the fitness room to get you signed up at least."

The reaper was positively beaming when Mot consented. It was the valkyrie now who clapped her hands together in excitement as she grinned up at him. “You will come out of this a better warrior, I promise!” Once she had her mind set to it, she would go through with it, as Mot was slowly but surely finding out. When the other reaper resumed walking, she fell back into step with him. “That’s excellent, and a good plan too!”

There was a pep in her step now as she walked along with him. “Would you like to start a bit later?”

A warrior? Him? Mot was doubtful, but chuckled and nodded regardless. It was not as if he had never fought before, but he certainly never won anything. He was physically incapable of defending himself, though very willing to throw himself in danger for those in need.

"Hm? A bit later for what?" Did he miss something?

“We can start with basics later, if you would like.” Hel quipped helpfully, eager to start laying ground work for Mot to build upon. “I would like to start teaching you how to toss an opponent!” The reaper temporarily got caught up in thinking about how to start him off, before she remembered that he was leaving soon to go to his friend’s house for the break.

“Oh…! But, if you would like to wait until you return, that’s alright.”

Woah! Was he going to have to start already? But then again, he didn't want to tell her no. He wasn't scared of some little ghoul tossing him about! What could she possibly do to him? He was TALLER!

"No no~ You seem passionate about this training business. I'm sure I can survive a round or two with you before my trip."

Famous last words.

"But first, here we are~." The cafeteria.

Mot really had no idea what he was in for, but regardless, he certainly had just made the ghoul’s day. She was grinning from ear to ear once more as she rubbed her hands together. “Wonderful! We can start right after I gather some items from the cafeteria!” When the boil oh so graciously showed her the toted mess hall, the reaper was further pleased. There she purchased a few items to snack on, and even got something for the reaper boil, despite any objections he may have had to it.

Once that was finished, the valkyrie tucked the items into her apron pockets for now, and then scanned the area around them. “…Ah ha!” She pointed at a nearby stretch of just grass. “What do you think, friend?”

Mot seemed hesitant, but complied with Hel's offer of snacks. It went untouched, pocketed for the time being. He was not keen on eating.

"Looks fine to me~ Lead on." What a ghoul wants is what a ghoul gets. That was Mot's motto. "You're certainly lively." He said with a smile.
Mot followed along until they were outside.

The grim reaper’s reluctance to eat did not go unnoticed, but Hel left the subject alone for right now. She just wanted to tackle one subject at a time, and the subject for today would be ground work! She gave a laugh as he called her lively, leading him to the center of the small field. “One must stay on their toes at my home.” She replied, stopping in the field and turning around to face him.

The reaper rolled up the sleeves on her tunic, humming lightly to herself as she did so, before placing her hands on her hips. “Are you ready, Mot?”

That sounded nothing like his own upbringing, where staying on his toes meant trying not to get caught doing what he ought not to. Like sneaking out, or doing anything other than studying.

He watched as she rolled up her sleeves, deciding to ditch his coat while she did so. Not for the sake of the coat, but for the sake of the food within it. He may hate eating, but he certainly wasn't about to waste it either. "Yep, yep. Ready."

Sure you were, Mot…

Hel rocked lightly on her heels, humming a bit more as she decided on what she wanted to do. Maybe explain to him the basics first? Maybe she should show him this technique in action first? Yeah…that sounded like a good idea! The reaper seemed amused as she stopped rocking, her hands still on her hips.

“Come at me then, friend! Don’t hold back.”

Just… attack?

It was then Mot realized how scared he was of physical combat. Attacking anyone without cause was hard, let alone a ghoul. He hesitated, looking around and fidgeting eight his hands. What was he supposed to do? "Um.. right, sure.." His mouth twisted a bit, completely lost. The only thing involving close combat he knew of was dancing, and that was not combat.

What if he just.. attempted to grab hold of her? Yeah, that sounded harmless enough. Just stop her from moving, right?

With that in mind, he pushed his hat further onto his head, and charged at the ghoul, intending to keep her in a hold of some sort.

Hel blinked as Mot seemed to hesitate, not at all use to seeing this kind of behavior. Whenever she tossed out the words ‘come at me’ it wasn’t unusual for two to four of her sisters to suddenly rush her with no hesitation. “It will be alright friend.” She reassured cheerfully, “This is just training!” The reaper kept her hands on her hips and seemed excited when Mot finally started to charge at her.

The boil’s lack of combat experience would easily be his downfall though, as Hel’s hands snapped out to grab onto one of his wrists. The ghoul twisted around, now leaning forward to pull the boil over her back.

Mot lost the will for a follow through the moment his wrist was grabbed. His first reaction was to pull away to run, but he yelped as Hel easily twisted it, pushing and pulling the boil like a tall rag doll, effectively flipping the reaper over her shoulder.

What? What just happened? Mot laid on his back, wide eyed and shocked.
He was just flipped by a short and tiny ghoul.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2011 10:03 am

Sadly, Mot couldn’t back out as Hel went through the motions, swiftly and easily pulling the tall boil over her back and onto the grass below them. She still held onto his wrist as she looked down at him, and gave a short laugh before grinning now. “Just think friend, your enemies will have the same look when you flip them!”

One hand stayed on his wrist while the other moved to grasp his upper arm, and as if he truly was just a rag doll, the reaper helped to pull him to his feet with ease. Once he was back up, she reached out to brush some grass off of his shirt, and made sure he was steady before releasing him, her hands going back to her hips. “Are you ready to learn the basics now?”

'Y-YEAH…sure.. I'll flip them like pancakes.." Mot repaid with uncertainty, allowing himself to be pulled to his feet with her aid. He was dumbfounded, as he tried his best to stay standing steady. Boy, he was not prepared for this!

"Yes. Basics. Sounds like a good plan." Mot said, sounding as if he was trying to sound a little more masculine than normal. His pride as a man was at stake!

“You will!” Hel agreed with the utmost enthusiasm. “I will make sure you will be able to.” It looked like it was becoming a personal mission to the valkyrie, one she wasn’t going to take lightly. Once the boil was steady, she started to go over the basics with him. “Obviously in battle, the enemy will try to grab you. The point is to be able to predict these movements, and counteract them.”

While explaining, her hands seemed to make motions at her wrists and throat, but she was also just one of those who liked to express her words with her hands as well. “Odds are I believe, they will most likely go for your hands and wrists first, so that they can disarm you.”

Mot watched as Hel explained in an animated way the point of the training, his hand slipping into his pockets instinctively. "Okay, so let's say they go for my wrists. What do I do?" It was obvious from the first attempt that he knew nothing about defending himself or even counterattacking.

Surprisingly, he seemed willing to learn, though it was doubtful he realized it would take more than one lesson or demonstration.

“There are many options available to you.” Hel elaborated, “But we’ll just cover a few scenarios, and hopefully as you learn more, you’ll be able to apply the knowledge to whatever situation you are in!” The ghoul held one of her hands out to him. “But your hands need to come out of your pockets, friend.” She teased. “Grab my wrist.” The reaper paused for a moment.

“I’m not going to throw you to the ground.” Hel promised, grinning.

Mot smirked, removing his hands from his pockets. "You got it, boss lady." He said with a cheeky smile.

The smile faltered when given the order to grab her wrist, though it returned as a grin when she promised not to toss him again. "Uh huh." He chuckled, grabbing the ghoul's wrist.

“No really, I promise. I will give you a fair warning next time.” She assured, and then went on to explain to the boil how to throw an enemy off. Her other hand lightly swung around, and she tapped his wrist with her palm, informing that this would hopefully jar the opponent, and then he was to grab their wrist and free his own.

The ghoul then took a hold of his wrist, gently freeing her wrist from his grasp and spun on her heel so that her back was facing him, and his arm was over her shoulder. “Here, you would then lean and pull your opponent over your back!” A foot came up to lightly tap his shin. “Sometimes it even helps when you’re pulling an opponent forward, to also be pushing them up with your foot.”

Mot paid as much attention to the details as he could, complying with the way Hel decided to move him about. If it meant being able to flee from opponents and avoid being beat up, he was definitely interested.

Were Mot not used to being in close proximity to ghouls from dancing, Hel's up close and personal teaching might have had him flustered. "Duely noted." He replied, giving a stiff nod of his head.
…Okay, so maybe a little flustered.
He wiggled his wrist in an attempt to get free.

Any discomfort the reaper may have been feeling went unnoticed for now, though when he wriggled his wrist, the ghoul released him. She then went on to verbally walk him through the steps again energetically, motioning with her own hands once more. “So friend, are you ready to give it a go?” She questioned.

Obviously she meant he was to try and flip her now. After all, you could hear it all day, but one really learned when they put the knowledge to actual use!

Flip Hel!? Mot was very uncomfortable flipping a ghoul, no matter how capable of defending themselves they were. Mot's mouth twisted again, shifting where he stood. "Iiiii…. not really." Mot admitted, smiling sheepishly while rubbing his neck. "I'm sure you are plenty capable of taking a hit, but I don't feel right flipping a ghoul around." Did… this mean he failed training?

Hel frowned, as Mot was refusing to give it a go. “But, how am I suppose to know that you grasp what I’ve been teaching you if you don’t put it into action?” Hel needed to see if she was teaching him well or not, and she obviously couldn’t do that if he wasn’t going to try! The reaper shifted a bit, her hands on her hips as she stared up at the boil with an almost pleading look.

She was not above trying to persuade him.

Mot wrung his hands together, staring back at Hel with an unseen gaze. She had a point, and she seemed ready, but this went against his pledge as a gentlemen!

….siiiiigh.

"Okay." Mot relented, shifting his shoulders. "Come at me." He would try to flip her once she attacked him!

Instantly the frown was gone from Hel’s face as the reaper consented. “Wonderful!” She cheered, stretching briefly before shifting into a slight crouch. She paused for a moment, staring the boil down with a smirk before charging at him. Luckily for Mot though, she wasn’t going at full steam, as she reached out to grasp his wrist.

Now was a moment of truth!

Aaaaah here she comes! Mot actually felt a little intimidated, but mostly? This was starting to feel like fun! Like playing as a kid, from what little playing he got to do as a kid. Yeah! A game! This was a---

--and then he wimped out.

"Aaaah waitwaitwait!" Mot backed away waving his hands. Woah, okay, so apparently this was a big transition from gentlemen to rough houser. His hands stayed extend outward, his posture slouching. "Uuuuuh…"

And the moment of truth failed her.

Hel’s eyes widened as Mot suddenly cried for her to wait and backed away as well. The reaper stumbled a bit as she stopped charging him, her wings flapping a bit to help pull her back and correct her balance. She blinked as she righted her self, looking at Mot with concern. “Uh…what’s wrong, friend?”

A dark hand came out to pat his shoulder reassuringly.

Mot slumped a bit. Hel was concerned, and he didn't mean to concern her. "I can't do it. I can't attack a ghoul." He sighed and scratched his cheek, his posture relaxing a bit, and standing straighter now. "Sorry, it's not an easy transition to switch out of." It was like telling a nun to sin!

"If you asked me to do this to a boil, I think I might be okay." Maybe.

“But Mot, what if your enemy happens to be a ghoul?” She pointed out, frowning softly now. “Whether you’re polite or not won’t matter in battle.” The reaper paused, thinking. “But…right now we’re not in battle.” Obviously. “So…why not think of it as a game?” She trailed off, doing some more thinking. “How about…we…make a bet?” The ghoul was trying to lure him once more.

She was grinning now. Hel liked competitions.

This advice was sound. Mot's lack of actual battle experience evident in his naive principles. If he had to attack a ghoul in battle? He'd fall. No doubt.

"A bet?" Mot parroted, staring down at Hel. His curiosity was peaked. How would a bet help him? But also, bet was a magic word in Mot's vocabulary.

Hook, line, and sinker! It seemed like she was onto something.

“Yes, a bet.” She reaffirmed, now rubbing her hands together. “I will come at you once more.” Hel started, “If you can flip me…I will do whatever you ask for one day when you return from your trip, granted that it doesn’t get me expelled, friend.” Of course there would be a consequence for Mot failing to go through with this. “But if I come at you, and you back out, then I win, and for a day upon your return…” She trailed off for a moment, wondering what she could do to possibly motivate Mot further, staring at him before a light bulb seemed to go off.

“You must hand over your hat to me, for one day.” She was grinning now. The boil just cherished that hat so much; it hopefully would be a good motivation.

The hat. That was… risky…

And unfortunately for Mot, he loved risk.

"You're on." He said after a moment. He had no idea what he would get the ghoul to do for him after his return, but he had lots of time to think about it. Heck, he still had to think of what Lizzy was going to do for him, since she owed him a favour as well.

Mot sighed in an exasperated manner, tilting his head back and forth and stepping back some paces. "Oh…..ok…B-bring it on." He crouched, ready…ish.

The valkyrie rocked on her heels as she waited for a response, grinning widely as he accepted her bet without hesitation. “Alright then.” She hummed; stepping back a bit as well as she crouched, staring him down for a long moment. “Be warned, friend, I’m going to come at you with more intent.” Because this was a competition, and while she wanted Mot to succeed, she didn’t want to lose either.

She waited a few more moments before she lunged at him, hands ready to grasp his wrist.

"Huh?" More intent? There was more intent to be given? Mot faltered his resolve for a moment until the valkyrie charged. He crouched, shuffling back a bit as she got closer.

No no no no no…

Once she had his wrist, the bet and the fate of his hat flashed in his mind. He used the move he was taught on her, grabbing her wrist and turning to have his back face hers. It was at that point he lost his nerve, releasing her and backing away, completely forgetting about the hat.

….crap. He didn't flip her.

Hel didn’t stop as he started shuffling back, and she was almost thinking he was going to go through with flipping her when his back turned to her, but he lost his nerve once more. When he released her, the ghoul let go of him as well, pausing as she watched him back away. “Uh…” The reaper blinked as she stared at him, frowning lightly once more before straightening and rubbing her chin. Time to look at the bright side!

“…I think this was good for a first day, friend.” She commented, smiling a bit now. She honestly didn’t think he’d master it all today, and this would probably take some time, which was alright. They’d just have to keep at it, that’s all! “I will claim your hat for a day though, upon your return.” She happily commented, grinning.

Good. Right. Fantastic. Mot wasn't so sure.

"Right." He said with a grimace. His hat! Not the hat! He would have to train himself to be able survive a day without it! He supposed there was not much chance he could weasel out of it.

With a defeated sigh, he slumped over, grabbing his coat and dragging it behind him. "C'moooon. Let's get you signed up for the club." His steps were long, dragging his feet in the grass as he moved.

Hel watched as the reaper seemed defeated, grabbing and dragging his coat, causing her to frown once more. “Aw, it’s alright friend, really!” She tried to reassure once more. She didn’t want to see him sad! The valkyrie watched him move forward a bit, before she suddenly took off, jaunting past him and making a wide arc before she was charging at him once more.

If the reaper didn’t dodge out of the way or possibly try to flip her, Hel leaned a bit as she barreled into the boil, wrapping her arms around his knees she as swept him off his feet and suddenly over her shoulder, carrying him like a sack of rice.

Defeated. Losing his hat in the future for a day. Beat by a ghoul. The boil's pride as a man was dwindling, eroding into a puddle of self pity.

He barely saw it coming.

One minute he was walking, the next he had been bowled into with a loud grunt exiting the boil's lungs, his balance taken off its centre and flipped onto the ghoul's shoulder. Mot's eyes were wide beneath the shadow of his hat, staring down at the ground, being carried by someone nearly half his height. Much like a sack of rice. A very baffled sack of rice.

"Wh-bu-..Hel!?"

Her arms locked around his legs, and the reaper then did a spin with him upon her shoulder, laughing loudly. She came to a stop, peering over her shoulder at the baffled sack of rice. “Please cheer up, Mot! It will get better, I promise!” Or her name wasn’t Hel Brynhildr. It would be one of her life goals now to turn this cowboil into a force to be reckoned with, especially at close distance!

“Besides, at the pace you were going, we would never get there in time!” The ghoul jested, looking around. “Which way, friend?” Yes, she was going to carry him there.

Cheer up? This was Hel's way of cheering him up. Honestly? He found it a little funny, now that he thought about it. Mot laughed, resigning to his fate as a sack of rice. He sighed, reaching and arm over for her to see. "That-a-way~!" He bellowed, pretending like he totally meant to be riding on a ghoul's shoulder. "A few halls down is the fitness room. A signup sheet is on the door, I believe."

Once the reaper started to laugh, the ghoul beamed. That was what she wanted to see and hear! Her head snapped in the directed that he pointed, and soon she was taking long strides to get where he pointed. “Understood!” She called out, carrying him the entire way there with ease. Once she arrived at the fitness room, Hel looked over the sheet before reaching out for the pen. One arm stayed locked around Mot’s legs as she jotted her name down on the sheet, looking rather pleased with herself.

“Excellent!” She cheered, now stepping away from the fitness room and pausing, peering over her shoulder once more. “Where to now, friend?”

Mot was in disbelief that he was carried the whole way. This was like double punishment for flaking out, wasn't it?

Next? Well, where else in the school did he think Hel needed to see? "Oh! Outside. I'll show you the other dorms." Mot patted her other shoulder. "This way. We'll go to the demon dorms. Riley lives their. She is the Captain of the Fitness Club."

“Alright!” Hel replied, carrying the reaper out of the building and along the paths leading to the other dorms once more. Luckily, she was careful enough when going through a door to not smack the boil’s head against the frame. The valkyrie carted him off to where he directed.

“Oh, I see!” This was very good to know indeed! Riley had made a very big impression on her, so she was happy to know where the Captain lived. “Is…Lizzy here, too?” She questioned curiously. It seemed like Lizzy would belong in the demon dorms, but she wasn’t entirely sure.

Mot always flinched when they passed through a door. But always in vain, as Hel was perfectly able to avoid smacking the boil around. "She is, yes. Also Charlie, though I am not sure if you have met him.." Or would even want to. Bratty demon!

Mot pondered any other demons he knew, though none came to mind. At one point he thought Jericho was a demon, but that was a misunderstanding. Turned out dragons were monsters. What did Mot know about other races anyway? Not much. He grew up around nothing but Reapers for the most part.

Hel’s brow furrowed as she went through all the face she had met during the festival, but she couldn’t attach the name Charlie to any of them. Hmmm. Well there was that one student in a mascot costume, but she never caught that student’s name. “I don’t believe I have.” Hel replied, walking the path to the demon dorms and shifting her shoulder a bit so that the boil rested more comfortably upon it.

“Do you…know the whereabouts of…” She trailed off for a moment, recalling names. “Levi…oh! Mac is a reaper as well, which room is he in?” There was someone else too… “The boil….who lost his loincloth as well?” He seemed like a good boil, and a good warrior to boot!

"Levi, she is in the Monster dorms." Of course she would like Levi. Great. Just great. Two ghouls who could kick his a** getting to know each other! "Mac lives next door to me." Yes, go bug Mac! Perhaps Mot would not have to be picked on fully after all?

"Aaaaah.. that would be Petro.." Mot said hesitantly. "Also Monster dorms, along with Jericho. I have no idea which ones though. That is an area I am unfamiliar with."

A mental note was made of all the places each of the students she had met were located. After Mot had answered all of her questions, the reaper grinned. “You are a very good tour guide, friend.” She complimented, patting one of his calves. Just even knowing the general location of the students was great in her opinion!

“Oh!” There was something else she wanted to ask him as well. “Mot…did you go to…prom?” She had heard all about it from Ash at her campaign booth, now she wanted another student’s view on it.

The bag of rice---er, Mot, chuckled upon being called a good tour guide. He actually felt semi useful knowing the general location of other students.

"Hm? Yes, I did." He answered back. Why did Hel want to know about prom, anyway?

“I heard about this…event, from a ghoul running for vice president.” The reaper added, musing. “I just wanted to know more about it from a friend who went.” She was rather curious about it! Every student seemed to be talking about it, and where she came from they didn’t have events like that. Sure they had celebrations and feasts, but not the way Ash was describing it.

After getting a good look at the other dorms, the ghoul started to mosey on back to the reaper dorms, though she wasn’t in a hurry as she toted her rice sack—er, her friend, Mot, around.

Mot smirked, shrugging a bit and just letting himself get toted around. "It's a lot of fun. There is dancing, contests, food. We all have tables to sit at. I had an amazing time, and I was able to really get close to students I otherwise did not know so well yet." He spoke with endearment. Prom had been a big thing for him. A lot happened, and quite a bit of spotlight had been thrust upon him, but it was a memorable experience for the reaper.

Hel actually paused on their way back to the reaper dorms, so that she could peer over her shoulder to look at Mot as he spoke. She seemed very enthralled with his description of the event. What she really like was that he said he got close to other students as well. “Do you think there will be another one?” She questioned hopefully.

Mot smiled warmly. "I certainly hope so!" He grinned, turning his head to see as much of Hel's face as he could from his position.

Oh hey! They were back. He'd certainly never toured the school from this… angle. "I've heard there are a lot of events at school."

“Me too.” Hel agreed, grinning back at him before she resumed walking. She carried the boil all the way back to their hall, stopping in front of Mot’s door. “As have I! At the election booths, many students talked about having even more events as well.” The valkyrie then kneeled, and angled the boil so that his feet were touching the ground now. She helped to ease him off of her shoulder, and then straightened, her arms still out to help keep him standing if need be.

After Mot was righted, the reaper then happily flopped against the wall near his door and slid down until she was seated on the floor. Hel fished around in her apron pockets until she pulled out a cookie she got from the cafeteria. “What are your goals after school, friend?” She questioned after a moment.

Mot slide off of Hel's shoulder, glad to be back standing with his own power. He watched as the ghoul slid down onto the floor, making herself comfortable. He shrugged, and took a spot beside her, setting his jacket down in front of him.

He chose to ignore the food he had been given.

"Plans? Well, I hope to be a full fledged Grim Reaper by the end of it all. I want to be top of my class. The best there is."

Hel unwrapped the cookie from its covering, and paused as she looked over at the reaper as he sat down next to her and spoke of his plans. The reaper grinned in approval of his goals. “I think that is very admirable, friend.” She liked high ambitions like that, but at the same time, she knew it would take a lot of work to get there, and she was more than willing to help him out.

The ghoul paused for a moment, still not eating her cookie yet, as she pointed at Mot’s jacket since his snack was in there. “We burned some energy today, are you not hungry?”

Mot stared at the pointed hand, then his gaze followed toward the jacket. "Um… not really." Mot shifted in place, pushing the coat away with his foot. Ugh, he just was not a fan of eating. He could, if he had to. Heck, he had a whole bite of a cupcake at Floresceteval! Progress?

"I'll eat later."

Hel might have let the subject drop if it wasn’t for how thin Mot was. She had flipped him and carried him around with ease, so the whole ‘not hungry’ thing was something that apparently occurred often. The ghoul frowned lightly, concerned once more. “Ah…but friend, if you don’t eat well, it will affect your battle performance, too! You need energy.”

She broke off a bit of her cookie and offered it to the boil.

Boy oh boy, Hel was certainly persistent. Mot frowned, groaning like a kid being forced to eat his broccoli. "Fffiiiine." Mot conceded, taking the offered bit of cookie. He took a small bite of it, his posture as mature as his attitude.

"…it's pretty good, actually."

The reaper laughed as Mot groaned, much like a child. “I think full fledged grim reapers know how to take care of their bodies.” She teased lightly. “You still have much to learn.” Though she seemed pretty delighted when he ate what she offered him, and soon Mot found the rest of the cookie in front of his face.

“Here, I want you to have it.”

Well, Hel certainly had a point. If there was one thing Mot was poor at, it was properly caring for himself.

Mot paused as he was barely finished the small piece he was given, having been offered the rest of the treat. "Really?" He asked in an exasperated tone. Mot groaned, popping the bit he had into his out and chewing for a long time. He glared and undone glare at the offered piece.

He swallowed and sighed. "I'm full."

The valkyrie was not convinced and she was not going to leave it at this either. She was a rather stubborn ghoul, and right now she wanted Mot to finish the cookie, so she would try her hardest to make it so. Hel waved the cookie a bit, frowning. “Please?” She asked as she peered up at him. This would be step one in the pursuit of convincing Mot to down the rest of the cookie.

She was not above using pleading tactics on him. It got her by many times with eight older sisters.

A cute ghoul was frowning, and asking him please?

.. .

Siiigh.

"….F-fine.." Mot muttered, taking the treat gingerly. A ghoul wanted him to do something, so there was little for him to go on other than comply. He stared down at the confection, a grimace on his face. "If I get sick, I am blaming you." He smirked in his usual raspy tone before taking a bite.

A happy grin spread across the ghoul’s face as he complied, watching as he took the cookie from her. The reaper clasped her hands as she grinned up at him. “Thank you!” It was obvious this simple gesture pleased her greatly, while also reaffirming that if she pleaded more in the future, she was likely to get her way. “If you get sick?” She echoed. “I doubt that friend. I think your stomach will cling to that cookie for dear death.”

Her tone had a teasing edge to it and she stared at him intently as he ate.

Mot chuckled. Yes, he supposed his refusal to eat was not best for his body.

Mot paused mid chew as he caught the female reaper staring. Staring at him as he attempted to eat. Mot stared back… with an unseen gaze, chewing very slowly. He finally swallowed his mouthful, but a few bites remained of the treat. He sighed begrudgingly, slouching and sliding against the wall until he was practically laying down.
"That enough?"

All this over a cookie?

Hel didn’t seem discouraged when Mot stared back at her, if anything it made her just stare more. She watched as he slid down the wall, and placed a hand down on the floor as she leaned over him a bit, peering down at the boil now. “You’re almost done, friend, you can do it!” She cheered him on, clearly displaying that she wanted him to finish the cookie. “Do not let the cookie defeat you!”

He was so close to finishing it!

So apparently, this was a battle. Fine. Mot furrowed his unseen brows, staring at the cookie that was left. He might as well be a man and get rid of the damned thing!

Mot stuffed the rest of the cookie in hi mouth, crossing his arms and chewing on the confection with gusto, swallowed, and sighed in triumph. "There!" Mot slid back up into a sitting position. "I ate. Happy?"

As Mot slid back into a sitting position after heroically banishing the cookie to the depths of his stomach, he was greeted by clapping from Hel. “I am!” She laughed, then reaching out to pat his shoulder. “You did a very good deed, I am proud of you.” The reaper uttered in an honest tone. “When I unpack my pots and pans, I will start cooking some recipes passed down from my great-grandmummy! Quite a few hardy stews! I will share them with you, friend.”

This she was also rather serious and excited about.

Mot smirked lightly at the praise he received. He supposed he'd take it.

Oh no. More food? Mot's smile faltered. H could not eat a real meal! No way. But oh man.. she seemed so happy about it. It was even a proud recipe tradition of some sorts. Mot chuckled lightly, rubbing his neck. "R-right… How generous of you.."

He may have to lay low after coming back to school...

The ghoul currently seemed oblivious to any signs of discomfort from her new reaper friend about her….sharing ideals. “Think nothing of it!” She chimed, smiling widely. “It pleases me to share with a friend!” She temporarily got caught up in imagining herself making some of the stew in the little kitchenette that came with her dorm room, and even imagined sharing with other friends as well.

It was a nice thought.

Did Hel look like she was… daydreaming. Mot felt as though he was in danger.

"A-anyway." Mot interrupted, patting her shoulder and pushing himself to stand. "Don't be in too big of a hurry to feed me." Please? Mot's stomach was already up in arms about the amount he had just consumed. How in Hell did the boil manage to replenish enough Fear to get through a day anyway?

The reaper was pulled from her pleasant thoughts as she felt a pat on her shoulder and looked up as Mot pushed himself up to stand. She followed suit, standing as well and placing her hands on her hips. “Of course not!” She seemed to relent, before adding, “You’re going on a trip tomorrow, but there will be plenty for you when you return!”

She beamed at him then.

"Right." Mot was not about to lie and say he was looking forward to it. The mere thought of it made him queazy. Stew sounded too… hearty. Too much for the thin reaper to handle. He could barely handle the entire cookie he had eaten. It at least didn't have much of a smell to it.

He scratched his cheek, smiling wearily. "Well, I have much to pack." A lie. "I'm so glad you live so close, Hel. I'm happy you've been enrolled." Not a lie.

“Ah, I understand.” Hel murmured, seemingly a bit disappointed now that it seemed their day was drawing to a close since he ‘had to pack’. The reaper didn’t have any reason to not believe him, so would let him get to it. She smiled though when he said he was happy that she was enrolled. “Why thank you, friend! I am very glad as well…I…” The reaper paused here, almost seeming awkward for a brief moment before grinning.

“I’m happy I was able to get this room and see you again.” She gave a small nod of her head. “…Have a good journey, Mot.”

Oh, Hel seemed slightly disappointed. But the ghoul was certainly good at picking herself up, though. "I hope so, too. I'll let you know the moment I am back." Mot smirked, tipping his hat to the lady. "See you in a few weeks. Have a good night." Mot gave a bow full of flourish before retreating to his room with his jacket.

No packing to be done, but the Reaper did busy himself otherwise. The food Hel had gotten him was stuffed into the empty mini fridge, and the boil rested on his bed to do some reading. On fitness. In his mind, that was training.

“Please do! Thank you for your time today, friend.” She replied gratefully. She gave a wave in response to his bow, watching him go before spinning on her heel and going back to her room. There were just a few more things to unpack, and the reaper was feeling rather anxious to get to work on a little secret something.

But first, she’d need to get everything out of the boxes! Thus she spent the rest of her evening doing just that, singing to herself.
