Talia had spent far too much time in that dance studio. As she quietly slipped out the door, she hoped she would never have to come back, at least not any time soon. The meeting with Andrea had been incredibly awkward, and she didn't want to embarrass herself further.

As she walked out, the neon sign that said "DANCE STUDIO" began to flicker and turn off. Talia checked her cell phone. Almost 10 'o clock. She was definitely getting in trouble for this one. With a sigh, she started heading towards her car, which was parked almost two blocks away. Her heels clacked noisily against the sidewalk, and she almost wished she had worn her Toms, but that was out of the question. Fashion came with a price it seemed.

A shadow on the rooftop distracted her though. She was quickly learning that rooftop shadows were often not just maintenance workers come to work on faulty chimneys. They were usually distinctly chaotic.

Negaverse.

Talia sighed. It seemed her life was quickly filling with negaverse activity. She wasn't sure how she felt about this. Talia scooted down an alleyway and henshined up, feeling the familiar rush of distinctly Draconis power. Now this was something she could get used to. She wished everyone could just henshin up, feel how good it felt to be ... powerful?

She had a purpose though, right. With a single leap, she bounded on top of a smaller building, and leaped to the next one and the next one. She was very quietly stalking this negaverse energy, whatever or whoever it was. Talia had learned from Howlite and Chaonis that it wasn't always best to just rush in and attack. Nope, she would take this one with prudence and strategy.

Late nights came quickly and easily to the teenager, they always had and the sudden change in lifestyle had only cemented that fact. Chase had always been a night owl, preferring to be mischievous in the late hours of night (because really, it was the only time he could sneak out successfully) and that aspect of his life had transitioned nicely with his, uh, new activities. Now, as an independent youth living on his own he had all the freedom in the world and the world was his canvas to paint whatever he wanted upon it.

Metaphorically speaking of course.

It had been an early night at his second job, having been released early due to a slow night, he reluctantly left having to spend his long night with something else. Often he counted on late nights at work followed by late night patrolling and hopefully some good butt-kicking. So, when his night began earlier than expected he did the one thing he knew routinely. He powered up, enjoying the rush of dark energy that surged through his body as his clothing morphed into the blue, black and pink uniform and his plastic weapon formed in his hand.

He took to the rooftops easily, it had become his preferred method of travel whenever powered. He came to a standstill, rocking back and forth on his heels on the edge of one of the taller buildings in DC. He could feel the aura of sugary goodness that was a senshi, but he made no move to face nor to flee from them. Instead he stood there, poised ready to take flight if needed.

Until then, he stood head turned back slightly awaiting the senshi undoubtedly stalking him.

Did he just look back at her? No, it must've been her imagination. Wait, he just did it again. Now he stopped.

Oh goddammit, he was onto her, wasn't he?

Draconis herself came to a halt and waited for a moment or two. She ducked behind a stray air vent output to collect her thoughts. Should she rush him? Wait and see? Pretend like he didn't notice her and just keep on patrolling? Run away like a si-

Nope. That line of thought was stopping right there. Draconis stepped out from behind the vent and shouted, "Just where d'you think you're goin'?" She struck a sort of eternally pissed off/b***h pose and checked her nails, as if bored. Her rings clattered as her fingers wiggled in the air.

Now that she was only a building away or so, Draconis could really see all the details of this boy. He was carrying ... a flamingo ... And his hair was a matching pink and black. Wait, maybe this wasn't the negaverse she had been stalking moments ago. This guy looked more like a deranged yard-saler monger, but no, the negaverse signal was there. Why'd she have to get the crazy ones?

He didn't know her exact location, he merely assumed that she was behind him due the strength of her energy signature pulsing behind him. When she stepped into view he turned slightly so a quarter of him were facing towards her. "Does it look like I'm going anywhere?" He replied, a smirk spreading across his lips. He still seemed to teeter on the edge of the rooftop his was perched upon. He took a step back so he was no longer giving the appearance that he would take flight at any moment.

"Besides, who said it was any of your business if I was?" He asked turning towards her and slinging his weapon across his shoulders. "But you're cute, so I'll tell you," he laughed as he took a step towards her. "I planned on collecting some energy, but now that you're here I was thinking about maybe engaging in a battle," he said it so casually that it could almost seem like he was suggesting they play a game of cards.

Yes, lieutenant Labyrinthite was an odd one indeed, especially lately, but he was far from crazy. Or so he liked to think.

"But you're cute so you can go free if you'd like, but only tonight and I only offer it once," he taunted having faith that she'd take his bait and attack.

Ooh Draconis liked this nega. He called her cute. If he wasn't evil, she would've totally loved to flirt with him and go on a date. Why did all of the cute boys have to be evil? It just wasn't fair. Such were the woes of a teenage girl.

His last comment set her off though. Like Hell she was going to back down. She would never do that! She was Sailor freaking Draconis! Whatever good opinions the boy had formed had all but disappeared now.

"Thanks, but no thanks," she said flatly, with absolutely no amusement in her voice.

Now that she had been in a few battles, she had learned that being on the frontline wasn't always the best option. Sure it was more enjoyable, and she often did more damage that way, but she also got hurt more that way. It seemed as though stopping and think things through was the best way to go.

Which meant taunting of course! "So ... any reason you have a ... flamingo in your hand there?" Seriously, why was he carrying that thing around?

Labyrinthite would have to admit that the senshi before him wasn't bad looking, no he would definitely say that she ranked fairly high on the cute meter but she played for the wrong side and that dropped her overall attractiveness from a 7 or 8 to a 4. It was a pity, but he didn't seem to mind too much. His smirk only widened when he say her get all riled up from his last comment.

"Shame I'll have to mess up that pretty face of yours then," he pretended to lament while he flexing his hand in and out of a fist ready to take her on. He stood in a pose between standing back casually and being prepared for an attack. If he appeared fairly vulnerable then it would give him an advantage, he didn't think he needed it but it was always nice to have.

"Why not?" He replied lifting it and waving it around like it was no big deal. "Don't like it?"

"Oh no, I like it quite a bit," she said, feigning interest. "It reflects your personality wonderfully." By that, she meant how it looked ridiculous, and so did he. Really, it was a flamingo.

She'd seen Howlite's weapon, the little package things, and a few other useless weapons here and there from the negaversers, but nothing this ridiculous. She'd seen rubber bracelets and paper airplanes called "weapons," but at least they looked a little intimidating. A pink flamingo? That was just making her laugh.

Draconis was a little horrified by how this nega was flirting with her, but ignored it. Now wasn't the time for playful pre-battle banter anymore, now was the time for action.

She flung herself forward, aiming a punch at his chest, and said, "The only face that'll be messed up is yours."
