Now with a groanspring! AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM Name: Adelphie Nicknames: Adel, Adele, Phie Gender: Female (It doesn't wiggle and jiggle in the breeze *sigh*) Age: Seventeen
Faction/Race Demon - Pixie Natural Ability: Adelphie is able to imbed curiosity in a person which they will often times be compelled to go on one of her epic journeys. This ability does not always work as it only implants curiosity in their brain and thus her victims can ignore this. Flaws: Often times her victims snap out of it within two minutes. Sometimes her victims will suffer from the uncontrollable urge to eat, sleep, or do their homework! (Varies from person to person).
Personality: Pixies by nature are very tricky characters who like to lure others into danger. Adelphie is really no exception to this. She will do just about anything to try (in vain) to scare another halloweenian. She has a phobia of centipedes, which seem to lurk around every corner. Other then that, there are few things that really scare her.
Also do to her nature she can have a bit of a short temper which may cause her to heartless things. (Such as tricking a persons lover into falling in love with her or destorying their most prized possesion). Adelphie does like to trick others and lead them on epic journeys for fun. However, she can not always guarantee the safety of said person.
Her epic journeys include (but are not limited to) making a person work for any piece of knowledge they seek. Such as they need help writing their papers, need answers on if a boy or girl likes them, ect. She also has been known to take something that doesn't belong to her just to make someone chase after her. Adelphie does not like to be made out to be less supirior then a man and will often go to great lengths to prove she is far better. Although, she is a bit obsessed with the idea of love and has a serious problem with gambling. Adelphie's obession with love began when she was about twelve years old and snuck into her mothers book room and read most of her romantic novels from the human world. She has also had a small inclination due to her nature to make others feel more inclined to like her which also fueled her obessions with finding a soul mate, or at least what she considers to be one.
Her gambling problem really all has to do with her nature. Pixies tend to more mechivious and like to make deals with their victims if they can complete certain tasks (epic journeys). Adelphie noticed her inclination for this side of her nature at a very young age when she was playing with a fellow pixie child. Adelphie had taken the other childs jacks and offered to give them back if they could sucessfully trick another pixie into giving them their jacks that Adelphie could then play with. Little did the other pixie child know, but Adelphie had been watching them for a while to learn their weakness which just so happened to be tricking others. Thus she got to keep the other childs jacks. As she grew she would also bet her own things against other pixie childrens things, which most of the time she won. (If she didn't they would have to fear her impending wrath).
Like most young pixies Adelphie looks foreward to the future when she will be able to go to the human world and cause unimaginable chaos. She isn't particularly fond of traveling, but finds herself calmed by walking. Sometimes her temper can be calmed by simply giving her honey. However, the severity of her anger may cause the 'treatment' of it to be harder to do.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Adelphie would like to learn how to unlock her inner scary and gain control over her own abilities and fear. She hopes to take human studies, stealth class, creature feature class and anything thing else the school has to offer or forces her into.
FEAR: Adelphie has the ability to cause people to have delusions about their own reality. Except it fails majority of the time and when it does work it just causes others to suffer from extreme laughter. ( emotion_0A0 )
Physical Description: 6'7, thin and toned body. Adelphie reflects that of a modern traveling girl. Her hair is long and pulled back, somewhat braided. Her cloths are modern and shoes reflect that of ancient greek times. Eye Colour: Forest fruit Hair Colour/Style: Hair color - highlights included Hairstyle - minus the flower Skin Colour: Tan Clothing Style/Colours: x - I would love for it to be slightly torn down at the bottom. Maybe a darker shade where the tan is? Shoe style/color Extra:Pointed-ish teeth. Slightly elfish ears. References: Listed above

Long ago the pixies had stumbled upon the land of Halloween Town by accident on their way to the human world. After the discovery of the this new world most pixies flocked to live in Halloween Town due to the other creatures of it's vast lands sharing the same intrests as them. (And also because there were now new victims). Most pixies make their home in the great tree (or around it) and live amoung other pixies. It is not unheard of from other creatures to live amoungst them or for pixies to mate with other creatures.
Adelphie's creation was both a shock and a mystery. Her mother Phaedra had been walking through a small field of wolfbane flowers when she stumbled upon a Aechmea asenionii. She knew this only because of the immense smell of rotting flesh emanating from the flower and also because it was twice the size of any pixie creature. Deciding she would move this plant elsewhere she gingerly began digging at the base of the plant, unknowingly tearing up the roots. While digging she noticed there had once been a pumpkin underneath the plant but the Aechmea asenionii grew threw the ground it had grown right through the pumpkin. Within moments she began to hear what sounded like screaming coming from inside the plant. Curious, she stood up and began looking at the plant. "Hmmm." She said to herself.
Finally she decided it was best to open the plant to see what was inside screaming. Within moments of tearing at the plant the screaming got louder and louder until she reached the core of it. To her surprise, inside was a teenage pixie girl with scratches and holes all over her body. Stunned that what she had been doing to the plant had been done to the girl Phaedra lifted her up and took her to her home in the woods where she healed up the girls wounds. It was then that Phaedra decided she would adopt this poor girl who obviously needed some care since she came out of a plant and appeared to be in the mental status of a young child. "You shall be named Adelphie." She said to the sleeping girl.
As her daughter 'grew' she was delighted to see that Adelphie was hitting all of her standard pixie milestones with the exception of being able to scare others. Figuring she would grow out of this oddity, Phaedra encouraged every other part of her. However, when Adelphie was finally up to mental status with the other teens of Halloween town and still could not use her FEAR or even scare others she figured it was time that she enrolled her daughter in Amityville Academy.

Information on Pixies
Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixie
Short history The origin of the name pixie is uncertain. Some have claimed that it comes from the Swedish dialectal pyske meaning wee little fairy.[3] Others, however, have disputed this, claiming that due to the Cornish origin of the piskie that the term is probably Celtic in origin, though no Celtic ancestor of the word is known.[4]
Pixie mythology seems to predate Christian presence in Britain. In the Christian era they were sometimes said to be the souls of children who had died un-baptized. By 1869 some were suggesting that the name pixie was a racial remnant of Pictic tribes who used to paint/tattoo their skin blue, an attribute often given to pixies. This suggestion is still met in contemporary writing, but there is no proven connection and the etymological connection is doubtful.[5] Some 19th century researchers made more general claims about pixie origins, or have connected them with Puck, a mythological creature sometimes described as a fairy; the name Puck is also of uncertain origin.
Until the advent of more modern fiction, pixie mythology was localized to Britain. Some have noted similarities to "northern fairies", Germanic and Scandinavian fae,[6] but pixies are distinguished from them by the myths and stories of Devon and Cornwall.
Cornwall & DevonBefore the mid 19th century, pixies and faires were taken seriously in much of Cornwall and Devon. Books devoted to the homely beliefs of the peasantry are filled with incidents of pixie manifestations. Some locales are named for the pixies associated with them. In Devon, near Challacombe, a group of rocks are named for the pixies said to dwell there. In some areas belief in pixies and fairies as real beings persists.
In the legends associated with Dartmoor, pixies (or piskeys) are said to disguise themselves as a bundle of rags to lure children into their play. The pixies of Dartmoor are fond of music and dancing and for riding on Dartmoor colts. These pixies are generally said to be helpful to normal humans, sometimes helping needy widows and others with housework. They are not completely benign however, as they have a reputation for misleading travelers (being "pixy-led", the remedy for which is to turn your coat inside out).[7]
The queen of the Cornish pixies is said to be Joan the Wad (torch), and considered to be good luck. In Devon, pixies are said to be "invisibly small, and harmless or friendly to man."
In some of the legends and historical accounts they are presented as having near human stature. For instance, a member of the Elford family in Tavistock, Devon, successfully hid from Cromwell’s troops in a pixie house.[8] Though the entrance has narrowed with time, the pixie house, a natural cavern on Sheep Tor, still is accessible.
At Buckland St. Mary, Somerset, pixies and fairies are said to have battled each other. Here the pixies were victorious and still visit the area, whilst the fairies are said to have left after their loss.[9]
By the early 19th century their contact with 'normal' humans had diminished. In Samuel Drew’s 1824 book Cornwall [10] one finds the observation: "The age of pixies, like that of chivalry, is gone. There is, perhaps, at present hardly a house they are reputed to visit. Even the fields and lanes which they formerly frequented seem to be nearly forsaken. Their music is rarely heard."
Characteristics Pixies are variously described in folklore and fiction.
They are often ill-clothed or naked.[11] In 1890, William Crossing noted a pixie's preference for bits of finery: "Indeed, a sort of weakness for finery exists among them, and a piece of ribbon appears to be ... highly prized by them." [12] Lack of fashion sense has been taken by Rachael de Vienne,[13] a modern fantasy writer, to mean that pixies generally go unclothed, though they are sensitive to human need for covering.,[14] In de Vienne's book, the main character, a pixie child, delights in ribbons made from her father's shirt.
Some pixies are said to steal children or to lead travellers astray. This seems to be a cross-over from fairy mythology and not originally attached to pixies; in 1850, Thomas Keightley observed that much of Devon pixie mythology may have originated from fairy myth.[15] Pixies are said to reward consideration and punish neglect on the part of larger humans, for which Keightley gives examples. By their presence they bring blessings to those who are fond of them.
Pixies are drawn to horses, riding them for pleasure and making tangled ringlets in the manes of those horses they ride. They are "great explorers familiar with the caves of the ocean, the hidden sources of the streams and the recesses of the land." [16]
Some find pixies to have a human origin or to "partake of human nature", in distinction to fairies whose mythology is traced to immaterial and malignant spirit forces. In some discussions pixies are presented as wingless, pygmy-like creatures, however this is probably a later accretion to the mythology.
One British scholar took pixie myth seriously enough to state his belief that "Pixies were evidently a smaller race, and, from the greater obscurity of the … tales about them, I believe them to have been an earlier race." [17]

Hallo! Welcome to zee shop! So, in taking a look at your character! First off, you should know that TiH already has a siren character in play. And he pulls from the siren myth version that is more bird-like than fish-like. Now, I'm not 100% sure if this means that the fish-like type of siren is a no-go or not, but I'm just mentioning it so that you're aware of the little conflict there! The solution to resolving that without any problem is, of course, to class your girl as a mermaid, which is still a monster-type. :> There are two mermaids in the shop which you might want to check out as well - Amphitrite (who has a natural ability very similar to your girl's, which makes me think the mermaid classification would definitely be right for you!) and Karis. I also like her character design; I like how she's based off of a more Greek physique/appearance. For her personality: right now, what you have down seems brief and a little contradictory. As an example of the last point, her gentleness seems at odds with the rest of her stated personality - she seems much more mischievious than gentle! As it stands, her personality feels a bit flat to me, but I can see potential there. I like her wanting to be better than men, for example. With the mention of gambling, epic journeys, and pranks, it sounds like what you're going for is a spunky daredevil character rather than a shy, gentle one. A few questions that might help you: Where does she lead people on "epic journeys"? Does she enjoy traveling, herself - maybe she feels cooped up at school and chafes at authority because of it? What kind of love is she obsessed with - is it classically romantic love, or perhaps a more messed-up posessive version? (Messed up things are fun in a Halloween setting.) How does her gambling problem come out of her personality - does she like to take risks, or get impulsively caught up in the moment? I hope that's helpful, even a little bit!

Thank you Sosiqui! <3 No, I am eternally thankful for your critique's as I just created it last night and felt it to be.... Well not quite up to snuff where it should be, and found myself a little unsure where to take her next. So thank you very much! <3 I'll definately take a look at the other Siren and ask questions on if that could be a conflict later on and if I should just change her now. :]
Also, I'll go check out the mermaid characters and see if if they are more closer to what direction I am wanting to go with Adelphie. :] Also, I'll be sure to look back at your questions as I am going through and editing to make sure does get more up to parr and there are no conflicts. <3

Hey there! Just a couple things about her natural ability and FEAR
You may want to be a little careful about the nat ability since it miiiight be a little god mody? I'm not 100% on this, but you may want to consider coming up with a different one as a backup in case it doesn't work out.
As far as her FEAR goes... I'm not really sure how a victim losing grip of reality is a flaw of the attack. Also, for a first year student, having an effect potentially last a few hours may be a bit much. That, to me, seems something more capable of a third year or even alumni.
Also, this isn't really an issue but I'd suggest breaking the personality up into a few more paragraphs. With the smaller text and everything bunched together like that, it made it a little difficult to read. XD; Perhaps that was just me though.

To be honest, her natural ability seemed a bit like that to me too. ^^; But I'm always my own worst critic so I just wanted someone else to say hey, CHANGE THAT. xD So I'll go work on that here in a minute. :}
Hmm... I'll have to try to fix her FEAR then. 8D I wasn't sure how exactly to 'start' her off with a FEAR ability and wasn't quite sure just how advanced each year is/what they consider for each year. But now I know!
I'll go do so now! :3

If it helps out, first year students have little control/strength as far as FEAR goes. They've more or less just started working with it. They're kinda like a lv 5-10 (or some other low level) character in an rpg.
