Chandra felt.... wierd, she had woken up vomitting during the night and she could swear that she was looking... plumper, for lack of a better description, and sure enough after spending what felt like hours standing in front of the lake staring at her reflection she was sure she could make out the starts of a baby bump. It may not be big enough for others to see but she knew it was there. Chandra gulped, knowing from her experience that those who started off 'plumper' often had three children.... could she be one of those lucky mares? She gulped again, the very idea making her nervous, but in a way not as nervous as her task... telling Sonnet. She had left him sleeping below their tree, and with all the courage she could muster she started back towards him.
The journey felt like it would take forever, and the problem was.... she didn't know how he would take the news! They had discussed children but always with the words 'there is no rush' and now this... BAM!
Yet as he came into view she couldn't help but beam at his form, she loved him and he her, she knew that. Carefully she appraoched and settled down beside him, nuzzling him softly to wake him up if he hadn't woken already.

Sonnet mumbled a little in his sleep as he was nuzzled but he didn't wake right away. He was still ajusting to the herd's timetable having always been around more in the day than at night. But he had wanted this, he wanted to be with Chan so he perseveared, though heh ad come here sooner because of Maion going missing, he had probably been no help, but he had been there for Chan if nothing else. Finally he lifts his head waking up enough to mumble sleepily. "Whats wrong north star?" Not overly worried as he had been woken with a nuzzle not a scream.

Chandra smiled down at him as he spoke, it was typical Sonnet that he would ask what was wrong straight away.... and part of her wanted to just burst out and tell him, her excitment growing with each passing moment. "I have something...." She paused, taking the opportunity to kiss his cheek, "... to tell you sleepy-head."

Sonnet yawned and nodded, giving his face a good rub on a leg to help wake himself up. Giving his head a shake and looking at her with a still slightly sleepy smile, but he was definately more awake. "Ok, I'm awake, what is it?" Blinking a little more his eyes clearning the last of the sleep in them, looking at her wide awake now.

Chandra looked down into his eyes and froze.... maybe she should break the news to him another way? No.... she shook her head and closed her eyes, she couldn't do that to him. Even if she kissed him and tried to pretend she only wanted to tell him she loved him Chandra couldn't bring herself to lie... even if the words she spoke were truth they were not what she wanted to tell him.
It took a moment to compose herself, her heart racing through her chest in anticipation. Opening her eyes she smiled softly down at him, she knew in her heart that Sonnet would be happy.... so there was no need to delay it.... "We are...." She paused, a slight giggle escaping her lips, "...having a baby..... or maybe babies..."

Sonnet looked at her a moment, his mind absorbing what she had said, his eyes widening when it really hit him. Babies... Chan was... he was going to... Blushing as he flet a thrill of excitement and wonder. His eyes lighting up, still looking somewhat dazed. "Babies... We are going to have some?... Really really??" Not sure how a stallion should react to this news, he was happy that was clear on his face, but he was also stunned, that too was clear.

Chandra beamed down at his reaction, and she couldn't help it but she covered his adorable blushing cheeks in a thosand and one kisses before leaning her forehead to his and just enjoying the sight of his mellow eyes. It was a difficult move in part due to their horns but she had been practising. "Yes...." The excitment she felt in Sonnet washed away all of her nerves.... she knew they would be ok, that their children would grow up big and strong and have a wonderful family around them.... and wonderful parents, already she couldn't wait to see Sonnet as a father!

Sonnet blinked some more, still in mild shock, blushing a little more deeply but grinning like a fool. He was going to be a father, it was wonderful news, but at the same time he worried, a small worry in the back of his mind, he wanted to be a good father... Carefully nuzzling his nose to hers, drawing back to give her a gentle and slightly unsure kiss on her nose. "I'll try to be the best father I can." His voice unsure, showing his doubts, but then no one could ever say they were sure they would make a good parent.

Chandra beamed down at him again, "You will be wonderful!" She nuzzled him again, her excitment now officially here to stay.... though there was one thing that still scared her a little, telling her family. Out of her siblings she was the youngest, and as far as she knew she was the first to have children.... she knew that most of the herd would be over the moon -quite literally- but what would her father say? Still, she tried not to let such thoughts upset her. "I can't believe this...." she finally said, "...you have made all my dreams come true Sonnet."

Sonnet pretty much went crimson at her words, he had wanted to make all of her dreams come true, tohugh he had to admit, even if only to himself he had never thought to do so this soon. But things happened when they happened, and he would be glad of this even if it had been somewhat unexpected. Grinning still and nuzzling her. "And you will be an amazing mother, Lucky little foals." Smiling at her, he had never known hos mother but despite that he had thrown his all into his family, unusual as it had been to Chan. Looking at her his expression deadly serious. "I promise I'll always be there for you and our foals Chan.. Always." His words betraying his thoughts a little, his mother had abandoned him, his sister and father when he was born, all because of a title she had wanted to keep. Looking round, finding himself wondering if anyone had overherd, thinking it would be bad if they weren't the ones to tell Maion and Sengdroma.... Very very bad....

Chandra smiled down at Sonnet, her expression growing serious but soft at his words, she knew him well enough to guess what his was thinking, and she also knew that nothing short of death would keep him away... and even then she suspected his spirit would guard her and the foals. "I know..." she said softly, "I know." She kissed him on the cheek softly, the contact helping her feel grounded and she hoped it would do the same for him.
In an effort to distract him she thought she would bring up the family that was around, "I wonder how your father will take this.... or your sisters.... or.... my siblings.... and my parents." She burst into laughter, not really sure why... nerves perhaps?

Sonnet was glad of the nuzzle to his cheek, it having the effect he hoped it would. "Well my father will be exstatic, my sisters will probably be happy too.. I know Echo will pester to be a babysitter." Smiling a little at the thought of his niece and how much she would probably end up talking his ears off about her cousins. "As for your family... ...." He felt a prickle of fear, kind of hoping that her brother and father delt with him quickly, he would rather not suffer. His expression looking rather nervous. "I'm sure they will be happy for you." After they killed him, after all he had never gotten chance to talk to Maion about his becoming Chan's mate... He had been kidnapped before the chance had come.... He was doomed...

Chandra watched Sonnet's expression change and saw some of the meaning behind his words... he was nervous... very nervous. Playfully she nipped his mane and whispered, "They won't kill you.... they would rather you were here with me forever." She said with a smile as she continued to beam down at him, "...plus I love you Sonnet. That's all that matters." She nuzzled him again, "..and I know our children will love you too!" In truth Chandra wasn't sure how her father and brother would treat him, they were both very protective of her... and something told her that it wouldn't change any time soon.

Sonnet smiles and nuzzles her gently. "I love you too Chan, you will always be my northstar, and our children will be the other lights in my life." As for her family, he could only hope that she was right, but whatever happened he was her mate and the only one that could take responsibility and he wasn't going to back down. Shifting closer and spreading 2 of his wings over her, feeling even more protective of her and their children she carried, nuzzling her gently.
