 He sighed heavily his heart sinking into dispare. She was still missing. Well avoiding him it seemed. Briallan had had three foals of her own and apparently the one mare he was looking for had stopped in to see them when he was away looking for hr. Had he just stayed and gone to see the new additions to the herd he'd have seen her. Now.. he was sure Ali was out of his grasps but it wasn't going to stop him from looking for her.

 Gunkan was walking back home, a small bag filled with some berries. He knew that Nori and the kids had went to collect seafood--he'd been a bit nervous about that considering Nigiri and Nori were both very clumsy. But little Oni was more than capable to watch for them, so he left them to their little adventure. Next time, it would be his turn to teach the small ones how to gather berries. He was looking forward to it, they were at the neat stage of wanting to devour all the information they could.

He'd been searching so long now with nothing to show of her, not even a feather.. He was starting to look bedraggled and warn. He could hardly taste food, sleep was plagued by visions of his dear friend. Sighing heavily, the normally light spirited and goofy stallion was starting on the verge of depression. Had his brief interlude with Masika that resulted in foals some how... changed her view of him? Of course.. that had to be it.. She viewed him as a lesser stallion now.. some one who just went around nilly willy laying with mares.
Kicking a stone, he stumbled and fell to his knees. His lack of sleep was really starting to play with his mind. "Ali.. I'm sorry Forgive me... You left.. I never got to tell you that things.. they didn't work out between their mother and I..." He mumbled as he slipped into a tormented sleep filled with dreams of her. Always of her.. tormenting and with that ok.. that sad look that said she was disappointed in him..

Gunkan was going busily along, when he saw a shaggy heap of something. Approaching slowly, cautiously--he saw that it was in fact a soquili. A very large on at that. Maybe he was a skinwalker? Or maybe he was injured?
Getting closer, he saw that it was not a skinwalker but someone who was mumbling in sleep or fever. He came into the clearing, but still a few feet away for safety. "Are you...okay?" He said it loudly to awake the other stallion.

His tormented dreams snapped to a halt at the voice of another. "Ali?" His head raised and he looked around. A frown formed on his sunken, saddened face when he realized it was just another stallion. "I'm... fine" He sighed finally and hauled himself to his feet stumbling slightly. His voice was deep, thick like fur or molasses and warm, gentle now tinged with sorrow.

"You don't seem okay," Gunkan spoke his in low, easy voice. He knew that he should leave the stallion to whatever grief he was feeling, but he couldn't--it wasn't who he was. "Is there something I can do? Are you hurt? Or sick? Have you eaten?"

He shook his shaggy mane allowing the forelock to fall over his sunken in looking eyes. " Not unless you could some how magic the individual I've been searching for here.. other wise.. I suppose not. I Eat.. not that I taste it.. And I'm not sick... just rundown." He managed a slight goofy grin.

Gunkan sighed, "I would if I could...It's horrible to be away from someone you really want to be close to." He hated even being away this long from Nori. He coudln't imagine how long this male had been away from his love. "Can you not find that someone?"

"My friend... she has been lost since my daughters were foals... Too long... my worries..... " He sighed heavily. To him.. it was just an obsessive worry for a dear friend. He was blind as to what this looked like to any others.

Gunkan spoke softly, not asking but stating it. "You love her. Have you told her? Maybe she feels the same, but you won't know till you say it." He felt for this stallion, what would he have done if he hadn't told Nori that he loved him?

His eyes widened in alarm under his forelock. How could he have missed this? Was it her absence that made his heart grow fonder?. He stumbled slightly. "Love? Of course.... I love her.." He spoke in a dazed tone more to himself than to the other. It was coming clear to him.. her actions.. had she loved him as well? That last night he saw her.. such a fool.. had she been coming to pour her heart out to him only to have her hopes dashed? Such the fool he'd been.. If this was the case.. how.. how could she ever forgive him?

A heavy sigh escaped him. "I fear.. it very well might be too late.." He glanced to the sky for long drawn out moment, lost in his thoughts. Finally, he turned his gaze back to the other stallion. "I haven't seen her since my daughters were fillies... I'm Shilo by the way."

He nodded with a small sigh. "It won't stop my search for her no matter what. Even if she doesn't she has to know how I feel... It just wouldn't be right to not tell her now."
