I noticed that the Gaia Convention is rolling into my town soon, and this gave me an idea to start a thread for the different locations coming up. For those that may live in the same area as others, or are near (state or province wide) the convention spot, but may not know of any of the members here that are in their area, there could even be meetups arranged.

OH MA GASH!!!!!! I just realized it's the 23rd! That means....TWO MORE DAYS TILL THE CONVENTION!!!!!!
I doubt that's enough time to see who lives in the area...but anything is possible. This will be my first Fan Expo...I"M SOO EXCITED!!!! Although I'm not like the other EXPO/CON fanatics...I don't have an outfit/costume prepared *smacks palm to forehead*. I'm going all five days...wow, that's like $100 something for the whole thing! Well, then again, I'm not much for panel discussions...so I might just go for the last two days...that way my g/f can go with me. If anyone lives in the Toronto area, or lives in Canada and is planning to fly in for the expo...it would be great to meet. SOO EXCITED!!!! xd

I would be tempted... but I'd probably stick out as an old(er) person among all the teens. And I'm not sure I could spare the time. But if anyone here has the opportunity I'd love to hear about it vicariously. wink

Looks like I won't be going for two reasons...
I've been feeling pretty under the weather for the passed few weeks; I really don't think it would be good to go there sniffling and sneezing. I'm saving up to go to a carnival that's rolling into town which I'll be going to with my g/f. So no con pics till next year. crying

What kind of carnival is it? Thanks Camwen *air hug* don't want to get you sick *achew* It's a two week carnival that rolls into a nearby town once a year. It's got this one cool ride that I'm hoping to go on where you go 50ft up in the air strapped into this tower looking thing then you free fall...sooo excited for that! There's also a reverse bungie ride where you're catapulted 100 or so feet into the air...kinda like a monster sized slingshot! Ohh and I can't forget all the stomach turning fun foods...bacon dipped in chocolate, funnel cake drizzled with powdered sugar, cotton candy and curly fries! I'll try to get pics.

The paper mentioned about gross foods which make my stomach go topsy turvy. Here's two that sticks out: a deep fried cola and the other is a cheeseburger sandwiched between two halves of a Krispy Kreme donut. xp

As for the convention... my brothers did not enjoy this year. By the time I went to the convention, I came in late (half an hour) to see Gaia's upcoming event. I also came in a day earlier for the feedback session which unfortunately I cannot make it on that date. So I delivered a piece of paper with my idea to DJ Helsing. Chances are... my idea will not make it to the final board. Anyway, enough of that. At least, I did not come home empty-handed. Before DJ Helsing left he mentioned that there was a pamphlet to recruit new members to the site as well as the link to get these items. Well, my co-workers never seem to have time to look at this site but at least I can give this link to you all. So enjoy! 3nodding

I've heard of the donut burgers but the fried cola had me scratching my head. Then I looked it up and saw that it's not literally cola, but cola flavored batter (like donut holes) with cola syrup on top. Gross!
